We currently have an opportunity for a Nature Recovery Manager within our national Environment & Climate Action Team within the Strategy and Impact Directorate. The S&I directorate analyses current and emerging policy and sets the Trust’s strategy and standards for regional delivery across all the Trust’s activities. The Environment and Climate action team is responsible for delivering the Trust’s strategy and policy on all environment and climate related sustainability issues, including environmental compliance as a minimum, improvement of our protected sites and achieving a net gain in biodiversity across our canal network.
Reporting to the Head of Environment and Climate action, the Nature Recovery Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring the Trusts position and progress on nature recovery. The role includes delivering a long-term action plan to move more of our protected sites to favourable condition and collaborating with other teams across the Trust to develop, fund and deliver projects that increase biodiversity and the abundance of protected species across the network.
Knowledge, Skills/Qualifications & Experience
Key Accountabilities:
- Develop, implement and maintain the Trust’s nature recovery strategy
- Develop and own a national action plan to improve the condition of the Trust’s protected sites to meet the requirements set out in the Environmental Improvement Plan 2023.
- Develop, deliver, and report on a programme of projects and activities enabling the Trust to demonstrate its biodiversity commitments as a 28G authority and that it is delivering an overall net gain in biodiversity across the network. This includes working closely with teams delivering mandatory Biodiversity Net Gain.
- Collaborate with the Fundraising, Marketing, Campaigns and Enterprise functions to deliver high quality, fundable nature recovery projects.
- Ownership of Trust standards relating to protected sites and biodiversity; working with internal technical experts and the Trust’s legal team to ensure that all Trust standards relating to protected sites and biodiversity meet regulatory requirements.
- Working with the Trust’s operational and delivery teams to ensure that standards are delivered and align with business processes through a process of assurance checking.
- Manage external technical input where requires (e.g. from consultants)
- Assist in the investigation of environmental incidents, near misses and ensure the production and dissemination of key learnings
- Producing progress reports (quarterly/ annually/ as necessary) for Defra and the wider public as well as input into our annual accounts and ESG reports
- Producing case studies and other examples of best practice for internal and external audiences
- Developing and delivering biodiversity and nature recovery training
- Displaying the Trust values and behaviours at all times.
- Ensuring that diversity and inclusion are integrated into all aspects of Trust life and promoting inclusion by challenging behaviour, practices, actions, or decisions that are counter to the objectives of the Trust’s policies and values.
Knowledge, Experience & Skills:
- Full Member CIEEM (MCIEEM) qualification or equivalent
- Broad understanding of key policy drivers for improving biodiversity in UK organisations, e.g Environmental Improvement Plan 2023, TNFD etc.
- Demonstrable experience of developing and implementing opportunities to improve nature within an organisation with multiple objectives and environmental aspects.
- Practical understanding of the UK regulatory frameworks for biodiversity, habitats, and protected species
- Working knowledge of the key metrics tools for Biodiversity Net Gain (Defra Metric 4.0, UK Habitats and MoRPH) and how these can be used to demonstrate improvements in biodiversity.
- Experience with working with protected sites and the new Natural England framework for categorising and managing pressures, mechanism and actions
- Experience with working with climate change datasets (e.g. UKCP18) to develop adaptation plans for biodiversity under future climate scenarios/
- Authoring company standards and guidance within an Environmental Management System
- Project/ programme management skills
- Developing business cases
Location:
The role will be home-based with an expectation to attend main regional hubs either at Milton Keynes, Birmingham or Little Venice (Paddington) for collaborative working. This is a national role, requiring collaboration with teams in all six of the Trust’s regions. There will be an expectation that the successful candidate will be able travel to attend meetings or fieldwork throughout the regional waterway network.

About the role:
The Procurement and Logistics Advisor provides strategic and operational logistics support to multiple country programmes across allocated portfolios, while acting as enabler for MAG’s Procurement and Logistics function transformation initiative.

*We are currently recruiting for a Global Procurement and Logistics Advisor. This is a permanent position which has been classified as ‘roving’. This means that you will be expected to be visiting MAG’s programmes for 60% of your working time or more. When not travelling or in a MAG programme, you will be based at home.

