You will provide effective administrative support to the Office Manager and the wider team to ensure the smooth running of the two charities, the Army Cadet Charitable Trust UK (ACCT UK) and the Combined Cadet Force Association (CCFA). You will support across a range of tasks including administration, office management, supporting on our insurance provision as well as meetings and event support.

A cheerful, can-do attitude is essential, as is the ability to work well with a diverse range of staff based in the head office and across the UK. You will be organised, have excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload. You will have strong written and verbal communication skills. The Donor Relations Officer will be responsible for crafting compelling, donor-centred communications that strengthen long-term relationships with partners and supporters, deepen engagement and inspire giving. One of the main areas of responsibility will be to produce proposals and reports for stakeholders, especially strategic partners and donors. Qualifications

Required:

About the role

It is an exciting time to join Chance to Shine as we grow our scale and deepen our impact with the aim of reaching 1 million young people annually by 2028. Broadening our community of supporters and growing our income is vital to achieving this strategy and the role of Events Officer is critical to this growth.

This role would suit an energetic and ambitious events professional, who is looking to progress in their career by supporting the delivery of a demanding programme of events to the highest standard. With the support and guidance of the Special Events Manager and Head of Fundraising, this is an exciting opportunity to develop your career skills and play a vital role in the growth of our events programme at an exceptionally well regarded and well-run charity.

Please note this is a meternity cover role, expected to end in February 2027. All office based staff are expected to attend our office in Holborn at least 2-days per week.

Key responsibilities

Special Events

• Co-ordinate logistics for CTS fundraising and organisational events including managing event paperwork and processes, such as invitations and RSVPs
• Manage events as directed e.g. lead on the delivery of the annual stadium takeover day, golf day and/or other events as required
• Responsible for administrative support for CTS fundraising events including maintaining attendee and gift records on our Raisers Edge database
• Responsible for proactively sourcing auction items and the fulfilment of said auction items and raffle prizes to be used at CTS and third-party fundraising events, including developing partnerships with potential auction donors (both individual and corporates)
• To effectively manage the tracking, distribution and coordination of all cricket tickets and hospitality associated with auction prizes throughout the year
• To support with sales for CTS events, such as golf days and fundraising dinners, through prospect research
• To recruit and manage volunteers to support CTS fundraising events

The Purpose of the Role
IRC’s External Relations (ER) department brings together Fundraising, Communications and Policy & Advocacy functions. With the aim to raise money, awareness and influence for crisis-affected populations worldwide, the department combines knowledge and expertise across multiple national markets.  
 
The IRC fundraising teams are comprised of colleagues and teams working in the USA, UK, Germany, Sweden and Korea as well as emerging markets delivering direct marketing, content, account management, philanthropy, board liaison, corporate as well as trust and foundation partnerships to support IRC’s national fundraising strategies. 
 
The IRC’s private fundraising capability in the UK has grown significantly over the past five years. Ambitious growth plans are in place to deliver increasing income from the private sector as part of an exciting global External Relations strategy.  
 
The Director of UK Mass Markets is responsible for the leadership and direction of the Mass Markets team in the UK and for securing long-term sustainable income for the IRC through individual donor acquisition, retention and supporter care. You will lead and develop a high-performing team by growing mass marketing audiences and income, developing exciting and targeted campaigns, identifying opportunities for product, channel and audience diversification, and championing UX and a supporter centric fundraising model. The Director will also serve as a key partner to the UK Executive Director as they facilitate cross-team collaboration, accountability and success among all private fundraising teams in the UK (Philanthropy, Global Corporate Partnerships, Foundations & Trusts and Mass Markets). The Director will play a leadership role in IRC UK more widely as a member of the UK Senior Management Team (UKSMT). The UKSMT is collectively responsible for achieving the cross-functional goals of IRC UK’s strategy and actively fostering an inclusive workplace at IRC UK.

Scope and Authority 
This position has responsibility for delivering the UK Mass Market team strategy and targets and Supporter Care within the overarching Global Mass Markets strategy and UK Strategic Plan. 

Responsibility for Resources:

Key Accountabilities

·  Aligned to the overall Global External Relations Strategy, develop, implement, monitor and report on IRC UK’s fundraising and supporter engagement strategy. 
·  Lead fundraising campaigns (acquisition, retention, mid-level) that deliver unrestricted income to enable IRC’s work. Channels include e-mail, direct mail, inserts, Facebook advertising, new forms of social media, and adwords, as well as telemarketing etc.

Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications:

Role outline and purpose

The Development Manager – Trusts & Foundations is responsible for delivering new relationships with a wide spectrum of Trusts and Foundations to grow our portfolio of high value funding partners. Responsible for developing compelling propositions and applications that drive transformational funding for our strategic programmes of work, maximising income generation, though prospecting, cultivating and securing funding to deliver against our strategic objectives and ambitious income targets.

This role is part of the Together with Trussell programme, the goal of which is to build stronger connections with our supporters, partners and donors in order to increase funding, campaigning, and other forms of support for our work. As a member of an enabling programme, this role is focused on the successful delivery of the Together with Trussell programme outcomes, which underpin and enable the outcomes of our 5 external programmes - together contributing to the fulfilment of our long term vision of a UK without the need for food banks.

Role responsibilities

· Work with the Programme Funding team to deliver our income generation strategy, meeting income targets based on long term financial forecasts, by proactively developing new opportunities, propositions and relationships with a wide variety of Trusts and Foundations – including corporate foundations, family trusts and institutional trusts.

· Proactively identify, develop and nurture relationships with potential funders to maximise fundraising potential.
