Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) works for the health and dignity of Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees. MAP is the leading UK charity delivering health and medical care to those worst affected by conflict, occupation, and displacement, in the occupied Palestinian territory and Palestinian refugee camps of Lebanon.
The Head of Institutional Funding role is based in the Programmes Team, line managing the IF team and close cooperation with programme funding colleagues in Gaza, West Bank and Lebanon. The role has a broad remit covering developing and formalising framework agreements, programme design, proposal development and reports (narrative and financial), scoping and relationship development with relevant institutional donors. The role will also focus on prospect research and development. The role is based in London, with strong relationships to our projects and partners in Lebanon, the West Bank and Gaza.
Duties and key rsponsibilities
1. Lead the development and delivery of and institutional funding strategy which meets the needs of MAP to meet increasing need and grow sustainably.
2. Identify and develop relationships with a portfolio of institutional donors such as UN agencies, FCDO, SIDA, Irish Aid etc.
3. Lead the development of compelling project and programme proposals and budgets for MAP’s programmes in Gaza, the West Bank and Lebanon, working closely with programme teams.
4. Ensure that MAP meets all the contractual, compliance and reporting requirements of institutional funded programmes.
Institutional donor portfolio and pipeline development
1. Research and identify institutional donors who align with MAP’s programme funding priorities.
2. Lead the development of an institutional funding strategy which meets MAP’s programme ambitions and will support sustained growth and impact.
3. Lead the delivery of the institutional funding strategy including donor engagement plans, pipeline management, and compliance.
4. Lead the stewardship and relationship management of institutional donors
5. Develop and manage an institutional funding pipeline working closely with programme and fundraising colleagues
6. Monitors trends in institutional donor funding in the Middle East and MAP programme priority areas
Business development
1. Lead the development of proposals (including theory of change, logical frameworks etc. as required) and budgets to Institutional donors drawing on programme plans and in close collaboration with programme colleagues, senior management and finance.
2. Identify and propose funding and collaboration/consortiums opportunities which match MAP programme plans and ambitions
3. Scope and lead on the development of framework agreements with institutional donors, such as registering with the DEC, registering under 503 (c) for USAID grants and FPA with the European Commission.
Grants management
1. Ensure agreements, contract negotiations and compliance, including liaison with colleagues to ensure due diligence requirements are fulfilled prior to contracts being signed.
2. Ensure MAP manages all grants in line with contractual obligations throughout the project cycle
3. Provide training and advice to programme teams to ensure excellence in grants management for all institutional funded projects
4. Ensure communication with institutional donors is timely and relevant

Part 1: Role Purpose:
The Head of Program position, reporting to the Country Director in Afghanistan, is responsible for leading a diverse programme portfolio across multiple provinces and partners in Afghanistan. The primary objectives of this role are to secure additional resources to support our work across the country and lead the design and implementation of Street Child’s programme in Afghanistan. Specifically, the postholder will lead the programmes team (including food security, child protection and education project managers and localisation advisor); lead our partnerships with a diverse range of stakeholders; drive our resource mobilization; ensure effective programme implementation; provide strategic technical expertise in Education programming; and provide capacity building to staff and partners as required. Additionally, the Senior Programme Manager will be responsible for external liaison with national and international partners, government officials, and donor community, deputising for the Country Director as required. Ideally, the Senior Programme Manager will have technical expertise in education programming and/or child protection.
Part 2: Key Responsibilities:
(40%) Programme Management and Coordination:
- Provide matrix management oversight for the successful delivery of projects; including technical input, activity planning and day-to-day liaison with the team and implementing partners to ensure quality implementation within timeframe and budget.
- Provide technical support in areas of own expertise (ideally education programming), including programme development, quality assurance, technical backstopping, and capacity strengthening and coaching for education team and partner staff.
- Lead on the delivery of consortia programmes that CIC are part of.
- Coordinate the identification of partner capacity development needs and the provision of targeted support.
- Ensure all donor, internal and external reporting requirements are met in a timely manner, and are in compliance with donor requirements of project/ program allocation.
- Ensure comprehensive and professional M&E practices are in place.
- Ensure project reviews and the financial health of all projects by supervising expenditures within each project monthly and ensuring that well-structured corrective action is initiated and tracked where required.
- Maintain regular links with the operational teams to facilitate the provision of logistic, administrative and security support to facilitate program implementation.
- Establish meaningful working relationships with projects stakeholders and represent CIC at Education Cluster, ACBAR, Ministry of Education, UN agencies, and other international organizations working in education sector.
(40%) Programme Development and Resource Mobilization:
- Provide context analysis on the humanitarian/development context in the country.
- In close coordination with the Regional Representative and Country Director, identify and analyse new funding opportunities in Afghanistan in which Street Child can add value to the humanitarian and development response.
- Develop, implement, and review sector strategies and support the Country Director in identifying strategic opportunities for strengthening Street Child’s work in the country.
- Articulate strategic approaches, partnerships, management/ staffing plans, M&E and budgets.
- Cultivate partnerships, establish links and closely coordinate with relevant government stakeholders, UN agencies, INGO’s, L/NNGO’s, clusters, donors for programme development, including opportunities for consortia.
- Lead the project proposal development (budget, log frame, theory of change etc.) within the framework of the country and global strategy, with support from the programme teams.
- Support Country Director in formalizing a country strategy that aligns with global/regional strategies, priorities and programmes.
(20%) Leadership and Staff Management:
- Managing programme staff including field staff and ensuring direct reports have clear and realistic performance-based management goals
- Ensure that Street Child programme teams comply to Street Child’s security and other relevant operational, financial, logistics, admin, HR, safeguarding, and code of conduct regulations.