Every day millions of older and disabled people are denied the social care they need. Most local authorities can’t meet the growing demand for care, and none are confident they can meet their legal duties in the future. This affects all of us - we will all need social care at some point in our lives.
We all have a right to hold public bodies to account, but most of us cannot afford lawyers so rely on legal aid. The 92% drop in legal aid cases since 2010 means that we have nowhere to turn. Without access to justice, our rights do not exist. The rule of law is broken.
What we do
Access Social Care provides free legal advice and information for people with social care needs, helping achieve a better quality of life. We work with communities to increase knowledge of the law and our rights. We highlight the gap left by cuts to Legal Aid and provide advice for those who can’t afford it.
With a 98% success rate, our network of lawyers provide access to justice when things go wrong. We collaborate with social services whilst ensuring legal obligations are met. We are working towards a future where social care is adequately funded and we all get the support we need.
We provide rights awareness training to front line managers, and legal advice and support to families and individuals. As well as providing access to justice, our aim is to drive system level change through evidence-led influencing and strategic casework. We operate our casework service mainly under a membership model where organisations involved in the social care sector contract with Access Social Care to provide legal assistance to their clients.

We have more than doubled in size and income since we started operating in April 2020 and we anticipate that this strong growth will continue for the duration of our next strategic period. About the role
As we move into 2024, Access Social Care is launching a new workstream aimed at training more experts in community care law. To achieve our aims, we will be developing learning and development programmes for internal and external use. We are looking for an experienced learning and development professional to lead this programme of work.
We want you to:
- Oversee the development and delivery online and in person training on the Care Act 2014 and associated legislation, regulations, guidance and caselaw. We already have some training materials in-house, but you will need to expand and develop these for different audiences (carers, social care providers, advocates, advisers and caseworkers).
- Work with external stakeholders at academic institutions to develop degree/diploma level learning modules.
- Work closely with others at ASC and play a key role in developing the skills and knowledge of our trainee caseworkers and other new staff.
- Work alongside the Head of Business Development to develop a learning and development income stream.
Responsibilities
1. Project management of the Access Social Care learning and development offer: Working with internal and external stakeholders and using project management tools and software you will drive the project forwards ensuring milestones and deadlines are met, delivering reports
2. Content and resources development: Work closely with our Head of Digital Content, Product Manager and legal team members to develop training materials for use online and in person on the Care Act which enable people with different starting points to understand the rights of social care users, to enforce those rights, and to understand the responsibilities of social care providers and local authorities.
3. External training strategy development. Work with the Head of Business development to develop an income stream from learning and development.
4. Training delivery: Deliver training internally and externally, online and in person, using a variety of training techniques, and tailored materials to engage different audiences with different immediate purposes.
5. Intelligence gathering: Contribute to our understanding of systemic problems in the social care and community care law systems, feeding back to legal colleagues' issues that are brought up in training session.
6. General tasks: Undertake such other tasks as may reasonably be required or asked of you in order to respond to organisational needs and specifically needs within the legal team.

Role purpose:
The Partnerships & Income Operations Manager plays a multifaceted role encompassing driving pipeline prospecting efforts, managing certain impact reporting initiatives, and nurturing corporate partnerships. This pivotal role serves as a primary point of contact for coordinating various aspects of partnership development, impact reporting, and fundraising activities.
Main responsibilities and accountabilities:
Corporate Partnerships:
· Lead a portfolio of lower to mid-value corporate donors, cultivating relationships and maximising engagement aligned with organisational objectives.
· Balance support between existing partnership management and developing new business opportunities, including mid to higher value partnerships.
Pipeline Prospecting:
· Lead the identification and cultivation of prospective corporate donors, both new and potential.
· Utilise relationship management expertise and networking acumen to proactively identify opportunities for engagement in alignment with our balanced scorecard objectives.
· Act as a primary point of contact for inbound and outbound leads, collaborating with the Communications Team on outreach campaigns to drive lead generation and partnership engagement.
· Ensure a seamless experience for prospects entering the organisation, guiding them through the employer customer journey.
· Support the engagement of targeted employers in key sectors and regions, collaborating with income generation colleagues to develop mid to higher value prospects.
· Support the development of bids and pitches, connecting colleagues into their contributions across those efforts.
Engagement Tracking:
· Develop and maintain an Excel document to meticulously track engagement levels and interaction points with stakeholders.
· Coordinate the launch and delivery of quarterly board breakfasts, led by our board members; Manage logistics and invitations for board breakfasts to ensure successful networking opportunities.
· Facilitate a minimum of 10 executive meetings from our existing corporate partner portfolio per quarter with our CEO
· Coordinate the launch and delivery of quarterly sector-specific breakfasts to engage key individuals from existing partners; Coordinate with hosting partners and relevant attendees to ensure successful networking events.
Impact Reporting:
· Coordinate, own, and update the employer impact reporting calendar for Partnerships and Income, ensuring proactive management of reporting deadlines and deliverables.
· Serve as the templated annual review impact report document owner, ensuring colleagues are familiar with its usage and providing necessary guidance.
· Maintain and update the fundraising FAQs document, acting as the point of contact for the team regarding any new questions and ensuring incorporation of new queries into the document.
Additional Duties:
· Collaborate with colleagues to gather necessary information for impact reporting and fundraising FAQs, coordinating with experts as needed.
· Assist in the development and updating of key information packs and documents related to impact reporting and fundraising.

