In this newly created role, you will act as a key advisor, reporting directly into the CEO, and will have responsibility of key areas of the Trust’s operational functions, ensuring the smooth and effective running and delivery of services. Key responsibilities of the role include but not limited to:
- Oversight and line management of the HR, Learning, Communications & Marketing, and Community Engagement functions of the Trust.

- Be a key part of the Executive Team, chaired by the CEO.

- Develop and implement planning processes and performance management tools to ensure effective delivery of goals.
- Develop, drive and maintain the data gathering and analysis for the Westway Trust, that enables the Social Impact Framework and to play a key role in the organisation’s progress towards creating a strong narrative in respect of achievement.
- Attend People Committee Meetings and the Board as requested, and contribute to the preparation of meeting papers as necessary in line with agenda requirements.
- Provide upward reporting and insight to the CEO including written briefings, performance dashboards, and recommendations.
- Attend internal and external meetings, including those that require representing the Trust publicly, in line with agreed strategies and perspectives.

Essential Experience, Skills and Attributes:
- Minimum 5 years’ senior leadership or operational management experience in a multi-disciplinary organisation, ideally within a community, charitable, social enterprise or values-led setting.
- Proven ability to lead, guide and motivate diverse teams and to support the professional growth of those who report to you as a line manager.
- Demonstrable experience of good practice approaches to conflict resolution, working in collaboration with others and encouraging honesty, transparency and open ways of working across teams that benefit the organisation’s effectiveness and efficiency.

- Degree-level education together with a recognised professional qualification in any of the fields this role covers - or equivalent lived/professional experience – is highly desirable.

Purpose of the Job
The role is a key part of the HFEH Mind team delivering mental health services across Hammersmith & Fulham, Ealing, and Hounslow.
The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, supporting, and retaining volunteers across the charity. You will ensure that volunteers have a positive experience, receive appropriate training and guidance, and feel valued for the time and skills they give. You will also work closely with staff to match volunteers to roles.
We currently offer three types of volunteering roles at HFEH Mind:
- Client facing support– Working alongside staff supporting service users
- Events – Supporting outreach & fundraising efforts and promoting our work
- Central Support – Blogging, graphic design, administration, etc.
General/Key Responsibilities
- Interview, recruit, onboard, and induct new volunteers in line with organisational needs, maintaining around 50-60 volunteers across the charity.
- Work with staff to identify new volunteering opportunities and develop volunteer role descriptions.
- Work effectively to ensure volunteers feel a part of HFEH Mind and gain value from their time with us.
- Develop and maintain volunteer policies, role descriptions, and procedures.
- Ensure all volunteering activity adheres to safeguarding, GDPR and health and safety policies.
- Promote volunteering opportunities through social media, local networks, and community partnerships
- Develop and deliver engaging volunteer training, support sessions and recognition initiatives.
- Be the main point of contact to support volunteers, listen to suggestions and/or concerns and support in resolve any volunteering related issues or complaints.
- Provide advice and guidance to volunteers about their matched relationship (with support from the wider team) and highlight safeguarding concerns as appropriate.
- Ensure each volunteer is assigned a named supervisor and receives appropriate supervision (at least every 4–6 weeks depending on role)
Volunteering Experience

Administrative
- Maintain an up-to-date volunteer database and contact list.
- Support Director of Adult Services to provide reflective practice sessions for service-facing volunteers.
- Ensure volunteer training compliance is at required levels.
Other Responsibilities
- Join monthly volunteer meeting with Operational Directors, Head of Marketing & Communications and Head of HR.

