More about the role 

Reporting to the Head of Individual Giving, you’ll lead a small, dedicated team to deliver compelling campaigns and stewardship communications across multiple channels – including direct mail, email and phone. 

You’ll be responsible for managing a wide range of donor development activities. These include planning and delivering cash and raffle appeals, and driving cross-sell initiatives such as converting one-off cash donors into regular givers. Your team will also be key to delivering projects such as Gift Aid stewardship, regular giving upgrades, and reactivation efforts. 

A central part of the role will be managing the production and distribution of our supporter communications. You’ll collaborate closely with colleagues across the organisation and external agencies to ensure we provide a consistently excellent experience for our supporters, while maximising income and long-term engagement. 

You’ll bring strategic thinking, creativity and a strong results focus to shape and grow our donor retention and development efforts, ultimately helping us raise more funds to support the pets and people who rely on our services. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Work with the Head of Individual Giving to develop and deliver a strategic business plan and budget for Donor Development, including milestones, KPIs and income targets. 

• Lead a wide portfolio of multichannel campaigns with a focus on cash and raffle appeals, and wider supporter communications (including RG upgrades/conversions and Gift Aid). 

• Manage stewardship activities, including ‘thank you’ and update communications. 

• Collaborate with your Direct Marketing Manager colleagues in the Individual Giving team to improve supporter engagement and retention, including enhancing regular giving products and materials. 

• Ensure all activity aligns with Blue Cross brand guidelines and values. 

• Build strong internal and external relationships to deliver effective, insight-driven campaigns. 

• Champion continuous improvement by applying best practice to campaign planning, delivery and analysis. 

• Line-manage the Donor Development Officer and Assistant, supporting their performance, goals and development. 

• Monitor and control income and expenditure, providing regular budget forecasts. 

• Work cross-functionally with teams such as Data and Insights, Fulfilment Services and Customer Care to maximise supporter lifetime value. 

About you:  

You’re an experienced and results-driven direct or digital marketer and/or fundraiser, with a strong understanding of supporter motivations and a passion for delivering excellent supporter experiences. You bring a strategic mindset, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple campaigns in a fast-paced environment. 

You’re confident working to financial targets, optimising budgets, and using insight to drive innovation and continual improvement. A skilled project manager, you’re comfortable juggling priorities and deadlines, while ensuring quality and performance stay high. 

Your strong communication and interpersonal skills make you a collaborative team player and effective line manager. You build positive relationships across teams and with external partners to deliver ambitious goals. 

Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience 

• Proven experience in Direct or Digital Marketing and/or Fundraising (client or agency side) 

• Strong track record in managing agencies and budgets 

• Demonstrable success in delivering income growth and supporter engagement

• Good working knowledge of GDPR and fundraising legislation 

• Skilled in using CRM databases, with proficiency in Word and Excel

The role

The Events Producer provides a key role in supporting the planning and delivery of the British Academy’s year-round events programmes, which take place in London, across the UK and online. This includes public events (themed seasons, lates, performances, book prize events and festival sponsorships), academic events (lectures, conferences, academic prizes & medals), and public engagement (Summer Showcase, SHAPE Involve and Engage).

The role holder will work closely with other members of the Events Team and the wider Communications Department. You will work directly with the Head of Events and three Events Managers to deliver events at our historic home in London, at partner venues across the UK, and online.

Working closely with the Product & Innovation Manager, you will play a key role in delivering the fundraising strategy, leading on the delivery of our individual giving and legacy marketing campaigns across a range of channels. Key Responsibilities:

Income generation

• Play a key role in the implementation and delivery of the individual giving and legacy marketing strategy
• Support the growth of individual giving income in line with annual targets
• Develop and deliver regular cash and legacy marketing appeals to a high level, including:
  • Developing propositions and cases for support
  • Create compelling direct marketing materials, including writing persuasive copy and developing strong creative content
  • Project management to ensure delivery on schedule and within budget
  • Managing relationships with agencies and suppliers including design and print
• Manage a portfolio of affiliate fundraising campaigns

Donor stewardship

• Ensure the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system is used effectively to facilitate accurate supporter stewardship and reporting
• Effectively manage communications with supporters, including ensuring that donations are thanked appropriately, managing fundraising inboxes, and responding to queries
• Working with the Production & Innovation Manager, identify a pipeline of potential mid- and high-value donors for stewardship and conversion

Data and reporting

• Produce campaign and programme level reporting and analysis
• Work closely with the data team to ensure selections are accurate, timely and relevant to our various audiences, and use income data to make recommendations for future campaigns
• Maintain accurate, up to date and compliant records of individual giving campaigns and appeals
• Provide regular financial reports and reforecasts to the Product & Innovation Manager and Head of Fundraising

Relationships

• Build strong working relationships with staff within various functions of the Ramblers
• Work with other members of the Fundraising, Communications and Supporter Care teams to ensure that all supporter communications are part of an integrated supporter journey

The Person

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:

• Experience working within a target-driven fundraising or direct marketing team, ideally within an individual giving context
• Experience of managing fundraising or marketing projects across a range of channels, such as direct mail, social media and email
• Experience of data-driven marketing campaigns, including segmentation and campaign analysis to meet objectives
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to tailor communications to a wide range of audiences
• Excellent creative skills, including the ability to write compelling, accurate and persuasive copy across a range of channels
• Competent in the use of IT tools including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience of working with CRM systems

Desirable:

• Experience of working with the Salesforce CRM
• Experience of legacy marketing, or an understanding of charity legacy giving

And will act as a daily point of contact between the Grant administrator & the Trust, ensuring the Head of Services is appropriately updated. 

• Build strong, transparent, appropriate relationships with British Gas and Centrica, and act as a liaison on a day-to-day basis with project teams.

