The Events & Fundraising Manager will work at the heart of our public events programme, helping to organise fundraising walks and other events across London and the South East, and raising funds to support the provision of free legal advice. Our events include the London Legal Walk -- an annual event which raises over £1 million each year -- regional Legal Walk events, and other fundraising events such as the Great Legal Quiz and the Great Legal Bake. LLST also purchases places for third party events such as the London Marathon, Brighton Marathon, and Big Half. We also raise money through individual and corporate donations.
The Events & Fundraising Manager's principal role is to manage these events and promote our fundraising in support of free legal advice charities in London and the South East. Your main duties and responsibilities will include the following:
- Organising events
- Establishing and managing partnerships
- Managing staff and volunteers
- Marketing and communications
We are looking for a candidate with demonstratable and relevant experience working at a senior level in mass participation and third-party challenge events. The person will be organised with experience managing projects, budgets, partnerships with funders and key stakeholders, suppliers, volunteers and staff.

We’re a Founder-led charity working to solve learn-to-swim for disabled children - and we aim to do that in the next ten years.
We’ve grown our impact 5x in the past three years and now raise over £1m in unrestricted income annually through our swim events. Our events attract 5,000 swimmers and 3,000 fundraisers, and we own and operate some of the UK’s most iconic outdoor swims - including the Dart10k and Bantham Swoosh - alongside a growing series of 24-hour relays in lakes and lidos.

The role
We’re all driven, and you’ll need to be too - this is a fast-paced, ambitious environment with lots of learning and change.
We’re looking for a strategic, creative Head of Fundraising to lead our next phase of growth.
Your first focus will be stewarding our 3,000 fundraisers - overseeing segmented email journeys, managing a £40k prizing fund, and improving supporter care through deeper, more personal touchpoints. That might mean calls, events, or just finding ways to help people feel more connected to their impact.
Beyond that, you'll help us develop and test new income streams - from matched giving and regular giving, to sponsorships, repeat fundraising, and post-event conversion. You'll also play a key role in evolving our Challenge Events portfolio across in-person, virtual, and blended formats.
This role requires someone with a strong track record in fundraising growth, a test-and-learn mindset, and the ambition to build something big.
Core Responsibilities
- Strategy Development and Implementation
- Develop and execute a fundraising strategy aligned with the charity's objectives.
- Identify and cultivate new fundraising opportunities to diversify income streams.
- Defining our fundraising growth strategies, specifically around our event series.
Community and Events Fundraising
- Oversee the planning and execution of community fundraising initiatives, specifically with our event fundraisers.
- Engage and mobilise volunteers and supporters for fundraising activities.
Fundraiser Care
- Customer Lifetime value / retention / regular giving.
- Build and maintain relationships with donors, ensuring effective stewardship.
- Develop and implement donor retention strategies to increase long-term support and regular giving.
Trusts and Foundations
- Working closely with our Head of Programmes to oversee our bids process, working with specialists and utilising learnings from previous years.
- Deepen strong relationships with grant-making bodies and ensure compliance with grant requirements.
Corporate Partnerships
- Manage and develop corporate partnerships and event sponsorships.
- Develop tailored proposals and pitches to attract corporate support.
Team Leadership
- Lead, inspire, and manage a small fundraising team, fostering a culture of high performance and collaboration.
- Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for team members for both fundraising and marketing.
Monitoring and Reporting
- Track and report on fundraising performance against targets.
- Provide regular updates to the Senior Leadership Team.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience in a senior fundraising role.
- Proven experience working on fundraising events and event fundraising.
- Demonstrable success in developing and implementing successful fundraising strategies.
- Strong track record of securing major gifts, grant funding and/or corporate partnerships.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire a wide range of stakeholders.
- Experience in digital fundraising and leveraging social media platforms.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer, yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease since records began in 2002. Job Purpose:
This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who wants to build a career in the charity sector and make a difference in one of the most innovative and exciting medical research fundraising charities in the UK.
As the Community Fundraising Assistant (East), you will play a crucial role in helping the charity meet its strategic plans and objectives, which include campaigning to increase the national investment in brain tumour research to £35 million per year, while fundraising to create a network of seven sustainable Brain Tumour Research Centres of Excellence across the UK.
Your role will be to support our East region to generate and grow our income through community fundraising activities, contributing to a regional team target of £1.5 million.

