We’re looking for a strategic and driven Senior Philanthropy Manager to lead on some of Macmillan’s highest-value philanthropic relationships. You’ll manage a portfolio of ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families, securing 6- and 7-figure+ gifts that deliver life-changing impact for people living with cancer.

Corporate Partnerships are a key area of growth for Noah’s Ark Fundraising and is pivotal to not just income generation but also brand awareness for the work that we do. The role feeds into our Major Donor and Corporate income streams. Philanthropy & Partnerships is a real area of expertise for Noah’s Ark, with much scope for further growth.
The Corporate Partnerships Manager will work in close collaboration with the Philanthropy & Partnerships Manager and build a cohesive way of working to ensure that we are maximising impact for the charity and its beneficiaries.
Purpose - The Corporate Partnerships Manager works with the Head of Philanthropy & Partnerships, steward existing relationships, and develop a healthy corporate prospects pipeline in order to achieve agreed income targets. The role is also key in delivering our special events and campaigns in collaboration with our Special Events Manager. This includes our annual matched-funding campaign, The Winter Ball and the Noah’s Ark Golf Day – which most recently raised £1m, £400,000 and £104,000 respectively.

What the job involves
We're on the lookout for a motivated Direct Marketing professional to bring their skills to our Individual Giving Team, with a focus on retention campaigns.
Direct Marketing plays an important role in the Charity’s fundraising and overall corporate strategy. We’re looking for a confident and proactive fundraiser to take responsibility for the delivery and ongoing development of our current retention programme.
You’ll deliver timely, targeted, relevant communications to our warm audiences; newly recruited and existing cash supporters and regular givers with the aim of strengthening loyalty and increasing their lifetime value.
With internal and external stakeholders, you’ll project manage existing direct marketing campaigns in the form of direct mail appeals, emails, telemarketing and occasional stewardship events. You’ll consistently analyse KPIs and make evidence-based decisions to help assist with growing the programme and delivering our overall financial target.
What we want from you
Aside from excellent knowledge and experience of working in a direct marketing environment, which includes developing and implementing retention focused direct marketing campaigns, you’ll also have a range of channel experience and marketing knowledge.
You’ll possess first class communication skills, a strong team ethic and you’ll be at ease working with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. The ability to manage budgets and projects is also essential, along with proven knowledge of data protection and sector compliance. Knowledge of direct marking and fundraising law would be advantageous.

Supporting over 750 children and nearly 1,000 families annually, Acorns Children’s Hospice is a vital lifeline for families across the West Midlands and Gloucestershire during unimaginably difficult times.
Palliative care for children aged 0–18 is delivered at Acorns’ hospices in Birmingham, Worcester and Walsall, as well as in family homes and other community settings. Acorns’ holistic, tailored approach is designed to meet each child’s clinical, emotional, cultural, religious, and spiritual needs.

About the opportunity
As an Event Content Manager, you will conduct exciting public policy research, work with the most senior speakers from across government, business, universities and civil society speaker management, and create engaging content.
You would take ownership of a portfolio of 40+ briefings, roundtables, workshops and senior level dinners per year across themes impacting economic growth and prosperity including: infrastructure, skills, net zero, AI and new technology, trade, and regulation.
Your mandate is to deliver high-quality, high-impact events, where you will be required to research key policy and economic trends affecting government, business and society, owning the full production life cycle from policy research and agenda setting to speaker acquisition and management etc. You will also collaborate with the marketing and membership functions to ensure that our policy focus for your events programme aligns with membership needs and shifting priorities.
This role is critical to our membership offer – all our events are highly respected and supported by the organisations membership base and will require a strategic thinker who can ensure that the right policy research is carried out to inform event idea validation. The role will be supported by the Event Operations team who will drive on-the-day logistics.
Responsibilities
Event content development
- Lead the content development and planning of your events programme across our themes, this includes:
- Build compelling agendas
- Craft key event outcomes
- Curate engaging and thoughtful speaker briefings
- Identify and acquire credible, expert speakers
- Identify and draw in relevant audiences
- Conduct research on key policy and economic trends affecting sectors across our membership base including market and policy trend analysis, collecting feedback from our members including stakeholder interviews and surveying to inform your event programme.
- Lead the collaboration across internal teams to recommend and develop effective marketing and communication materials to promote the events programme such as landing pages, eNewsletter segments, and promotional campaigns, taking ownership of all event programme deliverables under your remit.
High-impact delivery
- Take an outcome-based approach to your events programme; looking with a strategic lens to determine what the optimal events format, venue, and host would be to drive high-level dialogue among cross-sector leaders.
- Design, develop and deliver event content that you will be able to use to generate insightful event write-ups and summaries so we can continue to add tangible value to our members and their sector challenges.

