The Role

About the role

The Senior Communications and Marketing Officer works across the varied functions and services of CoramBAAF including policy and practice, membership, publications, and training and events. The postholder will be involved in developing, delivering and monitoring communications tools and channels, building networks, and increasing engagement with CoramBAAF members, the children’s services sector and the wider general public.

This role will suit an enthusiastic and experienced communications and marketing professional with a passion for engaging audiences across multiple channels and experience of planning and delivering marketing activity and collateral, brand development, corporate publications, audio-visual content, targeted campaigns and digital media.

The Senior Communications and Marketing Officer is responsible for devising and delivering a programme of regular membership and customer communications using a range of tools and platforms to achieve this and to monitor effectiveness. They will plan and implement the production of high-quality marketing materials, communication tools and content (written, audio and visual) that raise awareness, drive engagement and generate take up of CoramBAAF’s member benefits and services. Run over three properties, Hammersmith & Fulham's South Cluster provides two of which for individuals with low-medium mental health requirements and the third for service users with greater needs. The services all support adults (18+) with enduring mental health needs, who require additional housing and other support.​

This service is for users who have a recognised need for a level of supported accommodation who may be leaving hospital, registered cared or at risk of homelessness. The service is used as a ‘step-up' or ‘step down' from other supported accommodation, where appropriate. The South Cluster aims to equip service users with the skills to move on and live independently in the future.​

Here's what the team will be looking for

To succeed in this role, you will bring a solid understanding of Health and Safety within an accommodation-based setting, along with the ability to monitor and maintain the safety and security of the service while reporting any maintenance needs appropriately. You will have experience supporting people with mental health needs and a basic knowledge of housing management, including maintenance and repairs. Strong literacy, numeracy and IT skills are essential, enabling you to produce clear written communication and maintain accurate records. You will also have a sound understanding of safeguarding and the confidence to address concerns appropriately to ensure the wellbeing of those you support.

When will I be working?

You will be working Monday to Sunday 5 days a week on a rota starting as early as 08:00 until 23:00 latest no more then 39 hours a week

Caudwell Youth exists to level the playing field for young people at risk.

We support at-risk young people who are care experienced, have mental health challenges, or are at risk of exploitation or offending.

WHAT WE DO

Caudwell Youth shapes young people’s futures by providing person-centred support to at risk 11 to 24-year-olds through volunteer-led mentoring for up to 18-months, alongside a targeted intervention programme.

Our mentoring service is designed to ensure every young person feels safe, heard and supported. Each young person gains a trusted adult (a trained volunteer) who meets with them once a week to support them as they take steps towards a more positive future.  

This year, we have supported more than 400 young people.

ABOUT THE ROLE

To support the Deputy CEO in ensuring the effective delivery and growth of Caudwell Youth’s services.

To oversee the management of operational programmes, ensuring high-quality, person-centred support for young people. To contribute to business development, leading expansion via statutory grants and contracts.

KEY DUTIES

Strategic and External Leadership:

The Enfield SASS team provides advocacy and support to survivors of domestic and sexual abuse living in Enfield. An exciting opportunity has arisen in this busy team for an IDVA within the Domestic Abuse team to be collocated across the LBE Children’s Services.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for risk and needs assessing and safety planning with survivors of domestic violence. They will hold a caseload of service users identified as requiring crisis intervention, advice, advocacy and onward referral where appropriate. You will be the first point of contact for social care professionals providing training and upskilling as part of the LBE Children Services Domestic Abuse team.

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Compliance Officer to ensure the College meets its legal and regulatory compliance requirements as an educational establishment and a charity.  The focus of the role is to be responsible, with the support of the Training Administration team, for all reporting to regulatory bodies in a timely manner to ensure the College meets the requirements of the Office for Students (OfS), The Open University (OU), Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA), UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI), UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), Competition and Marketing Authority (CMA) and other regulatory bodies. The postholder will also take on the role of Data Protection Officer (DPO) within the organisation and ensure that the college processes all personal data in compliance with UK data protection legislation.

Key Responsibilities

Emmaus Overview

Emmaus is a community that provides accommodation and work for vulnerable people. We are committed to providing support while promoting independence. Staff and volunteers must work closely with Companions while observing appropriate professional boundaries in performing their role. They must also learn and engage with the Emmaus ethos.

The key task for this role is to manage a caseload of up to 16 Companions and to ensure that new companions get the information and support they need to help them settle in quickly and easily to the community and to working in our charity shops, warehouse and delivery / collection service. The support worker role is central to the team and close teamwork is essential.

The support worker will undertake direct support work with companions. Each companion has a personal support and development plan to help them achieve their personal goals and ambitions, in compliance with our Emmaus ethos, strategic aims, organisational objectives, policies and procedures.