- At least 5 years of experience in the humanitarian/development sectors.
- Proven track record in successful development and implementation of programmes in Afghanistan or comparable contexts including successful management of teams in humanitarian contexts.

- Technical knowledge and proven experience in delivering education programming.

Role Purpose
To fulfil its Programme Strategy 2022-2027, ShelterBox’s programming will be guided by two Shelter Technical leads, one with a greater focus on emergency response and one with a greater focus on transitional and durable shelters and WASH. The two positions - working in close coordination and collaboration - will collaborate with the Programme Quality and Programme Delivery teams, to maximise the quality of ShelterBox’s programming in alignment with our renewed mission, vision, and strategy, under the leadership of the Head of Programme Quality.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
- Provide technical input into shelter and WASH project design and development, ensuring that shelter technical standards are documented in project sheltering strategies and tools, and that these standards are adhered to throughout the project cycle.
- Continually assess ShelterBox’s technical strengths and areas for improvement, identify approaches to addressing areas for improvement and work with relevant colleagues to put these into action.
- Provide technical advice and assistance to needs assessment, project design and delivery, including through participating in project design, reviewing concept notes/proposals and presence in-country where this is necessary to support the quality of high priority activities.
- Support partners technical shelter knowledge and capacity development, ensuring that their activities are aligned with organisational and global humanitarian standards.
- Ensure that shelter projects consider priority cross-cutting issues such as, environment, housing land and property rights, protection, gender and inclusion, and safety; and that site activities comply with appropriate local, national, and international standards and regulations.
- Support to market assessments to identify existing capacities and resources that can be leveraged to support self-recovery in shelter programming.
- Provide technical support and advice to emergency preparedness planning.

Summary of the role:
The Procurement & VFM Manager reports to the Head of Finance, serving as a technical lead on procurement and logistics matters. The role involves introducing, developing, and implementing best practices across our UK headquarters, providing technical support to Country Offices. The aim is to support Muslim Aid in delivering high-quality, accessible, and reliable emergency/humanitarian aid across its UK headquarters and Country Offices, involving challenging and encouraging engagement in the ongoing development of procurement and logistics systems, policies, procedures, and associated planning.
The post holder will manage the procurement and logistics framework and tools to strengthen the capabilities and knowledge of all stakeholders, ensuring the adoption of best practices and industry standards across global operations. Working closely with key stakeholders, the Procurement Manager will help identify and develop a robust system and framework across business operations to support ongoing logistics and procurement activities. The role also includes overseeing all education and training provided to staff, volunteers, consultants, and those associated with Muslim Aid.
About the Role:
- Manage and develop the procurement and logistics resource and strategy for UK headquarters, offering technical support to Country Offices for local strategy and planning aimed at strengthening local procurement capacity and resources.
- Assist and support UK and Country Office Focal Points, as well as wider staff, in establishing and developing local procurement networks to support local implementation
- Set up and maintain a supplier database, conduct relevant due diligence checks for Muslim Aid suppliers, partners and other stakeholders.

