Job Purpose - Facilities Manager - Projects 

The role holder will report directly to the Head of Estates whilst working closely with the Facilities Manager and the wider team, as well as operational colleagues.

The role holder will be responsible for the delivery of specific ad hoc estates projects, whilst also providing support to the wider Estates team in the delivery of business-as-usual activity to ensure the development of an estate that delivers outstanding outcomes for the people we support, ensuring the portfolio is managed safely, cost effectively and in accordance with statutory and regulatory requirements.

This role requires an individual with strong project management capability within an estate’s environment, with a demonstrable track record of delivery of projects on time, to Budget and to the requisite level of quality.

Reporting directly to the Head of Estates, the role holder will: 

• Lead the estates input in the expansion of the existing property footprint.
• Onboard new additions to the estate’s property portfolio efficiently and effectively.
• Work collaboratively with operational colleagues ensuring “best outcomes” are delivered for the people we support in the development and maintenance of the estate.
• Support the wider estates team in the delivery of business-as-usual activities.
• Be visible and on site to ensure the smooth running of projects and the timely resolution of issues. 

Dimensions

Whilst the role currently has no direct reports assigned, the level of project activity and the consequential resource requirements will determine any additional staffing needs. The nature of individual projects will determine this although it is anticipated that project spend will be circa £0.5m+ per annum.

Principal Accountabilities

Estates and Facilities Management 

• Responsibility: Act as the senior estates and facilities professional on project work assigned. 

• Project Plans: Ensure there is a clear and documented estates plan for each project assigned and lead the implementation of these plans to ensure best possible outcomes for the people we support. In the planning and delivery of projects, the role holder must ensure that due consideration is given to operational requirements. 

• Project Performance: Ensure a robust contract performance management framework is in place for each project. 

• Regulatory: Ensure all project work is undertaken in accordance with applicable regulatory and statutory requirements. 

• Resource Management: Manage and co-ordinate both AFG staff and external contractors in the delivery of projects. Where required mitigating actions/plans may need to be taken to ensure that projects are delivered to requirements. 

• Onboarding: With support from the Head of Estates, lead the estates input re. property acquisition (both support with the identification of appropriate property and subsequent due diligence). 

• Expansion: With support from the Head of Estates, lead the estates input re. the expansion of existing estates footprint. 

• Business Cases: Prepare business cases, feasibility studies for consideration by the Head of Estates and onwards by the Executive/Director team. 

• Business as Usual Estates Activity: The role holder will be required to work alongside the Estates Manager and the wider estates team in the delivery of business-as-usual estates activity (including site visits, contract monitoring meetings, supervision of reactive repairs etc.), where project requirements mean the role holder has capacity to undertake this work. 

Financial Management

• Financial Performance: Manage project related budgets, ensuring projects are delivered to Budget, to the requisite quality and to time. 

• Procurement: Work closely with the Procurement team to source potential suppliers for services and ensure those services are sourced on a “Value for money” (VFM) basis, and in accordance with the terms of the Scheme of Reservation and Delegation. 

• Tenders: Working closely with the Procurement function of the Charity, take the estates lead in tender activity where assigned, ensuring that activity is undertaken in accordance with the Scheme of Reservation and Delegation. 

• Cost Reduction/Service Improvement: Lead in ensuring we are continually striving to reduce cost/improve service provision. 

• Commercial Acumen: Commercially savvy to drive continuous improvement opportunities (both financial and operational). 

Sustainability, Efficiency, and Innovation 

• Estates Development: Ensure development activity within the estate takes account of environmental considerations/technological advances in the go-forward design.

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an estate’s management/estates project management role.
• Experience of working in an environment delivering both planned and reactive maintenance and delivery of capital projects.

• Experience of managing complex estates projects (resource, finances, scope).
• Experienced in managing contractors and sub-contractors including conflict resolution.
• Experience in both the development of and management of financial Budgets and Reforecasts.
• Experience in undertaking property related “due diligence”.
• Experienced in the preparation and presentation of business cases for consideration by the Head of Estates.
• Experience of working with a Computer Aided Facility Management (CAFM) system.
• Able to develop frameworks to understand a problem, identify practical options to solve the problem, and identify the most optimal solution.

