The Role 
Working within our International Partnerships, Programmes and Research (IPPR) team, you will develop, accompany, and coordinate locally-led peacebuilding projects, partnerships and networks, primarily in conflict-affected countries in the Great Lakes and Central Africa regions of Africa. You will also support the coordination of partnerships and engagement with local peacebuilding efforts in Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) within our multi-year programme ‘Local First: Transforming the Peacebuilding System’, funded by the Dutch MfA.

As Senior Partnerships and Programmes Officer you will work closely with our SPOs who manage existing partnerships and create opportunities to bring partners together to learn from one another. You will also support the development, coordination and delivery of Local First, working closely with the International Programmes Manager and Peace Direct’s Netherlands Country Representative.

We are looking for someone with experience supporting peacebuilding, development or humanitarian projects, with a good understanding of peacebuilding approaches, and who can build effective, trust-based relationships with local partners. You must be a team player who enjoys working collaboratively, have excellent organisational skills and be able to work in both English and French.

About the role:

The Alcohol Behavioural Change Specialist is responsible for collaboratively designing and implementing, evidence-based programmes applying appropriate behavioural change models aimed at reducing alcohol-related harm, and promoting long-term behavioural change related to alcohol consumption.

As a leading charity focused on alcohol harm reduction, the postholder will be Drinkaware’s internal expert regarding alcohol harm to individuals and will have a good understanding of brief interventions, as well as information, advice and guidance including quality assurance across our work. They will work across the organisation providing expert advice and guidance.

Programme & Intervention Development

• Work with the Head of operations to develop and implement personalised intervention strategies to help individuals reduce alcohol consumption, using evidence-based behavioural change techniques through our app and other digital tools.

• Collaborate with lived experience panel and Independent Advisory Panel to create comprehensive alcohol-related behavioural health programmes.

• Utilise your experience of motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), and other evidence-based practices to promote lasting change in alcohol use behaviours across Drinkaware’s activity.

• Stay up to date on the latest research in alcohol use, behavioural change methods to inform programme development and interventions.

Content & Communication

• Work with the Marketing & Content team to produce engaging content for public audiences ensuring accuracy and effectiveness of advice and guidance in all Drinkaware messaging.

• Work with the Digital and Content team to ensure the Drinkaware website content is relevant and up to date.

• Presenting our insights, programmes and tools to external stakeholders including funders, public health departments etc.

Insight & Evaluation

• Work with the Research team in the translation of research insights and publications into programme development.

• Work with the Impact team to ensure impact monitoring and quality assurance is embedded in all work undertaken by Drinkaware and support colleagues to monitor and measure the quality of its work with a view to ensuring high quality standards and continuous improvement.

About you:

This role requires a deep understanding of psychological theories, behavioural science, and addiction, along with practical experience in behavioural interventions.

Qualifications and/or experience

• Degree or higher in Psychology, Behavioural change, Public Health, or a related field. Certification or training in Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, or other relevant therapeutic approaches is highly desirable.

Essential Criteria / Key Skills

• Strong understanding of behavioural science theories and experience of how to apply them to alcohol use, with proficiency in delivering behavioural change techniques.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing behavioural change interventions, particularly in the context of alcohol or addiction.
• Experience with digital health applications is desirable.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate individuals at all stages of behavioural change.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess, plan, and implement effective behavioural change programmes.
• Demonstrable knowledge and experience of working in the health sector and have a passion for reducing alcohol harm in the UK.
• Experience working in partnership with internal and external agencies and organisation
• Experience of working collaboratively across internal departments and teams
• Knowledge of public health initiatives and policies related to alcohol use.
• Data analysis and program evaluation experience.
• Confident public speaker able to represent Drinkaware at events, conferences and in the media.

Just a Drop is an international NGO working to bring safe water, sanitation and hygiene education to communities in need, transforming lives. Our projects have benefitted almost two million people across 32 countries since we began in 1998.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Internship in our Programmes Team based near Gillingham in Dorset. Consisting of three Programme Managers and a Head of Programmes, the JaD Programmes Team oversees all aspects of project design and delivery with nine partners in seven countries.

We are looking for someone who would like to build their skills and experience in the International Development Sector. You will support a number of functions from project management to monitoring and evaluation. The successful candidate will also gain exposure to all aspects of JaD’s award winning work in the WASH sector.