Community Alcohol Partnerships (CAP) is looking to engage the services of a results-oriented consultant with great people skills to set up CAP projects in high harm areas.
About Us
CAP sets up and supports local partnerships that aim to reduce alcohol harm in children and young people, improve their health and well-being and enhance their communities. Our mission is to create an alcohol-free childhood for all children and young people.
Role Overview
The successful applicant will have a track record of building effective partnerships, the people and communication skills to involve and engage a wide range of local stakeholders and the leadership and project management skills to support projects through each phase of their lifecycle including baseline evaluation, action plan delivery, post intervention evaluation and maintenance/sustainment. After a short familiarisation period the successful applicant will be expected to oversee fast-track development of new CAPs in priority areas and take responsibility for all aspects of their management with minimal supervision.
A key requisite of the role will be the ability to forge effective public/private sector partnerships between statutory agencies, schools, youth charities and retailers following the CAP model and evaluation framework. The successful applicant may come from a police, public health, education, local authority or other relevant background.
Key Responsibilities
· Proactively identify opportunities for new CAPs and facilitate set up of new CAPs in priority areas.
· Ensure that all new CAP projects carry out appropriate and timely interventions and evaluate all activity in line with the CAP evaluation toolkit – including a baseline and post intervention evaluation.
· Raise the profile of CAPs in the North East of England and ensure that their impact is recognised by key stakeholders.
Specific duties to include the following:
o Represent CAP at all operational meetings.
o Ensure that Retail of Alcohol Standards Group (RASG) member companies play a full delivery role in each CAP where they operate as businesses.
o Liaise as appropriate with strategic leads within local enforcement authorities and other partner organisations to initiate and complete agreed actions.
o Encourage all projects to achieve positive local media coverage including via social media and regional news/broadcast media.
o Ensure that all projects carry out as a minimum a baseline (pre-CAP) evaluation and post intervention evaluation following the CAP evaluation framework and project management survey tools.
o Produce a monthly progress report on all schemes and pipeline activity.
o Attend and participate in regular CAP update meetings on Microsoft teams (x12 pa).
o Assist with event planning and profile-raising opportunities such as MP visits to CAP projects.
Skills, attributes and experience
- Essential to the role will be the ability to persuade key stakeholders at local and national level of the need to address underage drinking problems and to facilitate effective and dynamic local partnerships involving any/all of the following sectors: local authorities, education, child protection, social services, public health, police, retailers and licensing.

Remuneration: Consultancy fee of £320 per day depending on experience. Work will depend on ability to generate interest in setting up new CAPs but we anticipate as a guideline engaging a minimum of 3 days of consultancy per week. We are looking for an organised, proactive and creative Events and engagement manager to join our team on a 12 month part time 0.8 FTE contract.
You will lead our core events programme. You will manage in-person and online events, liaise with speakers and attendees, prepare briefings and promotional materials, ensuring all events are delivered efficiently, on budget and in line with our environmental standards.
You will also manage internal staff events, monitor and evaluate event outcomes and manage our contacts database, maintaining accuracy and GDPR compliance. This is a varied role requiring strong organisational, logistical and administrative skills, combined with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Position in the Organisation
The post holder reports to the head of communications and works in consultation with senior management and the policy and politics team on event planning. The position sits within the communications team, comprised of the head of communications, press officer, two communications officers and the events assistant. They rely on additional support from the events assistant and our team of trainees in preparing events, as well as the full staff team, who represent us at events.
Key tasks and responsibilities
Events management:
- Manage and curate Green Alliance core events programme, assist staff as required on their specialist events and be the first point of contact for all event enquiries.
- Target relevant audiences and manage invitee and attendee lists, liaise with speakers and produce briefings and promotional material as necessary.
- Liaise with venues, arranging catering and other event services within budget.
- Oversee all the technical and logistical tasks relating to online events, including generating links and managing reminders, hosting Zoom webinars, welcoming and briefing participants, troubleshooting throughout events, and editing and uploading recordings to YouTube.
- Monitor and evaluate event outcomes in line with organisational and project objectives; gather information and feedback the analysis to staff and board, including invitation uptake and audience profiling.
- Ensure events meet Green Alliance’s environmental criteria and are organised according to best value principles.
- Manage events on the day, including directing staff roles in advance of and during the event, and oversee all technical aspects of online webinars, roundtable discussions and seminars.
- Organise internal staff events with the events assistant, including the Christmas party, strategy away days and other internal learning events, such as our lunchtime seminar series.
Database management:
- Manage the contacts database, ensuring it is up to date and accurate.
- Support staff on how to use the database and maintain protocols to ensure ongoing data integrity.
- Keep abreast of GDPR in relation to events and database management.
Other:
- Line manage the events assistant.
- Hold a company credit card.
- Provide any other support which may reasonably be requested to be undertaken within the scope of this post.

The Role

As our new Community Heat and Energy Project Manager, you’ll play a key role in delivering our major new community heat and energy workstrand. You’ll work with local communities and expert research partners to move forward local renewable energy projects which help power clean heat solutions at three different sites in England, as well as developing ways to remove barriers to delivering this type of project, such as supplying energy locally and matching supply and demand.