• Identify, recognize & respond to issues or opportunities as they arise. 

Direct grant scheme: Debt Write Off & Financial Assistance Payments, White Goods & Money Advice - administration & monitoring:

• Support the Head of Services with the debt write off and all programmes including working with Third party contractors as appropriate.

• Work with the Head of Services to build strong relationships with Third Party administrator(s).

• Work closely with British Gas & other third-party contractors to understand their operational process for vulnerable customers, applications and referrals as well as any dependencies.

• Support BGET’s understanding of money and advice sector across England, Scotland and Wales, including sharing policy knowledge and sector developments within the 3 nations.
• Contribute to new initiatives with British Gas and grant giving programmes.

· Support the effective management of the Trust’s grant programmes across England, Scotland and Wales, including:

• Build & manage positive relationships with the grant assessment team and British Gas internal teams. 

• Providing appropriate support to ensure the direct grant programme runs efficiently and effectively, with grant funding distributed to budget and schedule.

• Undertaking both face to face and virtual monitoring visits of the helpline and application portal and assessment teams – including ongoing KPI and impact evaluation process, creating comprehensive follow-up reports including end of grant reports.

Reporting & Contract Management:

• Ensure all data collection aligned to current Data Protection regulations and use and storage of data is in line with the Trust’s own policies and provide reassurance to the Head of Services.

• Ensure accurate data is in place for year-end reporting, quarterly and including assisting Head of Services with quarterly and End of Year Board reporting.

 Reporting & Contract Management: 

• Identify risks to delivery and work with the grant administrator to help resolve any challenges with delivery that impact on the grant obligations.

• To work with internal and external monitoring and evaluation specialists, to gain impact and understanding of the effect of our funding schemes.

Knowledge Sharing

• Identify and develop opportunities to work collaboratively and share learning.

• Ensure case studies and other content is collated from grant recipients to share through our channels.

Please note the employee will be required to undertake any reasonable work or task requested by the Trust, this will include occasional travel, potentially overnight, in England, Scotland and Wales.

The post holder will be a member of the Operations Team and will be required to work closely with colleagues across the Foundation.

Purpose of Job

To provide comprehensive administrative support to the Operations Team at the Foundation, with a focus on maintaining accurate records, coordinating administrative processes and database management, supporting financial operations, and ensuring the smooth running of the office.
This role is essential to the delivery of the Achievement Award Scheme and other JPF grants and programmes.

Main Areas of Responsibility:
The Operations and Database Administrator will be responsible for supporting the Operations Team.

The primary duties are:

1. Administrative support for JPF’s Achievement Award Scheme and other associated grant programmes
1.1 Support the Operations Officer to prepare and send Achievement Award (AA) materials to all new joiners and organise the general AA mailouts twice a year.
1.2 Manage the JPF general email accounts ensuring that all emails/correspondence are forwarded to the relevant staff member.

2. Database and information management
2.1 Maintain accurate records on JPF systems, particularly the Salesforce database.
2.2 Support the Operations Officer to run periodic data checks on the database and correct identified errors.
2.3 Generate lists and reports from Salesforce, as required, deleting those that are no longer required.
2.4 Assist the Operations Officer with other database tasks e.g. setting up and amending other grant processes in our database such as online application forms, report forms, requirements from grantees, amending email templates, setting up automations, etc.
2.5 Support Head of Operations with maintaining up-to-date organisational policies and procedures.
 

3. Finance and payment support
3.1 Process weekly payments under the guidance of the Finance and Operations Manager.
3.2 Reconcile company credit cards for senior management approval.
3.3 Ensure that bank details for organisations are correct within Salesforce.
3.4 Respond to general finance enquiries and support the Grants Officers recording returned payments accurately.

4. Programme administration
4.1 Assist in the administration of the Internship Programme, other partnerships, IGFV or Open Grants programmes as required.
4.2 Ensure accurate records of all grant applications and reports for all programmes.
4.3 Lead the coordination and distribution of partner programme materials to JPF partners ahead of the academic year.
4.4 Maintain stock control of all JPF AA materials, advising the Finance and Operations Manager when stock requires replenishment.

5. General IT and administrative duties
5.1 Liaise with JPF’s IT providers to ensure seamless IT support for staff and onboarding/offboarding processes.
5.2 Maintain sufficient office cover and manage staff attendance using the Microsoft Teams calendar.
5.3 Distribute daily post and manage general incoming communications efficiently and update contact information in Salesforce.
5.4 Maintain a tidy and well-functioning office environment, including shared spaces and meeting spaces.
5.5 Organise refreshments and ensure room set-up, including technology requirements, for meetings and events as required.
5.6 Arrange for staff photos to be updated on the staff noticeboard and JPF website.
5.7 Complete stationery orders and ensuring that supplies are maintained.
5.8 Maintain inventory of AA and LA medallions and coordinate reorders with the Events Team.
5.9 Oversee the circulation of staff birthday cards, collections and staff celebrations where required.

6. HR and onboarding support
6.1 Support recruitment administration and onboarding processes, including office set up for new staff.
6.2 Lead induction and office set up for work experience placements and other volunteers or contractors.
6.3 Maintain the JPF telephone directory, ensuring staff mobile numbers are current and accurate.
6.4 Administer DBS checks for new staff as required.
6.5 Monitor Cyber Security Training completion and report non-compliance.
6.6 Purchase the weekly supply of fruit, milk, coffee, tea and other supplies for the JPF kitchen.

7. Other Responsibilities
7.1 Attend and actively contribute to Operations and wider JPF Team meetings.
7.2 Provide telephone and email support to enquirers on JPF funding streams.
7.3 Adhere to the Foundation’s policies and procedures, including Safeguarding, Health and Safety, Data Protection, and Publicity Consent.
7.4 Provide cover for reception as required.
