MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Events Fundraising
- Assist in the planning and execution of a diverse range of fundraising events, including challenge events and community initiatives.
- Support the management of event logistics, including participant communication, volunteer coordination, and on-the-day activities.
- Collaborate with external partners and suppliers to ensure smooth event operations and build strong relationships for future collaboration.
Community Fundraising
- Lead outreach efforts to engage new local community partners, such as (small) businesses, schools, and clubs, promoting fundraising opportunities and supporting their initiatives.
- Provide stewardship for in-memory and in-celebration fundraisers, ensuring they receive the information and support needed to maximise their fundraising potential.
- To represent the charity as and when required in schools, engagement events and cheque presentations.
Supporter Care
- Serve as the primary point of contact for community and events fundraisers, delivering outstanding stewardship that enhances their experience with the charity.
- Provide timely and effective follow-up communications with supporters, ensuring they feel valued and engaged.
- Manage our CRM database.
- Maintain accurate records to track communications, income, and supporter preferences, ensuring compliance with GDPR and data protection laws.
- Continuously evaluate the supporter journey, aiming to enhance retention and engagement.
Administrative and Financial Support
- Process cash and cheque donations, Gift Aid and matched funding claims, ensuring this income is processed and recorded accurately on our database.
- Adhering to fundraising budgets, tracking income, and ensuring effective expenditure management.
- Manage the distribution of supporter resources, conduct stock checks for fundraising materials and ensure an organised work environment for all fundraising assets.
- Overseeing our online shop.
Marketing and Communication
- Create engaging materials (posters, leaflets, stories etc) and social media content to inspire participation in fundraising activities.
- Produce regular newsletters and impact reports.
- Ensure fundraising and associated webpages are kept up to date.
- Collate information for the Head of Fundraising to support trust and foundation applications.
Team Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with the wider team (when required) to support in-hospital and community events as well as assisting with tasks as needed to ensure smooth charity operations.
- Support team members with ad hoc projects, activities, and any high-priority tasks to contribute to overall team objectives.
- Any other duties as required by the Head of Fundraising.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Salary is £27000 - £29,000 (depending on experience) per annum. The role covers 37.5 hours per week. Two days per week working in our charity office and the remaining hours working remotely. Occasional evening and weekend work subject to our events calendar.
One-year fixed term contract however there is potential to extend contract length after 12 months subject to performance.
A full driving licence or the ability to travel to events and meetings within London and the South East is essential.

The role requires successful completion of an enhanced DBS check and mandatory training including level 3 safeguarding (costs covered by charity).

As the HR Officer you’ll be responsible for providing an efficient, friendly and high-quality HR and recruitment service to our amazing internal customers across the organisation.
You’ll also be undertaking general HR support and provide cover for colleagues within the HR Operations team as and when required.

Partnership Experience Manager (Maternity Cover)
Salary: £38,814 - £44,581 pro-rata (depending on experience and FTE)
Contract: 12 months fixed-term contract (Maternity Cover- might be potentially extended)
Start Date: Date to be agreed (potentially August)
Location: This is currently a blended-working role with two in-office days (Tuesday-Thursday) during term time and the flexibility to work from home during school holidays. Occasional travel to schools and events will be required.
We will consider reduced office days for a successful candidate based in one of our target regions across the North and Midlands. If this might be relevant for you we are happy to explore in a conversation with you before or during the recruitment process.