The post is a pivotal role in CAFOD’s Asia & Middle East (AME) team supporting the Head of Region in the management and co-ordination of regional programming and organisational processes ensuring smooth administration, programme cycle management and communications. The post holder will be responsible for building effective working relationships with peers in the International Programme Group, as well as with colleagues across CAFOD such as funding, finance, and communications. They will act as the AME focal point for communications, supporting programme teams to develop materials for internal and external audiences.
CAFOD’s Asia & Middle East region currently has core programmes in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Lebanon, Myanmar, occupied Palestinian territory and Israel, Sri Lanka and Syria.
Key Responsibilities
The scope of the post falls into the following broad functions:
- Support and co-ordination: supporting the Head of Region in the management and coordination of cross-regional work and relevant organisational processes.
- Communications: supporting the effective communication and flow of information across the regional team and with the rest of the organisation, including supporting programme teams to prepare communications materials.
- Programme & financial support: supporting the Head of Region in the management of cross-regional partnership projects/programmes, providing similar support to Programme Officers in the region when their workload requires.
- Administration: providing administrative support to the Head of Region and the regional team,
- Representation: of the region across CAFOD (and occasionally externally), as requested by the Head of Region.
Support and coordination:
- Support and coordinate the region’s responsibilities towards relevant organisational and departmental processes and initiatives, including planning and reporting;
- Maintain and monitor cross-regional budgets and financial statements, working with the Head of Region on quarterly and annual financial reviews;
- Co-ordinate relevant regional/management team meetings, and ad-hoc meetings between members of the regional team and colleagues across CAFOD;
- Work with AME staff to ensure that there is a good level of understanding of CAFOD’s operating systems, policies and procedures, and where necessary provide training and induction.
Programme & financial support:
- Assist the Head of Region in the management of any cross-regional partnership projects/programmes, including correspondence with partners, approval and payment of grants, monitoring and reviewing reports, and maintaining paper and electronic project files.
- Support Programme Officers across the region in their work with partners, managing grants to partners and other aspects of programme support when programme workloads require.
Communications:
- Support the effective flow of information and communication within the regional team and across CAFOD.
- Act as a key point of contact for information on the region’s work and work collaboratively with programme staff and other teams to ensure that CAFOD’s work in the region is fully reflected in the organisational agenda (e.g. in campaigning, fundraising, communications or media work).
- Be an active source of internal communication, providing easy access to information by developing and maintaining a regional team SharePoint site, as well as other specific sites on the intranet, and engaging with the media team as appropriate.
Administration:
- Provide administrative support to the Head of Region, including correspondence, information systems, management of the team diary, preparation and follow-up of monthly team meetings, design and monitoring of filing systems, and maintenance of database and other systems to provide effective planning, communication and information flow,
- Accompany staff to ensure efficient and effective use of the Programme Cycle Management system, working in conjunction with other teams in CAFOD, to provide support when necessary (e.g. when access is disrupted),
- Be the first point of contact and/or provide essential administrative support to the regional teams.
- Organise and co-ordinate induction for new staff directly managed by the Head of Region
- Provide administrative support to other members of the team where required, including helping to organise programmes for overseas staff/partner visits, travel and accommodation needs, routine correspondence, and occasional cover for colleagues when absent,
- Coordinate the work of the region’s London-based volunteers and liaise with relevant staff on all volunteer-based issues.
Representation:
- Attend and represent the region in CAFOD networks, working groups and similar fora on behalf of the Head of Region, or other members of the team as required,
- In agreement with the Head of Region attend external meetings or events occasionally and identify and follow up on actions from these.
Focal Point Responsibilities
The Regional Support Officer is the AME regional focal point on Safe, Accountable, Dignified and Inclusive programming (SADI). This role is currently held by the other job-share, but this post-holder will deputise from time to time.

The Admin and Projects Officer (APO) will work closely with GISF’s Business & Operations Manager and the Head of Global Membership and NGO Services. The APO will provide efficient administrative support to enable the smooth functioning of the GISF Secretariat. You will be working as a part of a UK/US Administrative Team. The role of the People Assistant will be to provide administrative support to the People Team. You will contribute to the efficient running of the department and assist in the delivery of a supportive, employee-oriented organisational culture that emphasises quality, continuous improvement, and high performance.
This is a busy generalist HR role and will give you a broad experience to many different elements of HR practice including recruitment, onboarding and induction, metrics and analytics, EDI, safeguarding, and wellbeing, within the humanitarian sector.
Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual who is looking to start or develop their HR career. You will be a people person, committed to delivering excellent customer service who is able to work and communicate well with different individuals and teams, both internal and external to ShelterBox.
As the first point of contact for the HR Team the ability to manage different tasks and priorities simultaneously and have excellent attention to detail will be key.
This role will help generate and collate monthly and quarterly people metrics so excellent IT skills (particularly Microsoft Office and database reporting) are essential. As a member of the HR Team, you will be handling a wide range of data, including sensitive and personal information, as such you will work with discretion and adhere to confidentiality.
Achievement of, or study toward, your CIPD Level 3 is preferable but is not essential. Knowledge of basic employment law and HR practices would be advantageous for the role.
Main role and responsibilities
This role will primarily provide administrative support for the day-to-day running of the HR Team as well as supporting ongoing strategic work projects of the People Team. This role will also help support the diary management for the Director of People.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
- Administration of all recruitment campaigns including advertising, arranging interviews and candidate management.
- Administer all HR-related documentation in a timely manner. Documents will relate to starters, leavers, Maternity/Paternity, probation completions, etc.
- Generate and report on monthly and quarterly people metrics.
- Management of the HR inbox and timely response to queries.
- Assist with HR project and strategy work
- Information management of the HRIS ensuring electronic records are accurately maintained and updated in accordance with GDPR legislation including personal details, absence management and employment records.
- Monthly employee file auditing, ensuring records are accurately maintained including return to work, probation, and appraisal completions.
- Support internal communications including organisational updates, wellbeing, and staff newsletters.
