As the Senior Organiser you will take responsibility for leading on major organising drives/campaigns and to act in a leadership role with respect to the RCN organising programme and the RCN Activism Strategy. You will work with the Head of Organising and other key stakeholders on designing and implementing organising drives/campaigns in both recognised and greenfield workplaces, as well as manage a small team of UK-wide Organisers and work across multidisciplinary teams to deliver Activism Academy objectives.
This role is for the experienced Organiser and/or Campaigner who is familiar with strategically planning and delivering an organising drive. The successful candidate plays a key role in supporting the nursing profession to realise their power through a organisational wide upskilling of organising theory and practice. This is rare opportunity to shape an Organising Strategy in the early days of culture shift.
With at least five years of Organising experience, you will have first-hand knowledge of running a campaign from beginning to end. Your experience will demonstrate your ability to write a campaign plan, build a team, communicate clearly and deliver against objectives. Management experience is ideal but if your skillset and organising experience demonstrates your ability to manage a small team, then this role may be your next step forward.
In this role you will be designing and managing organising drives/campaigns under the direction of the Head of Organising. This means working with key RCN stakeholders to coordinate all aspects of the assigned organising drives/campaign including strategy, timeline, communication and other aspects needing to be considered.
We’re looking for someone who will lead by example and be out in workplaces, with a small team of organisers, working directly with members. Whether you’re a trade union organiser or community organiser, we’re looking for someone who understands strategy, who will work hard to raise the voice of nursing and who can support an internal cultural shift into the Organising Approach.
If you are unfamiliar with the “organising approach or organising model” this role is likely not to be a good fit.

Context and purpose of role
At the heart of the Ramblers lies our community of over 100,000 members and supporters, enabling us to fulfil our charitable mission across the length and breadth of Great Britain.
This role is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of excellent supporter service, coaching and empowering the Member and Supporter Experience Officers to meet the needs of our supporters. You will play a key role in fostering a positive experience for supporters, managing relationships with third-party suppliers, and driving continuous improvements across processes and systems. As a key point of contact for internal teams, you will traffic-control workloads, ensure smooth project delivery, and act as a champion for supporters across the organisation.
We are looking for someone with experience in working in high in-bound volume (calls/emails) supporter or customer service environments. The candidate must have experience in handling multiple enquiries across different channels and ideally in coaching, mentoring or supervising others.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership and Coaching
- Manage the Member and Supporter Experience Officers, providing the skills and knowledge to deliver excellent supporter service through tailored training and coaching.
- Lead regular check-ins and team huddles to review progress, share updates, and address any challenges or blockers.
- Support the monitoring of quality and productivity using satisfaction ratings, and performance measures. Take remedying actions, such as further training or support.
- Co-ordinate key business project delivery within the team, liaising with other teams, coaching the team, and supporting delivery.
Supplier and Project Management
- Manage relationships with key suppliers, including our payment processor, and fulfilment centre. Be responsible for briefing them on new projects and setting up procedures.
- Monitor supplier SLAs and performance measures, ensuring consistently high standards. Manage projects with third-party suppliers to time and budget.
- Proactively identify new solutions or efficiencies to improve working practices.
Operational Oversight
- Act as the first point of contact for incoming requests from other teams and campaign briefings, managing the team’s workload and rota.
- Oversee the scheduling and management of team rotas, ensuring adequate coverage for incoming enquiries, including peak periods and project delivery deadlines.
- Lead the induction and onboarding of new team members, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and tools to excel in their roles.
- Provide KPIs on request from the Head of Member and Supporter Experience. Deliver KPI, SLA and insight reporting that drives better decision-making.
High standard supporter care
- Support the team daily in answering incoming enquiries as part of the role.
- Develop and maintain a framework for monitoring the quality of supporter interactions across all touch points and teams through call monitoring, complaints and compliments reporting, surveys, mystery shopping, satisfaction feedback and other performance measures. Where needed, work with relevant managers in other teams to develop solutions.
- Regularly review the quality of interactions handled by team members (e.g., through spot-checking emails, calls, and case resolutions), offering constructive feedback and suggestions for improvement.
Cross-Team Collaboration and Advocacy
- Work closely with teams across the organisation to build and maintain knowledge bases that can be used by all teams to respond to queries and concerns, and to support teams in ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Act as an ambassador for members and supporters across the organisation, sharing insights with colleagues.
- Maintain strong relationships across the Ramblers, including Ramblers Cymru and Scotland, ensuring the team delivers a high standard of service aligned with organisational priorities.
- Attend project planning meetings to ensure high-quality supporter care and brief the team on new projects.
- Play an active role in key business projects championing the supporter voice.
Continuous Improvement
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to improving processes, reducing response times and enhancing supporter satisfaction.
- Recommend process improvements for key systems, such as the inbound enquiry system and CRM, in consultation with stakeholders.
Volunteer and Digital Engagement
- Manage office volunteers, ensuring they feel valued and supported to carry out their tasks effectively.
- Input into the development of new digital products (e.g., website and mobile) to enhance membership value and support volunteer-led recruitment and retention efforts.
Other
- Undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required of the post.

OPERATIONS AND FINANCE OFFICER, POLITICAL STUDIES ASSOCIATION (PSA)

Prostate Cancer Research exists to honour the men and families who have been through things no family should have to go through, and to work for a future where no one needs to fear a prostate cancer diagnosis.
We are always working to provide resources to help, support and empower patients. Giving them the information they need to make better choices about their treatment, while working to identify and target specific unmet needs in the prostate cancer ecosystem, such as racial inequality and bone metastasis.
Our dedicated staff team is the key to our success, expanding the amount of research that we fund five times over in four years. PCR has been shortlisted for an Impact Prize and won the Change Project of the year award in 2023
It’s been a successful few years for PCR’s Events team with good results across the portfolio, raising over £1.4m (against a target of £800k) in 2023-24 and more than £2.3m in 2024-25 (against a target of £1.7m). The team structure has recently been refreshed, bringing in new roles to ease capacity and ensure the whole team can do their best work – contributing to PCR’s lifesaving mission, developing in their careers and enjoying their jobs within our ambitious and supportive team.
This role is a new position within the structure, created to focus on our growing third-party events portfolio, an area which is performing well across the sector and deserves more attention. It is an important role which will oversee the innovation, planning and delivery of all third-party events, whilst taking a leading role on wider infrastructure development for the team.
You will work with colleagues across the organisation to seize opportunities, whilst ensuring best practice in our fundraising activity and the delivery of brilliant stewardship during supporters’ participation in third-party events & beyond.
The position reports to the Head of Events & Community and will supervise the work of two Events & Community Executives on relevant projects. Collaboration will be important, including with the other Events team managers who each lead the innovation, planning & delivery of (a) virtual challenge events, and (b) PCR-owned bespoke events.
We are keen to work together to develop & shape this into an exciting and meaningful role for you. At PCR, we prioritise our team members’ development, and there will be a % of time available to work on other areas of the portfolio for development and interest. However, your main focus will be:
Strategy, project management and income growth

Create and lead the strategy to maximise the value of PCR’s third-party challenge events portfolio, working with the Head of E&C and others to take a long-term view and build this area into a sustainable & growing income stream.

Oversee the project management of all third-party events, including the London & Brighton Marathons (and other new events as they are introduced), working with the E&C Executives to ensure targets are met and best practice delivered.

Design and deliver ambitious fundraising budgets for your projects which contribute net income towards PCR’s mission.

Build good relationships with suppliers, venues, agencies and consultants to ensure great value.

Oversee the stewardship of fundraisers, ensuring journeys are relevant & engaging and continuously improved.

Work with the other Events team managers to contribute to the planning & delivery of other activity areas.
Product development and innovation

Seize the opportunity to grow & improve PCR’s third-party event portfolio, staying up to date with sector trends, identifying new journeys, suppliers & products, and taking a test & learn approach, always ensuring that learnings are captured. For this, there will be realistic budgets & an understanding of the investment needed for new ideas.

Develop approaches to engage supporters beyond their initial participation, working with Public Fundraising colleagues & others to test cross-selling journeys and maximise the life-time value of third-party event fundraisers.

Maintain a strong level of understanding of PCR’s existing (and target) supporters to create and implement products & stewardship that motivate and inspire them.

Alongside the Head of E&C and other Events team managers, embed a culture of innovation and supporter insight.

Proactively collaborate internally, working with other teams to identify opportunities which meet PCR’s objectives, including with the Partnerships team to ensure the development & delivery of an employee fundraising programme.

Take the lead in developing processes and infrastructure across the Events team that improve efficiency, compliance and best practice, working with other team members to prioritise and deliver this work.
Team leadership

Alongside the other Events team managers, supervise the relevant day-to-day work of the Events & Community Executives to ensure that the projects you are working on together are carried out effectively.

Work closely with the Head of E&C and the other Events team managers on team strategy and capacity planning.

Work with the team to embed our agile ways of working, modelling the principle of collective responsibility.

Attend and contribute to meetings, sharing new ideas and learnings that might be useful for the wider team.

The Events & Community Manager may also get involved with other projects and tasks as appropriate to support Public Fundraising activities. Attendance may be required at some weekend and evening events, for which TOIL will be given.

Youth Engagement Officer
Location: Hybrid. Expected to be in our London office in Victoria at least one day per week. You can be remote every other day or come into the office. Your office days are flexible and can be agreed with your manager, other than for monthly team days where you must be in person. Some nationwide travel expected for Youth Steering Group training days, events and conferences. After passing probation, up to six weeks ‘super remote’ working per year, where you can work anywhere in the world as long as you’re online for four hours of the UK workday.

This role will play a critical part in the success of taking this work forward. As the Youth Engagement Officer, you will work with our Head of Youth Engagement to ensure our Youth Steering Group can lead their own campaign activities, engage directly with decision makers, and collaborate with other young people to bring about the change they want to see. You will also support and manage the logistics of our Youth Summit, Youth Engagement Working Group and other youth engagement events.

Our Youth Steering Group is made up of 25 brilliant young people, aged 14-24, who draw on their lived experience of the different barriers to accessing a fair education, to campaign for change. You will also help the group to participate in FEA decision making, support the design and facilitation of their monthly meetings and training days, help them make progress against their personal development plans. This role will include working directly with young people, session planning and facilitation, policy research and managing logistics.
Ensure the Fair Education Youth Summit is a success and remains truly youth-led
Our Youth Steering Group design and run the annual Fair Education Youth Summit. The event is led by young people for young people and brings together young changemakers from across our membership and the wider education and youth sectors to develop their youth leadership skills, collaborate on campaigns, and engage directly with decision makers. You will support the young people to design sessions, secure speakers, embed past feedback and plan the event structure. You will also support with the event logistics, guestlist management, participant communications and collecting attendee feedback.
Support our members to improve their youth engagement practice
Our Youth Engagement Working Group supports FEA members and other sector organsiations to increase and improve their own youth engagement practice. You will support the management of logistics, promote the workshops, and communicate with working group members. You will also support the facilitation of the workshops and ensure the attendee data and feedback is correctly logged and actioned. The critical responsibilities of this role are described above. Role Summary
Development Group generates philanthropic and sponsorship income to help us create a Natural History Museum for the future – investing in capital development, attaining vital acquisitions for the collection, transforming our galleries, developing innovative exhibitions and undertaking ground-breaking scientific research on issues that affect us all.
Reporting into the Head of Resources & Planning, this role provides the opportunity to join a Development operations team in driving forward the exciting, ambitious and transformational NHM150 campaign. You will have the opportunity to be innovative and proactive, as well as utilise your creativity, project management and organisational skills to oversee donor recognition and ensure we are providing a consistent and best in sector experience for our donors and partners.
Main tasks and responsibilities
Stewardship and supporter journey
- Working closely with the Head of Philanthropy and Head of Corporate Partnerships, lead the development of a structured, overarching stewardship programme that works across the Museum. Take a supporter journey approach and ensure the programme includes a creative and innovative range of benefits and recognition to foster well-managed, mutually beneficial and lasting relationships with funders.
- Coordinate stewardship efforts and work with colleagues to produce tailored stewardship plans.
- Provide strategic and day-to-day advice and guidance to staff on stewardship.
Funder recognition
- Work with the Philanthropy and Corporate Partnerships departments to ensure a cohesive approach to the funder benefits matrix and recognition and acknowledgement.
- Advise and lead on funder inclusion with event and event material including, speeches, invites and associated thanking moments
- Lead on the creation and implementation of a funder recognition strategy for each major project and giving mechanism, ensuring consistency with the Museum’sdeli Naming and Recognition Policy and including, but not limited to, funder boards and naming opportunities.
- Lead for Development on work with the Design, Comms, Marketing and Digital team to develop agreed frameworks and ‘lock-ups’ for the NHM’s brand and visual identity. Create agreed procedures to ensure sign-off by all parties which is effective and well-communicated.
Communications and reporting
- Support colleagues in researching, writing and producing high-quality impact reports for funders in line with Deeds of Gift, contracts and other agreements.
- Support the creation of the Museum’s Annual Review, Annual Report and similar impact reporting; ensuring appropriate funder recognition.
- Manage the annual Season’s Greetings cards creation and distribution
Other responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with a diverse group of Museum stakeholders, to ensure stewardship plans and activities are successfully coordinated and delivered.
- Responsible for oversight of Supporter Cards for key Development supporters, working with the Database team to create and distribute.
- Develop a strong knowledge of sector best practice through networking, benchmarking against comparable institutions, identifying and undertaking training and development opportunities, and where appropriate implement these best practices at the Museum.
- Record essential information accurately and appropriately, using Development Group systems and the Raiser’s Edge database. This includes tracking agreed and live negotiations for funder recognition and commitments on major projects.

As part of this ambitious project, we are creating new roles to support our teams as they contribute to programme activity.
Supporter-Led Fundraising has been identified as a major growth opportunity in our Income Generation strategy, and we have ambitious plans for it going forward. This contract role will independently manage the planning, development, and delivery of Battersea’s Supporter-Led Fundraising programme, as well as provide support to the wider Events and Supporter-Led Fundraising team on other projects.
We are seeking someone with experience in Supporter Led Fundraising programme development, who can hit the ground running to lead on the delivery of our ambitious plans.

About the role
You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations of the SU. Working as part of a busy team at the heart of the SU, you will be accountable for making sure that the staff and students have the financial advice and support they need to deliver our charitable purpose.
Your relationship with student treasurers and budget holders will be key, and you will ensure they have up to date and reliable management information, as well as ensuring that finance policies and processes are followed throughout the organisation.
You will act as finance lead on events and a range of projects, as well as providing expert knowledge of fundraising and grants support. You will also support the Head of Finance in delivering the strategic aims of the organisation, whilst stepping in to support the day-to-day delivery of your team.

About you
We are looking for an experienced accountant with fantastic interpersonal skills. You’ll have a can-do attitude and ability to thrive in a fast paced and ever-changing environment. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail are vital. Within this role you’ll be student-led and empathetic with the cause, mission and values of The SU.
Our ideal candidate will be:
- Part qualified (ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA) or Level 4 AAT with experience
- Able to work under own initiative to deliver objectives to agreed targets and a high standard
- Able to lead and motivate individuals and a team through change
- Experienced and knowledgeable in accounts preparation, purchase/sales ledger management, stock and fixed asset reporting, and financial accounting using complex financial systems
- Aware of and experienced in good finance practice, accounting standards and guidelines related to charitable fundraising
