ABOUT THE ROLE
The Head of Marketing and Communications will strategically lead Trees for Cities’ marketing and communications to grow reach, influence and engagement, delivering agreed organisational objectives, OKRs and KPIs.
This role leads the strategic direction and delivery of Trees for Cities’ marketing and communications function, ensuring campaigns, communications and audience engagement activities support organisational objectives and deliver measurable growth. The postholder oversees team performance, external partners, media relations, fundraising communications and marketing for the Trees for Streets programme, while driving audience development, supporter stewardship and digital innovation. As a senior leader, they contribute to organisational strategy, provide expert communications counsel, manage budgets and resources, and foster a high-performing, inclusive team culture that strengthens the organisation’s profile, reputation and long-term impact.

As our Head of Marketing and Communications, you'll be a confident and inspiring leader with a proven track record of growing audiences, building influential brands and delivering impactful multi-channel campaigns. You'll be equally comfortable shaping long-term strategy as rolling up your sleeves to make things happen, bringing energy, creativity and commercial awareness to everything you do.
We're looking for someone who can spot opportunities, tell compelling stories and build meaningful engagement with supporters, partners, policymakers and the public. You'll have strong experience across marketing, communications, PR, digital engagement and brand management, alongside excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to lead and develop a high-performing team.

They help cool our cities, improve health and wellbeing, support biodiversity and create greener, more resilient communities. This role is responsible for how Plan International holistically considers its supporters and how different interactions with the organisation can influence support.
As Head of Supporter Marketing & Public Fundraising you will be responsible for leading the teams that focus on how Plan International attracts, retains and stewards its supporters, delivering successful integrated marketing campaigns that grow public fundraising income and impact.
Plan International UK currently benefits from c.66,000 sponsors, c.42,000 campaigners and a wealth of regular supporters. You’ll lead a team of 22 (3 direct reports) to identify and think about the potential crossover of these audiences, developing and executing innovative marketing strategies that maximise the potential for their support, ultimately growing income and supporter lifetime value.
By adopting a whole funnel approach you will lead with a growth marketing mindset, considering the bigger picture and marketing campaigns needed to increase brand awareness and draw in new audiences, alongside the multi product approach required to convert them into new supporters.
