JOB PURPOSE
UK for UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency's national charity partner, is looking for an ambitious and proactive team player who can join us as a Senior Officer, Direct Marketing, within the Individual Giving Team.
In this exciting role, you will be responsible for some of our key donor development activities: you will be a confident communicator and experienced project manager, with a strong knowledge of donor development key touchpoints and best practice, as well as a tracked record of managing telemarketing and Direct Mail campaigns

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead on the overall donor development offline programme for both cash and committed donors, ensuring a strong onboarding and onward journey is in place, and that key touchpoints are leveraged to deepen engagement and increase donors’ Lifetime Value.
- Work with digital fundraising colleagues to create integrated, multichannel campaigns and an effective, donor-first giving journey.
- Provide colleagues with strategic guidance, and technical support if required, to deliver warm appeals via Direct Mail that meet six-figures campaign targets.
- Manage our Telemarketing programme, to successfully launch and deliver activities such as conversion, upgrade, reactivation, and welcome calling.
- Ensure an insight-led thanking programme is in place, with key moments identified throughout the year to acknowledge support and communicate impact.
- Work with key stakeholders across digital and offline teams to ensure we maintain a strong retention rate whilst growing our Regular Giving file.
- Remain flexible and rapidly respond to emergency situations.
- Work with our Data team to identify the best approach to data and segmentation for each project.
- Manage production processes, developing supplier briefs and managing approval stages and end of campaign reviews.
- Work with our suppliers to ensure campaign fulfilment is in place and collaborate with our Supporter Care function to monitor responses and identify issues/opportunities.
- Ensure cost effective fundraising, manage individual campaign budgets and identify opportunities to improve ROIs.

Essential Experience
- Experience of working in a fundraising environment, ideally in a medium-to-big-size charity.

Job Summary

In this multi-faceted role, you will ensure that women affected by Fowler’s Syndrome, clinicians, researchers, and the wider public are intimately connected to the charity’s work.You will enable smoother pathways for women seeking support and for healthcare professionals looking to access educational resource, while also leading on a range of communications activities and awareness campaigns.
You will take responsibility for coordinating and facilitating online patient groups, supporting in-person events, and helping to manage FSUK’s Patient Council. Tasked with overseeing the development of content such as patient resources, you will also advance wider engagement across projects and research programmes and ensure that communications, whether via newsletters, social channels, or the website, reflect the charity’s voice and values.
While having strategic oversight and leading on the management of FSUK’s digital platforms, including their WordPress website and database consisting of patients and supporters, you will also maintain the charity’s fundraising pages. Through managing FSUK’s social platforms, you will at times also interact with the charity’s online community, responding with empathy as you engage and signpost to appropriate services such as the FSUK helpline, ensuring people feel heard, informed, and supported.
Lastly, raising awareness of FSUK will be one strand of the communications output, however the primary focus is to enable stronger connections and deepen engagement and trust with their valued community.
Emotional intelligence and well defined interpersonal skills are essential, as well as having proficient organisational ability and the aptitude to multi-task when working independently within this small, yet fast-moving team.
A background in patient, community, or stakeholder engagement will also be a valuable asset, alongside exposure to working within the health, charity, or research sector. You will have demonstrable experience producing content, alongside a track record of managing digital and social platforms (particularly Instagram).
Lived experience of Fowler’s Syndrome is not essential but would be a welcome bonus!

Concerts & Projects Manager
Position Summary
The Concerts & Projects Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination and delivery of several key areas of the orchestra’s core performance activity (including but not limited to: concerts in London and around the UK, commercial recording projects, the orchestra’s Garsington Opera residency and others).
Working in a fast-paced environment as part of a friendly, fun and creative team, the role of Concerts & Projects Manager provides a unique opportunity to work with leading musicians and conductors. Excellent organisational and budgeting skills, attention to detail, innovative thinking and a flexible approach to working will help you manage, develop and execute a diverse range of projects to the highest standard.
With oversight from the Senior Concerts Manager and Concerts Director, the post-holder will work closely with the Concerts Coordinators, Concerts Assistant and the Orchestra Operations Team in the delivery of outstanding performances in venues as varied as car parks, concert halls and country houses.
Key Responsibilities

Planning and coordinating of the London Season at the Royal Festival Hall.

Planning and co-ordination of the Orchestra’s residencies in the main season: Basingstoke, Bedford, Canterbury & Leicester and in the summer season: Garsington Opera and Three Choirs Festival.

Planning and co-ordination of the Orchestra’s UK engagements.

Preparing concert/project budgets, managing and maintaining set budgets and final reconciliations/invoicing.

Liaising with the Orchestra’s Head of Production and Stage Managers regarding practical arrangements for all concerts and projects, including but not limited to stage plans, arranging stage extensions where required, truck requirements etc.

