INTRODUCTION TO THE ROLE

Girls Not Brides is looking for a Head of Research, Evidence and Learning to lead the secretariat’s work on research, evidence, data and learning to inform impactful action on ending child, early and forced marriage and unions (CEFMU). The successful candidate leads the Evidence and Learning Team and works closely with all teams to ensure Girls Not Brides is a go-to and trusted source for evidence and shared learning on what works to address CEFMU and support married girls, globally and in priority regions where we work. The role holder ensures the Girls Not Brides secretariat is a highly effective learning and knowledge hub on CEFMU, co-creating and sharing collective insights and evidence to strengthen our programme, advocacy and policy work driving impact across the movement.  

Working closely with Teams in Africa, Asia and Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), they provide strategic leadership to increase uptake of research, evidence and collective knowledge by member organisations to enable more effective evidence-based action to end child marriage at all levels. Moreover, the role ensures we continue to play a leading role in coordinating global, regional and national evidence generation through convening diverse stakeholders, identifying evidence gaps and catalyzing collective efforts to strengthen the evidence base on what works to end child marriage.

In close collaboration with the Director of Learning, Evidence and Impact, the Head of Research, Evidence and Learning plays a leadership role in ensuring the timely and quality implementation and delivery of two key areas of the Strategic Objective on Learning of Girls Not Brides’ Secretariat Strategy 2022-2025. The role holder will work closely with the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) and Impact team withing the same directorate but will not lead on the organisation’s MEAL work.

About You

We are looking for a passionate and inclusive leader with demonstrable experience in research, evidence and learning and supporting the uptake of evidence for programming, advocacy and policy influencing gender justice and social change issues. The ideal candidate will be an empowering and collaborative team leader, who is able to provide strategic leadership as well as be a good people manager. We are not looking for a MEAL specialist, but rather an individual who has experience and knowledge of translating research, data and evidence into impactful advocacy and programming.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Leads Girls Not Brides work to leverage knowledge, learning and evidence for impactful action to address child early and forced marriage and unions (CEFMU) across the movement.

• In close collaboration with the Director for Learning, Evidence and Impact, plays a leadership role in ensuring the timely and quality implementation and delivery of two key areas of the Strategic Objective on Learning of Girls Not Brides’ Secretariat Strategy 2022-2025, namely: 1) “Highly effective learning and knowledge hub co-creating and sharing collective insights and evidence to drive impact”, 2) “Stronger coordination of global, regional, and national evidence generation which supports the movement’s efforts to accelerate change to end child marriage”.
• Using a collaborative approach, manages a effective Evidence and Learning Team, consisting of up to five individuals, including performance management, professional development and providing ongoing support to individuals.
• As a member of the Advisory Management Team, contributes to key internal strategic and decision-making spaces.
• Works closely with the Teams in Africa, Asia and LAC, as well as the Impact and Global Advocacy teams to deliver the organisation’s learning priorities and ambition.
• Leads the Learning Team’s strategy and work planning, budgeting, and tracking of progress against the organisation’s key performance indicators.
• Contributes to development of funding proposals as requested.
• Leads the Learning Team’s work on ensuring Girls Not Brides is a go-to and trusted source for evidence and shared learning on what works to end CEFMU and support married girls.

Leads Girls Not Brides’ work as a global knowledge and learning hub.

• Oversee the development and implementation of Girls Not Brides’ Knowledge and Learning Hub, that ensures the secretariat is a go-to place for learning and evidence on CEFMU.
• Working with the Learning Team, oversees knowledge management activities for Girls Not Brides ensuring the organisation has the latest learning, evidence and data on CEFMU and has up-to-date evidence-based key messages on CEFMU and relevant topics.
• Oversees the development of learning resources and opportunities on ending child marriage, including the development of thematic briefs, learning or research webinars, capacity enhancement sessions, peer learning sessions, etc.
• Works closely with Learning Team and teams in Africa, Asia and LAC to identify and respond to learning priorities of members organisations in the Global Partnership.
• In close collaboration with Heads of Africa, Asia and LAC Teams, oversees the development and implementation of Girls Not Brides learning offer with National/State Partnerships, coalitions and members.
• In close collaboration with Teams in Africa, Asia and LAC, ensures the Secretariat works effectively with member organisations to document, collate and share information and evidence on what works to end CEFMU, and supports effective action and results within the global Partnership and broader movement.
• Oversees the timely and effective dissemination of key evidence and learning to all audiences through different channels e.g. newsletter, webinar, etc.

