What the job involves
Prostate Cancer UK are launching the most ambitious fundraising appeal in our history, and we’re looking for a brilliant Appeal Manager to help make it happen. In this role, you’ll be right at the heart of the campaign, working closely with the Head of Appeal to keep everything on track and running smoothly. You’ll coordinate plans, manage timelines and milestones, and help make sure everyone involved knows what’s happening and when.

What we want from you
We’re looking for an Appeal Manager who makes things happen and keeps things moving. You’ll be highly organised, thrive on hitting targets and love the satisfaction of seeing a plan come together. You’re good at managing shifting priorities, recognising what’s most important, and making sure it gets done.
You’ll have experience of working on a major fundraising appeal, capital campaign or within a high-performing fundraising team and know what it takes to deliver brilliant donor experiences. You’ll be comfortable coordinating complex projects with lots of moving parts and stakeholders, keeping everything on track and everyone in the loop.
A sharp eye for detail and a proactive, collaborative approach are essential. You’ll enjoy working across teams, building strong relationships and making sure nothing slips through the net. About us
The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) brings together 15 leading UK aid charities to raise funds quickly and efficiently at times of humanitarian crisis overseas. This role will require you to lead on organic social media as part of the DEC Communications team, working closely with the Digital and Innovation team in Fundraising, collaborate with social leads across our 15 member charities and public figures through our talent agency. During appeal launch periods it will also involve managing a small social media team of volunteers.
All roles at the DEC are based in our London office. We operate a hybrid working model, with some non-negotiable office attendance. An exciting opportunity as an Education Officer is available at the Godinton House Preservation Trust to support the Head of Learning in delivering the educational programme, which focuses on the natural environment and heritage.
The Trust owns and manages a beautiful Jacobean mansion and 12 acres of gardens situated in historic parkland, along with a wider estate that includes farms, woodland, and the River Stour. The current education programme provides meaningful learning experiences for primary school children, local groups, and adults through workshops. These sessions are delivered on-site, making use of the natural environment, an education centre, Godinton House, and the formal gardens.
The Role
The role will include the following elements:
- Supporting the Head of Learning in organising, preparing, and delivering a wide range of educational sessions, mainly for primary school-aged children.
- Developing and coordinating a new programme of adult educational workshops, utilising the estate's diverse resources and heritage.
- Supporting the Head of Learning with administrative duties, such as completing risk assessments, arranging coach bookings, liaising with local schools and education providers, and preparing resources ahead of educational sessions.
The Education Officer will report directly to the Head of Learning and will collaborate with other members of the staff team involved in delivering the programmes.
The Individual
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and creative individual with the following attributes:
- Previous experience working in an educational environment, preferably with primary school children, and a strong enthusiasm for outdoor learning.
- An understanding or appreciation of the natural environment and a willingness to assist in delivering a programme (supported by key staff and external providers) encompassing natural sustainability, biodiversity, conservation, and horticulture.
- Excellent communication skills and an ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The Package

This is a full-time position, working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, on a 9 to 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. The MDP Project Manager will play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of 15 strategically funded parish projects supported by the National Church. Working with the Head of Programmes, Diocesan colleagues, and parish representatives, the Project Manager will oversee planning, budgeting, governance, and reporting processes across the MDP project. This role will be vital in supporting parish leaders and PCCs to lead and deliver their local MDP initiatives effectively.
The successful applicant will be an experienced and highly organised project manager, with excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills. You’ll need to demonstrate the ability to manage risk, track project outcomes, and support change across a variety of contexts. A background in monitoring and evaluation is important, and a desire to serve the mission of the Church will be key to thriving in this role. Experience of working with Church of England structures is desirable but not essential.
