The Role
As our eCommerce Officer, you will support the delivery of Yorkshire Cancer Research’s eCommerce income targets by managing the day-to-day operations of the eCommerce team. This includes overseeing the performance of eCommerce Assistants, ensuring excellent customer satisfaction, and driving operational efficiency to meet income goals.
Specifically, you will:
People Management
- Effectively manage the eCommerce Assistants, providing regular guidance, coaching, and performance reviews.
- Oversee daily and monthly tasks and priorities to ensure smooth operations and optimal productivity.
Commercial Responsibility

- Monitor and report on daily, weekly, and monthly income performance against targets.
- Ensure product listings are optimised for visibility and sales across all eCommerce platforms and contribute to weekly listings to ensure income targets are reached.
- Manage customer service processes to ensure high satisfaction and repeat engagement.
- Support the development and execution of promotional campaigns and seasonal sales strategies.
Continual Process Improvement
- Identify and implement improvements to operational workflows, including listing, order processing, and dispatch.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations (e.g., data protection, trading standards).
- Use data and customer feedback to refine processes and enhance the customer experience.
- Embed the new process of shops sending stock for eCommerce as a business-as-usual practice.
- Utilize ListingMonster AI to optimize product listings and improve efficiency.
- Work closely with the Warehouse Operations Manager to ensure stock availability and timely dispatch through effective management of warehousing capacity.
Collaboration & Communication

About You
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- To be ideally educated to A level or equivalent.
- To have eCommerce operations or retail management experience with eCommerce elements.

- To have the ability to analyse performance data and implement improvements.

Purpose
The Philanthropy Leads, reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, are responsible for inspiring new prospective, cultivating and stewarding high-value donors into greater involvement with Christians Against Poverty. They aim to draw supporters closer to the work we do, deepening their relationship and support of CAP. Income from CAP¿s major donors is vital for the future expansion of CAP in the UK.
Each Philanthropy Lead may be allocated one or more area of Philanthropy engagement in order to specialise in, but will be expected to support in any area as required. Such areas include:

Along with seeking direct support for the organisation Christians Against Poverty, there is also an expectation for the postholders to support the raising of funds for the wider movement, particularly for local Church frontline partners.
They themselves will be an experienced and confident relationship builder, communicator and fundraiser, cultivating relationships with high-value donors and partners to achieve ambitious targets.

Responsibilities
- Strategic Implementation & Fundraising
- Implementation of a strategic plan to significantly increase major donor income, with a target of 17.5% of overall revenue within 3 years.
- Implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy for major donor income, aligned with CAP's overall strategic priorities.
- Execution of market research and competitor analysis to identify new funding opportunities and best practice in Philanthropic fundraising.
- Build strong relationships with key internal stakeholders, in order to identify points of engagement and draft appropriate funding bids.
- Represent CAP at high-level events and conferences to build relationships with potential donors and partners.
Major Donor Development
- Manage a designated caseload of high-net-worth individuals or trusts, cultivating deep and meaningful relationships.
- Conduct face-to-face meetings, personalised communications, and bespoke stewardship plans to cultivate and steward major donors.
- Develop compelling restricted funding projects to attract major donor investment.
- Implement a donor recognition program to acknowledge and celebrate major donor support.
Philanthropy Team Membership
- A member of the Philanthropy Team of our Mission and Movement Directorate.
- Providing peer support and development with other members of the Philanthropy Team, fostering a high-performing and collaborative environment.
- Work with the Head of Philanthropy to set ambitious targets and KPIs for the postholder, ensuring they are aligned with overall fundraising goals.
- Ensure the timely submission of funding applications and effective stewardship of grant and donor relationships.
- Implement robust systems and processes for donor relationship management, data analysis, and performance tracking.
Impact & Reporting
- Ensure that the CRM is updated with engagements, proposal submissions and engagement plans in a timely fashion.
- Develop compelling narratives and impact reports that effectively communicate the impact of major donor support.
- Track and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of fundraising efforts and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide regular updates on fundraising progress to the Head of Philanthropy.
Innovation & Best Practices
- Stay abreast of current trends and best practices in major donor fundraising.
- Implement innovative fundraising strategies, such as engaging new philanthropists, digital engagement, corporate engagement and high-impact events.
- Evaluate philanthropy activities with the rest of the team and the Fundraising Insight & Innovation team to develop a deeper understanding of supporters and identify new prospects, making data-informed decisions.
- Champion a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the Philanthropy Team.
- Create opportunities for supporters to engage at a senior level and deepen their relationship with CAP, working with the CEO and other senior staff.
Communications & Campaign Management:
- Plan philanthropy initiatives that in order to produce excellent bids, proposals, events, and reports, delivered on time and within budget.
- Coordinate with the Brand and Digital Engagement teams to align messaging and campaigns.
- Ensure philanthropy plans align with brand guidelines and fundraising regulations.
Measurable Outputs:
- Implementation of an annual philanthropy plan that contributes to the wider long-term fundraising strategy.
- Deliver assigned agreed annual income targets for philanthropy which may include:
- Major Donor income
- Trusts & foundations income
- Corporate income
- Deliver key philanthropy targets including:
- Number of major donor prospects engaged and converted to a managed relationship

