As a Policy Manager you will analyse public policy to make recommendations to central government, regulators and professional bodies whilst collaborating with our wider influencing teams to ensure we help older people become more financially secure in future.
This exciting opportunity would suit someone with a good understanding of the policy making system and strong proficiency in verbal and written communication.
This position offers hybrid working between home and our central London office. Currently our Policy team attend the office weekly on Wednesday's.

Additional Information

Role overview
The Partnership Manager will oversee and deliver account management across our mentoring partnership portfolio. This role involves managing the partner experience across a range of sectors, including higher education, the third sector, schools and corporate partnerships. The post-holder will be responsible for onboarding new partners, supporting them in developing their yearly mentoring plans, engaging in regular communications to ensure we’re on track with our deliverables, and renewing contracts annually. Success in this role will be measured by key performance indicators such as partner satisfaction, partner engagement and meeting renewal income targets.
Key responsibilities
- Onboard new partners and welcoming them to Brightside
- Complete annual mentoring project plans with all partners
- Provide account management for partners to ensure a positive experience
- Coordinate our partner engagement work (such as our partner forums and the partner satisfaction survey)
- Meet regularly with partners to monitor project deliverables and ensure we meet and surpass expectations
- Lead critical partnership meetings, including planning meetings, mid-point reviews and end of contract reviews
- Lead contracting and renewal discussions with partners to achieve renewal income targets
- Manage partner contracts and invoicing
- Lead the recruitment function for our London based mentoring project, working with schools to promote the opportunity to young people
- Create and monitor renewals strategies for each partner
- Identify opportunities for upsells across the portfolio
- Work with partners to identify their critical success factors, and work with the delivery team to realise these
- Maintain our stakeholder register, to ensure we have the right relationships across the portfolio and the Brightside team
- Collaborate with the Senior Programme Manager to manage our approach to risk across the portfolio

- Support the Fundraising team by meeting with prospective partners to generate new business

About the role:
Kinship is in our third year of delivering the first national peer support service for kinship carers in England. We are looking for a new Associate Director of Peer Support and Community to build and develop our model and to take the team to the next phase of growth and impact.
Your first priority will be to oversee delivery of the Department for Education national Peer Support Service contract in England. You will lead the development of our hub and spoke model, with an enhanced offer of national resources and support together with a continued focus on on-the-ground support for kinship carers to set up and sustain a network of peer support groups. You will ensure all members of the team have clarity and are empowered to meet new targets and ways of working.
The role will also lead on the strategic development of peer support approaches in Wales (for which we are seeking funding), ensuring innovation and good practice is shared across the nations.
Kinship peer support groups are powerful levers for change in local, regional and national ecosystems. Your team will ensure that every kinship carer in England and Wales has access to a peer support group, or support to set up and create their own. The team will be purposeful about offering developmental support to all kinship peer support groups, including independent groups, ensuring they remain or become sustainable. SHiFT’s Head of Practice Development will lead the supervisory and direct practice work SHiFT does with children, young people and the people in their lives who matter. This is a critical role for an expert in practice with complex and highly vulnerable young people. The role has been designed so that you would directly lead a small central team and be outwardly focussed on supporting SHiFT Guides and SHiFT Practices to work in ways with young people that are aligned with the SHiFT Framework.
