Sitting within our parent company’s Business Development Team, you will receive support for Twining tenders that you are actively working on and will also provide support to Hestia’s tenders, depending on demand.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

This role would suit someone with a proven track record in collaborative new business development from concept and research to delivery; ideally in an environment working with local authorities, NHS, DWP, health bodies, and/or grant institutions.  We are also looking for an exceptional communicator with strong verbal and written influencing skills across various levels of seniority.  Our ideal candidate will have a strong commercial acumen, including sales and negotiation expertise, and a good understanding of the financial principles applicable in the charity sector.  The successful candidate will be expected to uphold and embody the values of Twining in all aspects of their work.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Lead and support the creation of high-quality bids and funding applications, including finalising technical questions and method statements.

· Manage the administrative components of the tendering process.

· Conduct research to identify income opportunities related to the employment and mental health offer.

· Build and maintain networks with local health, social care and employment agencies.

· Stay informed about procurement practices and commissioning trends in London and nationally.

· Contribute to the shaping of Twining’s development strategy by identifying growth opportunities.

· Participate in events to position Twining as a thought leader in relevant sectors.

· Assist with the mobilisation of successful tenders, ensuring a smooth transition from award to contract initiation.

· Evaluate bids to improve future submissions and seek feedback on both successful and unsuccessful proposals.

· Keep updated on sector developments in employability.

· Attend meetings with Commissioners to foster relationships.

· Aid in the re-development of existing services to secure additional funding and/or efficiencies.

· Engage in tender presentations and clarification interviews as needed.

· Form partnerships and consortia to explore alternative service delivery methods.

· Support the retention of services by contributing to operational improvement initiatives.

· Coordinate with operations staff to optimise staffing structures and service delivery models for the best service user outcomes.

· Identify personal training and development needs and arrange visits to key services.

· Act as an ambassador for Twining, representing the organisation's interests with stakeholders.

Role Overview

Reporting to the Deputy Head of Events, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for looking at long term commercial growth across the Events Team. Key responsibilities:

● Developing a comprehensive income generation and marketing strategy that supports the delivery of the charity’s objectives and activities

● Manage and maintain existing significant partnerships with key funders (trusts, corporates and major donors), identifying new opportunities to deepen and extend relationships where desirable

Westway Trust is seeking a qualified accountant to join as our Head of Finance who will lead on all aspects of the finance function to achieve the Trusts goals.  You will also manage a small team and will offer strategic finance support across the range of activities undertaken by the organisation.

You will have significant experience operating at a senior level within a complex organisation and registered charity, and will possess the right blend and balance of strategic, communication, innovation and people skills.

Key responsibilities of the role include but not limited to:

• Lead, manage and improve the Trust’s finance function and provide accurate, timely and relevant financial reports as required by the CEO, Executive Team and the Trust Board.
• Be the Executive Lead of the Finance Audit and Risk Committee, ensuring timely papers to the CEO and to the Committee and Board as required and liaising with the Head of Governance and HR as required.
• Ensure the provision and reporting of financial accounts, forecasting and large-scale project/programme budgets, estate development plans, and the associated reporting.
• Oversight of the legal and financial statutory processes in line with the Charity Commission and Companies House requirements, including the Annual Audit. Allocating tasks for timely responses and keeping all colleagues abreast of progress.
• Monitor, cash flow, reserves, analysis of performance against the organisation’s annual business plan and dashboard as it relates to the finance function.
• Contribute to the overall leadership of the Trust and to the Trust’s future strategic and operational planning. Support Executive Team colleagues as required on the delivery of cross-team initiatives.
• Line management of the Senior Finance Manager, the Debt Recovery Consultant and the Development Partnerships Lead.

Essential Experience, Skills and Attributes:

• Significant and successful experience of operating as a Head of Finance, ideally in a charity setting.
• A track record of working collaboratively with a team to develop successful internal partnerships and achieve joint success against shared objectives.
• Experience of the finance function and all the associated processes, with strong attention to detail.
• Experience of implementing enhanced reporting tools within financial software, including the ability to coach others.
• Practical knowledge of VAT, including accounting of partial exemption relevant to charities.
• Experience of managing staff and supporting their development.
• Strong interpersonal skills for both workplace and external representation contexts, operating with enthusiasm, flexibility, energy and commitment and demonstrating credibility and gravitas.

We have a strong track record in developing corporate partnerships and delivering against programmatic grants. Working with our Head of Corporate Partnerships, we would see you building on this track record and personally taking the lead on creating and inspiring bigger, better and stronger partnerships.

Account Management/ Stewardship

• Supporting day-to-day stewardship of Hatch’s strategic partners including Pizza Hut, UBS, BlackRock and NatWest.

Head to Toe, the charity of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT), has been awarded a 3-year grant to support patients receiving end of life care. This is a partnership between Head to Toe, CPFT voluntary services,  NHS community nursing teams, and charity end of life volunteering specialists, the Anne Robson Trust.

Working alongside healthcare services, you will co-ordinate a group of compassionate, dedicated volunteers, who will support members of their local community in the last months of life, providing company, comfort and companionship to patients across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.

You may have experience in similar projects, or come from a clinical background, but will understand and champion the role of volunteers in enhancing NHS services and patient experiences. You will be passionate about this type of work, and understand the importance of helping people to have a 'good' death.

The successful candidate will need experience within volunteer administration in addition to excellent organisational, communication and networking skills. Bespoke training will be provided by the Anne Robson Trust, as well as ongoing support to help the post-holder recruit and train volunteers.

The Butterfly Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for the development, implementation, and scale of the Community Butterfly Volunteer Service, which can bring huge benefits to patients, staff, volunteers, and our local communities. You will have day to day responsibility for the recruitment, interview, selection, training and management of Butterfly Volunteers.

The Head of Research and Programmes is a new role, leading and overseeing the delivery of our grant-making activity across eye research and social change: delivering first class grant programmes that respond to need as our organisation scales up. Overseeing our Grant Programmes

· Driving work in areas where our organisation can add value and meet need, including scoping new potential programmes and partnerships as well as ensuring our current programmes evolve