Skills required
- A proven fundraiser who can inspire, influence and deliver results
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills, particularly in securing philanthropic support and building partnerships
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build strong and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent and passionate written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organised and able to manage competing priorities
- Strong financial literacy, including experience managing budgets, tracking performance and forecasting income
- Able to analyse complex situations, identify challenges, and make sound, data-driven decisions
- A high level of emotional intelligence
Essential:
- Proven track record of success in securing significant major gifts (5-6 figures) from high-net-worth individuals.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in high-value fundraising.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with high-net-worth individuals.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong strategic planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong understanding of fundraising best practices and regulatory requirements.
Desirable:
- Experience of managing budgets for projects and campaigns.
- Knowledge of fundraising databases and CRM systems and Salesforce in particular.
Educational requirements

The Role
We are looking for a Supporter Engagement Assistant to join our Supporter Engagement Team to help us build strong and lasting relationships with our charity's supporters and donors.
Reporting to the Supporter Engagement Officer, as Supporter Engagement Assistant you will deliver excellent customer service over the telephone, in written (email and postal) communications and face to face, ensuring that supporters' details are accurately recorded on the CRM database. You will be representing the charity, explaining its purpose, and demonstrating our charity values to donors/supporters, showing appropriate empathy to those who may have cancer or a family member/friend who does.
This role provides a great opportunity to make a real difference to the people of Yorkshire and requires someone with a friendly manner, good team-working skills, great customer service and excellent organisational skills.
Specifically, you will:

Ensure supporter communications are accurate, timely and appropriate to the recipient. This includes following the relevant pathways to process donations, record legacy pledges, update key information so that the communication is tailored and relevant to the individual supporter.

Work alongside the Supporter Engagement Officer and other colleagues to improve the initial welcome journey for newly acquired donors and the onward stewardship of all supporters.

Conduct research and contribute ideas to improve supporter journeys and implement these processes independently.

Update supporter records on the charity’s CRM database to reflect changes in marketing permissions, personal details, the charity's relationship with the supporter (e.g. Volunteer/ Donor etc) and any communications between the supporter and the charity.

Use the CRM database to run supplied data queries to deliver campaigns (e.g. using Mail Merge) and to create and deliver supporter communications, this includes printing and posting letters, sending emails, making updates to supporter records and fulfilling requests for information.

Undertake other duties and take on a lead role in delivering projects and campaigns relevant to the purpose of the role as requested by members of the CRM, Marketing, Fundraising or Research & Impact teams.

Assist the wider Fundraising team at charity run and/or external events to represent the charity, help achieve agreed targets and provide exceptional stewardship to supporters.

Monitor inbound emails and telephone calls to the charity, forwarding to the relevant colleague (if unable to provide a response) or responding and actioning.
About You

The Role
We are currently looking for a Van Driver and Donation Centre Assistant to join our Retail, Services and Operations team.
Reporting to the Centre Manager, you will be part of the team responsible for ensuring the efficient running of the donation centre. The primary focus of this role is to deliver stock to our retail shops across Yorkshire in a timely manner. However, at busy times you will also be required to assist with sorting and selecting of stock, collecting and accepting donations at the centre or from donors, assisting with general maintenance tasks and supporting with the removal of general waste through the appropriate channels whilst working in compliance with all relevant Health and Safety legislation and our Driving for Work policy.
Specifically, you will:

Carry out deliveries of donated stock to shops ensuring that the shops receive the stock that they have requested from the Donation Centre.

Complete collections of furniture and goods across Yorkshire, including the disposal of waste materials, as directed.
-
Be responsible for day-to-day vehicle maintenance, including completion of the weekly vehicle maintenance checklist and daily visual checks.
-
Ensure charity vehicles are left secure, clean and presentable at the end of the day and ensure any vehicle defects and damage promptly are reported in accordance with charity procedures.

Be an ambassador for the charity whilst driving branded vehicles, ensuring that you drive carefully and mindfully of other road users.
-
Seek opportunities to actively engage with visitors to enhance their visit and further promote the profile of the charity.
-
Be responsible for assessing the quality of goods collected, including furniture which will include declining donations that are unsuitable for sale and may contravene the Sales of Goods Act 1979.

Take pride in the centre's presentation, seeing everything through the eyes of the visitor and addressing anything that would not meet a visitor's expectations.

Complete PAT testing of electrical donations to ensure that they are safe for us to sell (full training will be provided.)

In the absence of the Donation Centre Managers, monitor the Donation Centre email inbox daily for Stock Requests from shops and ensure that the Donation Centre team have prepared the stock in line with the weekly delivery schedule.

