Job purpose
We are looking for an experienced marketing communications professional to help us increase our reach and build new audiences across the veterinary sector and with animal owners. Reporting to the head of communications, marketing and digital, the role will oversee the development of a range of marketing approaches to ensure our products and services are well supported and promoted to relevant audiences in engaging, creative ways.
As our marketing lead, you will develop and execute innovative and effective campaigns to help us achieve our strategic aims. Working closely with your colleagues in our small and friendly team, you will build strong relationships to ensure that you can deliver appropriate messaging and calls to action to our target audiences. Your work will play a key role in supporting income growth through effective marketing of income-generating products, and fundraising campaigns. You will also contribute to the development and implementation of our content strategy, helping the organisation to understand and meet our audiences’ needs with timely and engaging content.

Key responsibilities
- Establish an annual marketing calendar incorporating ‘always on’ and one-off campaigns.
- Lead on the development and execution of marketing campaigns to help us achieve our strategic goals.
- Support income growth through the development of effective marketing activities.
- Evaluate marketing activity, sharing insights with colleagues and making recommendations for improvements informed by evidence.
- Create and commission engaging content, for use across a range of platforms and activities, which meets audience needs and drives actions.
- Contribute to our content strategy, identifying opportunities for content to support marketing goals.
- Lead on ensuring the data quality of contact lists, ensuring all marketing activity is undertaken observing the requirements of data protection legislations (GDPR).
- Review our marketing and communications channels on a regular basis, ensuring we are using them to best effect and identify opportunities for improvement or new channels to support our objectives.
- Supporting our income targets by managing fundraising campaigns and the development of new income-generating products including corporate partnership offers.
- Supporting our presence at external events with marketing activity, collateral and organising exhibition stands.
- Work with members of the wider RCVS Knowledge team to develop and deliver stakeholder events.
- Manage our Google Ads activity, ensuring effective use of our Google Grant and that a range of campaigns is maintained which is well targeted and reflects the breadth of our offers.
- Support the development of the communications team ways of working, to ensure we are delivering high-quality work which is managed effectively and efficiently and that contributes to maintaining strong relationships.
Essential Criteria
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- A track record in, and passion for, marketing communications gained in either in-house or agency roles.
- Experience of planning, executing and evaluating effective marketing campaigns.
- Experience of creating engaging content for a range of platforms, which follows best practices and supports marketing objectives.
- Experience of agency, freelancer and supplier management, including the ability to brief and on-board new suppliers.
- Excellent writing and editing skills.
- Experience of working with digital marketing tools and platforms, including social media, email marketing, CRM and content management systems.
- Ability to build strong and effective working relationships internally and externally.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously, ensuring they are delivered on time and in budget.

About you
We are looking for someone to join the charity’s Senior Leadership Team who will bring experience from their past successes and provide inspirational strategic leadership and direction to the fundraising and communications functions in support of the Dementia Adventure business plan, charitable mission and objectives. The Role
The Head of Partnerships and Fundraising is responsible for the majority of income generation for our charity. The Switch raises income from corporate volunteering partnerships and through grant applications to other trusts and charities, which together contribute circa £800,000 per year. This is a role that requires strategic thinking, relationship and negotiation skills, and the ability to meet income targets.
This role will manage and grow our current key corporate partners, ensuring sustainability and longevity in our partnerships. The person will be responsible for communicating effectively with corporate partners on a strategic level, to understand how we can improve our volunteering offer and communicate impact to their business.
The job-holder will seek new partnerships in diverse industries where we have fewer stakeholders, to ensure our young people work with companies and volunteers from wide-ranging sectors.
In this position you will scope fundraising opportunities from grant and trusts, and be adept at assessing our viability so that applications we submit have a higher rate of success than average.
As Head of Partnerships and Fundraising, you will create new income streams which The Switch has not considered before, for example legacy funding, individual giving, corporate match funding. This will improve our financial stability.
In addition to income generation, this role will lead the Partnerships team and manage two to three staff as follows :
1. Our Corporate Partnerships and Volunteer Manager - oversees all volunteer logistics, including maintaining volunteer records and distributing relevant briefing materials to ensure volunteers are well-prepared for their role. Some time dedicated to fundraising too.
2. Our Communication Coordinator – leads on our regular comms including our digital newsletter, social media pages, and bespoke comms for projects or funders.

