Main duties of the job

No two days in our team are the same. This role will be based onsite in the office in Bath, with some opportunities to work flexibly.  You will have a varied role which involves managing a wide range of duties and tasks, including.

• Supporting the Head of Operations with administrative, finance, compliance, and governance tasks.
• Leading internal processes, including banking and financial processes, supplier relationships, and documentation.
• Helping maintain accurate financial records and managing charity databases and systems.
• Data management, analysis, segmentation and reporting to drive strategic decision-making across the RUHX team.
• Helping embed good financial and data practices that support our values and enhance our culture

Knowledge

Essential criteria

• Two years’ experience in charity operations, including financial systems, accounts and CRM databases
• Experience using accounting software and producing complex regular income and expenditure reports to inform the wider charity teams on progress and performance against plans.
• Demonstrable experience using and administrating a charity CRM to a high level to deliver insights and reporting to the broader organisation.
• Experience in delivering training on finance and CRM systems to colleagues.
• Experience in customer care and delivering customer-facing support on the phone, in person and via email.
• Ability to interpret and implement with minimal guidance, legislation surrounding SORP and Institute of Fundraising Codes of Practice, regulations and best practice.
• Knowledge and understanding of the not-for-profit sector
• Experience of having a planned and organised approach to managing their own workload to meet tight deadlines

In this key role you will be responsible for assisting the Senior Negotiating Officer to manage and support our stewards, safety and equality representative networks across West Midlands and part of Cheshire, advising them in providing individual and collective industrial relations support to members, working both in and outside of the NHS. You will also be expected to spend approximately 25% of your time, managing cases from across the UK, but predominantly from nearby regions.

The postholder will work in collaboration with other health trade unions across the region.

You will work with the CSP regional team to recruit and organise members, influence on local workforce issues and promote physiotherapy.

You will provide representation for members at disciplinary hearings, grievances and disputes with employers, and provide general advice and information to representatives and members on issues such as pay, terms and conditions, and employment legislation.

I am currently recruiting an Interim Talent Acquisition Manager on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Cover) for an established not-for-profit organisation based in East London. The role will pay £48,563 per year and will start in early August 2025. This role will involve hybrid working with at least 1 day per week in the office and the remainder working from home.

Reporting to the Head of People and managing 2 Recruitment Coordinators and a Recruitment Administrator, the successful candidate will come from an in-house recruitment background and understand how to manage internal recruitment processes, with experience of advising hiring managers on recruitment campaigns for roles across various industries, such as fundraising, digital, finance, safeguarding, volunteer management, project management etc.

Experience in the Charity sector would be advantageous and you will have experience of managing and motivating a team. You should have a track record of implementing initiatives to ensure an inclusive recruitment process from the start of a recruitment campaign to the onboarding process, and strategies to increase the diversity of candidate pools, as well as other candidate attracting methods.

You will need to have an understanding of legislation and external developments and how they impact the work of the Recruitment team. It would be ideal if you have experience of working alongside a HR team and understand the impact their work has on the work of the HR team. It would also be advantageous if you have experience of managing internal selection processes as part of organisational restructure programmes.

The Talent Set are delighted to be working with Northamptonshire Health Charity to find their Senior Legacy & In-Memory Officer.

The charity offers a flexible working environment, with hybrid working 2-3 days per week from their offices. Northamptonshire Health Charity has 2 offices, one in Northampton adjacent to Northampton General Hospital, and one in Kettering on the Kettering General Hospital site.

As Senior Legacy & In-Memory Officer, you will help to shape a brand-new area of strategic growth for Northamptonshire Health Charity. This is a unique opportunity to support in building our legacy giving and in-memory fundraising programmes from the ground up. You’ll work alongside the Head of Fundraising to create meaningful pathways for supporters to leave a lasting impact, whether through gifts in Wills or by celebrating and honouring their loved ones.

You’ll help to implement campaigns, supporter journeys, and events like Make a Will Month, while nurturing relationships with donors, families, and NHS staff. You’ll also work on growing the use and income of our online tribute platform, MuchLoved.

Key Responsibilities:

· Contribute to the design and delivery of a compelling legacy fundraising programme, building a strong and sustainable legacy pipeline.

· Help to develop in-memory fundraising strategy and supporter journeys, with the aim of increasing income through tribute funds.

· Day-to-day management and promotion of their MuchLoved tribute platform, ensuring families receive exceptional support and the tool is well utilised.

