In 2024, a staggering 4.1 million UK women experienced economic abuse at the hands of their current or former partner. The rising cost of living has only exacerbated the devastated impact of this form of domestic abuse. 

Surviving Economic Abuse (SEA) is the only UK charity dedicated to raising awareness of economic abuse and transforming responses to it.

Since our founding in 2017, we’ve proudly campaigned successfully for the recognition of economic abuse in UK law and influenced wide-ranging systemic change to transform responses to it. We're now entering an ambitious new phase, and we’re seeking a dynamic, strategic and values-led Head of Income as part of the Senior Leadership Teamto help drive it forward.

This is a critical time for SEA. With a bold three-year strategy now in place, we’re looking for an experienced income-generation leader to oversee and diversify our income streams — across high-net-worth giving, corporate partnerships, trusts and foundations, and earned income through consultancy and training. As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Head of Income will play a vital role in shaping the future of the organisation and enabling us to scale our impact.

The Head of Income will lead a talented team, including our Senior Fundraising Manager (trusts and foundations) and Corporate Development Manager (strategic multi-stakeholder partnerships), and collaborate closely with our CEO, Trustees and earned income delivery teams (consultancy and training) whilst also being hands on in relationship development. Your approach will be collaborative, survivor-centred and driven by SEA’s values. We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with strong experience in high-value fundraising and/or commercial income generation.

We have established a number of high-profile strategic initiatives to help us advance our work towards a cure. We now have an exciting opportunity for a Research Programme Manager to support the successful ongoing delivery of these major initiatives and collaborate across the organisation and externally to maximise their impact. Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

Lead the delivery of the Blood Biomarker Challenge research programme:

· Oversee project delivery, tracking progress against milestones and KPIs, managing risks and keeping partners updated

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People has been creating life-changing partnerships between hearing dogs and deaf recipients since 1982. As well as acting as an ear to their partners and alerting them to sounds, the charity’s clever and expertly trained dogs help deaf people to live life with confidence and independence, whilst providing love, companionship and emotional support.

Following on from a strategic review, the charity is now looking to build a new Income Generation Directorate, to enable them to transform many more lives across the UK. The Head of Philanthropy will play a central role in this growth, helping Hearing Dogs deliver their goals to diversify income, expand their philanthropy programme and increase engagement and impact.

The role will be responsible for developing and implementing a multi-year major donor strategy to grow income and build a robust pipeline of supporters. You will personally manage a portfolio or high-value prospects and donors, and will lead on bespoke cultivation and stewardship plans, ensuring that all the charity’s donor engagement is tailored, strategic and high-impact. The role also offers a rare chance to build your own high-performing team, recruiting, managing and supporting the development of Principal Gifts and Major Giving members of staff. 

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in personally securing six figure + gifts from individual donors, as well as a background in major donor fundraising, philanthropy or private wealth engagement.  You will have experience of working with senor stakeholders and possess strong relationship management and interpersonal skills. We are now seeking a strong project manager with great people skills and an eye for detail to join as our Head of Operations. Join The Fore, the UK’s only venture philanthropy fund dedicated to backing the best small charities, and play a key role in achieving our goal of getting the most innovative solutions from grassroots to nationwide impact.

Reporting into the Director of Operations, you will lead the delivery of The Fore’s grant rounds, which are the core engine of our impact. You’ll  oversee our Programme Team and pool of Strategic Applicant Consultants (SACs) and will make sure the strongest proposals reach our  funding panels. The role is a key part in achieving our goal of getting the most innovative solutions from grassroots to nationwide impact.

You’ll drive our workshops and peer learning programme, enabling small charities to develop the skills and networks to take their solutions to  the next level. You will also take forward newer strategic initiatives, including our scale-up funding rounds and the launch of high-profile charity showcases that connect our most impactful organisations with government, funders and policy influencers.

Alongside this, you’ll own our impact and learning work, ensuring we capture and communicate the difference our work makes. You’ll work  closely with senior colleagues and be supported by the small but mighty Programme Team (a Programme Officer and Programme Assistant)  who you will also be line managing.

Key responsibilities

• Grant-making: Lead the end-to-end delivery of our core funding and scale-up programmes, from shaping programme design to ensuring the strongest applications reach our funding panels. You’ll keep the process running smoothly, support and steer our SACs, and maintain a  strong focus on quality and impact. This includes oversight of our Salesforce grants system, working with specialised contractors to ensure it  supports effective delivery.
• Strategic Applicant Consultants (SACs): Lead the recruitment, training, support and retention of our SAC pool, making sure they’re equipped,  motivated and connected. You’ll foster a strong sense of community and shared purpose across this talented group.
• Impact and monitoring: Lead The Fore’s impact and monitoring work, including producing our annual impact report and sector insights, and  commissioning external contractors for deeper analysis when needed. You’ll also ensure our portfolio is on track to deliver its plans, and support  organisations to adapt and thrive when challenges arise.
• Charity showcases: Spearhead our new high-profile showcase events, connecting outstanding small charities with policymakers, funders and  influencers.
• Peer learning and workshops: Maintain strategic oversight of our learning events for our portfolio, including peer-to-peer sessions and  workshops designed to build the skills and knowledge small charities need to maximise their impact.
• Funder engagement: Collaborate with the Partnerships Team to align programmes with funder interests and help build strong, enduring relationships.
• External representation: Represent The Fore by speaking at events, building relationships, and engaging with funders, networks, and sector  partners.
• Line management of Programme Team members – currently consists of the Programme Officer and Programme Assistant.

