Job description

We are looking for a Head of Research to join Autistica. We are the UK’s national autism research charity, and we exist to secure a happy, healthy and long life for the 700,000 autistic people in the UK.

In this exciting role, you will have the opportunity to lead our small, friendly and passionate Science Team to coordinate our research grant-making processes to ensure we continue funding world-class science.

You will work in collaborative research partnerships with other funding organisations, government departments and a wide range of community and professional stakeholders. You will further develop our national research network to support the best autism research in the UK. This role requires both close attention to detail and the ability to be dynamic and work at pace. They need to be strategic while also focusing on operational delivery. 

The postholder will play a key strategic role in Autistica’s ambitious plans to improve autistic people’s lives by 2030.

We encourage applications from autistic people, people with other neurodevelopmental conditions, people who are BAME and those from lower socio-economic backgrounds or who are currently under-represented within the charity sector.
