This is an exciting opportunity to join Refuge’s Technology-facilitated Abuse and Economic Empowerment Team, to deliver a unique partnership project, supporting survivors of economic abuse and technology-facilitated abuse. The post holder will work alongside our talented Tech and Economic Abuse leads, supporting survivors to increase their safety and regain economic independence, empowering them to move forward with their lives free from abuse.

The postholder will be responsible for managing a caseload of survivors, providing holistic support to assess and increase their safety, and connecting them with local domestic abuse support services where appropriate. The postholder will advise on securing online accounts and devices, ensure survivors have access to safe bank accounts, advocate with banks and creditors to tackle fraud and coerced debt, and empower survivors to regain control of their finances. We are looking for someone with experience supporting survivors of domestic abuse, with a good understanding of tech safety and how economic abuse can impact survivors, who is passionate about increasing survivor safety, and reaching the best outcomes for everyone they support.

• Ensure learning meets development guidelines, and is accessible, functional and engaging.
• Integrate learning content to create courses on our learning management system (Moodle).
• Test learning content, including using screen readers and other accessibility software.
• Help to maintain the guidelines for course development.
• Support the day-to-day administration of the Sea Cadets learning management environment
• Cultivate strong working relationships across multiple teams (internal and external)
• Stay up to date with latest system upgrades and advise on their potential impact on existing or new courses

Requirements

• eLearning development experience ( e.g. tools such as Articulate Storyline and Rise, or similar)
• Experience in media creation for graphics, sound and video editing.

Home based role and living within the relevant region or close enough proximity to be able to travel and meet the requirements of this role’ (subject to meeting homeworking assessment requirements, which includes a minimum broadband speed of 18Mbps). 

In this new but key role you will be responsible for assisting the Senior Negotiating Officer to manage and support our stewards, safety and equality representative networks across Yorkshire and Humber region, advising them in providing individual and collective industrial relations support to members, working both in and outside of the NHS. This includes long-term rough sleeping, substance use, severe and enduring mental health issues, involvement with the criminal justice system, and self-care challenges.

This is not a typical hostel service - it is a dynamic, intensive, and highly specialist environment requiring compassionate leadership, robust risk management, and strong inter-agency collaboration.
