New Horizon Youth Centre runs a busy day centre from Monday to Friday, providing basic needs to young people experiencing homelessness and a one-stop-shop for housing advice, youth work activities, counselling, jobs, education and training support. The Services Manager (Day Centre) is a brand new role for the organisation. They will work as part of the existing Youth Work Team to provide vital additional capacity and expertise to respond to the significantly increased demand we have been experiencing. This role is primarily focused on delivering our frontline day centre service each week. You will spend around 2-3 days per week frontline as our Duty Manager ensuring the smooth running of the day centre. You’ll also be responsible for coordinating our weekly rota, line managing the team, overseeing our Locums, Students and Volunteers programme, supporting with donations and day centre stock, and delivering staff training . Experience:

About the role:
The Achieving Potential programme at SHP supports SHP clients with options and opportunities to build their confidence, learn new skills and try new things. We are recruiting to an exciting new post within our team, having recently secured funding to take forward our digital inclusion offer.
People experiencing homelessness are often from the most socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds and are digitally excluded. Digital access is crucial for peoples’ independence – e.g. accessing Universal Credit or GPs, but it’s also fundamental in addressing isolation and loneliness. Feeling connected to others can be the difference between someone continuing their journey out of homelessness or falling back into drug-use due to isolation/loneliness – we want to break the vicious cycle between digital and social exclusion.
As the Digital Inclusion Project Coordinator, your objectives will be to spearhead initiatives aimed at increasing digital inclusion within SHP’s diverse communities. This multifaceted role requires a blend of strategic planning, community engagement, technological proficiency, and environmental stewardship. You will work collaboratively with stakeholders from both withing SHP and externally to develop and implement sustainable solutions that bridge the digital divide and minimize the environmental impact of electronic waste.

Bookmark began life just over five years ago with a clear mission; they want every child to read. Currently more than one in four children are leaving primary school unable to read well. These children are more likely to drop out of school, experience unemployment, poverty, and poor mental health. Poor literacy disproportionately impacts children from disadvantaged backgrounds, and Bookmark wants to make sure that all children have access to the reading resources and support they need so they can succeed in school and beyond.

About the role
As the Senior Philanthropy Lead at Bookmark, you will work with the Head of Fundraising to manage and grow our philanthropy portfolio within the wider strategy. You will lead a team of three to deliver on the fundraising strategy, line managing both the Philanthropy Manager and Senior Fundraising Executive. Your role will involve proactively researching and identifying new potential Bookmark major donors and working with trustees, staff, and the Partnerships Board to build a robust pipeline of supporters and secure introductions.
You will own and build a portfolio of new major donors through the full donor cycle who give £25,000 or more, ensuring a first-class cultivation and stewardship journey. You will create compelling, relevant, and tailored funding proposals, reports, and collateral to inspire and inform donors, reflecting Bookmark's strong brand. You will lead on the Philanthropy events strategy and program, providing support to the Philanthropy Manager and wider team in delivering income-generating, cultivation, and stewardship events.
In addition, you will work closely with the Corporate Partnerships team to ensure opportunities to maximize income for the fundraising team. You will devise and deliver annual plans, together with associated budgets, in line with the charity's strategic objectives. You will use Salesforce to manage the accurate recording and forecasting of major donor income, enabling efficient reporting and KPI management.
About you
To be successful in this role, you must have a successful track record in high-value fundraising and acquisition, including a proven track record of securing five or six-figure gifts to meet or exceed targets. You must have experience line managing individuals, nurturing their development, and managing their performance to achieve results. Ideally, you will have experience developing and managing a calendar of successful charity events that meet fundraising targets and managing or working with a fundraising board or high-value committee. You should have the skills to influence, motivate and persuade people to donate and experience writing successful, inspiring, emotive, and technically accurate cases for support and proposals tailored to a major donor audience.
You should be experienced in growing and managing a pipeline, planning for your portfolio, and increasing income.

