Overview

The newly appointed Data Analyst will lead the development of the ministry’s data collection and analysis function. You will be a key element in ensuring we have the right data, at the right time, with the right people who have the right understanding.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain our data model to gain insight and understanding into the ministry’s performance.

• Provide expert data insights to inform evidence-based decision making.

About the role

We are seeking a technically capable, qualified accountant with strong knowledge of the Charities SORP to provide effective stewardship and oversight of the Finance function at Kinship. You will be responsible for financial controls, management accounting and ensuring the effective delivery of ‘business as usual’ financial management.

As well as producing monthly management accounts, you will be responsible for running the annual budget and the year-end processes, preparing for the yearly external audit and ensuring that the organisation complies with statutory obligations.

You will prepare papers for and attend the quarterly Finance Committee meetings and will liaise with a range of stakeholders including auditors, the bank and investment managers.  You will be the ‘go to’ business partner at the charity, supported by the Chief Operating Officer and Fractional Chief Financial Officer.

You will manage a team of two colleagues – a Senior Finance Officer and a Payroll Manager – providing them with guidance, coaching and support to enable them to perform effectively. You will also collaborate and work with Directors and senior managers across the organisation to inform them on performance against budget and conditions of funding, as well as supporting fundraising and commissioning bids. 

You will have excellent communication skills and will be able to organise conflicting priorities around the monthly management accounts cycle, while supporting the achievement of our strategic objectives. You will be flexible and adaptable in your approach to supporting transformational change in our processes and systems, as well as dealing with, and leading on, the day-to-day financial management. 

This is a broad and challenging role for a dynamic and systems-driven individual who wants to grow within the organisation, proactively problem solve and help colleagues to deliver on our mission.

Essential requirements include:

• Fully qualified ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
• In-depth understanding of accounting principles, standards and the Charities SORP, and experience of applying these in a service delivery organisation
• Experience managing a Finance function in a charity with £1-10m annual turnover
• Experience of line management and developing a team using approaches that are empowering
• Experience of Business Central, or the ability to quickly learn a new accounting system
• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to use Pivot Tables and other functions to analyse large data sets

Are you passionate about using data to create change for children and young people in education? We are looking for a Data and Insights Manager to lead the ongoing development of our Salesforce CRM and help us make the most of our data to achieve our charity mission.

At Action Tutoring, data is central to everything we do. With an evidence-based culture and impact at the centre of our strategy, gathering and analysing high-quality data is a key priority.

Our highly customised Salesforce database supports every aspect of our work—capturing and managing data from volunteers, pupils, schools, and tutoring sessions. As Data and Insights Manager, you will make sure our system remains fit for purpose and help turn data into meaningful insights that can inform decision-making.

Duties and responsibilities 

Salesforce and systems development

• Collaborate with external Salesforce development consultants to continue building our system capabilities and design.
• Design and oversee the collection of stakeholder, tutoring delivery, quality assurance and evaluation data, working with colleagues to ensure data is collected in a timely, accurate and consistent manner.

Team leadership and support

• Line manage the Data Lead, ensuring their work is of high quality and they have clear development objectives.
• Plan and oversee training and support for the whole organisation on the effective use of Salesforce, developing their understanding of the purpose and value of data.

Data insights

• Support the Head of Impact and Quality to generate insights from data to inform evidence-based decision-making across departments, including through dashboards.

• Data governance

• Champion data security and GDPR compliance across the organisation, including contributing to the upkeep of privacy notices, responding to queries, and facilitating stakeholder GDPR rights.

Qualifications criteria:

We are looking for a self-motivated and results driven Head of Finance and Administration to join World Horse Welfare in a newly created role reporting to the Director of Finance, IT & Administration, line managing three members of the Finance and Administration team.

In this vital role, you will ensure strong financial controls across all areas of the charity, manage income and expenditure, and lead on statutory accounts preparation, payroll, VAT, pensions, and tax compliance. As a key business partner, you will work closely with budget holders of all levels, providing data and analysis on the performance of charity operations, including the four Visitor Centres, to ensure excellent financial foresight and planning, as well as enabling the senior leadership team to make timely strategic decisions. You’ll also oversee governance responsibilities such as annual statutory filings, insurance, fleet management and reporting on the annual carbon footprint.

We are looking for a qualified accountant who has experience of charity finance at a similar level, an in depth understanding of charity VAT and experience running in-house payroll processes. You will have the ability to explain financial information and produce financial reports for a wide variety of audiences. High level of IT skills particularly around data manipulation and Microsoft Excel is essential. As a line manager to three members of staff, you’ll have previous experience in managing a team in a supportive and effective manner. Experience of a retail environment, familiarity with fundraising methods and regulations, and experience of finance system implementation is highly desirable.

The role is based in Norfolk and is currently a hybrid split of 2 days in our head office in Snetterton and 3 days at home. You may be required to attend events around the UK so the ability to travel occasionally is necessary.

JOB PURPOSE 

Reporting to the Director of People, the Head of People Services is responsible for leading the delivery of a quality and customer focused core people service to MSF UK. The post holder leads on all operational aspects of the People department (with the exception of employee relations), including all recruitment, core people and payroll processes, administration, systems, data and reporting. 