About the role
You will play a key role in driving the continuous improvement and growth of our national partnership through deepening the quality and impact of our local collaboration hubs. You will also oversee the day-to-day running of hubs of our schools and trusts, which includes holding responsibility for the operations of the Partnerships Team and working closely with the Partnership Lead to ensure that all hubs, schools and trusts have an excellent experience with Challenge Partners.
You will also oversee the implementation of the organisation’s Account Management strategy, working closely with members of the Leadership Team to implement our strategy for effective partnership experience (our term for account management and customer service) for our partner schools and trusts. Role Overview
As a member of the Joint Leadership Team, the post-holder will contribute to the leadership, planning and delivery of cross-team projects, helping to influence and meet the charity’s strategic objectives. Specifically, they will lead projects and programmes to deliver improvements in quality and standards of health services for people affected by Crohn’s and Colitis. In doing so, they will work closely with not only the Director of Services & Evidence and Heald of Health Services, but also external stakeholders including health and social care organisations, academics, researchers and other charities. The post-holder will also be actively involved in leading, supporting and developing the Health Services team.
About You
Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent, you will have experience of delivering health service projects and programmes and have come from a health services or medical charity background. You will be adept at developing operational performance metrics, strategies and objectives and have a proven track record in developing strong working relationships with external stakeholders. Whilst not essential, experience of managing and leading a team would be beneficial, as would be an awareness and knowledge of the needs of people affected by Crohn’s and Colitis.

Our Location
We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail. In this role, there is plenty of scope for working from home, although there will be times when you will need to travel to events/conferences. You will be required to attend two Directorate days each year and occasional face-to-face meetings with your team or our partner agencies. In addition, the charity meets four times annually at its office in Hatfield (or a location in London) for its’ ‘All Staff Together’ days, at which attendance is mandatory.

About the role:

About the role:
As Director of Services, you will be responsible for a wide range of services including Hospital services (A&E support, discharge and falls prevention), community services (activity groups, befriending, clubs), information and advice services (including benefits, housing, carers and statutory advocacy).
You will be responsible for ensuring all contracts and grants deliver to targets and provide services of the highest possible quality standards with demonstrable impact measures and feedback systems.
You will be a key member of our Senior Management Team (SMT), helping to develop and deliver on our new 5-year strategy, and contributing towards the annual business planning and budgeting processes.
Alongside our CEO you will be responsible for managing our external partnerships and third sector consortia. You will help to ensure we influence the priorities of our three local authorities and play a key role in the NHS transformation agenda across Northwest London. You will be based in a positive, creative and ambitious organisation, supported by a skilled SMT and responsible for a team of experienced managers.
Your key responsibilities will include:
• Provide strategic leadership, direction and development of all Age UK HHB Services, contributing to organisational strategy and the annual business planning process.
• To work with the leadership team to identify and resource development opportunities, and to ensure our activity is providing optimum impact to improve the lives of older people in the borough
• Line Manage and develop Head of Services, Service Managers and other staff as appropriate, including setting targets and monitoring performance by ensuring that regular supervisions and appraisals are carried out, and tackling any performance issues in line with policies and procedures.
• Ensure Age UK HHB staff and volunteers are provided with up-to-date information sources, including any changes in national and local policy. To ensure services achieve external and internal quality frameworks and best practice guidance and to drive efficient working practices.
• Develop and oversee systems for feedback from service users to ensure the work, ethos and culture of Age UK HHB are informed by older people.
• To ensure quality data is captured for all service delivery allowing us to measure reach and impact for effective performance management, overseeing the provision of monitoring reports and dashboards for funders and board
• To work with the CEO, Managers and Trustees to develop annual budgets and to ensure services and projects are delivered to budget.
• Work closely with external partners and commissioning/funding agencies to ensure that Age UK HHB delivers the range of services that are required and/or contracted, on time and on budget.
About you:
To be successful in the role you will need to be able to operate effectively in challenging times and a constantly changing working environment. Experience in successful leadership, managing people, organisational change and improving business processes to support the charity’s strategy will be essential to this role.
Essential skills and experience include:
• Educated to Degree level or equivalent, or substantial successful senior management experience.
• Proven experience as an inspirational and successful leader of teams of staff and volunteers.
• Substantial experience in effective management of time, tasks and projects.
• Demonstrable experience of working within and/or influencing change in health and social care services.
• Experience in designing, planning, leading and mobilising new or remodelled services from concept through to business as usual.
• Knowledge of the voluntary sector and its ways of working with knowledge and understanding of user involvement and empowerment.
• Knowledge and understanding of local health and social care structures.
• Excellent written and verbal presentation skills.