HE Partnerships at Unifrog

After successfully launching the HE Partnerships arm of Unifrog in 2020, we now support 175+ universities globally with raising brand awareness, inspiring the next generation, and developing a talented and diverse pipeline of prospective applicants. We also connect universities with teachers, advisors, and international school counselors through the Unifrog online community and in-person events.

Our focus remains on continuing to grow our global university partner numbers and building ever stronger relationships with our current partners. 2. Conferences, webinars, fairs, and other events - These in-person and online events enable universities to interact directly with our huge community of students and teachers. We’re focused on making them both useful and fun.

3. Content collaboration - We co-create written and video content for students and teachers to do with progression, learning, wellbeing, and careers, which all end up on the Unifrog platform. The content could be anything from interviews with an admissions tutor about how their institution is unique, to a guide on what career pathways are available after studying a particular subject, or a Course on how to approach medieval literature.

The role and your key responsibilities

You’ll be responsible for the success of the HE Partnerships team. You’ll set the team’s overall approach, line manage the team, and be responsible for meeting our HE growth and partner retention targets. You’ll need to foster the positive and innovative team environment that we expect at Unifrog.

Here are some of the main responsibilities within this role:

• Work with other people at Unifrog to continually refine how we make sales and better support our partners through our partnership offering. For example, you’ll work with our Data analysis, Marketing, and Events teams to:

  • realise requests from partners for new data insights and reports 

  • identify insights and develop narratives for conference presentations

  • improve the events we run with universities

• Work with the New Business Lead (HE & Employers) to design and oversee the execution of different prospecting campaigns, always considering the audience (university’s location, job role of recipient, university’s priorities) and tailoring each campaign accordingly. 

  • You’ll need to assess which conferences, sponsorship, and other marketing opportunities we should take advantage of.

• Determine the timing and key messaging for communication with our HE partners, and work with our Marketing team to deliver this communication.

• Manage our relationships with HE network organisations (e.g. HELOA). Seek out further opportunities that help position us as thought leaders in the undergraduate recruitment and admissions spaces. 

• Line-manage the HE Partnerships team, for example:

  • Shadow HE Partnerships Managers on demos and review calls, supporting them to keep improving in their role.

  • Oversee successful partner engagement, auditing, and Matching campaign strategies led by our HE Partnerships Coordinator

  • Conduct Performance and Development Reviews with the HE Partnerships team. Support them with their personal development goals. 

• Be the point person for escalating issues related to partners at risk of not resubscribing.

• To help you stay close to the realities in the marketplace, you’ll manage a small number of university accounts, and be directly responsible for their growth and retention. 

Working together

You’ll line manage our four HE Partnership Managers (who are responsible for bringing new university partners on board and building upon the relationships we have with our current partners), our HE Partnerships Coordinator (who is responsible for tracking partner engagement, flagging universities of concern, and supporting better usage of partnership activities such as Matching campaigns), and work closely with other team members in our marketing, data analysis, content and school-facing teams. 

You’ll be line-managed by Unifrog’s Partnerships Director for International Schools and Higher Education.

• £57,000 to £59,000 (Grade D) plus commission and a share in a company-wide performance bonus.

About you

As the Head of Programmes, you will play a central role in Jangala’s evolution at this important juncture, developing programmes that enable our partners to access critical internet access and connectivity. Women’s Aid is the national charity working to end domestic abuse against women and children. Introduction

The Prison Reform Trust (PRT) was founded in 1981 to inform public debate and improve prison conditions and the treatment of prisoners, amidst concerns about a projected prison population of 48,000 by 1984. Fast forward to today, the prison population in England and Wales is almost 87,000 and is projected to rise to 106,300 by March 2027. We overuse prison for non-violent and persistent crime, and we choose to send people to prison for a long time, and it continues to grow.

