Ivy Rock Partners is delighted to be supporting a leading global development organisation with the recruitment of an interim Programme Finance Officer to support the Programme Finance Manager in running an efficient and effective programme financial management and reporting processes in relation to their programmes and grants.

About the role

As Programme Finance Officer you will provide support to the full life cycle of grants: from donor concept proposals to final reports. You will maintain a close working relationship with all finance and programme teams and relevant staff across their international network and external donors. You will prepare financial information for internal reporting purposes, including the quarterly CEO report, monthly dashboards, and quarterly cash balance reports.

You will oversee the grants management and compliance processes, including maintaining the grants management tracker to ensure they are properly recorded and monitored. You will review budgets for proposals and make recommendations for improvements and liaise with the programme/partnerships team to ensure they are complete, accurate and compliant with donor requirements.

You will also carry out any other duties as assigned by the Programme Finance Manager or the Head of Finance and Operations.

About you

• Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
• Experience working within international charities or donor agencies and have a good understanding of grant accounting
• Experience working with EC, ECHO, DFID or equivalent and have familiarity with compliance rules
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with a variety of stakeholders
• Experience working within financial accounting and financial reporting in a charitable context
• Broad understanding and experience of development issues and organisations

Main Role Responsibilities

• To work with the Head of Commercial and Events on the development of the commercial strategy with the support of Trustees, the senior leadership team, members and other staff and stakeholders as necessary. 
• To be responsible for identifying and delivering key income streams, as outlined in the commercial strategy to meet agreed financial targets and KPIs.
• To manage existing and develop new relationships with customers to ensure customer satisfactions whilst achieving and maximising income opportunities. 
• Measure and evaluate the success of the commercial strategy business development and income generation workstreams.
• To represent the NFCC to corporate audiences and at corporate events, delivering pitches and presentations.
• To continually be researching new business opportunities for specific target markets. 
• To develop new corporate partnerships through relationship building.
• To be responsible for the account management of appropriate partnerships and provide the highest level of relationship management.
• Preparation of reports, briefing papers and other information on various matters, when required.to the senior management team and Trustees including liaison with senior members and officers across the National Fire Chiefs Council, other relevant staff across Fire and Rescue Services.
• Act as liaison and first point of contact for commercial enquiries into the NFCC and  dealing with them as appropriate. Enquiries may be from within the organisation, other fire and rescue services or elsewhere. 
• To create and assist in the drafting of timely and well-informed reports, business cases and provide advice regarding commercial developments.
• Develop an effective network with Fire and Rescue Service sector groups and other internal and external stakeholders. 
• Establish and maintain management processes and systems that provide for clear and understandable management information.

Your role The Group Finance Manager will work within a small team and an extended team of around 15-20 finance staff in the schools. You will manage significant investments and investment property. You will also maintain an accurate cash flow forecast for the group. Account Management/ Stewardship

• Support Head of Corporate Partnerships in securing and growing each partnership’s financial contribution covering both a corporate charitable donation and launching new employee engagement/fundraising activities.

Reporting/ Comms

• Write compelling cases for support to engage and motivate new and existing funders.

• Manage Benevity and Donorbox for additional donations.

• Use Monday. com and other CRM systems to record all approaches and delivery.

• Ensure the invoice and impact reporting schedule is clear with written contract agreements in place.

• Support Head of Corporate Partnerships to move partnerships from ‘in year’ renewal to a secure multi year (ideally three) year commitments/ written agreement.

• Work with colleagues to collate and deliver accurate data insights and impact reporting and inspiring story telling collateral related to partnerships.

• Develop the brand ambassador pillar of the partnership, inspiring and engaging employees to want to volunteer and fundraise  for Hatch Enterprise, delivering effective employee focussed events and content for corporate comms internal and external channels.

• Collate and share information for internal and external reporting purposes (i.e. sharing best practice, success stories).

Person Specification 

• Superb networking and relationship management skills, evidenced by experience of New Business Development and Account Management, ideally in the charity sector;

• An excellent  copywriter, with the ability to create compelling proposals which demonstrate the impact of our work and present a strong case for support to funders;

• Good knowledge of the UK corporate sector;

• Experience of prospect research, and with exceptional attention to detail;

• Analytical skills and the ability to see an opportunity, make a connection and seize the moment in relation to partnership building to meet mutual objectives;

• Efficient and accurate administrative and organisation skills;

• Good understanding and experience of working with corporate CSR, D&I, HR and commercial teams to build partnerships;

A leading literacy charity is looking for a Finance Assistant to join its small, closeknit team. The charity empowers children, young people and adults from disadvantaged communities with the literacy skills they need to succeed. You will need to work from the office in Vauxhall at least one day per week, but can work from home the remainder of the week. Salary £25,000 - £28,000 per annum.

