This is a new role at Wen, with a focus on building Wen's in-house media relations and story gathering capacity while also getting involved in all areas of communications, particularly social media. To help you settle into the role and support your development you will receive mentoring from a PR consultant. 

Part of your role will be visiting Wen's projects and events to gather content, impact stories and case studies for use in the media and on our social media channels. It will also include leading on social media day-to-day, including at Wen events, so you will need experience of running multiple social media channels efficiently.

You will have an interest in Wen’s areas of work and have an understanding of gender, racial and social justice issues at a personal and political level. You will take an inclusive, intersectional feminist and anti-racist approach to your work. This will be vital for engaging on social media and creating stories and content aligned with Wen's values.

Key information

Salary - £35,284 FTE per annum, pro rata (Grade 3)

Contract - 4 days/28 hours per week, Permanent. Tuesday is a core working day for the majority of Wen staff. 

Location - Hybrid working -  One day a week at Wen office in Shoreditch and/or at Wen's local hub in Mile End, London, more in-person days required on an ad-hoc basis. Occasional travel may be required.

Key tasks

Strategic Communication: You will work with the Head of Communications and Engagement to deliver Wen’s Communications Strategy.

Content Creation:  You will actively look for new content ideas and opportunities to collaborate with like-minded individuals/organisations. You will write compelling content, including press releases, articles, blogs and impact stories.​

Media Relations: You will build Wen's in-house media relations capacity, to include developing and delivering media plans, cultivating relationships with journalists and securing positive media coverage in national, local and sector media. You will also brief Wen spokespeople for media opportunities and interviews. 

Social Media: You will lead on the development of a social media strategy, plan and calendar, scheduling organic and paid content and campaigns. You will run Wen's social media channels , engaging with other accounts, communicating Wen’s position on relevant issues.

Digital Comms: You will support Wen's digital communications, including creating content for Wen's website and e-newsletter and help maintain and update Wen's CRM system.

Fundraising Public Relations Officer

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic PR and marketing professional in our London fundraising office to design and deliver creative, multi-channel, integrated fundraising and PR campaigns designed to significantly increase the Hospital’s voluntary income.

The success of this role will be dependent on engaging and building meaningful long-term relationships with both existing and new supporters through effective donor stewardship, attending events, and networking.  

The successful candidate will work in conjunction with a small, dedicated team to provide fundraising, comms, and event support to our community fundraising groups.  

High quality comms and media are going to be central to our plans to go public in a big way in 2024.  Creating high-quality, impactful, and engaging content for multimedia platforms will be key. You’ll be able to identify stories from across the organisation, draw out information and ideas from others, and successfully turn complicated or clinical information into clear, simple, and compelling narratives.  

The role requires a creative thinker with exceptional communication and leadership skills.

Main responsibilities:

Fundraising

· Develop and implement integrated fundraising, marketing and PR campaigns designed to significantly increase the Hospital’s voluntary income.

· Create and promote compelling and engaging content for web, social media, and email – ensuring that all comms have clear goals and outcomes.

· Manage the key relationships with the Guild fundraising Committee and the SOA fundraising committee including comms, marketing, and event support as well as helping to manage the key relationships with the Knights Templar sub-groups, and the County Priory Groups across the UK.  

· To put in place measures for evaluating the effectiveness of all fundraising, PR and marketing activity ensuring robust data collection, analysis procedures, and making suggestions for improvements where required.

· Manage the production of key organisational publications – including, the Jerusalem Scene magazine, Annual Report, Strategic Plan, Annual Leaflet, and other promotional materials.

· To work closely with the Executive Head of UK Office and project partners to deliver a new website, contributing expertise and ideas in regard to its look, feel and functionality.

· Take responsibility for the ongoing management and maintenance of the website, working with external consultants where required to resolve issues.  

· Understand and apply the principles of up-to-date SEO.

· Working with colleagues in Jerusalem to maintain a bank of compelling messages, narratives, and case studies for use across all external communications.

PR & Media

· To actively promote the charity’s fundraising endeavours including drafting all external and internal messaging to both new and existing supporters – e.g. email campaigns, newsletters, invitations, letters, speeches, presentations etc. for senior staff and volunteers.

· Managing press and media opportunities related to SJEHG’s fundraising activities.  

· Cultivate and maintain relationships with press and media, proactively pitching stories to secure media coverage, drafting press releases, media plans, articles, and other materials for SJEHG’s fundraising activities.

· To provide counsel and advice to senior leadership on external and internal messaging, as required.

Other

· To assist with the management of the marketing budget, monitoring expenses, ensuring cost effectiveness, seeking to maximise return on investment.

