In this role, you’ll lead the delivery of our data maturity roadmap, helping Turn2us grow into a truly data-driven organisation. You’ll develop a data-led culture, embed best practice in data governance, and ensure our data is both ethically managed and compliant with GDPR. You’ll also work closely with colleagues in IT, Insight and Impact, and Digital and Design to build a well-managed, joined-up data ecosystem that underpins everything from our day-to-day operations to our long-term strategy.
We’re looking for a values-led leader with strong expertise in data architecture, data management and governance. You’ll have experience leading and implementing data strategies and frameworks, and a passion for using data to create positive social change. Knowledge of financial insecurity and the issues facing people in poverty is useful, but not essential.

Job Title: Head of Maintenance and Estates
Location: Central Office based in Islington, N1 1TY (approx. 10 minute walk from Highbury and Islington station). The role is mixed hybrid including 3 days in the office and 2 days from home, including regular service visits to any of our sites. Flexibility will be required to attend visits, away days, and office working around the number of days listed.

About the role
Reporting to the Director of Housing, we are looking for a Head of Maintenance and Estates to lead on the effective delivery of an efficient and customer focused maintenance and estate service across our properties within SIG. Managing a small team, you will focus on management and leadership activities to empower staff to achieve high quality results in the service. You will take oversight of the Maintenance and Estates function, to ensure the smooth running of upkeep and repair operations, working with various teams internally and externally to build sustainable working relationships.
You will have overall responsibility for ensuring policies and processes are up to date and that the way the function is run has continuous improvement. You will lead with creating and implementing a strategic plan, supporting with short to medium to long term objectives. You will work to ensure properties and estates are kept safe, to required standards and lead the team towards achieving the SIG ‘Good Homes’ standard.
About you
We are looking for someone who has extensive experience in managing similar repairs and estates services and who is able to lead a team to be empowered to provide a high-quality service. You will be able to to develop and implement maintenance plans, strategies, and procedures, and have confidence to take ownership of your department, making key decisions.
- Management and leadership experience, including with direct line of reports and indirect
- Experience in developing and implementing formal maintenance plans, strategies, and procedures with a key eye to detail
- Experience in directing and delivering customer service functions, ideally in a repairs and maintenance or cleaning context
- Experience in completing and managing risk assessments
- A recognised building services qualification and/or any of the following: NEBOSH, IOSH, Certificate in Occupational Heath and Safety, Legionella Awareness, Asbestos Duty Manager Training, Fire Safety Qualification
- Proactive approach to work, ability to use own initiative to resolve challenges
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
- Ability to balance competing priorities

As Head of Supporter Engagement, you will provide University-wide leadership to develop, plan and implement sector-leading fundraising and supporter engagement strategies, policies and programmes – with a particular focus on Regular and Leadership giving (<£10k), Legacy Fundraising, and ensuring an exceptional prospect and donor experience for donors giving at all levels.
As the senior lead for the key public-facing aspects of our fundraising programme, you’ll be accountable for the performance of key fundraising streams. You’ll work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that strategies and operational plans are in line with institutional needs. You’ll support and inspire your team to deliver ambitious targets. And you will provide support and strategic guidance to University leaders, academics, and colleagues across the University.

The transformation enabled by the launch of our first university-wide fundraising and volunteering campaign will provide further opportunities for your role to evolve during the campaign’s public phase.

As Head of Supporter Engagement, you will undertake a range of activities commensurate with the grading and responsibility of the post. This includes:

- Take overall responsibility for the development and leadership of strategic supporter journeys for key campaign audiences, and coordinate communications planning across the Division.

Essential knowledge, skills and experience

- A well-developed understanding of the fundraising mix, and the principles and processes that underpin fundraising success at all levels.
- Experience of developing and delivering strategies to achieve business objectives.
- Strong people leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-cutting teams to deliver exceptional work.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills with experience of translating complex information into effective, persuasive and clear language for a variety of purposes.
- Proven experience of policy development and negotiation.
- Experience of working with a wide range of colleagues from a variety of disciplines across a large and complex organisation and providing consultancy and support to senior colleagues on a specialised area of expertise.
- Experience of effectively managing budgets.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills with the necessary listening, facilitation and negotiation skills to represent the University at the highest levels, coupled with the highest levels of tact and discretion required to deal with highly confidential information.