Leads on the uptake of knowledge, learning and evidence by member organisations to increase the quality and impact of programming and evidence-based influencing.

Working closely with the Learning Team and colleagues in Africa, Asia and LAC teams:

• Supports the facilitation of knowledge exchange with and between member organisations, National and State Partnerships and coalitions and the broader movement.
• Ensures Girls Not Brides provides technical assistance on learning, data and evidence to selected National/State Partnerships and coalitions to inform and strengthen their collective advocacy and programming.
• Contributes to translate learning and knowledge into impactful advocacy and policy influencing initiatives and programmes.

Oversees Girls Not Brides’ role to promote a stronger coordination of evidence generation at all levels.

• Working closely with the Research Manager, oversees the work of the Child Marriage Research to Action Network (CRANK) to support stronger coordination of global, regional, and national evidence generation which supports the movement’s efforts to accelerate change to end child marriage.
• Contributes to reinforce strategic partnerships with key stakeholders and to position Girls Not Brides with key research actors in the field such as the UN, academics, think tanks, etc. for better coordination in the field and stronger strategic collaborations.
• Works closely with the Research Manager, to provide strategic direction and advice to Teams in Africa, Asia and LAC for a stronger coordination of evidence generation at regional and national level.
• Promotes and advocates for a more equitable knowledge system.

PERSON SPECIFICATION 

Essential experience 

• Post graduate degree in a relevant area, such as social science, development studies, international relations, human rights or gender, or relevant proven professional experience.
• Significant experience in learning, evidence and research and supporting the uptake of evidence to strengthen programming, advocacy and policy outcomes and influencing on gender justice and social change issues.
• Proven experience in developing and managing effective and impactful teams, including strong and inclusive people management, line management of individuals, performance management, fostering ongoing professional development, team planning and budgeting.
• Track record of embedding a learning culture at the organisational level 
• Demonstrable experience of designing and conducting quantitative and qualitative research and evaluations
• Knowledge and experience of gender transformative approaches and its application in research, programme and network spaces.
• Significant experience of working with a wide range of civil society organisations – from international NGOs to small grassroots organisations; knowledge of the challenges and opportunities facing civil society organisations working to promote a child rights/gender equality agenda.

Job Description  

The Partnership Officer will be a key member of The Hygiene Bank’s income generation team and wider central team, with a responsibility to help meet the needs of our existing partnerships and support in fulfilling the charity’s income generation plans and strategy. 

Key Responsibilities 

You will support the management of our brand and corporate partners, working with the Head of Brand and Corporate Partnerships. Your role will be to develop and deliver partnership strategies and stewardship plans for each account, to deliver against our objectives and meet income targets. 

• Work closely with the Head of Brands and Corporate Partnerships and to ensure the collaborative transition of new partners into account management, liaise with (Brand Coordinator/ Product Donation Manager) and Head of Fundraising, Communications and External Awareness and Head of Operations. 

• Identify and outreach to target brands and corporate partners, working to engage their support for the charity

• Accurately forecast and manage expenditures for our partners, working with the Head of Brand and Corporate partnerships to create mitigation plans when necessary. 

• Meticulous record keeping, ensuring the pipeline and the opportunity database are current and up to date.  

• Contribute to the organisation and team's annual plans, strategies, and budgets. 

• Develop, monitor, and maintain systems and processes including Smartsheets and account management plans. 

• Assist with the creation of marketing materials, such as newsletters, brochures, and partner impact reports.

