You’ll also need to be willing and able to help upskill our volunteers to be able to produce social media content. Being a national organisation across two countries, this role may require some travel to get out and about and support our members.

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men and it’s harming too many lives. At Prostate Cancer UK, one of our top priorities is funding research that leads to real change. It’s vital we do our best to make sure this research makes a meaningful difference to men’s lives, and that’s where you come in.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Senior Research Impact Officer to help us understand, communicate and accelerate the impact of the research we fund.

This role sits in the Research Impact and Engagement Team. You’ll be working at the heart of how we track the progress of completed research projects, share success stories and support researchers in turning their findings into ways to improve the lives of men affected by prostate cancer. You’ll take responsibility for half of our portfolio of completed research projects. This means building strong relationships with funded researchers, understanding how their work is progressing, and supporting them to achieve meaningful impact for men affected by prostate cancer. Using your scientific knowledge and communication skills you’ll translate research outputs into clear, engaging stories to demonstrate the value of our work. Using your understanding of the steps needed to take research from bench to bedside you’ll help monitor the success of our completed research portfolio.

What we want from you

This role is a vital part of how we deliver on our mission, to stop prostate cancer harming men and their families. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about research making an impact and hold a bio-medical science degree (or a degree in a related subject), with research experience. You can understand complex scientific information presented in reports, publications or presentations and explain these complex concepts in a simple and engaging way to a range of audiences including peers within the charity, as well as men affected by the disease. You’ll be motivated to consistently perform to the highest standards, with an eagerness to trial new ideas, identify new opportunities and solve problems.

In any one day you could be helping develop an impact case study for the website, interviewing researchers for project updates, supporting delivery of a research event, or using social media to disseminate the work of our funded researchers. Your primary focus will be on the impact of our funded research, working closely with colleagues in the Research Impact and Engagement Team, as well as working closely with our research funding team, and with other teams across the charity.

Finance Manager Job Description

Brent Mencap has been passionate about a healthier and fairer Brent since 1979. We’ve developed and run successful housing, employment, health, advice, wellbeing and self-advocacy services. During austerity and Covid we diversified, successfully taking on NHS work with people with long-term health conditions. We provide social prescribing support and health and wellbeing coaching to patients for Brent GPs. In 2024-25 we helped over 18000 people. We’re a leading partner on the Brent Health Educators Programme.

Our income has substantially  increased from £382k in 19/20 to £1.71 million in 23-24. We’ve had to adapt quickly, developing and retaining a much larger staff group, using our data better and improving our marketing.

Brent Mencap offers fantastic free creative and wellbeing activities for people with a learning disability, autism and long-term health conditions. These have flourished since Covid. People love yoga, poetry, singing, gardening, Breathe and Move, self-advocacy, campaigning, awareness raising, CREATE art activities for young people, external trips and parties. Small grants, donations and our reserves fund this while we get longer term funding. Our self-advocates want us to focus on paid employment, youth services and making Brent Council use accessible information properly.

Our current finance manager has been pivotal to Brent Mencap’s recent growth, adapting to paying more people, dealing with complicated invoices, making sure we get paid promptly, being as diligent about a project budget worth 5k as our overall budget and supportive with staff  wage queries. While there is lots of data input, reconciling, processing purchase orders, the role involves real involvement in project development, monitoring with other managers and face-to-face involvement with users and staff. It’s never boring and definitely not for the faint hearted!!

As Finance Manager for Brent Mencap, you will have a key leadership position. You will be responsible for the strategic and operational oversight of our finances, ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements while ensuring our services are sustainable through sound financial planning. You will work closely with the Executive Director and Trustee Board to provide accurate insights and projections that support long-term growth and resilience.

A part-time role developing, curating, delivering and finessing training for two distinct audiences – training for those who have low digital confidence, as well as young people, in how to use digital devices effectively and efficiently; and also training for those who may come into contact with, or wish to learn about, digital poverty, including staff of corporates and community providers. 

The former audience – learning about digital skills – will need to gain knowledge and understanding about the foundational elements of using laptops, tablets and smartphones.  This includes Essential Digital Skills such as setting passwords, connecting to Wi-Fi and using keyboards, as well as soft skills such as staying safe online, critical thinking and recognising fake news or AI generated imagery.

