Main Responsibilities:
- Develop deliver and monitor a fundraising strategy for Pecan.
- Establish systems, procedures, proactive stewardship, and an engagement programme to provide the highest levels of service to Pecan's supporters.
- Assist with setting up our CRM database, developing and maintaining it to ensure efficient, appropriate data capture and analysis for the purpose of effective stewardship, fundraising and communications.
- Develop an Individual Giving and Acquisition strategy that drives growth for individual giving across multi-channel campaigns and initiatives.
- Pioneer and develop a broad range of relationships with churches, organisations, and denominations across Southwark.
- Management of a part time Partnerships Manager with responsibility.
Essential Requirements:
- 3 years charity fundraising experience or evidence of very relatable experience.
- Experience / understanding of fundraising campaigns.
- Experience working on either eTapestry, Raisers Edge, Salesforce or Donorfy CRM systems.
- Ability to connect and network with a wide range of people through a broad variety of communication methods.
- A good level of general education including GCSE Maths and English plus A-levels or equivalent.

Community Services deliver crucial advice and support needed by individuals, families and communities impacted by the housing emergency, sharing knowledge to assert their housing rights and using the evidence gathered to push for systemic change. Safe Passage International (SPI) is recruiting a Head of UK Legal Team to lead our ground-breaking legal work in the UK. The UK Legal team works to ensure that safe routes exist for all people seeking asylum. The team specialises in providing free legal advice and representation to unaccompanied children and families seeking asylum in the UK.
The Head of UK Legal Team will be a UK-based qualified solicitor or barrister or OISC Level 3 accredited caseworker or IAAS Supervising Senior caseworker with experience of working within the UK in a legal capacity, specifically in the area of asylum, immigration and refugee family reunion.
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead a high performing team of immigration lawyers, casework supervisors, and caseworkers. You will drive the development and delivery of our legal strategy in the UK; supervise all UK legal casework; lead our litigation strategy; develop good practices of line management and regulatory compliance within the team; and lead legal policy work by collaborating closely with colleagues within the UK, France and Greece to create a cohesive, powerful, cross-border legal response and framework.
You will also work closely with the Heads of SPI Greece and France, our International Safeguarding and Protection Manager, Experts by Experience Consultants, and Safe Passage Young Leaders to shape our legal function.
This is a vital role within the senior leadership team of a young and dynamic organisation. We are looking for an experienced leader with a strong strategic vision, an ambitious outlook for our legal work, and a creative and initiative-taking approach to leading and managing our UK legal team.Experience in a similar role would be welcome, but this could also be your first paid position in the charity sector, or you could be returning to work after time out.