Role summary
To support the Head of Fundraising and Communications in the delivery of the communications and fundraising strategy at ReMind UK through planning, production and delivery of on and offline marketing communications. ReMind UK overview
ReMind UK is an independent charity and internationally renowned centre for research, diagnosis and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. Our research aims to improve life for people with dementia and their families and carers, and to find drug and non-drug treatments for people with conditions such as Alzheimer's disease and other diseases predominantly affecting older people. Our contracted NHS Memory Clinic service, private memory assessments and allied activities also provide support to people affected. We are currently in an ambitious phase of development looking to Increase our clinical and academic research programme. We work closely with the Universities of Bath, Bristol and other research Institutions, both nationally and internationally and with the Royal United Hospital, Bath.
The role
As Marketing Officer, you will play an important role in helping ReMind UK to realise its vision by overseeing marketing for ReMind UK. You will line manage a Content Executive and together you will design, produce and disseminate materials and communications to raise the profile of the organisation and its work, and in turn raise funding to enable ReMind UK to continue its vital research and support for people affected by dementia.
You will plan and deliver an annual calendar of social posts and adverts, emails, marketing and PR activities including digital and print through organic and paid for media, and working with local organisations and groups. Working closely with ReMind UK's Content Officer you will coordinate website updates and content additions.
Key responsibilities
· Line management of ReMind UK's Content Executive to create an annual plan for coordinated marketing campaigns across channels.
· Responsibility for day-to-day management of the charity’s social media channels including Facebook, BlueSky and LinkedIn, delivering consistent promotion of the organisation, ensuring content remains fresh and engaging and moderating accounts to ensure positive PR for the organisation.
· Develop excellent working relationships with external suppliers, publications, local and national press, magazines, TV and Radio to create new opportunities for ReMind UK to publicise its services and support across the region.
· Working with the Head of Fundraising and Communications, produce and deliver a communications strategy that incorporates digital marketing, PR activity and fundraising communications.
· Manage ReMind UK's email management tool - regularly designing and sending tailored emails to beneficiaries and supporters.
- Update and maintain contact and email data on the supporter CRM with supporter and beneficiary contact details and unsubscribes retained in accordance with Data Protection policy and patient and families wishes.
· Measure and report analytics as required by Head of Fundraising & Communications including email and social media engagement rates, website use and content management indicators, exposure to marketing ads placed and awareness created through partnerships with local social prescribers and partner organisations.
· With the Content Executive maintain ReMind UK's website ensuring content is consistently refreshed, added to and tested to ensure optimisation and coherent journeys and user experience for each of our audiences.
· Design marketing materials and internal publications as requested by the ReMind UK staff team.
· Act as brand guardian in the production and use of materials, documents and marketing across the organisation.
· Ensure ReMind UK is marketing its services and support through the use of posters, leaflets and video and maintain the leaflets and materials available in the reception area.

The Head of Fundraising and Communications will lead on the development and implementation of strategies to diversify and grow our income streams, strengthen our brand, and increase engagement with key audiences. You will have a proven background of successful fundraising activities, diversifying engagement and income and cultivating key relationships through communication strategies.

Some of the area you are expected to work on are the following, and the rest can be defined by you:
- Budgets and Targets: You are directly responsible for the budgets, and income targets attached to Fundraising and Communications.
- Engagement and Income Diversification: Develop and implement strategies to diversify income streams, including legacy giving, corporate partnerships, individual donations, and major donors.
- Marketing and Communications Strategy: Create and implement strategies to reach a wider audience through innovative marketing and communications channels.
- NHS and Private Sector Opportunities: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the NHS and private sector.
- Relationship Management: Manage key relationships with donors, partners, and stakeholders.
- Team Leadership: Manage and support Fundraising, Marketing and Communications officers, ensuring alignment with fundraising goals and charity objectives overall.
- Lead our flagship campaigns: This year we are developing an online campaign, currently called Scroll Safe, to tackle the issues with online safety, we are included in the parliamentary act, and we wish this to be a multi-year campaign. It is in development for 2025, and you are expected to hit the ground running. Other campaigns include Eating Disorder Awareness Week, and Christmas.
- Digital Agency and PR Management: Oversee the work of digital agencies and PR consultant to enhance online presence and engagement with public relations and media outreach.
- Ambassadors and Patrons Management: Engage and manage relationships with ambassadors and patrons to leverage their support and influence.
- Web Development Leadership: Lead the development and maintenance of the charity's website to ensure it effectively supports fundraising and communication efforts as well as providing clear and concise support to our service users, carers and professionals.
- Manage our portfolio of events: We have an emerging trend in challenge events, and we manage these carefully and mindfully especially long-distance sporting events. This requires key insights in trends and work with our marketing team on key insights.
- Working with the CEO: You will identify opportunities for strategic communications and growth. You will network with likeminded individuals from other charities and build sector connections.
- Senior Leadership Team: You will be an integral part of our Senior Leadership Team, which means working across the whole charity on tasks that may pop up, and planning with the team our Organisational Development.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a senior fundraising and communications role, preferably within the charity sector.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Relationship Management, or a related field.
Skills:
- Strong strategic planning and implementation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in fundraising software and CRM systems.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
