Since 2003, we have been harnessing the power of skiing & snowboarding to break down barriers, broaden horizons and address the biggest social issues facing underserved young people today.

The Programme Manager will deliver a personal development journey to young people using snowsports as the hook to engage those who are less likely to engage with mainstream provision. We do this in partnership with youth projects and youth service providers across London, running snowsports youth programmes from The Snow Centre, Hemel Hempstead.

This is a really exciting opportunity to play a key role in Snow Camp’s development in London. Project management, logistical skills, relationship management, communication and presentation skills will all make up the job. Along with youth work experience to deliver life-skills or group workshops to motivate young people to work towards meaningful goals – these will all make up the job.

We’re here to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice. 

In recent years violent crime has risen significantly. Homicides, assaults, robberies and offences involving weapons have all seen sustained growth. We have also seen large increases in violent crime involving children and young people. This is a tragedy. Every child captured in these numbers is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them. 

The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) is a charity with a £200m endowment and a mission that matters. We exist to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by funding great initiatives, finding what works and working for change – scaling up and spreading the practices that make a difference.

This role and why it’s important 

It's critical to our mission that we understand how and why young people become involved in violence. The YEF’s work combines conducting rigorous evaluations and research studies with hearing directly from young people. It is also important to us that young people are central to the messages we share externally.

Your role involves ensuring that young people’s perspectives are heard and integrated into our work. This includes supporting our Youth Advisory Board (YAB) and helping young people’s voices play a central part in YEFs external communications.

This role also supports the wider team managing grants, contracts and providing general team support.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

This role is a unique opportunity for someone with a passion for building a fairer legal system through impactful events, engaging member outreach, and powerful communications. Working alongside the Director of Development and the Head of Communications, this role will work across teams to maintain and strengthen engagement through events, communications and corporate outreach. You will play an integral role in communicating our work as widely as possible and improving and increasing engagement with our supporters, including our members, donors and corporate partners.

The Engagement and Communications Officer will work to maximise income and support for JUSTICE through events (approximately 45% of the role), communications (approximately 30% of the role) and membership (approximately 25% of the role). They will report to the Director of Development and Head of Communications.

The JUSTICE team currently work in a hybrid manner. Staff members have access to office space in London, however, attendance is currently optional. Our staff enjoy flexible working conditions, 27 days annual leave, plus the week between Christmas and the New Year, 8% employer pension contribution and access to an Employee Assistance Programme.

This role will suit someone who understands trust fundraising and is looking for a new challenge, taking on more responsibility including managing a small team of Trusts fundraisers.

The role will further develop and review our current trusts and foundations strategy, with a focus on growing and renewing five- and six-figure income from Trusts, Foundations and grant making bodies. This is an ideal role for an experienced and collaborative Trust fundraiser, capable of developing long-lasting relationships and build compelling cases for support that secure transformational donations for an iconic institution.