Respond to supporter fundraising queries from across the East Region, predominantly via email or phone

The Direct Marketing Manager at CBM UK is a vital role and has responsibility for delivering CBM UKs digital and direct marketing plans to engage and inspire individual supporters and churches to support the work of CBM.
Working closely with the Head of Marketing, as part of the Public Fundraising team, the role holder will be responsible for the management and development of two Marketing Officers. Through digital and direct marketing, the Public Fundraising team are responsible for raising over £3m of unrestricted income from cultivation, acquisition, mid-value donors, regular giving, legacies and churches.
Key responsibilities
Fundraising campaign management (40%)
Manage the effective implementation of the annual public fundraising plan, ensuring that all activity is of a high standard, and delivered on time and to budget:
a. Oversee cultivation fundraising appeals primarily carried out through direct mail and email, leading on the continued development of mass fundraising to engage both existing and potential supporters, including high donors, regular givers and church communities.
b. Manage and develop CBM UKs donor acquisition activity in collaboration with the Marketing Officer (Acquisition), using channels such as social media, magazine inserts, press advertising, email and telephone.
c. Oversee the delivery of CBM UKs legacy and in-memoriam giving plans and campaigns.
d. Identify and consider new income streams and broaden the channels used currently for direct response campaigns to reach an agreed balance of long-term value versus risk.
Digital marketing (40%)
Grow digital engagement and income from new and existing supporters:
a. Lead on Pay Per Click strategy, including agency management and development of internal capabilities.
b. Oversee CBM UK’s paid social media activity.
c. Collaborate with the Communications Team to optimise the performance (traffic and income) of fundraising pages, including appeal and donation pages, churches and community, legacy, and in memoriam giving. Ensuring fundraising pages on the CBM website are engaging to existing and new audiences and where appropriate, utilising Search Engine Optimisation tools where appropriate.
d. Explore and make use of new and existing digital platforms and partners, such as Dataro and SEMrush, while promoting a culture of testing, innovation and learning within the digital space.
Leadership and people management (10%)
a. Support and inspire direct reports in line with CBM UK’s staff management policies and procedures. Ensure team members are appropriately trained, briefed and motivated to achieve their objectives and meet targets and recruit to posts where relevant. Regular 121s and appraisal reviews.
Planning and reporting (10%)
a. Monitor and report on fundraising appeals, identifying opportunities for future testing and optimisation, and contribute to the creation of annual planning, budgeting, and the setting of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
b. Work closely with the Data and Insight team to ensure strong joint working on technical solutions related to campaign analysis, tracking and insights across digital systems, such as the website, donation platform and CRM (Salesforce).
c. Plan, deliver and report on campaigns/projects within an agreed budget.
Other
a. Ensure the consistent use of CBMs brand, key messages and style guide across all fundraising activities.
b. Maintain awareness of and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to direct marketing, including Fundraising Regulator guidance, and Data Protection legal requirements (GDPR and PECR).
c. Collaborate with colleagues across CBM UK and the CBM Global Federation, to support integrated and partnership based working.
d. Help foster a positive and inclusive culture of enthusiasm and success, reflecting the ambitions of CBM, and promoting positive working and innovation.
e. Be willing to work occasionally outside normal office hours and to travel in the UK and internationally if required.
f. Ensuring that the values of CBM UK are understood by external partners and always reflected in communications.
g. Undertake other duties as required by the Head of Marketing and Director of Fundraising, Impact and Communications.

Our Fundraising Marketing team is looking for a proactive, creative and enthusiastic individual to join us as a Fundraising Marketing Executive.
