Role Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to shape Shine’s strategic direction while managing the operational delivery of our services for children, young people, and families aged 0–25. Building on the success of our Little Stars/Ser Bach programme for members aged 0–12 and the development and extension of the FIRE (Friendship, Independence, Resilience, Empowerment) programme for those aged 13–25, you will play a key role in shaping the future of our support for children, young people and their families.
Working across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland, you will lead the delivery of an established, evidence-based programme that improves health, social, and emotional outcomes for those living with spina bifida, hydrocephalus, and associated conditions.
You’ll lead a passionate team and work closely with Shine’s Adult Services Team (25+), Health Team, Wales and Northern Ireland Managers and wider colleagues across the organisation to ensure work is coordinated, complementary, and beneficial to members. At the same time, you’ll forge strong partnerships with NHS professionals, statutory services, and voluntary organisations—driving collaboration that will support our vision of providing consistent, high-quality support for children, young people and families nationwide.

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to contribute to international research funding programmes and gain insight into how cancer prevention research is supported and delivered?
We are seeking a Research Funding Officer (Operations) to support the delivery of our research funding programmes, with a particular focus on the integration of the American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR) grant programme into the WCRF International portfolio. This is a fixed-term role for 18 months.
In this role, you will support the operational delivery of WCRF International’s grant programmes across both pre-award and post-award activities. You will contribute to the administration of grant calls, respond to applicant queries, process applications, support peer review and Panel meetings, and help maintain and develop our grant management system. You will also track research outputs, maintain grant records and contribute to internal reporting and analysis.
You will have a relevant scientific background (e.g. nutrition, public health, cancer biology or a related discipline), with experience working in a research or administrative environment (ideally within academia or research management).You will have a strong analytical mindset and be comfortable working with data, systems and tracking processes, and be highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong communication skills and confidence interacting with a range of stakeholders is key as is being proactive, adaptable and able to work as part of a small, collaborative team.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organisational and analytical skills who enjoys working with data and complex processes. The postholder will gain a unique insight into the full research funding lifecycle, supporting both the pre-award and post-award stages of international grant programmes. Working closely with experienced colleagues across the Research Funding team, the successful candidate will develop a strong understanding of how research funding programmes are designed, delivered and monitored, while applying their scientific knowledge to real-world research projects. The role provides valuable experience in grant management, research administration and data analysis, offering a strong foundation for a future career in research funding and management, the charity or policy sector, or academic research.

About the Role

AMMF is the UK’s only charity solely dedicated to raising awareness of and funding research into cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer). The charity works closely throughout the UK with clinicians, healthcare professionals, researchers, policy makers, patients and their carers, as well as actively collaborating across Europe and globally.
The role of the Fundraising Support and Admin Officer is to deliver high quality, responsive fundraising support across all areas of fundraising, and to drive forward AMMF’s fundraising activities, strategy and relationship development with supporters and funding partners, including the development and use of social media, and Microsoft Office, to achieve this.
It is expected the Fundraising Support and Admin Officer will develop an understanding of AMMF’s aims and objectives and its policies and procedures.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Successfully co-ordinate and manage all fundraising activities – which include individual giving, digital fundraising, events, In Memory, legacy giving and online shop sales.
- Support all aspects of contact with AMMF’s supporters and fundraisers, via social media platforms, the discussion groups and forums, email, including e-shots, mail and telephone.
- Manage and maintain the fundraisers’ events diary.
- Develop, maintain and manage a comprehensive database of supporters and fundraisers using a CRM system.
- Manage and record all information relating to fundraisers’ activities, results and income, including recording Gift Aid.
- Record, reconcile and provide accurate financial information to the CEO and trustees as required.
- Identify and progress fundraising opportunities to generate sustainable income.
- Support the Head of Events and Campaigns with the delivery of fundraising campaigns, ensuring they are cost effective and maximise income.
- Support the development of a fundraising and communication strategy.
- Manage all aspects of the charity’s online shop.
- Attend external AMMF networking, partner and fundraising events when required.
- Attend the annual AMMF conference and fulfil duties as required.
- Produce ad hoc reports to support senior management team as and when required.
- Carry out projects and/or any ad hoc tasks as required by the CEO and Head of Events and Campaigns.
General:
- Effectively communicate internally and externally, providing a professional and courteous service at all times.
- Support team members, fundraisers, supporters and volunteers to be as effective as possible in their work for AMMF.
- To be prepared to work flexibly, when required, to best meet the needs of the charity.
- To participate in team meetings, training courses, events, and e-learning where required/appropriate.
- Ensure that all administration associated with this role is delivered promptly, with particular focus on database management and communication with fundraisers and supporters.
- Ensure all activities and actions comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and relevant charity Codes of Practice.
Person Specification:
Essential criteria
- Previous experience and understanding of working within the charity sector and, in particular, of fundraising using a range of techniques including social media, and knowledge of fundraising platforms such as Justgiving, Enthuse, Benevity, Charities Trust, Much Loved, CAF.
- Competent with Microsoft Office, in particular Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and with emailing services such as Mailchimp, virtual meeting platforms Teams and Zoom, and social media platforms, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Instagram, Bluesky, and Hootsuite.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- To be sensitive to the areas of work AMMF is involved in.
- Ability to motivate and enthuse colleagues, fundraisers and supporters.
- Willing and able to work outside usual office hours to support external events where, when and if required.
- Current driving license and access to /use of a vehicle (useful not essential).
- To possess or achieve a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

