Our client's vision is to build new affordable homes to help more people who cannot otherwise buy or rent on the open market. The Development Directorate has a programme of between 400 and 500 homes a year with S106, land-led, package deals and joint venture projects. They are looking for a Head of Project Delivery who will be instrumental in helping them achieve this delivery and their wider vision.
It’s an exciting time to join them, on the back of a busy 2024 / 2025 where the Delivery Team managed the completion of over 520 homes. The new postholder will build on this success, motivating the Delivery Team to successfully manage current and future projects.
Reporting into the Assistant Director of Development Delivery, and playing a key part in the Development Leadership Team, this role currently directly manages a team of six, whilst working closely alongside colleagues throughout the Development Directorate and the wider business.
About you
They are looking for someone who can inspire, develop and motivate the Delivery Team, whilst ensuring successful project, programme and contract management. You will need to demonstrate your ability to do this alongside a great record of delivering diverse development programmes and a knowledge of the social housing sector.

Purpose of role

Required work experience:

As part of the organisation’s ongoing growth plans, they are currently in the process of improving the strength in their financial accounting team and improving their financial systems. This has led to a need to recruit a financial accountant in support of this ambitious plan. As the financial accountant you will work closely with the wider team a well as the finance business partner and head of finance to work on process improvement, and drive the charity forward.
Key responsibilities:
- Responsible for timely year end process and preparation of the annual consolidated statutory financial and lead statements, including liaising with the charity’s auditors and dealing with audit queries
- Ensuring that all balance sheets accounts are reconciled frequently, and any differences are dealt with accordingly, including bank reconciliations, intercompany, fundraising income and restricted fund reports
- Responsible for Quarterly VAT Returns, management accounts for our Trading subsidiary and the reconciliation of the intercompany account with the Charity

Your Impact
As the Acquisition Manager, you'll play a vital role in optimising and expanding their supporter and member acquisition programme. Your responsibilities will include:
- Strategic Development: Collaborate with the Head of Supporter Engagement to strategically grow the Acquisition programme, increasing supporter and member numbers.
- Multi-Channel Campaigns: Lead, manage, and deliver direct marketing recruitment campaigns across various channels, Face to Face, Digital, Telephone fundraising and Weekly Lottery.
- Budget Management: Plan, set up, and deliver campaigns on time and within budget, ensuring a strong return on investment.
- Digital Expansion: Utilise digital platforms for new donor/member acquisition, meeting targets for income and return on investment.

You will develop a systematic forecasting process for the directorate and ensure robust 3 year income and expenditure plans are implemented as well as producing multiple year income and expenditure budgets to tie into the charities multi-year operational plan and strategy. An overview of some of the key responsibilities is below:
- Work with Communications and Fundraising department heads to produce their multiple year income and expenditure budgets
- Evaluate performance against plans and apply business insight to enable fundraising strategies to be delivered successfully.
- Use analysis to identify trends from across the department and ensure optimal financial decision-making.
- Collaborate with the wider organisation to ensure that financial management information is complete and accurate.
- Use Business Intelligence Tools to develop insightful dashboards that inform decision making and encourage self service.
- Identify operational and financial risks, and determine the method of mitigating the risk with relevant stakeholders.
- Contribute to the delivery of a successful audit, and use business insights to support the production the financial statements.