The latter audience – learning about digital poverty – will need to learn about the causes and impacts of digital poverty, what impact digital exclusion has on families and communities, and how to understand if someone is digitally included.

There may be other training requirements as well – such as training external users of our systems, training corporate volunteers, or a train-the-train model of supporting young people to work with those in their communities.

Key responsibilities

• Work with CEO and SMT to gain a strong understanding of the content we wish to deliver.
• Design a range of standardised training materials, developing curriculum plans, which are able to be tailored easily for cohorts.
• Work with the Head of Development to ensure training meets the needs of potential partners.
• Work with delivery and project officers to understand training requirements as they relate to specific programmatic requirements.
• Deliver training as the lead trainer for the charity, usually in person but sometimes online.
• Work with partner organisations to build strong relationships, especially when working with corporate volunteers.
• Create and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess the effectiveness of the training, gather feedback and finesse the training models you have created.
• Be able to run a train the trainer model for corporate volunteers, other staff, and young people on specific programmes, briefing them and ensuring consistency and quality.
• Work with the Head of External Affairs to produce high quality materials, including presentations, leaflets and other resources.
• Support marketing, project management, contract management and other functions delivered by other team members.
• Provide accurate reporting on the basis of feedback, participation and other indicators of current success.
• Take a self-sufficient approach to logistical management, whilst also working with colleagues where duties overlap.
• Keep up to date on developments in digital skills, maintaining subject matter knowledge.

The Senior Manager, HIV Services Coordination and Team Lead plays a key leadership role in supporting and enabling METRO’s HIV service managers and project leads to deliver high-quality, inclusive, and impactful services. Reporting to the Head of HIV or Director of Services, the post-holder provides day-to-day oversight of contracts, projects, and workstreams, offering hands-on supervision and management support across the HIV domain.

The post holder will act as a key link between delivery teams and the charity’s strategic leadership, helping staff navigate funder requirements, reporting deadlines, and project milestones. They will support the development of funding proposals, engage externally with commissioners and partners, and ensure METRO’s HIV services are aligned with good practice and funder expectations.

METRO Charity runs various HIV prevention and support services across London and the Southeast. These services include Pan London and local HIV prevention services, HIV support services including advice and advocacy and family support, HIV peer mentoring and counselling services. Many of these services are delivered in partnership with agencies such as the GMI Partnership consisting of Spectra, Positive East, and our partners such as The Love Tank and African Advocacy Foundation. Our services are also embedded in other sexual health partnerships, such as the SASH programme, which consists of our partnerships with Turning Point, London Friend and Naz. We also work with several NHS Trusts as part of our work with the London HIV Fast Track Cities programme and wider programmes.

This role goes beyond traditional HR, and will help to deliver significant systemic change within ATLEU and, through sharing our learning, for survivors of trafficking across the advice and anti-trafficking workforces. What You’ll Be Doing:

• Managing governance diaries and coordinating key meeting logistics.
• Preparing, proofing, and distributing papers for committees including Diocesan Synod, Diocesan Bishop’s Council, Audit and Risk Committee, and Diocesan Finance Committee.
• Maintaining accurate membership records and monitoring governance inboxes.
• Supporting GDPR and election processes and providing administrative support to the Head of Governance.

The charity is embarking on its ambitious next five-year strategy. They are looking to strengthen the team with a talented and ambitious Fundraising Manager. Your role will support the Head of Fundraising, CEO and wider team to develop new sources of high value support, working flexibly across trusts and foundations, corporate and philanthropic fundraising.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a knack for identifying funding opportunities and discovering new prospects. You’ll contribute your ideas and initiative to develop and deliver compelling engagement opportunities for current and potential supporters, and lead on reporting impact to funders. Ultimately the post-holder is expected to grow in this role, to manage their own portfolio of high value donors.