Liaising closely with the Orchestra Librarians on orchestrations and editions for repertoire being performed or recorded.

Supervising the Concerts Coordinators and Assistant in the practical delivery of contracts, PPE letters, tech riders, dressing room and security lists, rehearsal venue bookings, detailed schedule preparation etc.

Keeping abreast of all relevant agreements and updates from the Association of British Orchestras and Musicians’ Union.

Liaising with the Orchestra Committee and Artistic Committee regarding player matters as directed by Senior Concerts Manager/Concerts Director

Attending concerts & projects in London and around the UK. Representing the Philharmonia with utmost professionalism at all times.

Job Purpose
The Public Affairs Lead sits within our Policy and Advocacy Team, working to build support for The Food Foundation’s work amongst Parliamentarians and to influence the government to help deliver policies that will transform the food system. This is an exciting opportunity to join a small organisation delivering big impact on the political agenda around food.
The Public Affairs Manager reports to our Head of Policy and Advocacy and will be responsible for planning and delivering our public affairs activity. You will spend considerable time meeting MPs and Peers in parliament and building relationships with their teams with a view to identifying potential new supporters and ensuring that The Food Foundation has a range of contacts that we can call on to support and amplify our policy asks and to raise issues when required.
While this role is focused on political engagement, you will work closely with policy and research colleagues and with our communications team to share perspectives on which priorities it may be tactical to pursue at any given time and to understand what evidence is available to inform engagement.
You will also work closely with public affairs professionals in other organisations to deliver joint programmes of engagement work which leverage respective organisational strengths.
You will have excellent political instincts and a strong interest in policy developments, monitoring closely what is going on in Parliament and in Government, and keeping abreast of the latest developments in order to identify opportune moments to maximise political attention on the issues we work on and to galvanise support for policy change.
You will work with our communications team to build compelling narratives targeted at different political stakeholders about the impacts of the food system on our diets, our health and our planet, and the need for evidence-based solutions. In the current parliamentary term we expect a major focus of activity to be on securing a White Paper and then A Bill on food system change.
You will lead on developing and commissioning a range of briefing materials and reports for policy audiences and formulate responses on behalf of the organisation to policy development processes and Parliamentary inquiries.
You will think creatively about methods and opportunities for engagement in order to ensure that The Food Foundation’s messages and priorities are noticed and heard by policy-makers in a very crowded policy space, including by working closely with our events manager to deliver impactful parliamentary events.
You will bring a learning mindset to the role, assessing the impact of our policy engagement approaches in order to make continuous improvements.
The role will be a fulfilling blend of planning engagement campaigns, developing the materials and monitoring tools to enable delivery, and the practical task of developing personal relationships with key stakeholders.
A week in the job will look like: meeting with a Peer that is new to our work to brief them on evidence we have published and our current political priorities, completing a political stakeholder mapping exercise for a new campaign on sustainable diets to identify a shortlist of MPs to engage with, spending an afternoon in parliament to engage informally with passing MPs, pitching a new idea for a parliamentary inquiry to parliamentary staff from the Health and Social Care Committee, drafting an MP briefing for an upcoming debate on the Government’s obesity prevention priorities, reviewing next week’s parliamentary calendar to spot opportunities for engagement, attending a roundtable to share intelligence and discuss priorities for political party manifestos with other NGOs working on food issues, ringing round parliamentary offices to confirm attendance for an upcoming parliamentary reception, meeting with an MP that is closely involved with The Food Foundation’s work to refine messaging for an upcoming campaign.

The Royal College of Physicians (RCP) is recruiting a Senior Policy and Campaigns Adviser to join its policy and campaigns team in the new year.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the RCP as the organisation seeks to finalise and implement its new strategy.
The RCP represents around 40,000 members and fellows in the UK and internationally. Our members and fellows work across over 30 medical specialties such as cardiology, neurology, infectious diseases, geriatric and respiratory and acute internal medicine -working in hospital and community settings.
With the 10 Year Health Plan outlining three shifts for health policy in England, the senior policy and campaigns adviser will play a critical role in developing policy positions rooted in physician experience so we can effectively influence the national agenda. You will develop and deliver policy work on a range of high-profile topics such as the NHS workforce – including issues facing early career doctors – health inequalities, digital and AI and clinical research.
You’ll need a sharp eye for detail and be able to quickly and accurately interpret and communicate complex information. You will have experience of analysing policy developments in the external landscape and making recommendations for how to evolve and progress policy positioning in response. You will be as comfortable speaking to officials and other stakeholders as you are writing policy reports, consultation submissions and briefings.
You will brief the president, senior officers and senior staff and play an active role in engaging external stakeholders in NHS systems and the wider sector. You will provide lead support to an RCP advisory group, working closely with the chair to set and deliver a workplan.