Role Overview

The Programmes Intern (PI) will work with four other programmes staff in the Programmes Team and will support the team by undertaking a range of activities concerned with all aspects of JaD project design, coordination, delivery, Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) and formal reporting.  The PI will also interact with our team of Technical Advisers, as well as liaising with members of our Fundraising and Communications team, providing support in securing funding for approved projects and assisting in the flow of information on the delivery of JaD projects and programmes to external audiences.

There is flexibility for the person in this role to work  part time (three days a week for ten months or four days a week for seven and a half months) or full time (five days a week for six months). Personal Specification

• Degree-level qualification or higher in International Development, International Relations, Environment, Hydrology, Health or other related discipline.
• Demonstrable interest in the international development and/ or WASH sectors.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to take on a variety of new tasks and work on own initiative.
• Excellent IT skills and experience using all standard Microsoft programmes including familiarity with Teams, strong knowledge of Excel is desirable.

Service Management & Development

Operational Management

• Lead on complaints, compliments, and comments management, overseeing the entire process from receipt and investigation to resolution and trend analysis for service improvement and reporting.

• Oversee the maintaining of accurate records of all health and safety activities, training, and incidents and pull off and analyse reports for SMT and Board.

General

Hours: 37.5 per week (flexible working considered, working a minimum of 0.9 FTE/33.75 hours per week)

Location: Between both sites – Winchester Science Centre (WSC), Winchester, SO21 1HZ, and Wonderseekers HQ, Eastleigh, SO50 9DE. Onsite presence is essential for the majority of this role, however occasional remote working is possible for a small proportion of time – this can be discussed at the interview stage.

Work pattern: Usually Monday to Friday working during office hours. Occasional out of hours work will be required. The charity operates 7 days a week.

1. The Role

The Head of Audiences is a new leadership role in the Commercial Operations team designed to ensure that audience insight and segmentation are at the heart of everything we do. This role will lead on understanding who our current and prospective audiences are, how they engage with us and what they need now and in the future. You will use this insight to guide programming, marketing, visitor experience at Winchester Science Centre but as we evolve our Charity’s reach and engagement you will play an important role in ensuring we fulfil our ambitious plans and reaching a diverse community. By building an inclusive and evidence-based audience strategy, this role will enable Winchester Science Centre to grow reach and engagement, deepen impact and fulfil its charitable mission to inspire a lifetime of curiosity in science.

The role is part of the Commercial Operations team led by the Chief Operating Officer and will work closely with the Head of Programming and Head of Visitor Experience. However, you will work with the wider leadership and their teams to ensure that both the community programme and on-site experience are insight-led, responsive to audience needs, and relevant to a wide range of segments. It plays a key role in championing access, equity and inclusion across all areas of the Charity’s work.

As we embark on a chapter of significant growth, you will play a pivotal role in identifying the audiences and ensuring they sit at the heart of our decision making. You will work with key stakeholders across the business, including our Children’s Voice, to ensure the Charity can achieve its commercial and impact objectives. At the heart of that conversation is a deep understanding of our audiences through geo-demographic and / or psychographic audience segmentation, that you will lead on.

You will lead a small team, with the potential for growth, comprising a Marketing Officer and a Digital Content and Brand Producer. Together, you will be responsible for driving bold, creative campaigns that are grounded in audience insight, developing engaging content across all channels, and supporting the evolution of our brand to reflect the diversity and ambition of our mission. As the team grows, you will shape its direction, nurture talent, and ensure alignment between strategy and delivery across all audience touchpoints.

2. Job Description

Key Responsibilities

· Lead the organisation’s audience strategy, embedding a data-led approach that informs programme development, marketing and wider organisational planning and offer.

· Lead the audiences' team to deliver high impact campaigns that delivers on organisational objectives and visitation targets, that contributes to the continued brand development of Wonderseekers and Winchester Science Centre.

· Use your expertise in audience segmentation to design, shape and oversee the delivery of multi-channel marketing strategies that maximises return on investment and successfully drives visitation and audience engagement targets.

· Gather, analyse and communicate audience insight using internal data, commissioned research and external benchmarking to build a shared understanding of current and potential audiences.

· Develop strategic campaigns to deliver audience growth with a focus on breadth (reach), depth (repeat engagement), equity (inclusive access) and impact (positive change).

· Collaborate with the Head of Programming to ensure audience needs, motivations and barriers directly inform the content, tone and timing of all programmes.

· Collaborate with the Development team to identify and align target audiences for new exhibitions and experiences.

· Collaborate with the fundraising team to ensure audience alignment for fundraising activities.

· Champion a culture of audience-centred decision-making across the organisation, ensuring all teams understand and use segmentation to shape their work and programmes.