This is a broad and evolving role with plenty of scope to shape new initiatives and strengthen existing systems as the organisation grows.

Candidate profile
Skills and experience:

• 7+ years of professional experience in the business, public or third sector
• Strong project or programme management track record, with the ability to juggle multiple workstreams and deadlines
• Experience managing volunteers and/or direct reports
• Skilled at engaging a wide range of stakeholders and adapting communication style as needed
• Experience working in or with small charities or social enterprises is a bonus, but not essential. We’re looking for transferable skills and a clear  commitment to social impact

• Meticulously organised and confident managing complex logistics and timelines
• Excellent attention to detail, especially when coordinating multiple inputs and deliverables

• Guide and oversee a comprehensive marketing strategy that showcases the charity's core principles and long-term mission, particularly in cities where projects are already established.

Spark Inside runs coaching programmes in prisons across London and the South East, to encourage rehabilitation and reduce reoffending. 

We are one of the first organisations to take life coaching to people living and working in prison and to use systems coaching to bring together staff and prisoners in UK prisons. Our expert coaches are qualified and trained professionals. In addition to developing and delivering innovative coaching programmes, we are also committed to working with parliamentarians and government officials to influence criminal justice policy, and shift the perception of people in prison, platforming their voices and highlighting their unlocked potential.

To achieve our ambitious strategy, Spark Inside is seeking a Communications Manager to help raise the charity’s public profile, build influence with policymakers, attract funders and commissioners, and ensure the lived experience of young people in the justice system shapes our messaging, campaigns and strategy.

You will work with the Head of Communications and Advocacy to deliver a programme of compelling external communications activities through digital, print, press and events in order to increase Spark Inside’s visibility and ensure our key messages are wide-reaching and impactful.

You will report to the Head of Communications & Advocacy and work closely alongside our Participation and Engagement Manager and Policy Lead, with line management responsibility for a part-time Communications Officer. You will also work with a range of external freelancers on design, film and print. You will build and maintain good relationships with colleagues across the whole Spark Inside team, offering support and advice as well as drawing on their expertise and insights to make our communications impactful and engaging.

While target-driven, you will have a supportive style and work in a highly collaborative way with colleagues across the organisation.

Job Summary

We’re looking for an experienced and forward-thinking finance leader to play a central role in shaping the future of the finance team at St John Ambulance. Reporting to the Finance Director (who reports directly to the CEO), this is a high-impact position at the heart of our finance transformation journey—ideal for a self-motivated, qualified accountant who thrives on change and making an impact.

As a senior leader within the organisation, you’ll be instrumental in driving the evolution of our finance function, leading and developing a large, multi-disciplinary team. You'll bring deep expertise across a broad range of finance disciplines and be excited by the opportunity to embed best practices, streamline processes, and strengthen financial governance.

This is more than a technical role—it's a strategic leadership opportunity. You'll collaborate with senior stakeholders across the organisation and externally, using your communication and influencing skills to shape decision-making and support our charitable mission.

You’ll oversee the delivery of timely, accurate management accounts and play a key role in providing high-quality financial reporting to our Trustees and Finance Committee. You'll also take the lead on our statutory audited accounts, acting as the principal contact for both internal and external auditors.

With additional responsibility for cashflow forecasting, treasury management, tax compliance, VAT, and gift aid, this role ensures St John maintains robust financial governance. While charity sector experience is an advantage, it's your passion for making a difference and your leadership in finance that will set you apart.

About You

• Educated to degree level with a full professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
• Significant post-qualification experience (PQE) in senior financial accounting roles, with strong technical expertise.
• Proven track record in producing annual statutory accounts and successfully managing external audit processes.
• Extensive experience leading and developing large finance teams within complex organisations, driving performance and accountability.
• Skilled in preparing management accounts, income and expenditure reports, and cash flow forecasts to support strategic decision-making.
• Demonstrated success in finance team transformation, implementing process improvements, and enhancing financial controls.
• Experienced in stakeholder engagement at all levels, including Board reporting, and providing expert technical accounting advice to support change and excellence.

About the Role

• Lead statutory and management reporting: Oversee the production of audited statutory financial statements and timely completion of the external audit. Ensure best practice in external financial reporting and take full responsibility for the accuracy and delivery of monthly management accounts.
• Own cash flow and balance sheet management: Lead the preparation of the charity’s monthly rolling cash flow forecast and ensure full ownership of the balance sheet, including timely and accurate reconciliations.
• Strengthen financial controls and working capital: Ensure effective financial processes and controls within transactional teams to manage working capital and drive continuous improvement in financial operations.
• Oversee compliance and tax: Identify, manage and control financial risks, including tax compliance. Provide expert technical accounting advice and ensure the charity remains fully compliant in all taxation matters, including VAT and gift aid.
• Drive counter fraud and governance improvements: Act as the financial lead for the charity’s control environment and counter fraud framework. Champion improvements in fraud awareness, culture, and control.
• Manage key external relationships: Serve as the main contact for the charity’s bankers and investment managers, and act as secretary to the Finance Committee and Investment Advisory Group.
• Optimise treasury and investment performance: Lead treasury activities to maximise returns on working capital and investments, ensuring alignment with the charity’s strategic objectives.
• Develop team and performance culture: Foster a high-performing finance team through regular 1-1s, development reviews, and team meetings. Embed a strong performance management culture in line with St John Ambulance policies.
