What You'll Do:
Lead the Enterprise team to provide an outstanding level of service to events clients, visitors, including the families programme, and deliver excellence in the Café Restaurant franchise and the Shop. Shop

Visitor Engagement & Families Programme

Job Description
This role reports to the Head of Transactional Finance. The jobholder is one of three people working in the Accounts Payable Team, which is part of the Transactional Finance & Systems function. The Transactional Finance & Systems function is responsible for:
- recording and processing the financial transactions required to support the operations of ABRSM and its subsidiary ABRSM (Publishing) Limited and to enable it to meet its statutory obligations
- the provision of timely and accurate financial management information to departmental budget holders and to the ABRSM's committees.
- Management of the Accounts Payable Team including monitoring the volume of work and allocation of work to two Accounts Payable Assistants, ensuring that deadlines are met and accuracy is maintained.
- General review and oversight of the work carried out by the Accounts Payable Assistants providing leadership, support and training in Accounts Payable procedures as required.
- Ensuring all incoming Supplier invoices are shared between AP assistants and processed for authorisation daily.
- Ensuring Examiner fees are processed for weekly payment runs as set out in with ABRSM's payment policy.
- Ensuing Examiner and HLR expenses are processed weekly for payment.
- Ensuring Suppliers are paid in accordance with their payment terms and ABRSM's approval process.
- Resolving Supplier and Examiner queries, reconciling statements, and building strong relationships
- Ensuring bank Direct Debits relevant to supplier invoices are processed monthly before month end.
- Processing staff Barclaycard applications and maintaining expenditure limits.
- Meet with new staff to explain ABRSM's approval process before being given system access.
- Administering of travel loan applications
- Maintenance of fixed data for suppliers, examiners and HLRs.
- Dealing with internal Accounts Payable queries and responding to requests for information.
- Monthly reconciliation of aged creditor reports
- Maintaining up-to-date documentation in relation to procedures and systems used.
- Active participation in the enhancement and development of systems in relation to Accounts Payable processing.
- Support with month end activities such as control account reconciliations, bank reconciliations and the accruals process
- Provision of leave cover for the Accounts Payable Assistants and other members of the Finance Department as requested by the Head of Transactional Finance.
- Ad hoc duties as requested by the Head if Transactional Finance
- Processing Royalty payments and administration of accounts.
- Daily checking of VAT codes for invoices awaiting approval.
- Processing International Rep commission payments and administration of accounts.
- Processing Scholar termly payments and administration of accounts.

The ideal candidate
We’re looking for an experienced Facilities Manager to be our named competent person for statutory compliance; covering health & safety, fire, water hygiene, electrical safety and environmental standards. You’ll coordinate planned and reactive maintenance - liaising with external contractors, keep accurate compliance records, and produce clear, risk-based reports for senior management. You’ll work with a high degree of autonomy, escalating issues and key strategic budget decisions as required.
What you’ll do
- Own compliance and risk management, maintaining live risk assessments and closing remedial actions within required timescales.
- Schedule and evidence statutory checks and liaise with approved contractors and maintain accurate records.
- Track maintenance spend and provide monthly variance reporting; support value-for-money supplier arrangements.
- Lead facilities projects as required - typically small to medium in scale.
- Drive sustainability improvements across energy, water and waste.
- Act as first responder to facilities incidents during working hours.

Your Day-to-Day
- Manage and monitor outsourced Hard FM (M&E, compliance testing, maintenance) and Soft FM (cleaning, security, waste) contracts.
- Carry out regular site visits and inspections to ensure safety, compliance, and presentation standards are consistently met.
- Oversee helpdesk/ticketing systems and ensure timely resolution of issues across sites.
- Support statutory compliance, including fire safety, water hygiene, gas safety, and environmental management.
- Lead contract reviews, procurement processes, and service provider performance evaluations.
- Produce dashboards, KPI reports, and analysis to track FM performance and inform decision-making.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support operational needs and minimise service disruption.
- Contribute to business continuity, health and safety, and sustainability initiatives.
Qualifications, Training and Experience
Essential:
- Proven experience managing FM services across a multi-site estate with outsourced delivery models.
- IOSH or NEBOSH qualification.
- Strong knowledge of facilities operations, statutory compliance, and health & safety legislation.
- Experience managing supplier performance and contract delivery.
- Excellent organisational, communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to travel between sites as required.
Desirable:
- Experience in the charity, public sector, or social housing environment.
- Familiarity with CAFM/helpdesk systems.
- IWFM qualification
- Awareness of sustainability and energy efficiency practices in FM.

What you'll be doing:
You will assist with development of activities for young people and the establishment of a youth outreach programme
You will assist in the development of Messy Church
You will work with the existing leaders of Messy Church (for families) to increase the opportunities for engagement, for example through holiday projects, after-school club activities or in Fresh Expressions (such as Forest Church)
You will plan and enable intergenerational social activities
You will develop relationships with children and families and provide a pastoral ear for connected families
You will build effective relationships with local schools
You will help develop “Vintage Messy Church” activities for older people which will lead to active participation in the worshipping community
You will participate in, and occasionally lead, Sunday worship and other aspects of Church life
In due course you will seek funding to sustain (and even grow) the outreach
You will share in other tasks as may be agreed between you and the Pastoral Support Group as opportunities arise
Outline Terms and Conditions
1. Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Enhanced DBS disclosure and the taking up of no more than two satisfactory references.
2. Appointment will be subject to the satisfactory completion of a six-month probationary period.
3. The appointment will be for three years in the first instance (subject to the probationary period noted above),
4. The hours of work will be 20 hours per week, flexible by need and negotiation. It is anticipated that evening and weekend working will be part of the role, along with the main Christian festivals.
5. The Salary will be £15 per hour, paid monthly by arrangement.
6. Paid holidays – 25 days per year pro rata plus public holidays
7. The post is based at the Old Meeting URC. The person appointed will be required to travel in the local area and will also be able to work from home by agreement.
8. The Minister of Old Meeting URC, or an Elder appointed by the Elders Meeting, will be the line manager