The Key Relationships programme sits at the heart of Greenpeace UK’s fundraising, securing the philanthropic investment that powers its campaigning work. The team raises around £15–16 million annually from major donors, trusts and foundations and legacies, contributing significantly to the organisation’s wider fundraising income of approximately £37 million.
We are now seeking an outstanding Deputy Fundraising Director, Key Relationships to provide strategic leadership for this vital programme. Reporting to the Fundraising Director and managing a team of 15 (with five direct reports), the role combines high-level leadership with hands-on engagement with major donors and senior stakeholders.
This is a pivotal moment for Greenpeace UK’s Key Relationships programme. Following a period of organisational change and restructuring, the successful candidate will help strengthen the major donor and philanthropic pipeline while shaping the future direction of the programme. The role will also play a central part in Greenpeace’s ambitious global capital campaign to fund a new ship and the campaigning work it will support, with Greenpeace UK contributing £20 million towards a €100 million international target by 2028.
As Deputy Fundraising Director, Key Relationships, you will:
- Provide strategic leadership for Greenpeace UK’s Key Relationships programme, overseeing fundraising from major donors, trusts and foundations and legacies
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of 15, ensuring the programme delivers and grows significant philanthropic income
- Maintain and develop senior relationships with major donors, funders and strategic external stakeholders
- Play a key leadership role in Greenpeace’s global capital campaign to fund a new ship and global campaigning programme
- Work closely with colleagues across fundraising, campaigns and programmes to develop compelling funding opportunities aligned with Greenpeace’s priorities
- Contribute to the strategic direction of the organisation as a member of the Fundraising Leadership Team
- Lead and shape Greenpeace UK’s key influencer strategy, owning a 3-year programme that connects our campaigns and fundraising ambitions to the people who can amplify their impact
- Represent Greenpeace UK externally and internationally, helping strengthen relationships across the wider Greenpeace network and sector partners
This role will suit an experienced fundraising leader who combines strategic thinking with the ability to build strong relationships and inspire high-performing teams.
Ideal skills and experience:
- A strong track record of leading successful high-value fundraising and/or philanthropy programmes
- Extensive experience of establishing and sustaining relationships with senior level external stakeholders and/or funders
- Proven experience of successfully managing and supporting a team responsible for high value partnerships and/or philanthropy fundraising, including managing managers
- Experience of financial planning, forecasting and developing investment cases
- Demonstrable experience of convincingly and persuasively engaging with a wide range of people including high profile major donors
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire a wide range of audiences
- Strong strategic judgement and the ability to operate confidently in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
- Ability to inspire others, particularly in creative risk-taking and innovation
- A deep commitment to Greenpeace’s values and mission to defend nature, social justice and peace

As Senior New Business Manager, you will lead the new business function of our high-performing and ambitious Corporate Partnerships team. You will be responsible for driving new corporate income by identifying, cultivating and securing major partnerships. You will lead all new business activity with the New Business Manager, from proactive outreach and developing compelling propositions to successfully negotiating and onboarding new partners.

You’ll also be the guiding light for our delivery partners and service providers as we want them to deliver the best experience and outcomes for our young people. High-fives all around! Roll up your sleeves and deliver employability sessions directly to our incredible young people. You'll also help our Delivery Partners and volunteers do the same, both in person and virtually through our trusty MS Teams. When we're doing things face-to-face, you’ll need to hit the road and be there in person to help with programme delivery or programme visits to make sure all is running as smoothly as possible.
And if that’s not enough to keep you busy, you’ll also be keeping meticulous records of information and data on our young people, volunteers, and partners. It's all about making sure every step of their journey is accurately reflected in our systems so that it complies with our funding contracts.

You will be building great relationships with our Corporate members and involving them with the work of the trust and inspiring them to support our range of inspiring projects. You will use your networking skills at events to proactively find new corporate supporters, and retain our existing supporters by running corporate events on our nature reserves across the county. You will further develop our corporate volunteering offering, working closely with our land management team, creating great days out for our supporters’ employees that they’ll recommend to their colleagues.

The role will require extensive travel throughout the county, visiting networking events and arranging relationships between corporates and our wildlife projects, such as the Rye Harbour Discovery Centre.
