In addition, they will have management experience to unite, develop and lead the team to achieve challenging targets and deliver long term philanthropic goals.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the strategy to build philanthropic giving at EHAAT in consultation with the CEO, Executive Team, Trustees and Development Board, to support the charity’s objectives and long term aims.
- Deliver a fundraising plan across the Philanthropy & Partnerships team, including major giving, legacies, trusts and foundations and corporate partnerships, to achieve agreed strategic objectives.
- Provide excellent executive support and guidance to the Development Board and the Chair, and take a leading role in building the Board further by identifying and recruiting to its membership and the wider pool of Ambassadors.
- Ensure philanthropic giving to the charity is strengthened through in-depth research, compelling proposals, wellcrafted approaches for gifts and excellent stewardship.
- Deliver regular activity and income reports and participate in the budgeting and forecasting of income in this area.
- Lead and support the Philanthropy & Partnerships team, enabling team members to fulfil their potential and meet agreed objectives through collaborative and shared working.
- Work across the charity to collaboratively create exciting and impactful propositions for funding, impact reports, and stewardship opportunities, in particular relating to the Centre for Excellence.
- Implement and regularly review an effective gift policy and undertake all necessary due diligence prior to accepting gifts, ensuring donations and grants are correctly allocated and used, and conditions met.
- Develop and maintain a detailed knowledge of EHAAT's current work and future strategic plans.
- Identify potential relationships and opportunities across the fundraising team, recognising where there is overlap.

This role is an exciting opportunity to help realise Tusk’s further growth potential, by implementing and continuing to evolve Tusk’s communications strategy and managing all of Tusk’s communications, from print and digital communications, to engagement with the press and other media. The communications strategy covers Tusk’s operations and fundraising in the UK, US, and across Africa.
The successful candidate will come to the position with a proven track record in marketing and communications, preferably with a good understanding of African wildlife conservation issues and / or working in a charity environment.
The role will be based out of Tusk’s headquarters in Gillingham, Dorset, with the potential for some working from home, as well as travel to London and potentially elsewhere on occasion.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Communications Strategy
- Develop, implement, review and evaluate Tusk’s communications strategy, working with the senior leadership team, and the Head of Digital, as well as external PR agencies.
- Implement the narrative elements of Tusk’s brand positioning, style and tone of voice, working with the Design and Brand Manager (who manages the visual elements).
- Working with the management team, determine the key issues on which Tusk can have greatest impact (complementing and supporting the role that its Royal Patron can also play) and tailor communications accordingly.
- In conjunction with the fundraising team, develop strategies to enhance communications with Tusk’s different target groups, especially high-net worth individuals, decision-makers, and the public.
- Work with the Tusk team to develop, manage, deliver and evaluate integrated communications campaigns to raise awareness of the threats facing African wildlife, and help secure funds to tackle them.
- Work with the Tusk team to amplify the voices of our project partners, working with African media in particular.
- Plan, execute and evaluate the press and communication needs for major fundraising events, coordinating work with PR agencies as required.
- Line manage the Communications and Content Assistant.
Press and Media Management
- Manage Tusk’s engagement with the press and media to secure greater coverage, coordinating activities with external PR agencies as required.
- Develop relationships with journalists so that Tusk is approached as the leading authority on key conservation-related issues.
- Prepare and disseminate press releases.
- Secure interviews for the CEO and other spokespeople, particularly around key campaigns and events.
- Develop effective platforms from which Tusk’s Royal Patron and other patrons can deliver messages in support of the communications strategy.
Supporter Communications
- Coordinate the production of and edit Tusk’s bi-annual newsletters, annual Tusk Talk magazine, and all other printed marketing collateral, including for events.
- Support the digital team on the development of the Tusk website, writing and uploading regular news posts.
- Manage the Communications and Content Assistant for the implementation of Tusk’s social media strategy and the sending of regular e-shots to Tusk’s e-newsletter subscribers in both the UK and US.
- Support the development of promotional films and podcasts on Tusk’s work.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

2. Job Description
The Head of External Engagement is a key leadership post within the organisation. The role encompasses responsibility for the development and delivery of the organisation’s external activity, including profile, brand identity and stakeholder engagement (including the public), fundraising, and driving income generation in new areas, notably commercial partnerships. It also forms part of Sound and Music’s senior management team, who under the leadership of the Chief Executive are responsible for overseeing the organisation’s programme of activity, strategic development, external profile and a positive and productive organisational culture.
An experienced fundraiser and communicator, you will lead the external engagement team and support the delivery of its strategic and operational plans. The broad remit of the role means the successful candidate will be a strong and confident communicator who builds networks easily and prioritises exceptional stakeholder management and relationship development.