Key Responsibilities

National Growth

Pipeline Development

We are seeking a Head of Finance to lead on the charity's finances and accounts.

The Head of Finance has lead responsibility for overseeing the finance function of the organisation.  The role reports directly to the Chief Executive, is a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT) and works closely with the Board of Trustees and in particular with the Treasurer.  The post holder also has responsibility for the line management of the Finance Officer and the Feeding Service Administrator (Finance Team).

Working with SMT colleagues, this role leads on all financial reporting and analysis to the team and to the Trustee Board and Finance Committee, the preparation of monthly management accounts, budgets and forecasts.

The Head of Finance leads the annual audit and preparation of the annual report and accounts working closely with the Chief Executive, Treasurer and Chair of Trustees. In addition, the role supports the wider team in compliance with financial policies and procedures and acts as Finance Business Partner by providing support and guidance to budget holders.

EDUCATION FOR ALL MOROCCO transforms the lives of marginalised girls, in the High Atlas mountains, enabling them to fulfil their potential, reducing social injustice and inequalities, improving the quality of life for women, and their communities.

Prior to the Al Haouz earthquake in September 2023 EFA funded six boarding houses, enabling young women to access senior school education. Five boarding houses were destroyed. Astonishingly, no girls or staff were in them at the time.

We are unashamedly ambitious to build on EFAs transformational work over the last two decades. Our Covid Recovery Strategy focussed on widening our impact, and the earthquake has just made us even more determined to deliver on our promise, because we have never been more relevant.

Due to the extraordinary generosity of donors, we have funding in place to support a major rebuilding programme. However we don't want to simply rebuild. Due to covid and the earthquake there is a lot of catching up to do.

As Head of Fundraising & Communications you will work with the trustees to deliver the strategic vision, by developing and implementing a  successful fundraising and communications strategy.  A new website is under construction and the successful applicant will play a leading role in determining its fundraising functionality, content, and messaging.

-        Really great communication skills (across a range of media, types of donors), and can do so with clarity, decision, focus.

-       Developed successful fundraising and communication strategies before, or relevant strategies in other contexts.

-     The character, personality and self-confidence to become the public face of EFA. 

-     A confident understanding of relevant compliance legislation, and financial and budgetary management experience. 

In a typical month you’ll:

-Plan, execute, fundraising events and campaigns, attend conferences, develop compelling social media stories. 

-Undertake research, identify new funding opportunities, write donor proposals, complete donor grant applications.

-Liaise with Moroccan partners, co-ordinate marketing, and fundraising activities.

-Work with donors, developing a range of benefits, events, and engagement opportunities.

-Working with trustees, prepare a monthly update report.

-Manage administrative and compliance tasks including a budget, logging donor communications into the database etc. 

-Evaluate the impact and update policies and procedures.

Position: Head of Fundraising & Communications

Responsible: to Deputy Chair Finance Committee

Location:  remote, withoccasional meetings in London. An annual strategy weekend in Marrakech in November. 

Hours: 35 hrs per week (compressed).

Salary: £40,000 £42,000 per annum.

• Support the CEO in their role as Data Protection Officer for the trust, taking administrative responsibility for key duties as required.

• Have worked in the not-for-profit or education sector and have an understanding of the critical role that good governance can play in making an organisation impactful and effective.

Role overview

The Partnership Manager will oversee and deliver account management across our mentoring partnership portfolio. This role involves managing the partner experience across a range of sectors, including higher education, the third sector, schools and corporate partnerships. The post-holder will be responsible for onboarding new partners, supporting them in developing their yearly mentoring plans, engaging in regular communications to ensure we’re on track with our deliverables, and renewing contracts annually. Success in this role will be measured by key performance indicators such as partner satisfaction, partner engagement and meeting renewal income targets. 