Our mission is clear. We are working to create a just, humane and effective prison system by influencing decision-makers opinion formers and the public to 1) reduce the use of prison; 2) Improve conditions for prisoners and, 3) promote equality and human rights in the criminal justice system.

Income in 2023 was £2.06 million, with most of our income portfolio reliant on trusts and foundations. We have just been through a strategic development period and as a part of that we have uncovered significant untapped potential for philanthropic and relational based income growth. We are now seeking a newly designed, ‘Head of Fundraising and Philanthropy’ to lead the whole fundraising programme, but with a specific focus on developing the philanthropy and corporate programme to take Prison Reform Trust to the next level.

World Child Cancer is seeking an experienced corporate and philanthropy fundraiser to join our growing team and play a vital role in improving the chances of survival and quality of life of children with cancer in under-resourced countries.

About World Child Cancer

Over 400,000 children worldwide develop cancer each year. Childhood cancer is most often curable, with over 80% survival rate in high income countries. However, in many low-and-middle-income countries survival rates are often 25% or lower.

World Child Cancer’s goal is to help redress that inequity and improve the chances of children with cancer to survive and thrive in under-resourced countries. We currently work with local hospitals in 12 countries in Africa, Asia and Mexico to enable children with cancer to have equal access to the best possible treatment and care through awareness raising on signs of childhood cancer, providing financial, logistical and emotional support to address barriers to access treatment, training of healthcare workers and advocacy.

Overview of the role

This newly created Senior Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager role will play a key part in raising income from companies and philanthropists to help achieve World Child Cancer’s mission.

You will be passionate about enabling children with cancer to have equitable access to quality treatment wherever they are born. Reporting to the Head of Fundraising and leading the wider supporter care team, the Individual Giving Manager is responsible for the end to end Individual Giving Programme. You will help maximise supporter recruitment and development opportunities whilst ensuring long-term growth for St Giles Hospice.

To manage the delivery of the Individual Giving Programme which includes recruiting new cash and regular giving supporters from a variety of multi-channel campaigns and initiatives. To deliver the warm campaigns such as cash appeals, regular giving, raffles and lottery.

To manage the stewardship of supporters through the proactive and effective data management, delivering an excellent supporter experience through targeted supporter journeys. To develop, deliver and proactively manage campaign plans, budgets, and reports for senior stakeholders.

Knowledge and experience

Essential

·Experience of working in third sector

·Experience in a communications and marketing role

·Demonstrable experience individual giving / customer, and donor / customer acquisition, retention and segmentation in a charity / commercial setting

·Track record of successfully managing and developing relationships with individual supporters, customers or clients.

·Experience of successfully developing and implementing a plan for individual giving / customer, and donor / customer acquisition, retention in a charity / commercial setting.

·Knowledge of regulatory environment for fundraising from individuals including data protection, Gift Aid and Fundraising Codes of Practice and regulation

·Experience of and resilience to meeting targets and KPIs.

·A proven track record of success in working with others, managing people, and delivery of high-quality results to deadlines

·Experience of working with data for marketing and analysis purposes

·Good knowledge of data selection, data analysis, insight and application of datasets for maximum success

·Experience of project management, including budget setting and management.

·Experience using Donorflex or a similar CRM database.

·Experience of working with volunteers

·Management experience

·Understanding of Lottery regulatory requirements (Gambling Act 2005) and how this applies within a charity setting.

·Experience of running a small or large scale Lottery to include day to day financial management.

Right now, we are looking for a high performing senior fundraising leader to take on the role of Head of Fundraising Planning (maternity cover) at Royal British Legion. This senior role is an essential part of the fundraising leadership team, working to drive our strategic development and the implementation of some key projects across the department.

Leading a team of 7 with four managers, as Head of Fundraising Planning you will  lead our approach to Customer Journeys, Case for Support, Portfolio Review, Innovation, Integrated Planning and Compliance.

It is an exciting time for fundraising at RBL. We are now one year into our Fundraising Strategy and have been evolving our ways of working and programme to drive growth. This role will help drive further change, championing supporter experience and bringing together organisational and sector insight.
