About the role

Reporting in to the Director of Finance and Corporate Governance, the Head of Governance, Compliance, and Risk will ensure robust governance, compliance, and risk management across Christian Aid and its subsidiaries which enables effective decision making.

The post-holder will be the the trusted advisor and subject matter expert in corporate governance on behalf of the Board, overseeing legal and regulatory compliance, develops and implementing a comprehensive risk management framework, and leading an internal audit programme that fosters organisational learning. The role will enhance and protect Christian Aid’s reputation and financial integrity while embedding best practices in governance and compliance.

Some of the main areas of responsibility for the Head of Governance, Compliance, and Risk include:

• Support effective trustee succession planning, effective Board meetings, and support for the Governance and Nominations Committee to ensure effective Board Governance.
• Provide expert advice on legal structures for subsidiaries, including Christian Aid Ireland.
• Provide high quality briefings with suggested solutions having sought professional advice where more specialist knowledge is required
• Establish and implement a comprehensive risk management framework including registers and appetite statements to guide directorate-level risk management.
• Develop a compliance culture covering data protection, money laundering, counter-terrorism, sanctions management, fraud prevention, and misuse of funds.
• Complete all regulatory filings (Charity Commission, OSCR, Companies House, ICO) within deadlines to avoid penalties.
• Implement an agreed internal audit plan reviewed by the Audit and Risk Committee to ensure assurance over key controls.
• Evaluate key contracts to ensure compliance and provide legal advice using external panels when necessary.
• Lead a team empowering others to drive progress and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
• Define team's responsibilities and drive the team to promote the exchange of ideas and knowledge to maximise impact and achieve outstanding results.

About you

Who we are looking for:

Essential:

• Professional qualification in law, accountancy, Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or corporate governance (ICSA).
• Extensive experience (5+ years) in UK Charity and corporate governance, compliance, and risk management within complex organisations.
• Demonstrable expertise in managing legislative changes and interpreting regulations.
• Advanced understanding of legal frameworks (e.g. data protection laws), regulatory requirements, risk management principles, and internal audit processes.
• Exceptional analytical skills for interpreting legislation; ability to communicate technical information effectively to non-specialist audiences; negotiation skills for resolving disputes.

• Experience acting as legal counsel

The Senior Evidence & Evaluation Manager will sit within the Impact & Evidence directorate at the heart of Youth Futures Foundation.

Working with three Heads of Evaluation, the Deputy Director and the Director, you will help ensure our evaluations are designed to generate credible evidence of what works.

You will:

• lead the design, commissioning and management of impact evaluations, including RCTs and QEDs. This will include feasibility or developmental work where interventions are not yet ready for full impact evaluation.

• work closely with independent evaluators and delivery partners and colleagues in our Programmes & Grants and Policy & Communications directorates to assess the evaluability of interventions, and lead the design and delivery of large-scale, complex impact evaluations.

Role purpose

The Head of Finance is a key member of the Charity’s senior management team, working closely with the chief executive, directors, and trustees. JOB PURPOSE 

The postholder is responsible for securing, managing, and growing commercial partnerships with organisations that support AdviceUK’s mission, values and strategic priorities. These partnerships should significantly increase AdviceUK’s commercial income, extend AdviceUK’s reach, and achieve measurable social impact. The postholder will ensure that commercial partnerships both comply with relevant legal and regulatory requirements and contribute positively to AdviceUK’s reputation and influence. 

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

1. Partnership development 

• Identify, research, and secure new commercial and corporate partnership opportunities aligned with AdviceUK’s strategic and income generation priorities. 

• Develop compelling partnership propositions, including sponsorships, strategic alliances, product/service developments, cause‑related marketing, corporate social responsibility, and other commercial collaborations. 

• Identify and develop new products and services that benefit members, grow income, and support member recruitment and retention. 

• Shape new products and services with user and sector insight, applying structured approaches to testing, evaluation and scaling. Ensure that pricing, return on investment and other financial modelling is completed to demonstrate how new products or services deliver agreed objectives. 

• Bring external market insight into AdviceUK’s strategic planning and decision making, ensuring that commercial partnership propositions are clearly differentiated in the markets they are targeting. 

• Work with the Head of Membership and Services, other colleagues at AdviceUK, and AdviceUK’s existing commercial partners to develop a commercial partnership strategy, business plan and pipeline. 

• Lead negotiations and contract discussions in partnership with the Head of Membership and Services, Finance and where relevant, AdviceUK commercial partners and subsidiaries. 

• Ensure all partnerships align with the charity’s mission, values and ethical standards.  

• Carry out appropriate due diligence and risk assessments on commercial partners

2. Partnership management and growth 

• Act as the primary relationship manager for AdviceUK’s current commercial partners and subsidiaries to ensure they feel valued, informed, and engaged throughout the partnership lifecycle. 

• Maximise the value of established partnerships through renewals, extensions, upselling opportunities, and agreed new income generation activity. Support cross‑team collaboration and knowledge sharing. 

• Identify opportunities for innovation and growth within AdviceUK’s commercial partnerships portfolio. 

• Support the communication of impact to partners, including reporting on outcomes enabled by their support. 

• Represent AdviceUK at events, conferences and networks relevant to the commercial partnerships portfolio.

3. Income generation and performance 

• Ensure all partnerships deliver against agreed financial and non‑financial objectives. Contribute to departmental budgeting and forecasting. 

• Monitor partnership performance and provide accurate reporting on partnership income, engagement, and impact. 

• Contribute to the ongoing review of existing commercial partnerships and service level agreements, making recommendations for change as required. 

• Share learning, insight, and good practice to continually improve commercial partnership approaches.  

• Ensure compliance with Charity Commission and Companies House guidance, relevant fundraising regulations, and internal governance policies.  

• Work closely with AdviceUK colleagues to deliver integrated partnership activities.  

4. Data and evidence

• Support the delivery of performance reports as required to evidence the extent to which commercial partnerships are achieving required KPIs. 

• Work with colleagues to ensure that partnership datasets are accurate, timely and support decision making. 

• Ensure any partnership activity that requires data sharing adheres to data protection and cybersecurity requirements. 

5. General responsibilities

As Head of Creative & Content, you will shape and champion the creative vision of Child Bereavement UK. You’ll lead the development of a bold, purposeful content and creative strategy that brings our mission to life, ensuring every story, campaign and asset is high-quality, evidence-based, accessible and emotionally resonant across all channels.

Main Responsibilities

1. Leadership, Team Management & Administration

• Work alongside the Director of Marketing & Communications to lead the Marketing & Communications team, ensuring there is a clear direction of travel, an understanding of purpose and exemplary culture embedded to drive future success.

The Communications Manager is a key role in the planning and delivering of high quality, integrated internal and external communications to increase awareness of and drive engagement with The Children’s Trust, as part of the Fundraising and Communications Directorate.