· To keep accurate records and help ensure effective data management processes across the organisation.

· Collaborate effectively with colleagues and a wide range of individuals and organisations.

Main purpose of job: To work in the Navigator team supporting individuals who have or are experiencing sexual violence and or sexual abuse. Job Description

The First Contact Navigators play a central role in the CARA team, ensuring that our service users and other agencies receive a high-quality service from the moment of first contact. You will work as part of a wider team of First Contact Navigators across Esse and the post liaises with clients, the CARA team and external agencies, providing advice, support and information.

The First Contact Navigator will engage with individuals who are experiencing, or who have experienced, sexual violence and or sexual abuse who require information, signposting and short-term support.  You will be the first contact and conduct first meetings, managing your own caseload and co-ordinating personalised support for individuals on their pathway to wellbeing. You will have strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to work under minimal supervision. You will support people who use CARA services to make informed decisions about their wellbeing, maximising their independence and engaging in appropriate community or clinical resources. You will work collaboratively with service users, the CARA team and other professional agencies to navigate and coordinate services.  

The main responsibilities of the post are:

· To act as a first point of contact for new referrals and enquiries, providing information, emotional support, advice and signposting.

· To complete first contact calls and assessments with clients over the telephone.

· To ensure information about new referrals/enquiries is accurately recorded on CARA’s database in real time.

· To work collaboratively and build trust with service users, agencies, personal and professional support networks to collate relevant information to effect individualised support requirements.

· To assess and engage service users not currently engaged in appropriate specialist sexual violence services.

· To seek and respond to referrals from a variety of internal and external sources.

The Role

You will be working as part of the West Sussex night team providing mobile support to our 24-hour services, ensuring that our transitional properties are safe, secure, and welcoming through the night. You will be based at the Horsham Y Centre and will support the static night worker there during the night as well as undertaking your mobile duties. You will work to prevent any anti-social behaviour from impacting our neighbours and other residents. In addition, you will work alongside other support staff to maximise the wellbeing of residents by completing one to one interventions with young people who may be experiencing mental health crisis and/or who may need medical assistance.

This is a mobile role, requiring all applicants to have a full valid, UK Driving Licence. You will also be lone working as part of the role, so you will need to be comfortable with decision making and following procedures.

You will work on four nights on, four nights off rota. Although these are long shifts, you will get four days off after, which can provide a great work life balance.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Fundraising Overview

1. Develop, deliver, and monitor a fundraising strategy for The Cinnamon Trust.
2. Maximise the contributions and connections with local business and individuals.
3. Coordinate all appeals including The Big Walk across all income and media streams.
4. Research and utilise new fundraising streams and opportunities such as Payroll Giving, Legacies (with help from The Legacy Officer), in Memory Giving and Online Giving.

Supporter Engagement and Stewardship

3.  Act as the ‘first point of call’ for all fundraising volunteers and maintaining excellent communication with supporters throughout these processes, in conjunction with other teams.

Database Management

1. Develop an Individual Giving and Acquisition strategy that drives growth for individual giving across multi-channel campaigns and initiatives.
2. Lead the growth of CT100 monthly giving.
3. Work with the Press and PR Manager on fundraising communication and to ensure donors are kept up to date on the difference their support makes.

Fundraising Appeals and Campaigns

1. Work alongside teams and PR and Communications Manager to promote The Cinnamon Trust.
2. Establish a corporate fundraising strategy with an accompanying narrative, alongside the PR and Communications Manager.
3. Tailor campaigns and appeals for different audiences and supporters alongside PR and Communications Manager to target corporates; smaller local businesses and individuals

Staff and Volunteers

1. Support with recruiting fundraising volunteers as appropriate.
2.  Work closely with Head of Operations and PR and Communications Manager  to ensure all fundraising is coordinated.

Wider organisational responsibilities

1. Read and adhere to all policies and procedures.
2. Lead on applications to charitable trusts or statutory bodies with support from the Head of Operations.

ABOUT MIGRATEFUL

Migrateful runs cookery classes led by refugees, asylum seekers and migrants who are on the journey to integration and gaining access to employment. Our cookery classes provide ideal conditions not just for learning English and building confidence, but also for promoting contact and cultural exchange with the wider community.

Since its establishment in 2017, Migrateful has made a profound impact on the lives of 92 cookery class teachers. Together, they have conducted over 3500 classes, sharing the rich tapestry of their cultures and cuisines with over 40,000 participants.