Leadership and management
External leadership:
· Represent Sound and Music publicly, including through stakeholder and supporter events

Internal leadership:

· Drive income growth by identifying and negotiating commercial partnerships and contribute to the development of an enhanced commercial mindset across the organisation

Finance and governance
· Contribute to creating and monitoring the overall organisation budget
· Work closely with the Chief Executive, Head of Programmes and Finance Manager to formulate financial strategy against specified budget areas, and to ensure that the programme activity is sufficiently resourced, planned and delivered to budget
· Ensure close monitoring of income and expenditure for relevant budget lines and contribute to senior management team financial planning and review
· Attend Board and Financial Subcommittee meetings to present and report impact on a quarterly basis

Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) works for the health and dignity of Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees. MAP is the leading UK charity delivering health and medical care to those worst affected by conflict, occupation and displacement, in the occupied Palestinian territory, including Gaza, and Lebanon.
MAP is in a period of ambitious growth and rapid development, as we respond to the massive humanitarian crisis in Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon. Due to this growth, we are seeking a Director of Fundraising and Marketing to lead the development and delivery of an ambitious and data driven fundraising strategy.
Purpose of role
The purpose of this role within MAP is to build a high-performing fundraising and marketing team in the UK, and in new international markets, to drive and stabilise significantly increased fundraising performance across a range of income streams. The post holder will lead the development and delivery of an ambitious and data driven fundraising and marketing strategy to successfully deliver MAP’s new five-year vision.
Primary responsibilities

The job holder will have the following key responsibilities:
Leadership
- Champion fundraising across the organisation.
- Be an inspiring ambassador for MAP and ensure this is reflected in the strategies, outputs, and behaviour of the fundraising team.
- Actively contribute to leading Medical Aid for Palestinians as a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT).
- Work closely with the SMT to ensure that appropriate processes and systems are in place across the organisation, including delivery against KPIs.
- Attend and actively participate in MAP’s Board meetings and relevant Board Committee meetings providing updates, necessary reports, and feedback on MAP’s fundraising and marketing.
- Lead cross-organisational projects in line with organisational strategy and direction.
- Build strong working relationships with colleagues across the organisation at all levels, adopting and encouraging a collaborative working approach.
- Keep abreast of, understand, clarify, and implement new or changes in relevant thinking and legislation, especially those directly affecting fundraising.
- Monitor and manage risk in accordance with MAP’s risk management policy.
Fundraising
- Lead the development and delivery of an ambitious and data driven fundraising strategy across a range of income streams to successfully deliver MAP’s new five-year vision.
- Build and inspire a high-performing and results-oriented Fundraising Team focused on delivering sustainable income to maintain and build on recent organisational growth.
- Ensure that MAP’s fundraising is supported by appropriate business/activity plans, and sound financial plans and budgets; and that performance is regularly monitored and evaluated against plans and budgets.
- Set, monitor, and deliver annual income and expenditure targets.
- Foster a culture of ambition and innovation and support the team to research, develop, and implement new fundraising approaches to recruit new donor groups across all income streams.
- Drive change and implement new ways of working across fundraising and the wider organisation in support of fundraising effectiveness.
- Manage relationships with key supporters and stakeholders and attend meetings and networking events to unlock new opportunities.
- Strengthen and build on existing supporter relationships, ensuring that all supporters receive a first-class experience.
- Support the team to develop professional and engaging fundraising materials including fundraising propositions, applications, proposals, appeals, pitches, and reports.
- Take overall responsibility for fundraising compliance and ensure that in all relevant areas, MAP complies with the law, regulation, and stakeholder and contractual obligations with third parties.
- Maintain oversight of the supporter database to ensure integrity, legal compliance, and suitability for MAP's fundraising strategy.
Fundraising Development
- Work with the Head of Individual Giving to deliver and implement a strategy which prioritises both the retention and acquisition of new donors, enhances the use of digital products, platforms, and channels and delivers the highest standard of supporter care and donor stewardship.
- Work with relevant colleagues to deliver a new strategy and plan which prioritises deepening and strengthening existing relationships and building a strong pipeline of new prospects to deliver multi-year funding from major donors, high profile supporters, trusts, foundations, and companies.
- Lead the adoption and use of a newly installed Microsoft Dynamics CRM to effectively support data-driven decision making and relationship management to generate supporter insights in support of increased fundraising.
- With the CEO and SMT, agree and invest in a scaled-up approach to fundraising internationally.
Brand and Marketing
- Working in collaboration with the Director of Advocacy and Communications, lead the development and delivery of an integrated marketing and communications strategy that is driven by audience insight.
- Build and inspire a high-performing and results-oriented Marketing Team to build a community of supporters by delivering a seamless supporter journey that promotes MAP’s work and delivers greater income generation.
- Ensure our brand and identity are strong and supported by authentic high-quality messaging, delivering integrated campaigns across all our channels that turn increased recognition into active support for MAP’s work.
- Increase brand awareness and brand attribution, creating an authentic and compelling voice for MAP which centres on Palestinian voices, including the voices of the people MAP serves.
- Empower teams across MAP to successfully deploy our brand.
- Work in partnership with the Director of Advocacy and Communications to ensure content is up to date, factually accurate and to manage reputational risk.
People Management
- Create a high-performing team that is ambitious and passionate about MAP’s vision.
- Provide line management to direct reports, setting, and monitoring individual performance objectives and motivating the team to be innovative and professional in its thinking and delivery.
- Ensure all fundraising staff receive consistent and motivating direction and feedback to enable them to work to the best of their ability.