The post holder's main duties and responsibilities are:

• Undertake month-end bank reconciliations, monitor balances and make transfers when required
• Process bank transactions including depositing cheques

Spectra are looking for a fundraiser, focussing on smaller trusts and individual giving, to join a growing fundraising team with exciting plans. Key responsibilities:

About the Role:
As Finance Business Partner to Communications and Fundraising directorates, you will:

• Regularly advise Communications and Fundraising leaders and senior manager to review financial aspects of their operational plans.
• Develop a systematic forecasting process for the directorate and ensure robust 3-year income and expenditure financial plans are implemented.
• Support on long term financial plans and modelling supporting WAUKs 10-year strategy.
• Develop enhanced self-service reporting relevant at budget holder and department level that supports optimal decision-making.
• Create efficient finance processes that best deliver the needs of the organisation.
• Provide training and advice to build the financial management competencies of budget holders.
• Work closely with the wider finance and IS team on delivering the organisational priorities.

You'll also:

• Work with Communications and Fundraising department heads to produce their multiple year income and expenditure budgets that are required to achieve the multi-year operational plan and strategy.
• Evaluate performance against plans and apply business insight to enable fundraising strategies to be delivered successfully.
• Use analysis to identify trends from across the department and ensure optimal financial decision-making.
• Collaborate with the wider organisation to ensure that financial management information is complete and accurate.

About You:
To be successful, you'll need:

• Completed a professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA). We are also open to part qualified candidates with the appropriate professional experience and the intention to finish remaining exams. We are hiring a Finance and Grants Assistant to support financial and grants operations processes. Responsibilities include participating in the operational and administrative activities of the finance function, leading to the accurate recording of financial information for accounting purposes, as well as managing financial records, and supporting our grant-making processes.

• Successfully complete daily and weekly finance and grants tasks, successfully managing the finance and grants email inboxes and be confident answering questions and resolving queries.

Responsibilities of the role

Finance – approx. 40%

Day-to-day financial management of the charity and its Trading subsidiary including, but not limited to:

• Process all day-to-day transactions on the finance system, Xero, including income received from fundraising platforms, ensuring a full audit trail of data processing.

• Complete daily bank reconciliations for all entities, including recording and banking cheques and processing petty cash.

• Raise sales invoices as requested, following procedures to set up in customer systems, and follow up with customers to ensure timely payment.

• Process purchase invoices and expense claims, ensuring appropriate authorisation, in line with delegated authorisations.  

• Set up weekly payment runs for approval by the Head of Finance.

• Monitor all financial processes, ensuring finance policies are complied with and deadlines are met, including electronic and physical filing of finance and legal documents.

• Complete month end tasks, enabling to the Head of Finance to close the month, including selected balance sheet reconciliations.

• Keep Gift Aid records up-to-date and assist the Head of Finance with the preparation of Gift Aid claims.

• Assist with the year-end audit, ensuring all relevant paperwork is tidily filed.

• Collaborating with the fundraising team, exploring fundraising and donation collection mechanics, identify new developments in the sector and helping to embed any system changes.

• Train and support the charity team on the charity’s finance processes.

• Provide cover for the Governance & Team Co-ordinator in periods of absence.

Grants – approx. 60%

• Support the Grants Team to process charity applications for funding, including communicating with interested parties, summarising applications, compiling relevant information, conducting research as required and helping to organise related meetings and Grants Panels.

• Preparing and processing funding agreements, reporting forms and other associated paperwork for grants.

• Working with charities to collect and develop storytelling information such as quotes, pictures and case studies, and support sourcing participants and contributors for radio interviews and other editorial pieces as needed.

• Supporting the team in the organisation, planning and delivery of our skills training programme for charities.

• Writing copy for our website and newsletters, and ownership of our communication planner for our charities.

• Managing the Grants Team inbox and being the first point of call for queries.

• Leading on the management of data and uploading of information on our database (Salesforce), complying with GDPR requirements.

• General administrative tasks across the both the Grants and wider charities team, undertaking adhoc projects and supporting initiatives and events as requested.

• Assisting the Grants Managers in all administrative aspects of support.

• Provide cover for the Governance & Team Co-ordinator in periods of absence.

What you will need

The ideal candidate will be proactive, efficient and capable of the following:

Essential Experience

• Strong A-Level results (or equivalent)  and/ or relevant degree / or relevant experience

• Would suit someone working towards finance qualification such as AAT
