Rainbow Migration is the longest-running charity in Europe dedicated to supporting LGBTQI+ people through the asylum and immigration system and has been campaigning for their rights since 1993. We are recruiting for a Legal and Support Services Assistant to act as a first point of contact for the charity and assist the legal and support services teams.

The Legal and Support Services Assistant will help ensure smooth delivery of our services. You will be the first point of contact for new queries and play a key role in providing the information needed and passing enquiries to the relevant service.

This role will receive full training and support as required to deliver your responsibilities, which include the following:

• Provide admin support for the legal and support services teams
• Answer calls and emails
• Prioritise enquires from service users or signpost them to other organisations
• Organise legal advice sessions for asylum and partnership service users
• Input data onto our Salesforce database
• Write minutes for legal and support service team meetings
• Assist with organising and running events (e.g. Pride, service user Christmas party)
• Assist with preparations for training and presentations

Role overview

Contract type: Permanent

Hours: Full-time (35 hours per week Monday to Friday). Occasional work in the evenings and at weekends may be required but with plenty of notice. Rainbow Migration encourages staff to maintain a good work life balance and has a TOIL system in place.

Salary: Starting at £25,244 FTE with potential annual step increases up to £28,412, plus statutory employer’s pension contribution. In addition to an annual step increase, the trustees consider giving a separate inflationary increase every April.

Location: Rainbow Migration’s wheelchair accessible offices are based between Vauxhall and the Oval, London. This role will have an office-based contract but the postholder can choose to work from home for part of the week in agreement with their line manager as per our hybrid working policy. You must be available to work from our offices in London when necessary. The successful candidate would also be welcome to work from the office full-time if that is their preference. At the time of posting this advert, staff mostly work from home. There might also be occasional travel outside London with plenty of notice. Please contact us if you have any questions.

Annual leave: 25 days per year rising after 24 months by 1 day after each year of service to a maximum of 28 days per year (pro rata if working part-time).

About the role:

You may be a qualified IDVA or a Domestic Abuse Outreach Worker wanting to work alongside health professionals in a hospital environment, although we will consider applicants from other fields providing you are able to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of domestic abuse.

This role involves both face to face and virtual support in a hybrid model of working. There is an expectation that you will do a mixture of working from home, our office Victim Support, 3rd Floor, 5-7 Singer Street, London, and in co-location at St Georges Hospital.

As a Hospital Independent Domestic Violence Advocate you will:

• Implement effective ways of working with victims and those supporting them to increase safety and reduce harm.
• Provide a high-quality, front-line service to victims of domestic abuse, delivering a premium service prioritised according to risk, primarily focusing on victim/survivors aged 16+
• Work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic abuse.
• Be comfortable with running group training sessions and be willing and able to share your specialist knowledge with acute staff across the hospital.

Please note that the successful applicant will be required to sign an honorary contract with the Hospital Trust in addition to their contract of employment.

You will need:

• Have a knowledge of help-seeking barriers and support needs of victims of domestic abuse (in heterosexual or same-sex relationships). 
• Have a good understanding of domestic abuse including the impact of domestic abuse on victims and their children.
• Understand the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic abuse and their children
• Understand safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues.
• Experience of direct service delivery to victims of domestic abuse or other vulnerable people.
• Have strong communication, negotiation and advocacy skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals.
• To understand and be committed to equal opportunities and diversity issues in policy and practice.
• Strong crisis management skills and the ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations.
• Good communication skills, a proactive approach and the confidence to be able to influence the way in which this service is delivered are key.

Hours: Full time - 37.5 hours over 5 days

Objective:

2wish exists to provide support to anyone affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under.

Aims:

• Ensure every Emergency Department and Critical Care unit has a suitable bereavement suite
• Ensure that bereavement boxes are available at each of these hospitals
• Ensure that immediate bereavement support is available for all affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
• Provide a professional counselling service and other therapies for those affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
• Provide support to individuals who witness the sudden death of a child or young person
• Provide support and training to professionals from any sector who may be affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
• To advocate and campaign on behalf of suddenly bereaved families

2wish Cymru and 2wish:

2wish has been established since 2012 and has grown from strength to strength. During this time, we have worked tirelessly to embed our service and ensure that the offer of support is made at the point of death.

We offer an immediate, consistent, high-quality and compassionate service to all individuals affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under in Wales. We work in partnership with professionals who refer into the charity on behalf of the families, so they don’t have to trawl through the internet for an organisation who may, or may not, be able to support. We provide immediate, and ongoing, support and are here for as long as our families need us.

Context of role:

2wish support anyone affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under. We provide immediate casework support, as well as ongoing services including counselling, complementary therapies, play therapy, coffee mornings, support events and a respite cottage.

As we continue to expand our services across England the successful candidate will play a central role in the ongoing development of our relationships with stakeholders. Initiative and drive play an integral part of ensuring our professional stakeholders remain engaged and champion our service to those we support. The post holder will provide immediate and ongoing emotional and practical support to families, friends, witnesses and professionals affected by the sudden death of a child or young adult.