Key Responsibilities:
 

• Research and develop a qualified pipeline of trust/foundation and corporate prospects to ensure achievement of voluntary income targets in 2027/28 and beyond. 
• Draft winning funding bids and support the Head of Fundraising and/or CEO to develop compelling proposals and/or pitches. 
• Support and manage the CEO to lead relationships with funders and prospects.
• Lead on managing the funder reporting cycle and ensuring we deliver on our funding agreements, producing timely and inspiring impact reports.
• Drive awareness and understanding of fundraising internally by making connections with colleagues across the organisation and working collaboratively to support achieving fundraising goals. 
• Maintain the quality of data in the fundraising team CRM (Salesforce), managing contacts and pipelines through the database and producing accessible reports on fundraising performance and forecasts. 

Person Specification:
 

• Previous high value fundraising experience (trusts and foundations, corporates or philanthropy), with a track record of successfully securing significant donations and achieving income targets.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain a varied workload, deliver to deadlines, and successfully manage multiple work streams and projects.
• Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, with the confidence and evidenced ability to be able to nurture and maintain successful relationships with high value external stakeholders and senior colleagues. 
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with an ability to translate complex projects and/or ideas into accessible and persuasive narratives that inspire and motivate. 
• The instincts and initiative to spot and seize fundraising opportunities; with the resilience, flexibility and tenacity to guide long term fundraising activities through to successful outcomes.

The Digital Communication Officer works in the Communications team, reporting to the Head of Communications & Fundraising and manage Glass Door design, web & socials.  

Through this role, we will deliver a robust plan of impactful and on-brand content, raising the profile of our work and ensuring we are known amongst existing and new audiences in London 

Job Spec 

Editorial & Design 

• Ability to produce fresh, emotive and informative content across print & digital platforms - including profiles of guests, news stories, blogs and speeches

• Lead on design and delivery across the organisation – digital & print: including posters, informative leaflets, presentations, graphics and images for social media, newsletters and website as needed 

• Work collaboratively across the organisation to solicit content from other members of staff, including caseworkers, operations and fundraising colleagues to support Communications’ strategic aims 

• Support the design of campaigns, appeals & events - working alongside the Head of Comms & Fundraising, and key members of the fundraising team to bring alive the vision of the campaign. 

• Co-lead on our work with content producers (photographers, videographers, designers, etc), ensuring content meets Glass Door’s standards and is signed off by appropriate staff members

• Maintain Sharepoint for digital content – including photos, social images, video and written content 

• Provide quality-control support (eg proof-reading and editing) on all materials outside of the Comms team and externally, ensuring all content, imagery and branding are consistent with house style and on brand

Digital

• Manage and maintain all social media accounts in-line with Glass Door's social media guidelines, focusing on building awareness, driving traffic and increasing engagement

• Manage and update Glass Door's website in-line with the digital strategy and content planner 

• Co-develop & oversee a digital content calendar 

• Co-manage delivery of multiple/congruent campaigns, appeals and events to engage existing and attract new supporters, often working alongside key members of other teams including fundraising, operations and advocacy teams. 

• Support with digital marketing, working closely and collaboratively with the Marketing Officer, Head of Comms & Fundraising Team to plan, track and successfully deliver paid and organic digital journeys. 

• Monitor social media and advise key staff on any issues arising that could jeopardise the reputation of the charity, ensuring all Crisis Comms is managed in line with Crisis Comms Policy 

• Support the development and delivery of bi-monthly internal e-newsletters.

Monitor impact 

• Work closely and collaboratively with the Marketing Officer to ensure all conversions of paid promotion are tracked effectively and efficiently 

• Support the monitoring and tracking of website usage 

• Support the evaluation of social media and online reach, create monthly reports, and assist with evaluating the effectiveness of campaigns and appeals 

• Support the monitoring and tracking Google ads and analytics 

• Support the vision and production of a new website, ensuring it is on brand and meets our content and communication needs 

• Monitor, assess and report to relevant teams of our content performance to ensure our channels are hives of activity and relevant to our audiences.

Events 

• Support co-ordination of events, by designing and delivering print and digital materials, online support to fundraisers, and representing the charity as needed in-person and online.

• Attend and participate in relevant team meetings, and other ad hoc meetings when necessary. 

• Undertake other ad hoc tasks as directed, such as assistance on Glass Door events and occasional administrative support to the CEO.