Details
· The Head of Partnerships and Fundraising leads the Partnerships Team and reports to the CEO.
· Working hours are typically 9am – 5pm Monday – Thursday, and 9am – 4pm Fridays.
· Working from home (WFH) is typically 2 days a week, with Wednesdays mandatory in the office.

The Social and Digital Marketing Manager works closely with the Head of Marketing & Communications, Income Generation and Engagement directorate and the Children’s Services directorate to develop and deliver digital campaigns across the charity to increase reach and brand awareness, deepen engagement, and encourage support from our warm and cold target audiences.

We’re looking for a Marketing Manager (Fixed Term) to join our team
Salary: Circa £40,000
Base: Central Edinburgh/hybrid
Hours: Full time and fixed term for 12 months. 35 hours a week over core working hours of 10am – 3pm, Monday to Friday, with a one-hour lunch break. The office is open 8am – 7pm daily and our hybrid working policy requires all full-time employees to work at least two days a week in the Edinburgh office.

What will you be doing?
· Championing the needs of supporters, who are known as Curestarters. You’ll take time to understand their needs and commission new market research to unlock new insights.
· Leading campaigns to drive Brand awareness and grow income. You’ll manage a calendar of marketing activity to engage and inspire Curestarters.
· Overseeing our media mix. You’ll lead on media planning for the charity and spend time keeping your advertising knowledge up to date.
· Learning and testing. You’ll lead on reporting for your campaigns and collaborate with colleagues or agency partners to ensure we have the insight to develop new tests to help us improve.

The role of Hospitality Marketing Officer (HMO) focuses on all aspects of traditional and digital marketing activity, both B2B and B2C, in support of some key commercial activities of the commercial trading company RWL (on-site retail and catering, The Five Arrows Hotel, and The Bow Pub).
What you will do:
The Hospitality Marketing Officer is a part-time role of three days a week supporting the marketing of onsite catering and retail operations of Waddesdon Manor, The Bow pub and the Five Arrows Hotel. The role also contributes to Waddesdon Manor and RWL (commercial trading) overall marketing and online strategy, and supports its brand and positioning by working closely with colleagues across both the hospitality and visitor operation.
You’ll develop and implement creative marketing campaigns to promote and increase sales for the following areas of the trading company’s business:
· The Five Arrows Hotel
· The Bow Pub
· Wine at Waddesdon (both wine sales and wine related events)
· Waddesdon online shop (predominantly wine)
· Afternoon teas and special food events in Waddesdon’s Manor Restaurant
The Hospitality Marketing Officer makes a visible impact on the weekly sales results, monthly profit and loss results and in terms of positive customer feedback.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Input to develop marketing strategies and implement plans to meet commercial targets for hospitality and visitor attraction businesses, in particular supporting increased on-site spend in the Waddesdon catering outlets, including the Five Arrows Hotel and The Bow pub.
- Manage development and update of websites for the Five Arrows and Bow and details of catering and wine events at the Manor.
- Develop strategic marketing campaigns for the Five Arrows Hotel’s core businesses, including bedrooms, restaurant and bar.
- Develop strategic marketing campaigns for the Bow Pub’s core businesses, including restaurant and bar.
- Develop the online wine business including the Waddesdon Wine Club.
- Manage marketing campaigns using the full marketing mix across online and offline channels.
- Manage external suppliers including design, production and distribution of marketing materials and commissioning photography.
- Use a CRM database and email software to effectively manage communications.
- Monitor the outcomes of marketing activity and evaluate against plans, contributing to monthly reports.
- Monitor competitor activity to ensure we are learning and evolving to become as relevant and engaging as possible.
- Contribute to marketing budget management and assist with forward planning in liaison with the managers of each business area.
- Work closely with the wider marketing team and all Waddesdon colleagues, sharing news on activity, to ensure that opportunities are maximised.