Position: Senior Grant and Trust Fundraiser

The Role
You will be instrumental in securing the funding, which the organisation needs to continue to deliver and develop its services, across a wide range of functions and projects. You will be an entrepreneurial, knowledgeable fundraiser, adept at finding the right opportunities to fit the right projects. You will also be meticulous and organised in your approach to stewardship, maintaining contact with funders and working with colleagues to collate the information needed for reporting.
The fundraising strategy contains plans to further develop specific areas of fundraising such as individual giving, corporate partnerships and legacies, and you may be called upon to support the Head of Fundraising in putting plans together for the implementation of these, working alongside the Senior Administrator (Fundraising and Communications).
About You
You will have experience in a fundraising, philanthropy or relationship management role and a track record of success in securing at least five-figure donations from grant and trust funders.
You will have:
· Knowledge of digital fundraising approaches
· Outstanding writing and communication skills
· The ability to understand financial language and budgets
· Strong research and prospecting skills
· The capacity to build excellent relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally
· Experience of measuring impact and delivering evaluation reports

The post holder will be fully involved in all aspects of the day to day management of their designated services, including line managing the relevant front line staff. You will lead and develop competence of direct reports as well as carry caseloads of customers requiring support. You will work closely with the Service Manager to ensure that the service delivers on all targets, both financial and those around the quality of the service as well as compliance with OFSTED standards.
This is a fixed-term contract, ending January 2025 with the potential for extension.
The working hours for this role will be 09:00 - 17.00, Monday - Friday, based in Chiswick.

What you'll do:
Lead and motivate your team to ensure the championing of and maintenance of a positive local culture within your service
Deliver effective supervision and team meetings with staff and ensure that information, reporting and communication
Responsible for the personal development of staff, identifying high performers and feeding into the organisations succession plans
Ensure that Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) required as part of the Contract are met and recorded correctly
Develop key business relationships with all appropriate relevant customers/external parties to ensure service delivery excellence and maximise new business opportunities in own patch
Participate in and monitor the initial and continuous assessment of needs and ensure that support planning is carried out in line with assessed needs of the customer
Carry out other administrative tasks as relevant to the service and directed by the Contract/Heads of Operations
Deliver an out of hours on-call service for region, where required
Ensure that all safeguarding cases are managed in line with safeguarding protocols and are reported to Service Manager/Head of Services, as appropriate
Ensure Look Ahead Health and Safety policies are adhered to at all times and to uphold all health and safety responsibilities within relevant policies and local protocols
Adhere to all the policies and procedures of Look Ahead Care, Support & Housing plus those specific to the project including any statutory requirements

About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a lively, dynamic and driven fundraising events team. Over the last decade, Breast Cancer Now has built up a strong events function community fundraising and events currently accounting for nearly a quarter of the charity’s overall voluntary income.
We’re now looking for an events officer to play a key role within the team. You’ll lead on the delivery of a range of events including runs, triathlons, cycles, treks and overseas challenges, with a focus on growing income and engagement. Your role will also help to drive us forward as the go-to charity for challenge events by providing an excellent supporter experience.

Main responsibilities
- Provide a trauma informed and restorative practices involving the supported individual, devise, review and update developmental support plans, record events and observations and keep appropriate records as require in the service
- Support and contribute to the resourcing of interventions for residents in crisis situations, and/or manage physical risk or behaviour likely to cause incidents, in accordance with the individuals personal developmental support plan, risk management plan or service protocol
- u To induct residents into the accommodation, ensuring the terms of the licence agreement is understood and all health and safety issues fully explained
- u In line with Housingn related policies, provide support in a way which equips individuals and with the confidence and skills to live more independent and sustainable lives, both in services and within the wider community.
- u Develop and maintain professional working relationships and good communication links with supported individuals, families/carers, recovery communities, service partners, funders and other stakeholders
- Attend and contribute to individual’s Support Reviews with partnership agencies

- To respend/attend to emergency situations that arise in other support YMCA East Surrey supported accomodations and have a full understanding of the on-call process

DESCRIPTION
Job Purpose:To undertake a wide variety of tasks including delivering high quality support and personal development opportunities to young people in our supported accommodation. To flexibly respond to individual needs and assist individuals to have the maximum opportunities to direct the support in order to live as independent as possible.
Providing structured support in response to identified needs as documented in each young person’s developmental support plan and in a way that equips them with the confidence and skills towards living independently and sustainable.
Hours of work: 30 paid hrs per week (3 hrs unpaid lunch break)
Friday:5pm – 4am, Saturday: 5pm – 4am, Sunday:5pm –4am
Location : YMCA East Surrey, Hillbrook House, 68 Brighton Road, Redhill, Surrey, RH1 6QT
Annual leave: Five weeks (pro-rata) plus bank holidays. Holidays increase after two years’ service to a maximum of five weeks pro-rata after six years’ service. The holiday year runs from 1 April to 31 March each year.