· Provide actionable insight to the marketing team to refine messaging, campaign targeting, content tone and channel strategy by segment.

· Work in partnership with the Head of Visitor Experience to ensure audience insight and segmentation inform all aspects of the on-site experience including welcome, signage, wayfinding, service tone, flow and accessibility.

· Ensure programme, marketing and visitor experience are aligned to deliver a coherent, satisfying and inclusive journey for every audience group.

· Evaluate the audience experience across all touchpoints, using qualitative and quantitative feedback to support continuous improvement and operational learning.

· Contributing with the Head of Equity, Community, and Outreach to access and inclusion planning, ensuring physical, cultural and digital barriers are identified and addressed through evidence and audience consultation.

· Lead the piloting and testing of new engagement approaches, using segmentation insight to design and evaluate innovative offers across programme and experience.

· Collaborate with the Head of Digital Infrastructure and our web developers to ensure CRM, ticketing and digital platforms support effective tracking, evaluation and personalisation by audience segment

· Build internal capability by supporting colleagues to interpret and apply audience insight in their own work across programming, schools, visitor experience and marketing.

· Report regularly to the Executive Leadership Team and Board, sharing insight on audience trends, performance, and opportunities for future growth.

· Represent the organisation externally at relevant stakeholder events, networks and sector forums to share learning and maintain visibility.

· Manage the department budget effectively, ensuring resources are allocated to maximise insight, impact, engagement, and visitation.

· Actively participate in senior leadership meetings and planning processes, ensuring key audience insight is integrated into organisational decision-making.

Special Circumstances

There may be occasional work, meetings and events in evenings, early mornings and at weekends which will be compensated by time off in lieu. Additional overtime would be arranged only with agreement of both the employee and line manager. Occasional travel may be required.

The Opportunity

This role at WFN provides an exciting opportunity to lead on the development of our growing Winner Network Development (WND) programme, identified as one of the charity’s key areas for strategic growth and maximised impact over the coming years. • Proposal Development & Submission: Leading the end-to-end development of high-quality, persuasive grant applications. This involves crafting compelling narratives from the heart, developing robust budgets factoring in overheads, and ensuring timely submission.   

• Relationship Management & Stewardship: Building and nurturing strong, long-term relationships with both our existing and prospective funders. This means regular, personalised communication, sharing impactful updates and acting as a Scotty’s ambassador at funder events and meetings.  

• Grant Management & Reporting: Meticulously managing all stages of awarded grants, including careful financial tracking (using Salesforce), ensuring we always adhere to grant agreements, and compiling comprehensive, insightful end-of-project reports that truly demonstrate our impact and foster continued support.  

• Internal Collaboration: Working closely with our Families team, Finance Team, Comms Team and Fundraising Team to identify funding needs, gather powerful impact data, and ensure seamless delivery and awareness of all grant-funded activities. We work to weekly transparent Success Measures (3 key agreed metrics which help show we’ve had a great week and give leading and lagging indicators on how we’re doing), monthly and quarterly budget targets and short, daily and weekly team huddles to share good news, keep our culture forefront and ensure we can best support each other and deliver for the charity.  

• Pipeline Management & Forecasting: Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of grant opportunities, regularly tracking progress, and providing accurate forecasting to help us make smart, strategic decisions for our future.   

• Data Management: Ensuring all grant funding information, relationships, and communications are accurately inputted and updated on our charity’s CRM database (Salesforce). Keeping things tidy and organised is key for good governance.  

• Grants landscape: Staying abreast of the trends and developments in the grants and trusts sector, identifying new approaches and opportunities to enhance Scotty's fundraising efforts and keep us ahead of the curve.  

• Team Support: Providing a helping hand with administrative support to other areas of the charity if required. We're all good team players here at Scotty's, and we always support each other.  

3-Month Goals:  

• Onboarding & Immersion: Dive deep and achieve a comprehensive understanding of Scotty’s operating system (The Scotty’s OS), our values, our behaviours, our mission, and the significant impact we have. This will happen through intro meetings with everyone on the team and a tailored onboarding program.  

• Grant Portfolio Audit & Handover: Conduct an audit of our existing grant portfolio, reviewing active grants, reporting schedules, and our funder relationships. We'll begin the handover process for existing relationships with the Head of Fundraising, ensuring a smooth transition.  

• Funder Engagement & Feedback: Reach out and initiate contact with at least 5 key existing funders. This is about listening, gathering their valuable feedback, understanding their priorities, and beginning to build those personal, trusting rapports.  

