Experience in delivering Family Group Conferences is desirable but is not essential for this role. We are looking for senior operational leaders with experience in and passion for restorative practices.

The role offers flexible, hybrid working with a requirement to be in our Eastleigh, Hampshire office two days a week (Tuesday is an essential day). A successful candidate would need to actively work in person with commissioners, external partners, and our teams throughout our programme areas on a regular basis, depending on service needs.

Willingness to travel to other areas, depending on service need and growth is also needed.

Salary: £42,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience

Location: Hybrid with two days a week in our Eastleigh, Hampshire Head Office – requirement for Tuesday in the office

Role Requirements

• Support planning and changes in the administration of children and young people’s timetable for children and family services.
• Support with photocopying of notes for subject access/ solicitor requests (SARS).
• Manage the SARS and redacting process with appropriate members of the Therapies teams.
• Update logs and coordinate the Clinical and Safeguarding Supervision across the Therapies teams, escalating non-compliance where required.
• Monitor mandatory training compliance and administer booking processes for all relevant training sessions/course.
• Coordinating specialist clinics, including spine and hip clinics; liaising with the Physiotherapy team to ensure the correct children are on the schedule. Liaison with external Consultants to organise the clinic lists.
• Carry out audiotyping of clinic letters and distribute as required.
• Update absences within the teams onto the SMI (staff care) system, as requested by the Heads of Service.
• Place orders for any required equipment and/or resources for departments and for the children and young people as deemed necessary.
• Take overview of clinical asset ordering, linking with the clinical assets team and management system, in line with MHRA guidelines and the medical devices policy.
• Track and monitor equipment orders with Heads of service, escalate delays and provide a central overview for all equipment re-charges and ordering.
• Raise and receipt PO’s and invoices for the therapies directorate and liaise closely with the finance team.
• Undertake other or additional duties that are within your skills and abilities, as the organisation may reasonably require from time to time.

With experience of working in a complex environment, across a large and diverse workforce, you will be exceptionally organised with a high-level of attention to detail. You will naturally possess excellent inter-personal skills, and an ability to consult and positively engage with key stakeholders across the organisation.

We are seeking to recruit two Development Workers for Salford’s flagship Wellbeing Matters programme.

The Wellbeing Matters programme is a Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) led initiative delivered by Salford CVS in partnership with five VCSE anchor organisations. The Programme focuses on Person and Community Centred Approaches to improving the wellbeing of Salford people that are commissioned by NHS Greater Manchester, Salford’s five Primary Care Networks, and Salford Integrated Commissioning.

Wellbeing Matters Programme has two core elements, firstly community connecting / social prescribing. This connects people referred through health professionals with a non-medical need to local community assets to support an individual’s wellbeing, independence, and reduce social isolation. The programme aims to support people feel more connected to their communities, providing confidence, and social interaction connections, linking individuals to local activities and services. The main aim is to support individuals become prepared on how to manage their own health and wellbeing.

The second core element of the Wellbeing Matters programme supports the development and maintenance of the VCSE ecosystem that supports social prescribing through volunteering, voluntary action, community activities, investment and assuring quality of groups and activities. This element of Wellbeing Matters includes a team of Development Workers whose role is to develop the capacity of local VCSE groups and activities that ensures a healthy voluntary, community and social enterprise eco-system to socially prescribe into.

This is a new and exciting role to support the ongoing growth and development of the Men’s Sheds movement and specifically the work of the UK Men’s Sheds Association (UKMSA) made possible through long term support from a funder.

Having celebrated ten years of UKMSA in 2023, we are now looking forward to the next ten years with an ambitious target and programme to support and facilitate the growth of the Men’s Shed movement and the health and vitality of Sheds, together with campaigning for happier and healthier men with programmes to improve wellbeing, reduce loneliness, anxiety, depression and ultimately save lives.

We are a small team, and the Head of Operations will be required to deliver against their own agreed targets, as well as supervise the work of others. The Head of Operations will be a member of the organisation’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and have day to day line management responsibility for five staff or contractors.

NYAS provides independent monitoring services nationally which aims to ensure that all residents within homes are safeguarded and have their wellbeing promoted at all times. This service provides regular reports which are a reliable source of external monitoring to ensure that the provision has the leadership and resources as well as skilled and supported staff to meet the needs of each resident. The monitoring will also ensure residents are provided with a safe environment which promotes their wellbeing.

We are looking for a new Service Manager to work alongside our current Service Managers to co-lead and be responsible for the delivery and development of the service which includes the management of staff and contractors. You will work to ensure that the service is delivered to a high standard and is within budget.

You must have knowledge and experience of residential care for children and adults plus experience with quality assurance.

This is a home-based role however, there is an expectation with the needs of the role to travel nationally with occasional overnight stays and attend NYAS offices as required. There is also a minimum expectation of quarterly travel to meet with commissioners.