As the Finance Business Partner for Fundraising and CAA you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient utilisation of financial resources to maximise fundraising returns and ensure efficient spend which is aligned to strategic objectives. NB. This is a full time 12-month FTC position.
There is flexibility around where the role is based. We have large offices in London and Peterborough and smaller offices located throughout the UK and you may need occasional travel to for meetings. However, this role will primarily be working remotely.
Key Responsibilities:
· Prepare timely, accurate, and insightful management reporting for the directorates, facilitating informed decision-making and effective financial management.

The S&I directorate analyses current and emerging policy and sets the Trust’s strategy and standards for regional delivery across all the Trust’s activities. The Environment and Climate action team is responsible for delivering the Trust’s strategy and policy on all environment and climate related sustainability issues, including environmental compliance as a minimum and achieving biodiversity net gain.
Reporting to the Head of Environment and Climate action, the Environmental Management and Compliance manager role will be responsible for the Trust’s Environmental Management System and its associated policies, commitments, and standards, linked to the Trusts evolving sustainability and organisational strategies. The role will require establishing good relationships with other teams in the Trust to drive sound environmental practice from our operations and 3rd party activities.
Knowledge, Skills/Qualifications & Experience
Key Accountabilities:
- Responsible for, and day-to-day management of the Trust’s environmental management system
- Deliver a programme of activities and updates to environmental standards, guidance and tools, ensuring that these are delivered on time and within budget. This forms part of a system refresh that will be delivered this financial year.
- Work with internal technical experts and the Trust’s legal team to ensure that the standards meet regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with Trust operational and delivery teams to ensure that standards are deliverable and align with existing and emerging business processes.

Carers Manchester is a partnership of Statutory and Voluntary Sector organisations who work together the plan, enhance and deliver advice and support services for unwaged carers in the city. ROLE PURPOSE
As our Executive Assistant (Maternity Cover, 0.8 FTE, Fixed term for 12 months), you will play a crucial role in developing and supporting our charity and strengthening our administration and governance. You will be providing flexible assistance primarily to our CEO, in the planning and delivery of their workload. You will also provide administrative support to the Senior Leadership Team, Trustee Board and other structured groups which shape the charity’s strategy and activities, for example our Clinical Advisory Group. As such, you will have the opportunity to work with the entire Student Minds team and a variety of stakeholders across the health and higher education sectors.
Key responsibilities:
Chief Executive Officer assistance
- Email and calendar management: helping to prioritise demands, responding to correspondence on behalf of the CEO and following up with contacts post-meetings.
- Arrange meetings and itineraries and coordinate travel as required.
- Stakeholder management support: utilising CRM to maintain updated databases for organisational contacts; support with the completion of contracts and registering purchase orders with suppliers,where the CEO is the lead contact.
Meeting management
- Plan and coordinate relevant meetings to ensure they are purposeful and relevant. These will include Board meetings, Senior Leadership Team Meetings, Leadership Group meetings and any other general committee meetings.
- Provide logistical and administrative support for all meetings, arranging suitable meeting premises or software, preparing and circulating agendas and meeting papers in consultation with the relevant participants (e.g. Chair of the Board, CEO and Senior Leadership Team).
- Coordinate catering requirements and liaise with the finance team to make purchases.
- Take high-quality and accurate meeting minutes and circulate them for appropriate approval and sign-off.
- Ensure prompt follow-up with agreed action points and follow through with ongoing delivery of commitments.
Governance support
- Provide administrative support where applicable to meet the charity’s requirements with
- Companies House and the Charity Commission.
- Support with Trustee recruitment, induction and training.
- Support the charity’s continuous improvement and compliance using tools such as the Governance
- Code.
Senior Leadership Team coordination
- Support with coordinating multi-stakeholder meetings, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support members of the Senior Leadership Team or their guests with the use of our core systems and software (Google Workspace, Google Meet, Slack, Mural, Zoom).
- Process any travel expenses for the Senior Leadership Team.
- Manage charity records: provide historical reference by supporting procedures for the retention and disposal of records.
