The Digital Marketing Officer (social media and website) is an exciting role at MDUK, that will sit within the Marketing Team. You will be responsible for the day to day running of our social media channels including Meta, X, LinkedIn and YouTube and the day to day running of our website. What the job involves
We’re on the lookout for a Direct Marketing Executive to join our Individual Giving Team here at Prostate Cancer UK. This role focuses on acquiring new cash and regular givers across a range of channels including direct dialogue, direct mail, digital and telephone, helping fund research that will save and improve lives.
In this role you’ll be part of an exciting time at the charity, joining us as we roll out our new Fundraising strategy and continue investment in Acquisition. You’ll drive on campaigns across a broad range of channels, with the aim of recruiting new, and re-engaging, lapsed regular and cash supporters. You’ll look for ways to test and innovate to drive the lowest attrition, best ROI and strongest lifetime value. About the role
As the GIS Manager, you will lead the strategic use of GIS at Sustrans, embedding spatial tools and data across the organisation. I’m looking to speak to a Content Manager who will join a fantastic health charity, and produce high quality, compelling and insight-driven content for use across multiple channels to raise the profile the charity and their impact. This includes a strong focus on video and multimedia content, written stories and blogs as well as leading their successful podcast production. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy
- Lead on the development and implementation of our Individual Giving strategy, supported by the Head of Mass Participation and the Director of Fundraising & Marketing.
- Ensure all opportunities and future plans are in line with Winston’s Wish’s over-arching fundraising strategy to meet financial targets, organisational objectives and KPIs.
- Maintain an awareness of philanthropy trends, news, events and legislation in the UK to ensure that Winston’s Wish remains up to date on key changes which are likely to impact on individual giving.
Generating Individual Giving Income
- Lead on and deliver a plan to increase individual giving income from streams including, but not exclusive to, direct mail, regular giving, legacies, in-mem and our charity lottery
- Effective use of KPIs to ensure decisions are driven by evidence and real-time data.
- Continuously analyse our income and supporter data to measure effectiveness of activities and return on investment.
- Work alongside our design agencies and in-house marketing team to develop and manage direct mail campaigns, including segmentation to ensure campaigns will be carefully targeted and designed to maximise income.
- Explore and test new methods for donor recruitment and increasing donations.
- Seek every opportunity to increase awareness of legacy giving to Winston’s Wish and monitor the effectiveness of these activities over time.
- Manage a growing portfolio of legacy enquirers with appropriate contact and timely solicitation of prospective legators including hosting events and tailored stewardship.
- Manage the stewardship and development of our regular giving programme including uplift campaigns and solicitation of new donors to agreed targets.
- Work alongside the wider fundraising team to ensure effective cross-selling of individual giving products and vice-versa identify opportunities to introduce other fundraising products to our individual givers.
- Identify supporters who could provide compelling content which could be used by the wider Fundraising & Marketing team to inspire further support including suggesting key individuals who could feature in online and offline publications.
- Work with the Philanthropy & Partnerships Manager to ensure that potential major donors are identified and included in relevant activities.
Administration
- Diligently maintain records of all interactions with supporters on Salesforce.
- Ensure all activities comply with appropriate legal, regulatory and fundraising good practice and with Winston’s Wish policies and standards.
- Keep a close eye on incoming donations to ensure they are coded correctly and that supporter data is accurately recorded in accordance with GDPR.
- Effective management and control of expenditure across all projects and campaigns in line with agreed expenditure budgets.

About the Team
This role is in the Global International Affairs team, which plays a leadership role across the WaterAid Federation to drive the design and delivery of WaterAid’s major influencing with key donor governments, IFIs and multilateral institutions to achieve SDG 6.
Led by the Global International Affairs Director, the team’s purpose is to influence political decisionmakers in key global arenas and markets to prioritise water, sanitation and hygiene for investment and delivery, and to create the conditions that enable everyone, everywhere to access WASH by 2030. We bring political analysis, information and intelligence into WaterAid through the relationships we develop and manage with governments, policy-makers and thought-leaders.
About the Role
As our Global Affairs Lead focusing on climate you will drive the political strategy and global advocacy for our climate campaign. Bringing considerable strategic contacts, networks and relationships for WASH and Climate advocacy you will work closely with the Global Head of Campaigns on Climate and the Climate Policy Lead, this role being responsible for the design and delivery of the international political plan on Climate and the insider advocacy, activities and tactics required you will bring political analysis and strategic insight into the organisation to inform our campaigning and advocacy, identify policy needs and inform media and public engagement approaches.
In this role, you will lead design and delivery of the International Climate Political Plan, the international political influencing strategy for WaterAid’s Climate campaign and give strategic direction to the political advocacy for COP30 agenda for Brasil and influence key decision-makers on climate finance for water and WASH adaptation investment. You will have a good understanding of climate adaptation agenda and policy and you will be responsible for the power-mapping and political analysis that identifies the key levers for change in support of our political plan change objectives for Climate. Bring a strong understanding of the institutions, organisations.
You’ll also:
- Be responsible for co-chairing the Global Advocacy Meeting with the global head of campaigns on Climate.
- Lead the process to identify which targets are best for our policy change objectives, which we can then further refine in line with those targets.
- Be a media spokesperson and represent the organisation at strategic events and with high-level campaign targets.
- Embed a strong gender, equity and inclusion lens to advocacy priority delivery, as part of addressing the needs of those burdened the most with a lack of access to WASH.
- Travel in support of the global relationships and strategic presence at key events and processes.
Requirements
To be successful, you’ll need:
- Strategic Political Leadership: Exceptional strategic thinking skills, with the ability to design and lead the implementation of comprehensive international political influencing plans.
- High-Level Relationship Management: Demonstrated success in building, managing, and leveraging relationships with senior decision-makers, including government officials, international development agencies, and private sector leaders.
- WASH and Climate Expertise: Deep understanding of the intersection between WASH, climate change and poverty reduction. As well as how these sit within wider development issues.
- Advocacy and Campaign Leadership: Proven ability to develop and execute successful advocacy campaigns with demonstrable impact. Strong analytical skills to assess political contexts, identify opportunities, and design tailored advocacy strategies.

Our existing offer includes flexible working arrangements, a sabbatical policy, virtual GP services, and “Habitat Day” – an extra day of leave for the whole team. In the next year, we plan to expand our offer further, establishing Mental Health First Aider training, a buddy system for new team members, and burnout training. We want to foster a resilient and well-supported team, and encourage all employees to actively participate in continuous improvement in this endeavour.
A flexible approach
HFHGB is seeking to rapidly scale up its activities and impact to fight poverty across the world. This means that the organisation must be adaptable and flexible and have an ambitious, and dynamic team. While this is currently a home-based role, it is an expectation that the post holder will be flexible, and able to travel to Greater London and elsewhere on a regular basis.