• Pipeline Initiation: Identify and qualify a minimum of 5 new potential grant-making organisations. We'll prioritise those who truly align with Scotty's mission and have the capacity for significant, multi-year funding – our future partners.  

6-Month Goals:  

• Income Target Ownership: Take full, enthusiastic ownership of ensuring we are on track to hit our existing grant budget lines. You'll provide regular and accurate forecasting, keeping us all informed and confident.  

• Relationship Deepening: Strengthen relationships with at least 5 key funders, leading to demonstrable progress towards increased or renewed multi-year support.  

• New Grant Acquisition: Secure at least 2 new grants of significant value (e.g. £10k+) from previously untapped funders, showcasing your success in converting those pipeline opportunities into real impact.  

• Strategic Grant Mapping: Develop a comprehensive grant funding strategy, outlining key target areas, funder tiers, and a detailed timeline for our major applications for the next 12-18 months.   

• Impact Reporting Enhancement: Collaborate internally to refine and enhance our reporting mechanisms. We want to ensure our data is readily available and tells the most compelling story for our funder reports.  

9-Month Goals:  

• Multi-Year Grant Success: Secure at least one new multi-year grant partnership with an annual income of £50k+, truly demonstrating your ability to unlock larger, sustained funding that makes a lasting difference.  

• Pipeline Expansion & Value: Add £100k+ of new, qualified grant fundraising opportunities to our pipeline each month, always with a keen eye on those high-value prospects.  

• Income Exceedance: Be on track to exceed the annual grant fundraising target, demonstrating strong performance and strategic growth that helps more bereaved military families.  

• Innovation & Best Practice: Introduce at least one innovative approach or best practice (e.g. involving AI) to our grant fundraising strategy. This could be a new, heartwarming cultivation event, a bespoke reporting format, or a new research methodology – anything that helps us grow.  

• Personal Development & Leadership: Review your personal development needs and opportunities, actively seeking ways to enhance your leadership in the grants sector and contribute to the wider fundraising team's success. We believe in growing together.  

Essential Criteria  

• Proven experience in charity grant management.  

• Strategic planning: Ability to develop, implement, and evaluate grant strategies that align with the charity’s mission and objectives.  

• Financial acumen: Competence in budgeting, financial monitoring, and reporting for grant programmes.  

• Stakeholder engagement: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with funders, beneficiaries, partners, and internal teams.  

• Analytical and decision-making ability: Skilled in assessing applications, monitoring outcomes, and making evidence-based decisions.  

• Excellent written and verbal communication: Ability to produce clear reports, guidance, and correspondence tailored to a variety of audiences.  

• Organisational skills: Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.  

Desirable Criteria  

• Sector-specific experience: Prior work within children’s bereavement, military-related charities, or with vulnerable children and families.  

• Evaluation and impact measurement: Familiarity with monitoring and evaluating the impact of grant programmes, including data analysis and reporting.  

• Policy development: Experience in developing or reviewing grant-making policies and procedures.  

• Public speaking: Confident in representing the charity at external events, conferences, or media opportunities.

You will be based at Kings Weald Community Centre, where you will lead the transformation of the site into a thriving community hub. From growing our commercial catering and room hire offer to developing new membership models and service lines, you will be at the heart of our mission to help people act now, to age better.  You will take a lead role in growing and evolving our new customer membership platform by shaping offers, securing partnerships, and building a local business directory that brings real value to our community. 

You will lead talented teams spanning Catering, Marketing & Comms, and our Gym and Centre staff – embedding a culture of collaboration, innovation and customer focus.

What You Will Do

• Lead and grow commercial income streams across our hubs – from catering to room hire as well as  launching services at our new hubs including Power of Attorney work
• Act as Centre Manager for Kings Weald, building it into a vibrant and inclusive community space
• Oversee the development and promotion of our membership scheme, working closely with Marketing and Customer Services teams
• Identify and secure new commercial opportunities and partnerships particularly for our customer membership platform and business directory
• Collaborate with internal teams across Customer Services, Compliance and Fundraising to ensure joined-up delivery and maximum impact
• Use data and insight to shape pricing, offers and service design
• Manage budgets, contracts and supplier relationships with confidence and care

What You Will Bring

• A proven track record in business development and income generation, ideally within the charity or social enterprise sector
• Experience leading commercial teams, with knowledge of catering, marketing or membership offers
• A customer-first mindset, with strong communication and people management skills
• Confidence using data, systems and insights to drive improvements and results
• Strategic thinking combined with hands-on delivery – you roll up your sleeves and get things done
• Comfortable working with digital systems and data insights to inform decision-making and measure impact