Key responsibilities

• Onboard new partners and welcoming them to Brightside
• Complete annual mentoring project plans with all partners
• Provide account management for partners to ensure a positive experience
• Coordinate our partner engagement work (such as our partner forums and the partner satisfaction survey)
• Meet regularly with partners to monitor project deliverables and ensure we meet and surpass expectations
• Lead critical partnership meetings, including planning meetings, mid-point reviews and end of contract reviews
• Lead contracting and renewal discussions with partners to achieve renewal income targets
• Manage partner contracts and invoicing
• Lead the recruitment function for our London based mentoring project, working with schools to promote the opportunity to young people
• Create and monitor renewals strategies for each partner
• Identify opportunities for upsells across the portfolio
• Work with partners to identify their critical success factors, and work with the delivery team to realise these
• Maintain our stakeholder register, to ensure we have the right relationships across the portfolio and the Brightside team

The Head of Counselling has overall responsibility for the smooth running of the clinical services, the recruitment of suitable counsellors, supervisors, and Strides HCC team to ensure the maintenance of high standards of service delivery. 

The role is an integral part of Strides, working with the CEO and other Heads of services to support the continuous development and delivery of services in line with Strides’ strategy. 

The main purpose of the role is to provide effective management and leadership of Strides HCC. The role focuses on the strategic development of the project, the financial management and financial sustainability of its operations, and the overseeing of all aspects of the clinical service delivery and clinical governance. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• To be accountable for all aspects of clinical governance in the service, reporting back to the CEO as required.

• Organise and chair the steering group meetings, review minutes and report back on actions and progress.

• Responsible for ensuring service(s) meet contractual, funding and legal obligations as applicable.

• Conduct regular management / quality audits and provide management reports on performance.

• Contribute to organisational policy and procedure development.

• Produce and revise service-specific policies, and oversee their implementation across the HCC service.

• Accountable for ensuring robust information management is in place; supporting the continuous Strides' information management systems and utilising management information reporting to assist management oversight of performance and to inform service developments.

• Alongside facilities management and service manager to proactively ensure that all key elements of effective health 

STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT

• Develop and embed deliverable annual plans for each service. Work with and support the other Heads of services      and safety management are in place for all services, including delegating specific duties as appropriate in each service and the SLT in promoting the work of Strides.

• To sustain existing and develop new business for HCC by raising the profile of HCC and by identifying, engaging,      and  building relationships with new clients and other mental health services.

• Develop professional networks and partnerships with a range of key stakeholders to aid service development.

• Anticipate and develop strategies to resolve service challenges or risks involving appropriate colleagues.

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

• To set an annual operational budget for each service in conjunction with service managers, finance team and senior  management.

• Act as budget holder for designated area, responsible for monitoring and controlling assigned budget, taking              corrective action where appropriate, and reporting as required.

• Work with service managers to ensure all financial and administrative processes are delivered to a high standard      within policies and procedures.

• To identify possible sources of income, working with fundraising colleagues on sourcing funding for service                development.

SAFEGUARDING

• Be responsible and accountable for ensuring HCC fully embeds excellent safeguarding practice and are fully aware  of organisational safeguarding policies and procedures.

• Act as key source of support, advice, and expertise for safeguarding for the service.

• Together with the Clinical Manager act as points of contact for counsellors and supervisors in case of urgent clinical  questions/issues. 

PEOPLE LEADERSHIP

• Create clear vision and objectives for service(s) under your leadership; empowering, motivating people to be fully      engaged and participate in the work and provide high standard clinical service.

• Through line management responsibilities, develop accountable service managers with clear expectations and          objectives, ensuring learning needs are assessed and met.

• To have regular, clear communication with direct reports and facilitate a ‘feedback loop’ to ensure your teams are fully  informed of organisational decision making and updates and team members are provided mechanisms to feed into organisational developments. 

• To ensure that staff operate at the level of competency specified for their posts; to coach, support and develop staff to enhance their levels of competency and to take effective steps to address underperformance.

• To work with service managers and HR team to ensure the best possible management of team members, ensuring    all matters are managed in line with Strides policies and procedures.

• Line manage the Service Manager and the Clinical Manager, and the Clinical Supervisors.

• Monitor and support the work of Supervisors & organise and chair quarterly supervisors’ meetings.