· Collaborate closely with the fundraising and marketing teams to integrate legacy and in-memory giving across campaigns and communications.

· Provide thoughtful, compassionate stewardship to all legacy and in-memory supporters, recognising their generosity with care and respect.

Person Specification:

· Experience in fundraising or a sector relevant to the role (e.g., financial planning, legal services, bereavement support), with an understanding of legacy and in-memory giving and the ability to build trusted, empathetic relationships.

· Awareness of legacy fundraising principles, with a willingness to develop a legacy pipeline and supporter journey strategy with support and guidance.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, sensitive, and engaging content for supporters.

· Good interpersonal skills, with the confidence and empathy to connect with donors, families, and professional contacts in a respectful and compassionate way.

· Experience supporting or delivering fundraising activity, ideally including events, tribute funds, or in-memory giving, or a demonstrable interest in developing in this area.

· Well-organised and able to manage multiple priorities, with a proactive attitude and good attention to detail.

Your new company
As part of the work to support the integration of a leading University in London, the postholder will work closely with the HR Policy & Projects Manager in the review, development, and implementation of a new HR policy framework. This will include identifying gaps in existing policy provisions and contributing to and leading on the development and delivery of effective solutions. The postholder will also take a role in feedback processes with key stakeholders, including formal consultation with the recognised Trade Unions, and developing and implementing effective communication strategies.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

* Keep abreast of pending legislative and regulatory changes, case law, and developments, and other good practice HR initiatives, to inform the development of new or revised HR Policies, Procedures, and other resources, and HR practices.

* Undertake background research and prepare reports, briefing papers, etc. for the development of people management strategies, policies, procedures, contracts, terms and conditions of service, ensuring that the University's HR policy resources remain fit for purpose.

* Draft new and/or updated documents (policies, procedures, guidance, and related resources) to reflect legislative and regulatory changes and HR best practice.

* In liaison with the HR Policy & Projects Manager and Head of Employee Relations & Policy Development, engage and consult with trade unions, Staff Networks, and other stakeholders in the development of people management strategies, policies, procedures, and good practice.

* Engage positively with HR colleagues and departmental staff from across the institution, to determine processes for the effective implementation of new or amended strategies and policies. This may include consideration of system and process implications and appropriate communication strategies.

* Provide high-quality, technical advice, guidance, and professional support to HR Directorate colleagues and others on employment policy and practice.

* Become a source of expert knowledge in relevant areas, such as clinical academics/ contractual arrangements.

* In liaison with the HR Policy & Projects Manager, the Marketing & External Relations Team, and other stakeholders (as appropriate), prepare communication plans, and develop manager and staff communications relating to policy, procedure, and related updates.

* Design and implement/deliver a variety of support mechanisms (e.g., training resources and guides, website resources) to maximise support available to the HR Team, staff, and managers on the application of employment law and HR best practice.

* In collaboration with colleagues in the Employee Relations & Policy Team, analyse trends from employee relations casework and employment case law to identify areas of potential risk, and make recommendations for policy changes, updates, or training requirements.

* Advise on and positively encourage the application of best practice in employment matters with regard to equality, diversity, and inclusion.

* (Where appropriate) Undertake Equality Impact Assessments on new/revised HR Policies, Procedures, and related resources to identify and understand the likely equality impact(s) of the activity, policy, or process, etc., and associated actions.

* Support the development, communication, and implementation of HR projects and activities in support of the University's strategy.

* Contribute to the professional development of the Employee Relations & Policy Team, and wider Directorate, through your functional expertise.

* Co-ordinate responses to surveys, e.g. sector benchmarking.

* Participate in HR, University, and HEI working groups as required

Developing young people’s oracy skills equips them with the tools needed to navigate education systems, pursue career ambitions and achieve their potential. About this opportunity

Help us make oracy education an everyday entitlement for every child, in every school, by growing and diversifying Voice 21’s voluntary funding. 

As Voice 21 embarks on its ambitious next five-year strategy, we are looking to strengthen our team with a talented and ambitious Fundraising Manager. Your role will support the Head of Fundraising, CEO and wider team to develop new sources of high value support for Voice 21, working flexibly across trusts and foundations, corporate and philanthropic fundraising.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a knack for identifying funding opportunities and discovering new prospects. With excellent research, communication and relationship-building skills, you’ll work collaboratively with senior colleagues to strengthen our pipeline and drive long term growth in voluntary income. You’ll also contribute your ideas and initiative to develop and deliver compelling engagement opportunities for current and potential supporters, and lead on reporting impact to funders. Ultimately the post-holder is expected to grow in this role, to manage their own portfolio of high value donors. 

