Brent Mencap offers fantastic free creative and wellbeing activities for people with a learning disability, autism and long-term health conditions. These have flourished since Covid. People love yoga, poetry, singing, gardening, Breathe and Move, self-advocacy, campaigning, awareness raising, CREATE art activities for young people, external trips and parties. Small grants, donations and our reserves fund this while we get longer term funding. Our self-advocates want us to focus on paid employment, youth services and making Brent Council use accessible information properly. People with a learning disability, neurodiversity and their family carers are inclusively supported by social prescribers for advice and by health educators/coaches for health-related matters if needed.

Overall Purpose of the Role
The Prospect Research Manager will play an integral role in managing the growth and development of the prospect pipeline to enable the fundraising ambitions of Guy’s & St Thomas’ Charity.
This role will make a significant contribution towards increasing our income by ensuring that the best potential supporters are identified, researched and allocated in collaboration with the high value fundraising teams.
This role works across all areas of the team’s remit to deliver strategic insight on our highest-level prospects, using data science techniques to evaluate performance, spot trends and opportunities, including due diligence research, build prospect pipelines for priority fundraising projects, and work directly with fundraisers to manage prospect portfolios.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver timely and strategic prospect research and intelligence which meets the needs of our fundraising team.
- Conduct fundraising market research, from larger prospect finding projects to prospect ratings work, donor profiles, networks research, competitor analysis and occasional work on cultivation event briefings.
- Work closely with the Senior Prospect Research Manager to ensure the team’s workplan is updated regularly and work assigned is carried out to deadline, sharing any capacity issues or challenges where they arise.

- Advocate best practice in the recording and processing of prospect data on Raiser’s Edge, ensuring data is accurate, relevant and processed as per the team’s Data Protection Policy and in line with The Data Protection Act 2018/ the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2018. This will include working with the data team to identify data challenges and appropriate solutions for improving prospect data quality and cleanliness.
- Work with the Senior Prospect Research Manager to develop annual plans which best support Fundraisings priorities.
- Network regularly with sector peers to share best practice and generate insight on the latest developments in prospect research.
- Alongside the Senior Prospect Research Manager, oversee prospect identification for priority fundraising projects and support team members in developing projects for prospecting.
- Proactively engage with market intelligence which supports the identification of prospects and philanthropic trends, and highlights opportunities for future fundraising growth. This would include regular assessment of insight on transformational donations made worldwide, high net worth individuals and philanthropic trends.
Working Environment:
The post holder should expect to:
- Work in a hybrid hot desk environment, generally working 2 days a week in the London office and three from home.

Based in Lewisham in South-East London, Sydenham Garden is a unique wellbeing centre utilising its gardens, nature reserve and activity rooms to help people living with and recovering from mental and physical ill-health. About the role
Our Director has been in post since November 2021 and on returning from maternity leave in January 2026 she will be working 3 days a week. We are seeking a Co-Director to jointly lead the organisation going forwards as we have made a positive decision to move towards a co-director model. This is an exciting opportunity which can have benefits of increasing capacity, efficiency, and transparency and allow for a broader range of identities both to better reflect the diverse populations they serve and as a way to include more diverse leaders. As Business Development Manager for our Community Services will focus and lead on:

RNID Near You is our national community-based service run by trained volunteers which offers:

During austerity and Covid we diversified, successfully taking on NHS work with people with long-term health conditions. We provide social prescribing support and health and wellbeing coaching to patients for Brent GPs. In 2024-25 we helped over 18000 people. We’re a leading partner on the Brent Health Educators Programme.
Our income has substantially increased from £382k in 19/20 to £1.71 million in 23-24. We’ve had to adapt quickly, developing and retaining a much larger staff group, using our data better and improving our marketing.
Brent Mencap offers fantastic free creative and wellbeing activities for people with a learning disability, autism and long-term health conditions. These have flourished since Covid. People love yoga, poetry, singing, gardening, Breathe and Move, self-advocacy, campaigning, awareness raising, CREATE art activities for young people, external trips and parties. Small grants, donations and our reserves fund this while we get longer term funding. Our self-advocates want us to focus on paid employment, youth services and making Brent Council use accessible information properly.
Our current finance manager has been pivotal to Brent Mencap’s recent growth, adapting to paying more people, dealing with complicated invoices, making sure we get paid promptly, being as diligent about a project budget worth 5k as our overall budget and supportive with staff wage queries. How to apply
To apply for this role, you will need to answer role-related questions. Our goal is to remove bias from the hiring process and so rather than asking you for a CV and cover letter, we have set up role-related questions which will allow us to assess your approach to a problem and understand what knowledge and skills you have. Your answers will be anonymised, randomised and reviewed by the selection panel. We will use these scores to shortlist for interviews. We also think giving feedback is incredibly valuable for candidates, so at the end of the process, you'll see how well you performed during the application process.

Philanthropy Manager

Purpose of the role
We are looking for a passionate and strategic Philanthropy Manager to help drive our mission to restore wildlife and create a world where nature thrives. This role is focused on raising vital funds from private individuals to support ZSL’s conservation work. You will lead on engaging new and stewarding existing individual supporters, securing mid-value to high-value donations. Helping to build deep, lasting relationships and grow a sustainable income stream that powers our global impact.
This is a hybrid role, with the expectation of spending at least two days a week in the office, alongside attending occasional off-site meetings with donors and stakeholders. As with many major gift roles, there may be some evening or weekend work to support events, donor visits, or special experiences.
Key responsibilities:
- Fundraising Strategy: Implement plans to attract high-value individual philanthropists in collaboration with the Head of Philanthropy.
- Donor Cultivation and Stewardship: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective donors to secure major gifts.
- Prospect Research: Identifying and researching potential major donors who align with the organisation's mission and goals, with support from the Prospect Research Manager.
- Proposal Writing: Craft compelling and personalised proposals and presentations to secure funding from various sources.
- Event Management: Support the organisation and delivery of events to cultivate relationships with donors and prospects.
About You
- A degree or equivalent qualification.
- Proposal writing and presentation development to engage individual philanthropists.
- Proven track record of securing major gifts from individuals or institutions.
- Experience with fundraising databases and donor management systems.
- Experience working with senior volunteers in a fundraising context.
- Knowledge of fundraising best practices and ethical considerations.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and relationship management skills.

One day you might be creating content for our social media channels, and the next you might be welcoming a Minister to the office.
We are looking for a team-player with excellent written, verbal and digital communication skills. You’ll need to have good attention to detail and be proficient in social media and video production.
You’ll also need to be willing and able to help upskill our volunteers to be able to produce social media content. Being a national organisation across two countries, this role may require some travel to get out and about and support our members.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in income generation within the charity sector. The postholder will lead on our very successful corporate sponsorship programme and will develop our individual giving programme. The role will be an opportunity to develop and lead programmes while being supported by the CEO and Senior Management Team with a chance to make a real impact.
