Battersea is entering an exciting phase of innovation and transformation as we embark on the first year of our new five-year strategy. With increased investment in income generation starting in 2025, we are expanding our team to drive the growth necessary to achieve our organisational goals. Our fundraising team bridges the journey of the animals in our care with the wider public, demonstrating how their contributions enable us to support every dog and cat. We now have several new roles within this team to further our mission.
This is a new role working within Battersea’s Income Generation department to develop and deliver the campaign plan for a £4-6million pound capital fundraising appeal.
One of the key pillars of Battersea’s current strategy is to ensure that we continue to provide expert care for all the dogs and cats that come through our gates. One of the ways in which we do this is by investing in our facilities to ensure that they continue to meet the changing needs of the animals we care for. This fundraising campaign will help to achieve that aim.
You will work with teams across Battersea to develop a comprehensive plan for the campaign and co-ordinate the work of multiple specialist teams to deliver the campaign on a day-to-day basis. You will also be responsible for developing a clear governance structure for the campaign, and ensuring all stakeholders are kept informed of progress. You will also oversee and track progress of a series of internal process improvements that support the running of the campaign.
Please note, this is not a direct fundraising position, but will support our fundraising teams in delivering ambitious financial targets for the appeal.

About the role
The Fundraising Lead (Corporate & Grants) will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of income generation for Planet Patrol, including the planning and delivery of our fundraising strategy; with a focus on corporates and grants. You will secure new partnerships and sponsorships, and develop high-value, multi-year commitments that align with both Planet Patrol’s priorities and our funders objectives. Whilst this role is fixed term, we hope to secure enough funding to make the role permanent.

Key Responsibilities
Fundraising & Relationship Building
- Meet and exceed the annual new funding target of £300k, whilst maintaining existing funding agreements.
- Secure sponsorship for at least three organisational priorities worth a minimum of £50k each.
- Write and submit innovative, engaging and impactful funding applications.
- Prospect new supporters and build long-term, high-value relationships.
- Quickly and efficiently respond to calls for proposals, maximising all opportunities..
- Work with colleagues across Planet Patrol to develop and deliver bespoke opportunities aligned with funder priorities.
- Host cultivation events and support other team members in engaging prospective sponsors.
- Ensure due diligence in line with Planet Patrol’s ethics and due diligence policies.
Strategic
- Lead on the development and delivery of Planet Patrol’s fundraising strategy, setting income targets and KPIs with the Director.
- Work closely with the Head of Programmes and Campaigns to develop exciting, innovative and impactful funding propositions.
- Contribute to the wider Organisational strategy and annual Business Plan.
- Keep abreast of sector developments and funding opportunities to ensure plans are timely and effective.
Account Management
- Maximise our existing portfolio of corporate supporters, ensuring timely delivery of benefits, publicity and events.
- Oversee reporting to funders, sponsors and partners, demonstrating impact and value.
- Manage budgets within the fundraising portfolio and contribute to organisational efficiency and effectiveness.
Marketing & Communications
- Create compelling and innovative partnership opportunities for corporate supporters.
- Collaborate with colleagues to deliver sponsorship benefits and ensure accurate representation of sponsors across Planet Patrol platforms.
- Coordinate sponsor advertising and communications, with support from colleagues.
- Positively represent Planet Patrol at events and conferences.

Jangala is seeking an organised, enthusiastic Programme Associate to support the delivery of our connectivity programmes across the UK and internationally. Details of the role
You will play a key role in supporting the management and scaling of Jangala’s programmes in the UK and internationally. Reporting to the Head of Programmes, you will be part of Jangala’s programmes department, which leads the delivery of our donor-funded work, deploying Jangala’s award-winning technology and developing and nurturing partnerships with grassroots organisations, charities, local authorities, and international agencies.
Supporting Jangala’s community of existing partners who are using Big Box and Get Box technology to connect communities will also be an important part of what you do. The role will also involve building new partnerships, research, coordination and working with data-driven systems, ensuring that our connectivity solutions reach the people and communities who need them most.

