We have two exciting new opportunities for those with a passion for racial justice, equality and inclusion to join our Diocesan staff team, as we seek to live out our commitment to racial justice.
- Racial Justice Development Officer
- Racial Justice Training and Resources Officer
Almost 40% of our churches are attended by a majority of UKME/GMH congregations and a large proportion of the pupils in our schools also come from ethnically diverse backgrounds. We recognise, celebrate, and embrace this diversity, committing to an integrated Diocesan approach to racial justice, as reflected in our Diocesan Vision, and prioritising and supporting healing and reconciliation in our communities.
In 2021 we launched the Diocese of Southwark’s Anti Racism Charter (ARC) which builds on earlier work in the Diocese and developed a subsequent 12-point plan to embed the ARC in real action.
We have worked hard to embed the ARC into our Diocesan vision and our management oversight structures and are now focusing even more intentionally on our recruitment, training and education challenges in our parishes and in the communities they serve. We have two new roles to help us on our journey:
These are great opportunities for someone to make a real difference to the work and progress of the Diocese, and more widely the National Church, in advancing in the area of racial justice for all.
For further information, and to apply for these posts, please visit the Diocese of Southwark section of the Church of England Pathways job site

Your first priority will be to oversee delivery of the Department for Education national Peer Support Service contract in England. You will lead the development of our hub and spoke model, with an enhanced offer of national resources and support together with a continued focus on on-the-ground support for kinship carers to set up and sustain a network of peer support groups. We’re taking an integrated approach to our services, so you’ll collaborate well across teams to ensure that support groups and their leaders have easy access to high quality advice, information and training. The team will need to work closely with colleagues delivering our new training and support contract, funded by the Department for Education.

This is the first opportunity to demonstrate your experience and to stand out in the recruitment process. Reviewers will not see all your answers together until the end and will be marking on the strength of the response to each question. You will have max 250 words per answer.
Questions for application (along with CV):
1. Outline why you want to work at Kinship in this role, and how your values align to the Kinship ones? Please include a bit about your experience in this section.
2. Please give one example of when you have had to develop from scratch OR innovate a national service. Please include what the service budget was, what you did and what the outcome was.
3. This service is a high-profile contract, funded by the Department for Education. Targets and SLAs need to be met while providing impact for kinship carers. Please give a previous example of how you’ve delivered and met targets with high quality outputs.
4. You’ll be leading a team who has been through a restructure, with new staff starting and a new model to develop and embed. You will need to work at pace, while providing strong leadership and clarity to the team. How would you approach the first three months, what will you prioritise and what will you need?
5. Given the strategic ambition of Kinship, the context in which we work and this role as Associate Director of Peer Support and Community, where do you see the opportunities and risks for the service in the next 1-2 years? How would you prepare or mitigate them?

We’re unique as we don’t just plant trees. We focus on restoring the entire ecosystem in the oceans as well as on land, and we also educate the next generation of environmental caretakers.
Sound like something you’d love to be part of? Join us in this important role.
The role:
Since it began JUST ONE Tree has grown in leaps and bounds, beyond all our expectations. This year alone we’ve smashed the 4 million trees planted Milestone, become a partner in the United Nations’ Decade on Ecosystem Restoration and our founder has been nominated for Woman of the Year 2023.
This is an incredible opportunity to join at an exciting time and help take us into the stratosphere.
Working alongside our founder Amanda, and other team members, you’ll be right at the heart of the action. We’re a small, friendly and passionate team.
We’re looking for someone who can seek out and build great partnerships, cultivate and manage large corporate donors whose values align with ours and help raise brand awareness. Someone who can proactively generate new and repeat business, and enjoys networking and building relationships with both corporate sponsors and high net worth donors.
This is a permanent part-time, and yet flexible role, for 3 days a week. We’ll explore the exact hours and timing with you and together find what works.
Your work with us will raise awareness about the climate crisis and the importance of sustainability in the business world in order to create a liveable future. You’ll help us restore wildlife and marine habitats, improve livelihoods in rural communities, protect against deforestation, alleviate climate anxiety in our young and of course help tackle climate change head on.
So if you’re passionate about having a positive impact on both people and planet, want to work and interact with like-minded individuals (and have fun along the way) then we’d love to hear from you.
What does the role involve:
- Grow our annual and long-term funding.
- Research and successfully secure new long-term relationships with exciting brands and large corporate donors whose company values align with ours.
- Take the helm in the ongoing stewardship of these accounts, keeping them enthused about being part of JUST ONE Tree, the impact they’ve had and what their involvement means we can achieve together.
- Designing and implementing strategies to increase funding and strong partnerships that raise brand awareness and reach new audiences.
- Research networking, speaking events and opportunities for the CEO, yourself and others to attend, to build our network and profile.
About you:
- A self-starter, someone who takes initiative and has boundless energy to get out there and help us grow.
- You’re great at getting brands and high-value donors on board with causes like ours, and an instinct for how to communicate and build starter brands like us.
- A real people-person who enjoys networking, meeting new people, and building and nurturing strong relationships with others.
- Confident speaking with senior stakeholders and decision makers from large and high-profile organisations.
- Have a track record in working in a growth and development role (minimum 3 years), and have a strong record of securing key partnerships and generating large income streams/donations.
- Agile and creative to seek out new opportunities in a rapidly evolving space.
- A team player who’s eager to collaborate with the team to help achieve our goals.
- Have a good eye for brand identity.