You’ll be joining the fundraising team at an exciting time as we look to build out the function in the coming years. The Head of Fundraising has been in post just over a year, and has put solid foundations in place to support long term growth. With a healthy pipeline already developed for the current and next financial year, you’ll have plenty of lead time to find your feet, with a realistic (shared) fundraising target of securing c.£500K of new voluntary income in 2027. There is significant untapped potential in fundraising for Voice 21. This is a great opportunity for an adaptable, proactive fundraiser to make their mark, gaining experience and developing expertise across high value streams. 

Key responsibilities

• Research and develop a qualified pipeline of trust/foundation and corporate prospects to ensure we achieve voluntary income targets in 2027/28 and beyond. 

• Draft winning funding bids and support the Head of Fundraising and/or CEO to develop compelling proposals and/or pitches. 

• Support and manage the CEO to lead relationships with funders and prospects.

• Lead on managing the funder reporting cycle and ensuring we deliver on our funding agreements, producing timely and inspiring impact reports.

• Drive awareness and understanding of fundraising internally by making connections with colleagues across the organisation and working collaboratively to support achieving fundraising goals. 

• Maintain the quality of data in the fundraising team CRM (Salesforce), managing contacts and pipelines through the database and producing accessible reports on fundraising performance and forecasts. 

Essential knowledge and skills

• Previous high value fundraising experience (trusts and foundations, corporates or philanthropy), with a track record of successfully securing significant donations and achieving income targets.

• Demonstrated ability to maintain a varied workload, deliver to deadlines, and successfully manage multiple work streams and projects.

• Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, with the confidence and evidenced ability to be able to nurture and maintain successful relationships with high value external stakeholders and senior colleagues. 

• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with an ability to translate complex projects and/or ideas into accessible and persuasive narratives that inspire and motivate. 

• The instincts and initiative to spot and seize fundraising opportunities; with the resilience, flexibility and tenacity to guide long term fundraising activities through to successful outcomes. 

• Passionate about reducing educational inequalities and transforming learning and life chances for young people from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

Where you’ll work: All Voice 21 staff work remotely and this is a home-based role. Regular travel to our central London office (by Victoria station) is expected for meetings. Regular travel to visit our projects in schools and/or to meet funders will also be expected. Occasional overnight stays may be required too. Voice 21 pays travel and accommodation expenses. The package of salary and expenses will be considered when agreeing a starting salary with the successful candidate. 

Contract: Permanent, subject to successful probation review after three months.

The Role

As our Gifts in Wills Manager, reporting to the Head of Fundraising and working closely with colleagues from across the charity, you will be responsible for implementing and delivering all aspects of the legacy strategy, including pipeline development, supporter acquisition and stewardship. 

You will develop and use insights to enhance the supporter experience, build relationships with solicitors and Will writing companies to promote the charity’s legacy offer and embed a Gifts in Wills culture across all stakeholders to ensure growth plans within this important income stream are achieved.

Specifically, you will:

Supporter Experience

• Develop and, with the support of colleagues, deliver exceptional customer journeys and on-going stewardship for Gifts in Wills prospects, enquirers and pledgers including written and verbal communications.

Data and Insight

• Ensure relevant details, interactions and preferences for all prospects, enquirers and pledgers are recorded accurately on the charity’s CRM resource.
• Work with colleagues to monitor levels of affinity and engagement amongst prospects, enquirers and pledgers, using insights to improve the Gifts in Wills supporter experience.

Gifts in Wills Proposition

• Work with colleagues in the Marketing Team to develop a Gifts in Wills proposition and marketing plans to acquire new supporters and build the legacy pipeline.

Culture

• Champion Gifts in Wills across the charity, ensuring all colleagues and stakeholders are aware of the importance of legacies and are comfortable communicating with supporters about this way of giving.

Management and Legacy Administration

• Lead the Yorkshire Cancer Research Legacy Steering Group (marketing, administration, and fundraising) to review performance and develop operational plans to deliver the strategy.
• Work with the Legacy Administrator to monitor and progress legacy gift notifications, establishing working relationships with professional executors, next of kin and lay executors as required.