to support the delivery of service by providing person centred expert advice, guidance and advocacy case management support, ensuring that people access appropriate support and caba provides impactful solutions to a variety of presenting issues for people in need to help them achieve long term sustainability and empower them to have greater control over their lives.
your key responsibilities:
advice and advocacy
· provide advice, advocacy, support and guidance to service users based around the specific needs presented and/or holistically identified for service users’ in the UK and overseas who are in hardship, living with long-term physical and mental health issues, have caring responsibilities and/or are potentially vulnerable and in distressing or crisis situations.
· take ownership of a full case workload, prioritising service users’ needs while engaging sensitively, research and propose an appropriate tailored course of action, confirming in writing so as to manage the service user expectations, and agree commitments, facilitating a positive service user journey.
· provide specialist advice and casework to service users with income maximisation, budgeting and challenging welfare benefit decisions, through detailed written submissions at mandatory reconsideration and appeal stages, including representation at first tier tribunal hearings and any other relevant hearings where appropriate.
· maintain safe working practices and ensure that home visits, safeguarding, GDPR and confidentiality procedures and policies are adhered to at all times.
· share insights with support service team and contribute to ongoing service development to ensure that the support meets the evolving needs of the service user.
grant making
· carrying out comprehensive reviews of applications for financial assistance on behalf of service users, writing accurate and impartial ‘reports’, preparing financial statements, making recommendations for donations and presenting to caba’s Support Fund members panel for approval or decline of financial assistance/donations/grants.
casework management
· work collaboratively with the support services team by providing advice with day to day cases relating to welfare benefits, as well as taking part in technical case reviews with peers in meeting caba’s quality assurance standards.
· support the service users with completing caba’s outcome and feedback survey to capture information to measure impact and improve services
· liaise with internal and external stakeholders to promote and share understanding of caba in house services, economic and social issues affecting our UK and overseas service users
· maintain up-to-date information and input accurate data into the CRM database regarding each service user case and case records for the purpose of continuity of casework, information retrieval, statistical monitoring and report preparation.
to be successful, you’ll have:
- extensive knowledge of welfare benefits, health and social care, economic/social issues of those living inside and outside the UK
- case management and processes (advice and advocacy led support)
- person centred working – working with the person at the centre of the support
- safeguarding (adults and children), confidentiality and data protection procedures
- proven knowledge of the charity sector, agencies, contractors and local authorities
- good working knowledge of social security legislation that may impact or affect service users
- working to agreed objectives and within caba’s policies, procedures and processes
- able to plan and manage own workload and meet deadlines
- ability to identify areas for improvement (team services, processes)
- ability to collate information and use it to produce accurate, detailed and objective reports
- excellent administration skills and database and CRM system experience at a reporting and process level
- excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability write clearly and keep accurate records with great attention to detail
- excellent IT skills including the ability to use Word, Excel, Outlook, Dynamics and Microsoft Teams
- extensive experience in an advice and advocacy role providing specialist advice and casework to service users
- substantive experience of providing welfare benefits advice, including up to date knowledge of statutory frameworks (mandatory reconsideration and appeal stages) and the ability to identify implications of change in legislation to welfare benefits

Head of Finance and People - 3 days a week role - National
Are you a talented experienced Head of Finance and People keen to join a growing organisation that makes a big impact on the lives of people in need of advice. Charity People is delighted to be partnering with AdviceUK at a time of investment in their team, and is recruiting for a Head of Finance and People.
This is a newly created role, fully remote where you are required to come to London four time a year. Working very closely with a forward-thinking CEO and being part of a newly established Senior Leadership Team (SLT), as the Head of Finance and People, you will be leading a team of Finance and HR professionals to ensure Advice UK's business plan and strategic priorities are achieved.
Salary: £64,000 - £68,000 per annum pro ratad to three days a week plus Regional Weighting (upto £4,454 in London)
Contract: Part time - 21 hours per week (0.6 FT), Permanent
Location: Remote home based role with a small amount of travel, we encourage applicants from across the UK

Some of your key duties and responsibilities are;

- Be accountable for AdviceUK's finance, HR and compliance work, making key decisions that impact their direction and performance. Wherever possible, use data and evidence to inform your decision-making
- Oversee the preparation, analysis and distribution of monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with UK accounting standards, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements and financial forecasts
- Support SLT to contribute to the development of AdviceUK's financial planning, supporting them to take an organisation-wide view on where best to invest to support the achievement of strategic objectives
- Lead AdviceUK's compliance management, by working with staff leading specific compliance areas to ensure the charity meets all UK legal and regulatory requirement and undertakes all required, filing and reporting. As part of this work closely with the Data Protection Officer to ensure data protection and cyber security requirements are met and with the HR function to ensure health and safety requirements are met.
- Lead the SLT and key suppliers in developing a business continuity plan that ensures AdviceUK can continue to deliver its strategic objectives and support its members in times of business interruption. Once established ensure it is regularly reviewed and tested.
- Ensure the development and implementation of financial and people management policies and processes that support AdviceUK's work and culture

- A recognised CCAB qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA)
- Very strong experience in Charity SORP
- Financial management of charities with commercial subsidiaries and consolidated accounts
- Strategic leadership of teams and working with CEO, Board and as part of a senior leadership team
- Experience of implementing financial controls, policies and procedures to ensure excellent service delivery
- Experience in financial planning and reporting.
- Experience of preparing financial business plans, modelling scenarios and carrying out sensitivity analysis and stress tests