About the Role
Responsibilities of the role comprise:
Campaign planning
- Lead the delivery of an ambitious and creative media and campaign strategy to bring about an improved recognition of the value and impact of youth work.
- Lead on other campaign strategy and planning, utilising a range of campaign tactics integrating media, digital media and other campaign tactics, working closely with other members of the Comms team and across Directorates.
- Oversee campaign activity for the annual Youth Work Week, to ensure the campaign engages key opinion formers and provides an opportunity for those within the sector to celebrate the impactful work they do.
- Analyse campaign effectiveness, including setting and tracking metrics across digital and traditional media.
- Ensure campaign plans are fully scoped and uploaded to the online project management system.
- Leading on strategic approaches to celebrity supporters / ambassadors and ongoing relationship management.
Press Office function
- Lead proactive media monitoring, enabling timely responses to significant developments and tracking positions on issues relating to NYA’s work.
- Develop key messages and positioning statements on issues in the youth sector and NYA’s activities, role and stance and promote consistency of messaging across NYA’s channels.
- Managing and responding to reactive media enquiries, providing statement and reactive ‘lines to take’, with the support of the Head of Communications
- Producing engaging content for various channels and audiences including press releases, blogs, opinion pieces and media briefings to elevate NYA’s profile and demonstrate our expertise and thought leadership.
- Managing the media monitoring and media database, nurturing relationships with target journalists, as well as online news outlets and thought leaders on key strategic issues.
- Confidently working with charity and corporate partners to maximise opportunities to demonstrate the impact of their support.
- Provide line management and development support to two Communication Officers.
About You
Essential competencies of the Campaigns and Media Manager:
- A self-starter brimming with creative ideas and proven experience of designing and executing high-impact campaigns that bring about a measurable change in knowledge, behaviour and / or policy.
- Strong interpersonal skills for building effective relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders, including political audiences, and confident in growing new relationships and leading meetings.
- An ability to grasp complex information and distil key messages for different audiences and crucially, which tactics and channels to use to engage them
- Have proven experience and a strong understanding of the UK media landscape, with demonstrable experience of having nurtured relationships with national and sector journalists to garner high-quality coverage.
- An understanding of how to use research and intelligence gained from listening exercises and other stakeholder insights to inform campaign messaging and metrics.
- Be skilled in developing media strategics and developing case studies and using data to create compelling new hooks
- Be proficient in evaluating campaigns and media outputs, with the ability to derive insights that inform future strategies.
- Be proficient in drafting statements and media responses at speed and in line with key messages.
- Have outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce and edit content to a journalistic standard across diverse audiences and channels.
- Have an understanding of how to use social media platforms to engage audiences effectively, understanding their role in broader campaign strategies.
- Be experienced in line management and fostering the NYA culture of personal growth
- Excellent project management skills - able to keep track of all the moving parts to keep tasks on track and mitigate risks. Experience of using project management platform (or similar) would be an advantage.
- An understanding of data protection and safeguarding young people.
- A passion for using effective communications to promote youth work and celebrate the achievements of young people and youth workers.
- Highly competent in all Microsoft suite and ideally have experience of Google Drive and Sharepoint.

Salary and Progression
Trainee Debt Advisor starting salary of £24,477.20 with the opportunity to progress to a Debt Advisor role with a salary of £26,664.75 usually within 12 months. Further progression is available to a Senior Debt Advisor with a salary of £28,957.27, usually after 2 years (based on meeting necessary performance and development criteria).
After this there are manager and specialist roles that may become available to apply to for further career progression.
Location
Bradford or Blantyre office based initially during training, with a hybrid working split between home and the office after completion of initial training. There is also the option to work entirely from the office if preferred. Initial training will include one week in our Bradford Head Office.
As a Trainee Debt Advisor you will complete a comprehensive programme of classroom training, online training, exams and on the job sign off to equip you to be able to bring expert advice and support our clients in their journey to becoming debt free.
Once you step into one team, you will be working in a fast paced, but rewarding environment. As a debt advisor you will be creating bespoke advice, crafted to help each client gain greater control over their finances. Whether it is negotiating with creditors, or reassuring a distressed caller, as a debt advisor you’ll be demonstrating the highest standard of service, demonstrating both expertise in knowledge but also genuine care for those we are working with.
What a debt advisor does:

Build budgets to support clients in managing their finances

Create tailored advice plans to give suitable options to become debt free

Negotiate with creditors to create a sustainable payment plan and stop further debt collection

Resolve client queries over phone, email and SMS

Working with partner churches in running their local debt centres
Accountabilities:

Complete the Debt Advisor classroom and online training course

Create a client budget from information gathered by CAP centre staff, reviewing documentation, identifying further queries and applying guidance to expenditure

To advise clients on their best options to deal with their financial difficulties. This includes formulating a strategy to become debt free, as well as broader advice relevant to their financial situation

Identify potential enforcement action against clients, negotiating with creditors to establish sustainable plans for repaying debts (or holding further enforcement action)

To deal with client and creditor queries as they arise through the various communication methods available; including phones, post, emails and SMSs