The role is to support the Head of Fundraising Volunteering and Communications to achieve the overarching fundraising strategy, maximising opportunities for income generation as well as strategic aims for SIFA Fireside.
As part of a small team, the post holder will be responsible for managing all supporter and donation information on the fundraising database, regularly importing payment data from a range of sources and leading on the monthly reconciliation process. The post holder will also provide data selections and reports for SIFA Fireside’s supporter mailings and campaigns. When required, they will co-ordinate and support campaigns
Key tasks:
1. Planning and delivering fundraising projects and campaigns, awareness events and legacy campaigns.
2. Building and maintaining excellent relationships with donors including regular Open Weeks.
3. Working with the Communications Assistant to produce assets and distribute social media content related to fundraising.
4. Supporting with managing fundraising volunteers to include Corporate Volunteer Teams and conversion to individual givers.
5. Maintaining fundraising webpages and maintaining external donation platform accounts.
6. Managing and updating fundraising resources and literature including digital, print, t-shirts, and collection tins.
7. Overseeing the recording of all payment and donor data in our CRM database Beacon, including importing donations from a range of platforms.
8. Overseeing the processing of Gift in Kind donations, running associated campaigns and scheduling callouts for needed items.
9. Managing the storing of Gift Aid declarations, talking to donors knowledgeably about tax effective giving and submitting monthly Gift Aid submissions to HMRC via Beacon.
10. Producing and monitoring fundraising KPIs.
11. Acknowledging all donations, new and cancelled regular donors and external fundraisers and providing stewardship with external fundraising events and collections.
12. Monitoring the fundraising inbox and distributing supporter communications via email and MailChimp, while managing supporter contact consent and updating SIFA Fireside’s mailing list.
13. Ensuring work is carried out in accordance with the fundraising regulator and GDPR and always working within charity legislation and best practice.
14. Providing support to the Head of Fundraising and Communications with ad hoc requests for data on finances, donors, and charity services.
15. Undertaking any other reasonable duties that may be required to support the admin team.

This role may also be infrequently required to deploy as part of a ShelterBox project delivery team, working alongside our programme partners. These deployments are unlikely to exceed 2 weeks in duration.

Main role and responsibilities
As Training Manager, you will be responsible for the development, planning and delivery of ShelterBox's core training calendar. This encompasses our range of mandatory and compliance training courses, alongside our residential training programmes and any other programmes as decided in collaboration with the Head of Learning and Development. Through careful planning, budgeting and engagement with key stakeholders across the organisation, you will ensure the core calendar and associated training content is relevant to the evolving business needs and is able to be accessed by all who require it. You will ensure the stewardship and maintenance of our training resources, and relationship management of key contacts at our training venues and volunteers to enable long-term, sustainable delivery of our programmes. In addition, you will support the delivery of other L&D solutions as required by other organisational requirements.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
- Annual planning of our core training calendar in-line with the business planning and budgeting cycle
- Development and management of the budget to enable the delivery of the core training calendar in-line with the budgeting cycle and promoting the best value-for money
- Planning and delivery of the Travel Security Training programme in-line with the requirements of the Deployable Personnel Minimum Training Standards Policy
- Planning and delivery of the We Are ShelterBox programme in-line with the induction pathway and business need
- Working with the People Assistant, ensure the management of all course and participant logistics including travel, accommodation and expenses.
- Scheduling and delivery of all compliance and mandatory training programmes including, but not limited to: GDPR; Cyber Security; Anti-Money Laundering; Anti Bribery; Payment Card Industry; First Aid; Trauma Risk Management; Fire Marshall, Etc.
- Maintenance and resupply of all training resources required to deliver our core calendar programmes, including inventory management of our 40ft shipping container.
- Business partnering with key risk owners such as Head of Legal and Risk, IT Service and Security Manager, Facilities Manager, and Head of Security to ensure our compliance needs are being met with the course content we have available, amending as necessary.
- Track and report on the compliance of our people against our mandatory and compliance programmes, feeding into the People and Risk Committee papers.
- Manage all risk assessment and mitigations processes for our training programmes, ensuring they are up to date, relevant to the risks faced on our programmes and our compliance with them.
- Support the management of the Qualsafe-registered "ShelterBox Training Centre" that enables the delivery of in-house first aid qualifications.
- Deliver Qualsafe-regulated, in-house first aid training as well as developing and delivering austere first aid training packages relevant to our work in high-risk environments.
- Develop and manage relationships with external service providers and volunteers to enable the sustainable delivery of our residential training programmes.
- Work with the learning management system to ensure all learning initiatives are tracked and monitored for completion.
- Support the delivery of capacity sharing initiatives with our programme partners in high-risk locations as required by the Programme Delivery team.
- Support the delivery of corporate and donor engagement events as required by the Philanthropy and Partnerships team

The Role
The HR Manager will operate across the full range of HR generalist functions spanning the staff hire to retire cycle, supporting members of the team who lead specialisms within this (such as recruitment, onboarding, reward and learning and development) to ensure seamless service design and delivery. The Key Responsibilities

Respite and Care Executives play a significant role in enabling our beneficiaries to continue to be independent for as long as possible and when/if they require formal care, they can support them during this time too. They work closely with the Advocacy Team and the Friendships and Connections team to ensure that all their needs are met.

