About the role
The role is to lead the work of Healthwatch Kensington & Chelsea, working with a small skilled staff team and a range of volunteers and other community stakeholders. In particular, you will share our commitment to embed user engagement and community development at the heart of the Healthwatch service model, empowering user voices and improving access to health services.
You’ll have an opportunity to develop the service in line with our ambitious vision. This will include leading on the planning and delivery of targeted projects, supporting a diverse and varied engagement programme, and building relationships with a range of strategic partners. The Healthwatch Manager (Kensington & Chelsea) also takes the lead on managing our local Advisory Board. You will work closely with the Healthwatch teams in Westminster and Brent.
Key responsibilities
Ensure Healthwatch Kensington & Chelsea’s work conforms to all required principles, objectives and statutory obligations, and meets all contractual requirements between The Advocacy Project and Brent Council.
Manage and motivate a small staff team to deliver an effective and vibrant local Healthwatch.
Provide leadership to make sure the patient and public voice is heard across health, social care, children’s and other sectors in a continuously changing external environment.
Support the effective working of the Healthwatch Kensington & Chelsea Advisory Board.
Ensure local communities are able to participate fully in our work, particularly those that are least likely to have had their voices listened to. Support these communities in influencing local and national policy.
Represent Healthwatch Kensington & Chelsea at strategic governance and external meetings with key stakeholders, liaising with nominated Board leads regularly.
Develop the service to respond to emerging trends and needs, keeping abreast of Healthwatch England best practice to continually enhance the quality of the service.
Monitor the service to make sure it delivers to time, budget and quality; provide reports evidencing this to key stakeholders, including local commissioners, Healthwatch Advisory Board, the Bi-borough Health and Wellbeing Board and Healthwatch England.
Develop effective partnerships with key staff in health and social care services.
Work with the communications and engagement lead to make sure all relevant internal and external stakeholders receive relevant, timely and up-to-date communication about all Healthwatch projects.
Work with the Healthwatch Service Manager and Head of Business Development to identify opportunities for funding additional work which will add value to our Healthwatch services.

We are looking to recruit a Head of Member Acquisition and Engagement on a part-time contract. The School’s Development Office was established in 2006 to work with the School’s communities, including past pupils (known as ‘Old Ipswichians’ or OIs), and current and former parents, to encourage support for Ipswich School through events, volunteering and financial support.
This is an exciting role based in our Development Office, which is vital to the smooth running of our alumni community, the Old Ipswichians. Our alumni are an important part of the School’s past, present and future. In this role you will take the lead in further developing and enhancing our events, alumni engagement and fundraising programme to encourage positive relationships with the School.
You will play a pivotal role in the team; producing engaging copy, editing, proofing and facilitating the delivery of key departmental communications. Working closely with the Development Director, you will also work to develop and implement an engaging fundraising programme.
To undertake this role successfully you will need to have the following skills and experience:
- Be educated to A Level standard with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Direct events management experience of at least three years

About the Role:
As Finance Business Partner to Communications and Fundraising directorates, you will:
- Regularly advise Communications and Fundraising leaders and senior manager to review financial aspects of their operational plans.
- Develop a systematic forecasting process for the directorate and ensure robust 3-year income and expenditure financial plans are implemented.
- Support on long term financial plans and modelling supporting WAUKs 10-year strategy.
- Develop enhanced self-service reporting relevant at budget holder and department level that supports optimal decision-making.
- Create efficient finance processes that best deliver the needs of the organisation.
- Provide training and advice to build the financial management competencies of budget holders.
- Work closely with the wider finance and IS team on delivering the organisational priorities.
You'll also:
- Work with Communications and Fundraising department heads to produce their multiple year income and expenditure budgets that are required to achieve the multi-year operational plan and strategy.
- Evaluate performance against plans and apply business insight to enable fundraising strategies to be delivered successfully.
- Use analysis to identify trends from across the department and ensure optimal financial decision-making.

About You:
To be successful, you'll need:
- Completed a professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA). We are also open to part qualified candidates with the appropriate professional experience and the intention to finish remaining exams. - Experience of formulating, overseeing and reporting on operational plans, including KPIs.

In 2013, Upbeat Communities launched Derby Language School (DLS) which is a social enterprise that provides language courses to individuals and organisations in the East Midlands. Main duties and responsibilities
Strategy, Analysis & Development:
