Job description

ASIRT are seeking to appoint a dynamic part-time Director with the ability to develop and deliver high quality services for vulnerable clients. This is a new, exciting, creative and challenging role for someone with a strong commitment to excellence, justice, and a firm belief in the rights of migrants and refugees.

We are a small, experienced team working in a challenging environment. We provide prompt, independent legal and advocacy support throughout the West Midlands for vulnerable and undocumented migrants and refugees. We submit representations to the Home Office, provide advice and advocacy support, influence policy, and run a specialist support service for children and young people.

You will have a proven track record of leading, managing and improving services and people, and experience of financial planning and administration. You will be a strong and creative strategic thinker, used to working on your own initiative and in partnership, motivating those around you to achieve their best. You will have excellent project management skills, a keen eye for detail and solid experience of managing charitable services and safeguarding children and adults.

Funding for this post is initially 1 year. However, subject to successful delivery of the existing funding agreement, ASIRT is eligible to apply for a further 3 years’ funding from Lloyds Bank Foundation for England and Wales.

ASIRT’s board of Trustees would support a Director with commitment and a proven track record at ASIRT to seek funding to extend both the length and hours of the role, including through job share if desired, if there is evidence that this meets the needs of the organisation.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and all convictions, spent or unspent, must be declared. An Enhanced DBS check will be undertaken.

Supported by the Lloyds Bank Foundation for England and Wales.

CVs will not be accepted. Due to current Covid-19 challenges applications by email only, but do contact us if this is significant problem for you. Interviews will be conducted remotely.
