We are seeking a Psychometrician for two days per week to lead psychometric analyses and interpret the examination results of the Royal College of Pathologists.

The College is responsible for the delivery of pathology examinations for doctors, scientists, oral pathologists (dentists) and veterinary pathologists in 17 specialties – the Fellowship examinations of the Royal College of Pathologists (FRCPath). The FRCPath Part 1 is held online and is a test of knowledge while FRCPath Part 2 is held in person around the UK as well as in the Republic of Ireland and, for histopathology, in international centres such as Dubai and Egypt. The College is regulated by the General Medical Council for the medical examinations and the General Dental Council for the Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology examinations, but the examinations are open to all appropriately qualified candidates.

The FRCPath examinations are held twice a year in Spring and Autumn and attracts approximately 1,200 candidates per session across the specialties. While some examinations attract up to 200 candidates, some examinations consistently attract very small numbers of candidates, with a number of examination cohorts sitting somewhere in between. The Psychometrician will advise on the appropriate data collection methods for the examinations and undertake psychometric analyses of appropriate examination data for each examination session and will, in time, be asked to provide analysis of longitudinal data.

As the College continues to develop its examinations, the Psychometrician will possess sufficient expertise to provide advice on the appropriate psychometric tests to undertake for the specialty examinations as different formats or methods of delivery are considered.

The examinations are delivered by an examinations team in the College which sits within the Learning Directorate. Each specialty examination is supported by an appropriately qualified panel, led by a Panel Chair, all of whom are overseen by the Clinical Director of Examinations (a pathologist). The Psychometrician will be expected to communicate with a wide range of individuals regarding the College examinations, with varying levels of knowledge about psychometrics, and will provide training for examiners and staff on a regular basis.

The College is a professional membership organisation dedicated to the advancement of the science and practice of pathology. There are currently approximately 12,000 members, all of whom are pathologists based in hospitals, universities and laboratories in the UK and overseas. The College’s main tasks are to set and maintain training standards for doctors and scientists, to advice on the appointment of consultant pathologists, to ensure the membership is kept up to date with current practice through the continuing professional development scheme, and to promote the latest developments in pathology by holding scientific meetings.

The Role

This is a rare opportunity to be at the front line of human rights research and advocacy, working for a specialist organisation with a long track record in promoting the right to freedom of religion or belief (FoRB).

You will undertake research, investigations, monitoring, report-writing and advocacy on freedom of religion and human rights in Myanmar/Burma and Indonesia.

• To organise, as appropriate, advocacy visits for delegations from or in relation to the agreed countries.

About this role

The role of the Finance and Payroll Manager is to support the Development and Finance teams to manage and report on restricted income, as well as to manage monthly in-house payroll under the guidance of the Head of Finance. This involves ensuring that we are maximising the use of restricted funding, and that money is spent in line with donors’ wishes and that staff are paid accurately and on time each month. The Finance and Payroll Manager will work within a small Finance team under the supervision of the Head of Finance. They will work closely with the Joint ED, wider Senior Management Team, Head of Development and budget holders throughout the organisation.

They will support the Head of Finance with annual budgeting and quarterly re-forecasting as well as with the production of the monthly management accounts. They will support the Development team in making grant applications and develop restricted grant budgets for newly secured grants for integration into the organisational budget; they will meet regularly with the Development team and budget holders to review restricted project spend. They will produce reports for funders working in conjunction with our Development Team and casework teams. The Finance and Payroll Manager will contribute to a culture of continuous improvement of the finance systems, processes and grant management tools to ensure they continue to be fit for purpose.

Contract and location

The role is a full-time, permanent position with an annual salary of £50,571 per annum less any required deductions for Income Tax and National Insurance.

About the role

Our highest impact projects rely on experts from specialists from a range of disciplines both inside and outside of JRF working together effectively.

The purpose of the Delivery and Partnerships Lead is to enable multidisciplinary project teams to succeed in their objectives by applying the most relevant delivery and project management techniques and frameworks with a solutions-focused approach, alongside providing critical administrative and logistical support to keep projects in their portfolios moving forward.

As a member of our internal resources team, they will also contribute to relevant project teams/work streams set up by the team lead to deliver cross-JRF team events, new initiatives and/or develop, embed, and manage efficient business processes to ensure effective running of the system as a whole.

This role is ideal for someone with strong project and/or delivery management skills and experience, who is passionate about JRF’s mission and committed to contributing to social change.

You will be highly competent at delivering multiple complex projects simultaneously, strong administration skills, able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and a team player who can build strong and effective personal relationships across JRF as well as externally.

This is an exciting opportunity to provide clinical leadership and supervision to a number of therapeutic services within Richmond Borough Mind. Our developed and respected Psychotherapy and Counselling Service has been providing long-term counselling interventions to local residents since 1988. The service is self-funded and offers a range of therapies which aim to provide individuals with the support and opportunity to work through their difficulties in depth with a skilled and experienced trainee or fully qualified therapist. Sliding scale rates are offered to make sure that we are accessible to all. We also run a number of therapeutic, psychoeducational, support and peer-led one to one sessions and groups, training workshops and other activities.

We are looking for a skilled and qualified (or in advance training) counselling supervisor to provide clinical supervision, leadership, management and service development of our Psychotherapy and Counselling service. Knowledge and understanding of a number of modalities would be an asset.  Part of the role will be to help us achieve and maintain BACP or equivalent service accreditation and to grow the service.

As well as having an empathy with the core values of RB Mind, the successful applicant will be a confident and versatile communicator with outstanding relationship-building, organisational and problem-solving skills, and have the ability to provide empathy and guided support to staff, volunteer counsellors, administrators and clients. You will be supported by senior management colleagues and gain a rich experience of low, moderate and more complex cases.