Main duties and responsibilities

Support for Companions

• Support a caseload of companions to reach their potential through both practical and emotional support.
• Tailor support plans to meet individual needs – setting goals, assigning actions and taking a holistic view of the person and their wishes.
• Guide induction and exit processes for companions – to ensure that they understand the core principles of the offer at Emmaus and move on to long term, sustainable accommodation after us.Use de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviour as it arises, with consideration to positive conflict resolution.Support with incident response, including responding to risk, e.g. anti-social behaviour, mental health concerns, fire alarms etc.
• Liaise with external providers (CMHT, GP, DWP, hospitals, probation, prisons, CAB etc) to ensure that specialist advice and guidance is sought where needed.

Administrative duties

• Maintain accurate records in line with internal policy and with consideration for GDPR principles.
• Perform tasks to support the effective running of the community.
• Contact external providers to make them aware of who we are and what we do to drive referrals.
• Provide written updates for key stakeholders and internal meetings.
• Provide structured support for companions as agreed in the support plan.
• Participate in an emergency on-call rota to ensure 24/7 support is available for companions where needed.

The aim of the Hertfordshire Mind Network Domestic Abuse Casework Service is to provide advice, information, and support to survivors of intimate partner or familial violence living in the community about the range, effectiveness, and suitability of options to improve their safety and that of their children. All advice will be based on a thorough understanding and assessment of risk and its management.

About the role

The purpose of the Hertfordshire Mind Network Community Outreach Worker role is to:

• Provide support and advocacy services to clients experiencing domestic abuse
• Ensure direct contact is made with the client within a specified time of an incident being reported to the police and to carry out a risk assessment.
• Ensure that the safety and wellbeing of the client is monitored and reviewed regularly.
• Maintain and enhance service delivery standards and effectiveness.
• Support the team with case management and volume of referrals to ensure a short waiting time and referrals are contacted promptly and assessed appropriately.
• Collate and obtain feedback regarding the effectiveness of the service.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the wellbeing of clients who are affected by domestic abuse.
• Contribute to a reduction in repeat victimisation
• Reduce the number of victims withdrawals of witness statements
• Be aware of the impact on children of domestic abuse and make referrals to appropriate agencies to support the children where necessary.

• Work with and signpost to other third sector partner agencies as necessary
• Provide a first point of contact for professionals and clients and pass on necessary cases or referrals to the Domestic Abuse Caseworker.
• Refer to the Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC) if required and local IDVA service.

We champion access to justice through information and advice, legal practice and representation, policy and strategic litigation. Our Legal Practice Unit provides advice and representation primarily under legal aid contract. Our Policy and Practice Change team promotes practice change through training and capacity building to professionals and secures systems change through research, policy and advocacy.

About the role

This role will provide leadership and management for CCLC particularly focused on the Legal Practice Unit’s legal aid billing operations. Through systematic and efficient management, the post-holder will play a pivotal role in CCLC’s financial and operational sustainability. The role will be accountable for maximising the unit’s legal aid billing in controlled work, certificated work and inter partes costs and will hold responsibility for the unit’s billing systems. It will also be responsible for private fees billing. The post-holder will oversee the smooth running of legal aid billing including through line management of the billing team. The post-holder will work very closely with legal, operations and administrative staff. The role will act as a key point of contact for a range of internal and external stakeholders including Coram’s central finance team who will support the role with grant fund management and overall accounting functions for CCLC. The post-holder will support the Managing Director of Legal Practice and Children’s Rights and department heads in the successful maintenance of our relationship with the Legal Aid Agency. Where appropriate they will be deputising for the Managing Director on legal aid and financial matters.

The role would suit a highly organised and efficient legal, or a finance or billing professional with solid experience of legal practice and a deep understanding of the challenges of legal aid. Whilst candidates with direct experience of legal billing (and more specifically civil legal aid billing) are welcomed, we recognise that this is a highly specialised and niche field. As such, this role could suit a highly experienced solicitor who appreciates the important role developing sustainable businesses plays in ensuring access to justice and who therefore wishes to move into practice and financial management. They will need an aptitude for processing large amounts of data, developing and managing spreadsheets and improving organisational systems. However, they will be well supported through training, an enthusiastic and competent junior billing team, the central finance team and an outsourced legal cashiering company, as well as a friendly and collaborative management team including the Managing Director and the Heads of Education Law, Community Care Law and Immigration and Asylum Law.

This is a largely office-based role in order to fully provide support to the billing team. However, some remote / hybrid working may be possible depending the experience of the candidate after the initial settling in period and there will be flexibility over how the three days will be spread across the week (within working hours). The team are mostly based in the London office and with one billing team member in Colchester so the post holder may require some occasional travel.
