You will hold an integral role at the DEC for accurately and efficiently managing DEC’s accounting function, ensuring compliance with charity and donor regulations. You will oversee budgeting, grant management, and donor reporting with transparency and accuracy. You will provide financial insights to support cross organisational projects and program delivery and hold a key role in developing and implementing financial strategies that align with our vision and strategic planning.

About You

You will be a confident communicator, who can engage with diverse internal & external stakeholders, including funders and partners, creating a collaborative approach to meet varying commitments. You must be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified (or equivalent) with senior finance leadership experience in the non-profit or NGO sector and demonstrate strong understanding of charity accounting standards and donor compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Processes

• Ensure accurate income/expenditure recording, bank reconciliations, and daily donation processing.
• Manage monthly accounting routines, prepare management accounts, and lead budget/forecast reviews.
• Coordinate annual and strategic budgeting, financial reporting, and analysis.
• Oversee income reconciliation across multiple streams and liaise with fundraising teams.
• Review and process drawdown payments to member agencies.
• Maintain and update accounting systems and support procurement processes.

Financial Controls

• Lead annual accounts preparation and audits; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Manage pension schedules and benefits compliance.
• Ensure tax compliance (VAT, Corporation Tax, Employment Taxes).
• Audit gift aid claims and maintain robust financial control environment.
• Update financial policies, procedures, and systems, support due diligence standards.

Financial Analysis & Reporting

• Oversee appeal finances, income tracking, and fund allocation.
• Coordinate governance processes (e.g., Indicator of Capacity) with member agencies.
• Monitor legacy income and liaise with fundraising/legal teams.
• Deliver annual report and accounts; produce reports for executive team and committees.

Leadership & Team Management

• Deputise for the Director of Finance and Resources.
• Prepare papers for finance committees and membership groups.
• Oversee finance team members and provide leadership support.

About the DEC

The DEC is made up of 15 member charities who are experts in humanitarian aid and specialise in different areas of disaster response. They come together to speak in one voice and make fundraising more efficient when we launch an appeal. Our members fund our running costs, and we give them back the money we raise in our appeals to carry out their vital work.

This role is perfect for an experienced and passionate fundraiser specialising in individual giving and looking to be part of an ambitious organisation focused on improving animal welfare globally.

You will be working as part of the Marketing Team at animal welfare charity, Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS), helping to raise funds to support the charities work, which in turn will mean more animals receive life-saving veterinary care.

As Individual Giving Manager, you will report to the Head of Marketing and take the lead on growing individual giving income. You will focus on retention to increase every supporter’s tenure and lifetime value while ensuring the right audiences are targeted to broaden support.

This is a new role and offers a great opportunity for the right candidate. There is some flexibility for hybrid working, but the role will require time at the Head Office in Cranborne, Dorset.

At Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS) we champion animal welfare around the world. We send vets where they are needed most, provide expert veterinary training in hard-to-reach places, and ship urgent aid supplies worldwide, every day of the year.

We deploy teams of vets and vet nurses, send equipment and supplies to help struggling organisations on the front line of animal welfare, and train vets at our international training centres in India, Thailand, Malawi and the Galápagos Islands.  We also work on strategic one health projects such as rabies elimination campaigns with Governments and NGOs all over the world. Last year, WVS helped an animal every 14 seconds. We trained over 4,800 vets, deployed teams of vets all over the world, and sent over 1,700 parcels of veterinary supplies to 261 charities in 71 countries.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Working with the wider Marketing team, devise, plan and lead the execution of fundraising appeals to meet agreed targets, growing voluntary income from both cold and warm audiences.
• Grow one-off and regular giving income, identifying opportunities for acquisition and long-term donor development.
• Build on existing programmes to create outstanding donor care programmes to increase long-term support.
• Manage the Fundraising and Admin Assistant, who will support you in developing campaigns and communicating with supporters.
• Attend networking and other events to raise both charity’s profiles and meet agreed targets.
• Promote compliance with GDPR, fundraising regulations, and best practice in supporter care.
• Some evening and weekend working, to include travel, will likely be required.

Essential Skills & Experience

• 5+ years’ experience in a comparable role – ideally focused on individual giving.
• Working knowledge of regulations including GDPR and the Code of Fundraising Practice.
• Experience of using charity CRM systems

Main objectives of the role:

• Establish fundraising priorities and set fundraising goals in line with the wider organisational strategy
• Achieve the fundraising target and KPIs
• Lead on the organisation of a full calendar of fundraising events and activity and ensure applications are made in a timely manner
• Engage with Fellows, Trustees and volunteers to ensure wider RHN engagement
• Engage with internal teams to ensure the timely promotion of events, activities and to ensure engagement

About the Role

The Events & Community Fundraising Manager is an integral part of our ambitious and forward-thinking Fundraising & Communications team.

This postholder will deliver The Connection at St Martin’s Events and Community Fundraising activity. They will line manage the Events & Community Fundraising Assistant, with a particular focus on their work on our annual Pilgrimage event. We are the charitable arm of Bedford Blues Rugby Club. We use the values of rugby and sport to change lives through interventions and programmes that support our local community. Role Overview:

Our Fundraising Manager will play a major part in significantly increasing our growth in fundraising activities, including corporate and individual giving, community events and support our strong relationships with local businesses, schools and clubs, increasing grassroots engagement. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic marketing specialist to join our ambitious team of experienced fundraisers as World Horse Welfare approaches its centenary anniversary. You will be part of the Individual Giving team who is responsible for driving sustainable growth through donor engagement, stewardship and acquisition.

Income generation

1. To design and develop a fundraising strategy for QSA, incorporating a wide range of approaches, including statutory sources, charitable trusts, individual donations, legacies, earned income from training, and event fundraising.
2. To set clear targets based on previous trends, and realistic aspirations for growth.
3. To ensure all fundraising activity sits within the required legislative framework and complies with best practice, especially regarding donor consent.
4. To ensure accurate financial information is presented within fundraising materials.
5. To ensure that QSA fundraising applications are supported by up-to-date evidence of need, gained from relevant research and policy developments.

Main terms and conditions of employment

1. QSA uses the local government pay scales for salaries. Your salary will be on NJC scale point 41-44, which starts at £56,463 (including London weighting) for a full-time/36 hours post. All appointments are made at bottom of scale. 
2. This is a permanent position.
3. This post can be offered as a role to be worked between four and five days per week, so 28 hours to 36 hours per week. We pride ourselves on our flexible working practices.
4. Leave entitlement for a full-time post is 25 days per year, plus 8 bank holidays, with the leave year running from January to December. This increases by 2 days after 3 years of service and a further 3 days after 5 years of service. QSA closes between Christmas and New Year and days falling within this period are not taken from your leave entitlement.
5. QSA pays an additional 6% of salary into the QSA group personal pension, with a 2% staff contributory element.
6. We have probationary periods of six months and the period of notice is 1 week during the probationary period and 8 weeks on its completion.
7. QSA has a union recognition agreement with Unite although staff are welcome to join any trade union or none.
8. This is a hybrid role. We see the benefits of being in the office with colleagues on a regular basis, and consider 2-3 days per week in person to be ideal for this role.

About the role

As Fundraising Manager, your role will focus on developing relationships and generating income from charitable trusts, statutory sources, individuals, schools and parishes.

The Role