ABOUT THE ROLE

In this role, you will support the Head of Chef Development in the organisation, recruitment, and facilitation of our Cookery Teacher Training Programme. You will also be responsible for developing, writing, and amending class documents for our cookery class experiences, including recipes, class plans, and allergen matrices.

Over time you will forge the skills to monitor classes and provide nuanced, effective feedback to Cookery Class Teachers to maintain and improve the quality of their teaching.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking a warm, empathetic, and engaging individual with exceptional organisational and communication skills for the role of  Chef Training Coordinator at Migrateful. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for people and inclusion, along with strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.

They should be proactive, flexible, and creative in their approach to problem-solving. Experience with recipe development, food safety certification, and working with refugees, migrants, or non-native English speakers is highly desirable,  and professional or personal cookery experience would be a plus. The ability to work effectively with a diverse range of people, including marginalised groups, and manage volunteer coordination or teams is crucial.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Chef Training

• Supporting the Head of Chef Development in the planning, organisation, recruitment and facilitation of the Migrateful Cookery Teacher Training Programme in London
• Supporting the Head of Chef Development inducting and managing Chef Training mentors

Chef Feedback

• Working with Chef Development and Operations Team to manage and distribute class feedback, update any changes to class documents and feedback to chefs
• Offering general support where needed to the Operations and Chef Development Team 
• Supporting with the development of the  Cookery Class Teacher journey
• Establish good working relationships with Cookery Class Teachers and facilitators 
• Scheduling and running Migrateful community events (socials and monthly chef drop-ins

Class Documents

• Leading on the development, writing and amendment of class documents (recipes, class plans, chef profiles, allergen matrices) 
• Ensure all recipes have accurate allergen information and menus have allergens matrix
• Finalising class documents and uploading documents to Salesforce
• Liaising with Operations Team and ensuring corrections to documents are implemented including updating Salesforce

About the role 

This is an exciting new post in the Communications Team at Glass Door. Reporting to the Head of Communications, this role will support the delivery of a new paid & organic digital marketing strategy, working closely & collaboratively with both the Comms & Fundraising Teams, as well as co-lead on the delivery of a new website. 

Through this role, we will ensure that all our existing supporters are actively communicated with and that we are regularly engaging with a range of new supporters through a unique & tailored approach.

What you will do as part of our team 

Marketing:  

• Work with all internal stakeholders to develop digital marketing campaigns across paid, earned and owned channels delivering against KPI’s for income, campaigning and brand awareness. 

• Co-manage delivery of multiple/ congruent campaigns, appeals & events to attract & engage new supporters - often working alongside key members of other teams including fundraising, operations and advocacy teams. 

• Co-lead on the project management & delivery of a new website

• Work collaboratively with the Digital Comms Officer to ensure all content is optimised for multiple purpose/platforms and in line with our brand guidelines 

• Contribute creative ideas to generate content for campaigns, news stories, blogs and social media 

• Oversee development and delivery of quarterly e-newsletters. Assist colleagues with their email marketing to ensure on brand and in line with overall digital calendar 

• Work closely with the Individual Giving Officer to run email marketing campaigns - including audience specific segmented email journeys

• Work closely with the Community & Corporate fundraising colleagues to ensure content and digital journeys are meeting their needs through an integrated marketing approach

Monitor impact 

• Monitor the impact of paid & organic marketing campaigns to report on key KPI’s and metrics. Using tools within social media platforms and Google analytics. 

• Work closely & collaboratively with the Digital Comms Officer to ensure all conversions of paid promotion are tracked effectively & efficiently 

• Analyse marketing journeys for collaborative Fundraising deliverables – including campaigns & appeals and create monthly reports to share success of conversions 

• Lead on the moderation and tracking of website usage 

• Lead on the evaluation of social media and online reach, create monthly reports, and assist with evaluating the effectiveness of campaigns & appeals 

• Lead on the monitoring and track Google ads & analytics 

• Monitor and follow trends within digital and innovation to improve the organisation’s digital presence and activities 

Strategy 

• Support the creation & delivery of the digital audit of GD web & socials 

• Support the creation & delivery of the GD Communications Strategy – specifically the digital marketing strategy

About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a lively, dynamic and driven fundraising events team. Over the last decade, Breast Cancer Now has built up a strong events function community fundraising and events currently accounting for nearly a quarter of the charity’s overall voluntary income.

We’re now looking for an events officer to play a key role within the team. You’ll lead on the delivery of a range of events including runs, triathlons, cycles, treks and overseas challenges, with a focus on growing income and engagement. Your role will also help to drive us forward as the go-to charity for challenge events by providing an excellent supporter experience.