• Together with the Clinical Manager, organise an annual seminar program for HCC Counsellors and Assessors.

HE Partnerships at Unifrog

After successfully launching the HE Partnerships arm of Unifrog in 2020, we now support 175+ global universities with raising brand awareness, inspiring the next generation, and developing a talented and diverse pipeline of prospective applicants. We also connect universities with teachers, advisors, and international school counselors through the Unifrog online community and in-person events.

What you’ll do

As HE Partnerships Manager, your role is to grow our university partner numbers and support our existing university partners to get the most out of their partnership with us. A fundamental element of our work with universities is to make sure they’re adding genuine value to our student and teacher community. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Make sales to universities in the UK and around the world

  You’ll set up and conduct meetings with university staff in which you’ll listen to their needs, communicate our mission to them, demonstrate our offering, and seek to secure the university’s ongoing subscription.

• Maintain excellent relationships with existing partner universities, and secure their resubscriptions

  You’ll onboard new partners, conduct regular check-in calls, and consultatively support our partner universities to make the most of their partnership with us in line with their goals. It’s crucial that you maintain a sky-high resubscription rate.

• Deliver our existing services for partner universities

  Our HE offering is new and fast evolving. You’ll be involved in delivering every part of it, including:

  • Insights dashboard

    • Our Insights dashboard and reports use aggregated data from the Unifrog platform to uncover trends at subject and regional levels, and are designed to inform universities’ marketing, recruitment and portfolio planning. You’ll consult with partner universities to help them get the most out of their Insights dashboard, present reports to them, and identify potential upsell opportunities.

  • Student fairs, college counselor networking events, and teacher conferences

    • These events are a great way for our partner universities to interact with our community of students and teachers. We want our events to be useful and enjoyable for all parties. You’ll make sure your partners get involved in the events that best meet their recruitment and outreach objectives, as well as leveraging their best academics and student ambassadors to present to Unifrog students.

• Identify upsell opportunities that will help our partners to achieve their goals

  You’ll seek to build relationships across different university departments, such as Marketing, International recruitment or Widening Participation, to increase our scope of work with each HE partner. Central to this will be showcasing the extra support we offer in addition to the annual subscription.

• Help develop new ways for our university partners to add and receive value

  We are just getting started with how we support universities to add value for the students and teachers using the Unifrog platform, and how we support universities to receive value as well. We want you to play your part in coming up with new services we can deliver: at Unifrog we innovate quickly, and it’s everyone’s job to be creative.

You’ll be in frequent communication with lots of different people, both within Unifrog and externally – this will be in person, written, over the phone and via video call. You’ll need to be an outstanding communicator.

You’ll work alongside our three existing HE Partnership Managers, our HE Partnerships Coordinator, New Business Lead (HE and Employers), as well as people on our marketing, data analysis, and school-facing teams.

• £37,485 per year plus commission (OTE of £60,000), plus company wide and team-related performance bonuses. Grade B.

Main Responsibilities:

• Leading the team in planning and delivering new business activity, drawing on business need, our organisation strategy, sector trends, meeting agreed annual income targets. 
• Ensuring account management of all corporate partnerships is delivered with skill and diligence. Leading the team in maximising the impact of partnerships through outstanding relationship management.
• Embedding corporate partnerships in the strategic development of the organization, promoting and advocating for current and prospective partners in strategic discussions at Family Action. Integrating and aligning corporate partnerships activity with wider organisational priorities.
• Proactive and supportive line management of the corporate partnerships team, which currently comprises 3 x Corporate Partnerships Managers, 1 x Fundraising Officer and the Toy Appeal Temporary Assistant (Christmas)

1. A proven fundraising leader with an in-depth understanding of and experience of working on a wide variety of corporate partnerships
2. Demonstrable experience of successful new business work, securing 6 and/or 7 figure opportunities.
3. Extensive account management experience, ideally across a range of sectors
4. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to speak confidently both formally and informally to a range of audiences as well as strong writing skills.