Our work has never been more needed. The latest research suggesting that the number of children and young people at risk of hunger has rocketed to 2.6 million* means that one in five children don't have enough to eat.When a child is too hungry to learn, when they’re aching for something to eat, they can’t concentrate. They can’t absorb information. Big feelings and worries can be impossible to control. They fall behind in their studies.
Magic Breakfast provide a nutritious and filling breakfast to over 300,000 children and young people every school day. We work with schools in areas of high disadvantage, helping staff target the children most in need without barrier or stigma. Magic Breakfast are ambitious to grow our impact to remove hunger as a barrier to learning for all children and young people in the UK.
This is an exciting time to join Magic Breakfast if you wish to make a difference to the lives of children as we work to influence both policy implementation, with the national rollout of primary-aged universal school breakfast, and legislative change, through the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill. There has also been commitment from the Scottish Government for a national breakfast scheme and we are seeking to expand our advocacy work into Wales. Magic Breakfast’s influence will be instrumental to ensuring school breakfasts are implemented in a way that is hunger-focused and barrier free.
In addition, thousands of secondary school children are at risk of losing their free school breakfasts from September next year. For many of these students, this is their only opportunity to have a nutritious meal before facing a demanding school day, including taking exams. And for the very youngest, we know that the disadvantage gap begins before they even reach reception. With the Government commitment to another 100,000 places in school-based nurseries, early years is also a critical part of our advocacy work.

JOB PURPOSE
The Head of Policy & Public Affairs will review, develop and implement our advocacy strategy and lead a team to influence the devolved legislatures across the UK to address child morning hunger, with a view to the underlying systemic causes of child poverty and hunger, by driving change through policy and legislation. The role operates at our ‘Head of level’ which is the most senior operational specialist level and provides both operational and strategic leadership.
This role will also provide wider leadership across the charity and input into organisational strategy development and planning as part of the Core Management Group. This role will ensure that the Policy and Public Affairs function is aligned to the wider strategic aims and outcomes of Magic Breakfast as well as the internal operational systems and delivery.
The strategic leadership will ensure an external and long term view, with an outward looking and forward thinking approach that builds thought leadership, relationships and partnerships, with positioning to anticipate and build on new opportunities to end child morning hunger for good.
It will require an experienced Policy and Public Affairs professional, with significant experience of high impact and demonstrable outcomes at a senior level in the field. The postholder will lead the policy and public affairs team to influence the Early Adopters Scheme, the national rollout of primary school breakfast provision in England and breakfast legislation in the Children’s Wellbeing Bill (CWB).
They will also develop, guide and lead plans to influence the Scottish government, particularly in the run up to the election in May 2026 and the influencing of manifestos; and will lead Magic Breakfast’s upcoming influencing work in Wales.
In the external leadership that the role provides they will build relationships with politicians, political influencers, special advisors and civil servants to establish long-term, sustainable solutions to child morning hunger in the UK.
As a compassionate, people centric and inspiring leader they will work to enable their team to grow and develop in their skills ensuring they can step away from the detail whilst retaining accountability, build effective resource management and progression pathways. This role may manage external consultants where necessary, and work collaboratively with external organisations to amplify our voice and asks and strengthen our position as a thought leader.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Review and define the advocacy strategy for 25/26 in line both with moving political environment and Magic Breakfast’s influencing agenda, considering the systemic barriers to ending child morning hunger for good.
· Develop and maintain close relationships with the Department for Education and other key departments including Department for Health and Social Care and Treasury, to secure hunger and child focus as key priorities for breakfast provision.
· Develop, monitor and evaluate influencing plans for each devolved nation
· Support the development of influencing plans with coalition groups and organisations to influence school breakfast policy, commitments and implementation

About the role
We’re looking to recruit a Head of Grants Management to join our Financial Planning & Analysis unit which provides timely financial planning and reporting across the whole organisation. Managing a small team, you will deliver first class financial support on over 160 grants and £32m of expenditure. We are looking for a Research and Policy Officer (Maternity Cover) to join our expanding Policy and Research department, which also oversees the TDS Charitable Foundation. As Head of Fundraising and Communications, you will manage a high-performing team of four staff: Database & Donor Manager, Communications & Engagement Manager. Community & Events Officer and the International Development Manager. Your key priority is to raise the income required as per the agreed annual income budgets for the organisation, managing all relevant income streams that include Trusts & Foundations, Events & Community, Corporate, Statutory, International and Individual Giving. You do not need to demsontrate an expertise in all of these streams. You are also responsible for ensuring that all communications messaging is strengthening our brand and engaging our supporters.
Finally, you are an active member participating in the Senior Management Team contributing insights and strategies that align with the charity’s development goals. By engaging in this leadership role, the Head of Fundraising and Communications role will help to drive the charity's mission forward, ensuring long-term sustainability and impact.

Salary & Contract
Full time 35 hrs per week
£51,300 per annum
