We are looking for a dynamic and people-focused Community Fundraiser to join our team. You will engage with individuals, schools, local businesses, groups, and volunteers to inspire and grow support for the charity at a grassroots level.

Key Responsibilities
· Fundraising & Engagement
o Build, develop, and manage relationships with community supporters including individual giving, schools, local clubs, faith groups, and small businesses.

o Work with the communications team to promote community fundraising stories, activities, and events through social media, newsletters, and local press.
o Support creation of fundraising packs and stewardship materials tailored to different community audiences.

o Set, track, and meet agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including fundraising targets, supporter retention, and event participation.
o Maintain accurate records of community activity, income, and relationships in the charity’s CRM system.

Person Specification
Essential:
· Experience in community fundraising, event management, volunteer coordination, or a similar supporter-facing role.
· Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport quickly and inspire action.
· Strong organisational and time management skills; able to prioritise and work on multiple projects.
· Confident communicator with public speaking experience and a positive, proactive approach.
· Willingness to travel regularly for meetings and events
Desirable:
· Knowledge of community fundraising trends and techniques.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
General
- Research and submit compelling proposals and applications for high-value grants and donations (5+ figures) to secure income and support long-term sustainability.
- Prospect research of new funders and partners capable of supporting Back Up’s work.
- Provide timely, accurate reports and updates to funders showing the impact of funded work.
- Delivering an effective stewardship programme to engage and thank funders, working closely with the partnerships team to inspire our donors
- Maximise opportunities through Back Up’s networks, including the fundraising team, services staff, SMT, development board, board of trustees and volunteer networks.
- Managing multi-year budgets and ensure accurate forecasting, monitoring and evaluating performance to meet agreed targets.
- Support the maintenance and development of internal systems to manage restricted income and effective data flow and quality to support delivery of the Trusts and Foundations Strategy

Part of a thriving Income Generation department, our Individual Giving team consists of three programmes - Supporter Acquisition (including Supporter Engagement), Direct Dialogue and Supporter Retention and Development. About the role
This pivotal role will see you help deliver the Individual Giving (IG) and Retention strategies, working with colleagues across teams in IG to increase lifetime value of cash, regular giving and lottery supporters and collaborating with peers and Heads of team. You’ll work with the Senior Direct Marketing Manager – Supporter Engagement to lead on the delivery and development of the early retention programme which integrates acquisition and retention, and other exciting campaigns and projects, aimed at acquiring, retaining and engaging our supporters and stewarding them across their supporter journey with Shelter. About the role
This is a fixed-term opportunity for an experienced Charity Shop Manager to join our team at our Exeter-based charity.
This new role will combine providing support and/or absence cover to our existing shops, along with getting involved in other opportunities for growth and development across the retail team (e.g. volunteering). Working in the shops may involve working to support the shop manager, or stepping in for them at short notice (and quickly getting to grips with their shop, processes, staff, volunteers and customers). About the team
The Philanthropy Team raises income for Impetus and for Impetus partner charities. The team consists of 16 staff. Impetus has an annual income of £10 million, which we are looking to grow to £12–£14 million within the next few years. The team is led by the Director of Philanthropy and Partnerships.
The Philanthropy Team works with major donors, corporates and grant-making trusts, as well as collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to ensure we make a compelling case to generate new financial commitments and wider support for our work. The team also delivers a high-quality engagement programme of volunteering and pro bono support for Impetus’s corporate partners.
In addition to our direct grants, we have several themed funds that support specific areas of our work, currently Connect and Engage, with plans to launch Skills and Attainment. An important part of this role is working closely with the Investment team to shape compelling cases for each fund, and with the Philanthropy team to connect them with the most suitable donors.

About this role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic Philanthropy Team as an interim Events Officer. The successful candidate will be a highly organised individual who has a positive, can-do attitude, who enjoys working independently and as part of a team.
Impetus has a successful annual programme of fundraising and cultivation events including the Transforming Lives Dinner, the Impetus Triathlon and Impetus Future Party. We are looking for an Events Officer to support our programme of events, while also working creatively to innovate and improve our practices.
Reporting to the Head of Events, the Events Officer is an integral part of the Impetus team, supporting our calendar of fundraising and engagement events.
The Events Officer will be involved in all aspects of events management such liaising with venues and suppliers (catering, production, design), working with sponsors, event marketing, guest management and finance tracking. This is a role that will allow the postholder to take a high level of ownership for the sections assigned to them.

Event Delivery

A part-time role developing, curating, delivering and finessing training for two distinct audiences – training for those who have low digital confidence, as well as young people, in how to use digital devices effectively and efficiently; and also training for those who may come into contact with, or wish to learn about, digital poverty, including staff of corporates and community providers.
The former audience – learning about digital skills – will need to gain knowledge and understanding about the foundational elements of using laptops, tablets and smartphones. This includes Essential Digital Skills such as setting passwords, connecting to Wi-Fi and using keyboards, as well as soft skills such as staying safe online, critical thinking and recognising fake news or AI generated imagery.
The latter audience – learning about digital poverty – will need to learn about the causes and impacts of digital poverty, what impact digital exclusion has on families and communities, and how to understand if someone is digitally included.
There may be other training requirements as well – such as training external users of our systems, training corporate volunteers, or a train-the-train model of supporting young people to work with those in their communities.
Key responsibilities
- Work with CEO and SMT to gain a strong understanding of the content we wish to deliver.
- Design a range of standardised training materials, developing curriculum plans, which are able to be tailored easily for cohorts.
- Work with the Head of Development to ensure training meets the needs of potential partners.

Reporting to the Deputy Head of Region, you’ll collaborate with talented fundraising professionals to inspire individuals and groups to achieve their goals, ensuring their efforts make a lasting impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and nurture a network of fundraising groups and volunteers
- Deliver local elements of national campaigns, including The Great Daffodil Appeal
- Grow community involvement and financial support through outreach
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with fundraising policies and maintain accurate records
- Ese of social media to promote local work
- Actively committed to Marie Curie’s values, role models behaviours with authenticity and purpose.
What You’ll Need
- Proven experience in volunteer or community engagement
- Excellent interpersonal and networking skills
- Strong organisational and budget management abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management
- A valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel, including evenings and weekends

As The Childhood Trust’s Volunteer Manager, you’ll be responsible for volunteers across the organisation.
Your role will include oversight of the corporate and community volunteers who take part in our Transforming Spaces programme. You will work closely with colleagues in the fundraising team to create a positive and inspiring experience for corporate volunteers.
Key to this role will be working with the Head of Volunteering and Community Programmes to embed volunteering across The Childhood Trust. You will lead on developing a diverse and inclusive volunteer base of skilled and specialist individual volunteers, fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment where they feel valued and connected to the mission.
