Our Financial Planning & Analysis team are looking for someone who is commercially astute to become the new Head of Finance, for the Operations and Commercial departments of the Trust.
The Financial Planning & Analysis function is responsible for strategic, commercial financial advice and financial performance management for the Trust including management accounting, financial bid support, budgeting, and forecasting activities. The team provide key analysis and insights for budget holders and senior leaders to inform decision making and drive effective, sustainable, and commercial planning.
This role has responsibility for the Commercial advice to Management Teams, Business Planning & Budgeting, monitoring of monthly expenditure, challenging senior teams driving value for money within our operations and commercial departments. Review of expenditure accruals / deferrals. Training budget holders to improve financial management & accuracy of monthly management accounts. Sense Scotland has been supporting individuals with communication support needs and /or a physical/learning disabilities for more than thirty-five years.
The Learning and Development team manages the delivery of all training, qualifications, and continuing professional development to all Sense Scotland staff and people we support.
This includes induction, statutory occupational training, Scottish Vocational Qualifications at SCQF levels 6 and 7 in Social Services and Healthcare and Social Services Children and Young People, SCQF level 8 in Learning and Development, including the assessor award, the Diploma in Deafblind Studies, British Sign Language, ASDAN awards and specialist training in a diverse range of topics including inclusive communication, sensory impairment, autism, early years development, the Arts, working with families and person-centred practices.
Learning and Development manages and supports Sense Scotland’s SQA Assessment Centre, internal verifiers, assessors and the networks of training facilitators and coaches as well as working with a wide range of external partners to maximise delivery of our SVQ programme, our management learning programme and to develop specialist knowledge in our core practice specialisms.
This role could be for you if you:
- Hold a relevant degree or HNC/HND, SVQ 3 or 4
- Relevant practical social care experience. Gained in a social care organisation, charity, healthcare, further education, local authority, regulatory establishment, or governing body.
- A working knowledge of current statutory requirements, Care Inspectorate standards, registration requirements and the SSSC Codes of Practice.
- IT skills i.e., Microsoft Office, eLearning database systems. Knowledge and experience learning management platforms for training delivery and ability to embed these within an organisation.
- Ability to work with subject matter experts to scope, design and create new courses within agreed timescale and design and delivery of SVQ programs.
- Quickly able to resolve and troubleshoot courses accurately, providing solutions, with the ability to present complex information in a simple and understandable way.
- Experience in managing projects/budgets and engaging others to deliver high standards in a social care L&D setting with the ability to manage and motivate a team to achieve results.
- Experience of dealing with suppliers and managing 3rd party partner relationships.