The Head of Support Services will work with the Director of Support Services to create a positive, supportive culture of personal growth, underpinned by a holistic and empowering health and wellbeing approach.​​

Supported by the trustees, the CEO, staff and service users, the postholder will be a leader and will provide a constant stimulus for self-improvement in a learning, supportive and diverse environment. A candidate with a proven track record of delivery, they will provide high level and efficient management of Betknowmore UK support and community programmes, including all three primary services, GOALS, New Beginnings and Peer Aid, as well as bespoke projects which include the development of Hubs within key London Boroughs and creating digital activities.​

The postholder will work to ensure impactful service provision and outcomes; recruit, train and supervise a team of staff/mentors/volunteers to deliver support and community activities; and oversee service integration and collaboration with the National Gambling Support Network (NGSN) partners and other key stakeholders.​

A key aspect of the role will be to work closely with people presenting with gambling-harm issues and/or people impacted by someone else's gambling. The Head of Support Services will oversee sustainable recovery interventions which may include structured psycho-social 1:1 ​and group activities, counselling and therapy, peer and mentoring support, with services ​co-produced by clinicians and health professionals, and insight and knowledge from experts ​by experience. ​

The candidate should demonstrate previous experience of management and oversight of similar programmes of work, within mental health, addiction or community NHS or voluntary sectors. ​

Experience of gambling support and treatment and/or harm minimisation programmes is desirable, but not essential.​

Working with other members of the Senior Management Team, they will input into the management of the charity, as well as supporting grant, contract and tender submissions, operational management, governance, performance and contract monitoring and outcome reporting. Development and Delivery ​

• Manage the strategic and operational performance of services to agreed standards and targets with the Director of Support Services and CEO.​
• Provide management oversight to service teams and ensure the activities they are leading on are delivered to set quality and outcomes, that they are safe and operate in positive environments, and adequately supervised, monitored, audited and reviewed.​
• Provide management oversight to the charity’s portfolio of programmes and projects, including those within the National Gambling Support Network (NGSN)​
• Ensure strategic & performance coverage of all areas of service delivery outlined in the services’ SLAs.​
• Review service delivery and implement necessary changes, to ensure high quality service, reflecting best practice and clear impact for all service users.​
• Conduct regular supervision with staff and service users about service effectiveness and maximise client involvement in service design and development.​

Monitoring and Evaluation​

• Produce a monthly service review, linked to the charity’s strategy and business plan.​
• Manage monitoring and evaluation framework and oversee CMS/CRM systems.​
• Liaise with external support networks, such as universities and research organisations, to aid data management requirements.​

Line Management​

• Ensure staff are recruited, supervised and developed in accordance with Betknowmore UK systems and processes, in particular annual planning and review and objective setting.​
• Support the provision of staff training to the highest standard and in accordance with Betknowmore quality assurance standards ​
• Provide HR support and on-going staff line management.​
• Liaise with Clinical Supervisor to ensure staff have adequate support and resources.​

Partnerships Building and Collaboration​

• Develop our operational and strategic relationship with external partners and stakeholders to maximise the success and impact of Betknowmore UK services.​
• Co-ordinate Betknowmore UK contribution to service-related networks ensuring attendance at relevant operational and strategic meetings and provide feedback and sharing of information.​

Financial Management​

Main duties and responsibilities

1. Develop the advocacy team’s expertise in all of the ways our evidence can be used to effect change, including policy work both with the Home Office and NHS England who commission healthcare in immigration detention, parliamentary work, media work, and to contribute to strategic litigation, and how and when they interrelate.
2. Understand and keep updated on what is happening with immigration detention policy, including matters that influence it, such as the literature on health issues of detainees, key legal judgements, inquests, reports by official monitors and parliamentary committees, responses to parliamentary questions, parliamentary debates, research produced by other organisations, and information that you glean from FOI requests.
3. Keep abreast of the wider political context that may influence immigration and detention policy.
4. Represent Medical Justice at external meetings and events.

   - Participate in formal and informal ad-hoc NGO groupings.

Policy work

1. Carry out policy work with the Home Office, NHS England and their contractors – this may include responding to consultations, and challenging issues proactively.
2. Build relationships with the Home Office, NHS England, and monitoring bodies – make sure Medical Justice is included in all relevant consultations and alert others if they have been missed out.
3. Collaborate as much as is sensible with other organisations to get the best outcomes for people in detention.

Parliamentary work / line-management of the Parliamentary & Research Analyst

1. Oversee our work as the secretariat for the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Immigration Detention, raising awareness of immigration detention amongst parliamentarians and priming them to take action. Work to ensure the APPG brings together parliamentarians with experts, NGOs, lawyers and people with lived experience to amplify our collective impact.
2. Oversee the briefing of parliamentarians for challenging unjust policies, asking parliamentary questions, holding parliamentary debates, opposing parliamentary approval of harmful policy amendments, and assisting parliamentarians in tabling amendments to relevant Bills.
3. Oversee submissions parliamentary committees to inquires they hold as well as the briefing of committee members and clerks.

 Galvanise Medical professional organisations

1. Work with Royal Colleges, the British Medical Association and others to galvanise their communities, encouraging helpful evidence from them, and organising events with them.

About Us

The Foundation of Nursing Studies (FoNS) is a charitable organisation that works across health and social care, UK-wide. For over three decades FoNS has supported nurses and midwives, and their teams to transform their ways of working towards care, practice and culture that is person-centred. 

Purpose of the role

Co-production in terms of design, delivery and evaluation is fundamental to the programme, and so we are looking for a person with direct lived experience of MHLDA inpatient services to join the FoNS team and to lead on co-production, bringing a lived experience lens to our team.

As an organisation we recognise that FoNS is at the start of our co-production journey. So, whilst the primary focus of the role is leading the co-production element of the mental health programme, working closely with the programme lead, a secondary purpose is supporting the development of co-production throughout the organisation.

Responsibilities will primarily consist of:

· Working as part of the FoNS Leadership Team for the FoNS Ward Manager Programme including attending relevant meetings with NHS England

· Playing a leading role and taking operational responsibility for co-production within the FoNS Ward Manager Programme. This includes meaningful engagement of persons with lived experience of mental health, learning disabilities and autism, families and carers, and staff throughout programme design, delivery, governance and evaluation

· Working as a part of the FoNS team, bringing a lived experience lens to support, promote and develop co-production across the organisation

· Understanding lived experience from a range of sources ensuring a broad demographic is represented and feed this into the FoNS team and co-production work