Key duties areas follows: 

• Lead, motivate and develop the People Services team towards our goal of providing a seamless and customer focused people service. 
• Encourage and develop the team’s interaction and collaboration across MSF UK to support high standards of service delivery and continuous improvement, with a focus on recruitment as the priority, ensuring that a workforce plan is in place for recruitment activity. 
• Project-manage the development and implementation of efficient, effective, customer focused end-to-end recruitment and onboarding processes for MSF UK office and hosted contracts, including the introduction of the new ATS. 
• Work with the Head of Employee Relations to update People Services’ policies and ensure people policy updates are embedded as documented procedures. 
• Lead the production of people reporting statistics; analysing information and producing draft reports for the CoDir, Remuneration Committee and Board. Ensure that the information provided enables managers and the Board to make decisions. 
• Lead the team to ensuretheefficientprovisionofpayandbenefitsadministrationtoensurepayrollaccuracy and compliance with legislation, and lead the implementation of the annual pay review and periodic salary benchmarking. 
• Lead on external relationships and ensure contracts are in place that support the effective running of the People department. Responsible for the management, renewal and procurement of external supplier contracts. 
• Ensure effective data security, DPA and FOI systems are in place and are monitored. 
• Provideaskeletonservicefornon-employeese.g.contractors,secondmentsetc. 
• Projects and continuous improvement initiatives for People Services or cross-functional, aligned to the people department plan.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE 

1. MCIPD qualified (level 7) or an equivalent level of professional knowledge and experience gained through demonstrable significant experience working in People functions across recruitment, core people services and payroll. 
2. Evidence of skills and experience in developing and implementing efficient Recruitment and core People systems and processes that are efficient, legally compliant, represent value for money, and meet customers’ needs.
3. Process improvement methodology training and/or significant experience creating new and updating people processes and procedures. 
4. Evidence of delivering change and improvement using project management skills and techniques. 
5. Proven experience of creating a high-performance culture, leading an effective People Services team and motivating, developing and performance managing individuals. 
6. Demonstrable knowledge of best practice in People Services and relevant UK employment legislation. 
7. The ability to use data from a wide range of sources to analyse key themes and the potential impact on an organisation. 
8. Evidence of developing excellent working relationships at all levels of an organisation, instilling confidence and credibility when dealing with sensitive, challenging and difficult situations. 
9. Evidence of connecting effectively with key stakeholders, manoeuvring through organisational dynamics and influencing organisational culture. 
10. Demonstrable commitment to the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion and their practical application and integration in the work environment. 
11. Fluency in written and spoken English. 
12. Commitment to the aims and values of Médecins Sans Frontières. 
13. Experience in the practical use of personal IT equipment and Microsoft Office 365 suite. The ability to effectively collaborate and communicate within a hybrid working environment utilising Teams, SharePoint, One Drive and Yammer

To perform this role, you’ll need the following skills:

Technical operational MEL

• Deep expertise in monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) methodologies, frameworks, and global best practices.
• Advanced skills in results-based MEL design, including theory of change, indicator development, baseline assessments, impact measurement, and logframe development.
• Strong quantitative and qualitative data analysis skills, with experience extracting insights from large datasets (e.g., DHS, PMA), and translating findings into actionable recommendations for diverse audiences.
• Proficient in statistical software (e.g., STATA, R) and Excel, with applied experience in techniques such as Interrupted Time Series Analysis and multilevel regression.
• Skilled in using MEL platforms, digital data collection tools, and data management systems to ensure efficient and high-quality data capture and reporting.

 Sector expertise

• Deep knowledge in sexual and reproductive health programming/women’s health
• Understanding of complex programme delivery across multiple channels (clinical services, digital health, advocacy etc. )
• Knowledge of proposal development processes and MEL component design for competitive funding

Strategic analysis & Communication

• Proven ability to distil complex data into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership and country programme teams.
• Strong analytical thinking, with the ability to identify trends, patterns, and their strategic implications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, adept at tailoring messages for technical, operational, and executive audiences.

Strong project management

• Strong coordination and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent deliverables and effectively prioritise a dynamic workload.

• Skilled in institutionalising knowledge through repositories, evidence libraries, and learning platforms.
• Proven ability to facilitate cross-programme learning exchanges, communities of practice, and peer learning networks.
• Experienced in developing practical learning products—such as case studies, practice briefs, and toolkits—that drive programme improvement.
• Strong understanding of adult learning principles and ability to design effective knowledge transfer and capacity-building mechanisms.

Team Leadership & capacity development

To perform this role, you’ll need the following experience:

• Minimum of 8 years' experience leading evidence generation in global health—with strong insight into service delivery and programme implementation.
• Proven ability to lead high-performing teams and manage complex, multi-country research initiatives and strategic partnerships, ensuring methodological rigour and relevance.
• Recognised thought leader, with a track record of evidence dissemination, donor engagement, and influencing global SRHR discourse.
• Strong background in team and project management, including budgeting, delivering high-quality outputs under pressure, and meeting tight deadlines.
• Demonstrated experience in building institutional knowledge systems—such as evidence libraries, learning platforms, and embedded learning practices.
• Skilled in moderating virtual and in-person communities of practice and facilitating knowledge-sharing environments.

Formal education/qualification

• Advanced degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, or related fields is essential.
• Additional qualification or formal training in research design or impact evaluation desirable
• Proficiency in French is highly desirable (please state level in application)
• Additional qualification or formal training in research design, epidemiology or impact evaluation, data visualisation such as PowerBI; advanced excel skills - desirable

Salary: £46,000 - £59,600 per annum for UK based candidates. Discretionary bonus + benefits.