They will work alongside the current post holder and the other team members for 2 months to learn the role and take over existing cases. The Grants Operations Manager plays a central role in ensuring the Maitri Trust's grantmaking processes are efficient, compliant, and supportive of both our team and our partners. You will coordinate operational workflows across the grants pipeline, manage high-volume application cycles, and ensure seamless communication between applicants, reviewers, and internal teams. You will also ensure efficiencies within our current active grant portfolio, ensuring that reporting and systems are set up to be as effective as possible. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Grant Operations Management
- Review and improve operational processes for managing the current active grant portfolio to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
- Coordinate the implementation and smooth running of workflows across the full grant management lifecycle, including open and closed calls.
- Manage and coordinate high-volume application cycles to ensure smooth and timely processing.

- Co-lead the operational design and delivery of open calls with the Head of Programmes.

- Draft, customise, and send outcome notifications and feedback to applicants.
- Manage escalated correspondence and queries from applicants and partners as needed.
- Coordinate the timely assignment and review of applications throughout the funding pipeline, ensuring shortlisted applications progress smoothly through review and approval stage.
- Maintain application processing quality standards and identify process improvement opportunities.
System Management, Grant Administration and Contract Management
- Act as System Administrator for the Fluxx grant system supporting its end-to-end management.
- Coordinate the due diligence relationship with external provider, consolidating internal technical and financial due diligence.
- Oversee protocol on information/records management, ensuring information is appropriately recorded and archived in accordance with data protection requirements.
- Monitor and report on application numbers, quality metrics, and process performance and regularly report on these to the Maitri Trust team and Board of Trustees.
Collaboration and Support
- Work closely with the Head of Programmes and Grants Portfolio Manager to ensure seamless grant management of both new and current grants.
- Deputise for Head of Programmes when required.
- Back stop Grants Portfolio Manager on key partnership management as necessary.
- Undertake occasional travel to support partners on-the-ground, providing operational assistance as needed.
YOUR SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND PROFILE
Essential
- Minumum 5-7 years of experience in grant operations, grant management, or related roles within international development, philanthropy, or a funding organisation.
- Strong operational and process design skills, with a track record of managing high-volume application cycles, compliance workflows, and grant systems.
- Experience with grant management systems (ideally Fluxx), and confidence in configuring and optimising digital tools for process efficiency.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and maintain high attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience drafting guidance, documentation, and reporting for diverse audiences.
- Familiarity with open call funding processes, including application review, due diligence, and contracting stages.
- Comfortable working across teams and functions, especially in roles that bridge programmes, finance, and external financial compliance.

About the opportunity
This role plays a key part in supporting the wider Action Tutoring team with HR and Safeguarding matters and sits within the Finance, HR and Operations Department, reporting to the Head of People and Culture.

Place of work: This role is within the Action Tutoring Operations team. We operate a hybrid working model where staff based in London will be required to work from our London office for a mandatory minimum of one day per week. We are open to considering candidates who wish to work remotely from elsewhere in England. Our London office is located at: 8-10, Fivefields, Grosvenor Gardens, London SW1W 0DH.
Contract and hours: Fixed term contract until 21st August 2026. Full time. We offer flexible hours with 9.30-4 as core hours. A full working week is 37.5 hours.
Duties and responsibilities
Safer recruitment for staff and volunteer tutors
- Responsible for ensuring staff and volunteer tutor safer recruitment records and related checks are up date and complete.
- Collecting references and ensuring they meet our standard requirements.
- Conducting ID calls for volunteer tutor DBS checks.
- Processing DBS checks and DBS update service checks.
Safeguarding
- Undertaking an initial triage of safeguarding concerns and incidents raised by members of the team and referring to senior staff as necessary.
- Maintaining and overseeing the tutor safeguarding refresher training using a dashboard
- Compiling safeguarding data into termly reports for the team and board.
HR
- Supporting the Head of People and Culture with recruitment processes. This will include preparing paperwork relating to the selection process and offers of employment and following up with applicants and the hiring manager to ensure both sides have a quality hiring experience.

Person specification
Qualifications criteria:
- Experience in safer recruitment practice and working within relevant procedures and guidelines.
- Experience in HR administration.
- Right to work in the UK.