- An excellent communicator who can convey the brand story and our achievements in person, in meetings and at events.
- You’re passionate about what we do, excited to represent our brand and want to turbocharge our global impact.
What’s in it for you
Working remotely – Like to work from home? No worries, our team is spread out all around the world. However, for this role we are seeking someone who lives in the UK and a commutable distance to London for team meet-ups, client meetings and attending events.
Flexible working – work around the school pick-up, after you evening swim or you’ve walked the dog – you decide.
Flexible holiday policy – we believe in the importance of good mental health and family time. It’s a marathon not a sprint. Contributing to tackling the most pressing crises of our time – with a great team.
Part Time, 3 days per week or equivalent, to include either a Monday or Friday. Hours are flexible, as long as the majority is during the working day.
Basic Salary £40k-£42k pro rata (based on experience), plus commission.
We're looking for someone to join us and be a great part of the JUST ONE Tree team.
JUST ONE Tree is uncomfortably aware of the lack of diversity in the environmental sector and we’re not ok with it. We know we’ll be even stronger and more effective in powering change if we are a more diverse team.

About us
Kids Matter is one of the UK’s fastest growing children’s charities.
Our vision is to see every child in need raised in a strong family. Our mission is to reduce the impact of poverty on children through community-based parenting programmes.
Research shows that group-based early intervention parenting groups are the most effective way to support children in need. We train peer facilitators in local churches - the largest voluntary body in the country - to run our affordable, accessible and highly effective parenting programmes, written by Clinical Psychologists. They come alongside parents and carers, building long-lasting community in addition to encouraging confidence and learning positive parenting skills.
We value difference and diversity, and we want our workplace to be built on shared values of equality and mutual trust, with team members representing the wide range of backgrounds and experiences that exist within the UK. We therefore actively encourage applications from people of diverse backgrounds and varied experiences, particularly those who are African, Afro-Caribbean, Asian or part of other minority ethnic communities, who have lived experience of the impact of low-income/low-support circumstances, and who are living with a disability or identify as being neurodivergent.

Endometriosis impacts the physical and mental health of 10% of women and those assigned female at birth, from puberty to menopause - although the impact can be felt for life. Yet it’s a disease most people have never heard of, do not understand and that has no cure. It costs the UK economy around £8.2 billion every year in healthcare costs, loss of work and treatments and yet it isn’t recognised by most employers. As the UK’s leading charity for all those affected by endometriosis, we’re determined to change this and ensure that everyone gets prompt diagnosis and the best treatment and support.
We’ve big ambitions in our strategy, focused on better supporting those with endometriosis, driving down diagnosis times, campaigning for improved treatments and access to services, raising awareness, and leveraging more money into research. We place people with endometriosis at the heart of all we do. If we get our work right, we really can make a difference to the 1.5 million women and those assigned female at birth with endometriosis in the UK – and all those diagnosed in the future.
This will be a busy, varied and important role working closely with the Head of Campaigns and Communications to identify opportunities to influence external policy to better support and represent the needs of those with endometriosis. You will be working as part of a passionate team with a strong commitment to achieving change to help those with living with endometriosis. You’ll have a sound knowledge of the UK political landscape and how to influence it and will play an important role in developing our campaigns. This is an exciting opportunity to help drive forward Endometriosis UK’s strategy and boost our impact for the benefit of everyone affected by endometriosis. I hope you’ll consider joining us so we can, together, do even more.
The closing date for applications is 5pm on Monday 20th May and interviews will take place at our Office in London Bridge on Monday 3rd and Tuesday 4th June.
