This is a new role being introduced within Rotherham Hospice which will provide expert operational leadership and clinical/professional accountability across all elements of the Hospice at Home Services.
The operational remit of the role includes:
- Daily operational oversight of clinical service provision ensuring business continuity
- Working clinically a minimum of two days each week
- Specialist Palliative Care Nursing (planned and responsive) for patients in their own homes 24/7
- Hospice advice & guidance line 24/7 Specialist Palliative Health Care Support Worker provision 24/7
- Line management and supervision of the Hospice at Home Team (Excluding medical staff)
- Responsibility for all areas of clinical governance and risk management of the service
- Team integration and cross cover for the Head of the Inpatient Unit Team integration and partnership working across the Hospice
- Working closely with our clinical and non-clinical teams, patients and loved ones will be responsible for the ongoing development of the clinical services. These will be aligned to the Hospice strategy, ensuring the needs of the patients and their loved ones are at the centre of the provision of high-quality services that deliver clinical excellence in line with CQC standards.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Current active registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC).
- First degree in Nursing.
- Palliative care qualification or equiavalent experience.
- Evidence of on-going professional development.
- Operational experience of service delivery within an Inpatient setting.
- Caring for palliative and end of life patients, families & loved ones.
- Advanced communication skills.
- Experience of leading staff delivering palliative & end of life care and influencing maintenance and improvement of standards.

The Role
As our Head of Finance, you will actively lead on the management of all aspects of the finance function to include;
· The production of interim and annual financial statements that comply with the requirements of the Charities SORP (FRS 102).
· Preparing all information and supporting documentation for the annual audit, and liaising with the National Audit Office, and the NFC’s external auditors.
· Supporting the internal audit process.
· Fulfilling the accounting and reporting requirements to Defra.
· Working closely with the Director of Corporate Services and Senior Leadership Team to develop strategic financial initiatives that support financial forecasting, goal setting and financial planning.
You will directly line manage the Finance Manager, ensuring the smooth operations of the finance function.
Your role will also involve:
· Preparing the annual budget

About You
To be considered as our Head of Finance, you will need:
· To be a qualified accountant with at least five years’ relevant experience
· Senior experience in the charity sector, including producing charity SORP compliant group accounts and monthly management accounts.
· Experience of the financial management of complex restricted funded projects
· Knowledge of charity trading and gift aid arrangements
· Good written and oral communication skills

About the role
We have an opportunity for a Safeguarding Officer to join our very busy team!
The organisation has a strong safeguarding ethos promoting the overall safety, safeguarding and welfare of all of our members. We are seeking individuals who have experience of the voluntary youth or community sector or other relevant professional field and have direct practice experience of working with children & young people in a safeguarding context.