Main duties:

Service:

• To initiate immediate support for a caseload of families whose children and young people aged 0- 25 have died suddenly and unexpectedly across the county you reside in and bordering counties
• To contact all families within 24-48 hours of the referrals by telephone
• Complete an initial assessment of families' needs to identify and plan the support as required in line with safeguarding and risk reduction
• Offer emotional support and advice to a case load of families through home visits and ongoing weekly telephone calls
• To liaise with the Counselling Support and Outreach Coordinator, who is responsible for organising formal support such as counselling, complementary therapy or play therapy, subject to consent from the bereaved individual
• To work with hospital staff, GP’s, police officers, coroner offices, mental health teams and other healthcare professionals to raise awareness of and promote referrals into the charity from the county you reside in and bordering counties
• To liaise with other professionals working alongside the family to provide a holistic and multiagency approach to support
• Attend relevant forums within the area
• To deliver awareness training in hospitals and other healthcare settings, schools and workplaces on the use of the bereavement boxes, the services we offer, ho to refer into the charity and bereavement awareness
• To ensure families have been offered a memory box and coordinate these when required
• Facilitate debriefs within professional settings following a traumatic or sudden death of a child or young person
• To work with hospital trusts to establish and maintain the upkeep of suitable bereavement suites for bereaved individuals to use as required
• Maintain stock of 2wish memory boxes and deliver boxes to partner organisations as required
• To submit monthly/quarterly/annual reports to Bereavement Services Manager as required
• To signpost and/or refer to other agencies as required that can provide support as needed
• Cover members of the support team for annual leave and/or sickness
• To travel to attend in-person team meetings and in-person training as required
• To travel to in-person events as required

General:

• To be responsible for organising own work agenda, time management and administration
• To show respect and sensitivity for the cultural and religious beliefs of families
• To undertake learning opportunities and seek them out for the team
• To adhere to all company policies and procedures including Safeguarding, Confidentiality, Health and Safety and Lone Working; and to be proactive in implementing new safe working practices as appropriate
• To attend weekend and evening community events in support of the charity as necessary
• Participate as and when required in team meetings and one-to-one meetings, and undertake, as appropriate, courses/training/other developmental activities, which is relevant to the role
• Contribute on the social media platforms maintained by 2wish

It is the nature of the work that tasks and responsibilities are in may circumstances unpredictable and varied. All employees are therefore expected to work in a flexible way and tasks, which are not specifically covered in their job description may have to be undertaken.

The Organisation

The Royal Parks (TRP) is a charity created in March 2017. We manage over 5,000 acres of diverse parkland, rare habitats and historic buildings and monuments in eight Royal Parks across London. The Role

As a Civils Engineer, you will lead the management and maintenance of civil infrastructure across the Royal Parks estate.

With responsibility for a diverse and historic landscape, you will oversee a range of engineering and drainage projects and deliver expert guidance to the Estates and Works Teams while supporting the Facilities Management contract.

Your work will involve a mix of project administration and site-based inspections, including condition surveys, technical reporting, and contractor oversight.

From resurfacing footpaths and improving drainage to managing reservoir compliance, you’ll ensure infrastructure is maintained to the highest safety and quality standards while balancing value and heritage considerations.

Additionally, you will:

• Audit the monthly road and footpath.
• Manage the Annual Reservoir inspections
• Manage bridge and culvert inspections.
• Manage cyclical maintenance programmes
• Oversee civil engineering projects from procurement through to completion
• Prepare annual budgets and manage expenditure reporting
• Advise on cost-effective repair strategies and maintain the asset register

About You

To be considered as a Civils Engineer, you will need:

• Proven design and site management experience in civil engineering
• Knowledge and experience of contract management
• Experience of report writing and the ability to present reports to a high standard
• Experience of establishing and managing recurring maintenance programmes
• Knowledge of road, footpath, drainage, revetment and bridge maintenance
• A sound understanding of relevant legislation and technical matters relating to drainage and highways management
• A degree, HND or HNC in Civil Engineering or a related field

About the role:

This role is based at Accrington. Once your probation period is completed you will be eligible to apply for hybrid working. All travel costs to and from appointments from your office base will be reimbursed.

As a Domestic Abuse Caseworker, you will be:

• Focusing on victims of domestic abuse and will provide a pro-active, short to medium term crisis intervention service, through individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support
• This will include supporting victims either face to face or over the telephone to assist them in accessing services to keep them and their family safe. It will involve developing individual safety plans to meet client's needs as identified in the needs and risk assessment.
• You will provide advocacy, emotional and practical support and information to victims including
• exploration of legal and civil options, housing, health and finance and support clients through the criminal justice system.
• You will participate fully in multi-agency meetings by being the voice of the client and follow up actions agreed in meetings keeping the client's safety at the forefront of proceedings.

You will need to:

• Have a good understanding of domestic abuse including the impact of domestic abuse on victims and their children.
• Understand the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic abuse and their children
• Understand Safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues
• Have theoretical, practical and procedural knowledge of civil and criminal justice remedies for victims of domestic abuse and their children
• Experience of working within a multi-agency and legislative framework
• Experience of managing a complex caseload, to prioritise work and deal with competing demands demonstrating an organised and methodical approach to work
• Have strong crisis management skills and the ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations
• Have excellent communication, negotiation and advisory skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals
• Demonstrate the ability to use IT applications competently including, Microsoft Word, Excel etc. and Case Management systems in order to keep accurate records and monitoring your performance.

Headway Gloucestershire was established in 1987 and since then we have been working to make a positive difference to the lives of adults with an acquired brain injury. We provide specialist recovery support and respite through our centre based Day Service and outreach support through our Community Links Service. We provide group and one to one sessions to support individuals.

Open every weekday, Headway House is at the heart of Headway Gloucestershire.  We provide a structured programme of activities for individuals to choose from. Our programme is designed to support participants to work toward their own recovery goals and gain insight into strategies that support individuals to manage the physical, cognitive, sensory, emotional and behavioural outcomes which can occur following an acquired brain injury. Peer group sessions enable us to harness the recovery benefits of peer contact and support.

We have been successful in receiving three years of funding to deliver services in up to five locations in Gloucestershire and are recruiting a part-time Support Worker to support the delivery of our Hubs – to meet and support the recovery needs of individuals with acquired brain injury in their community. The Support Worker will be responsible for the delivery of group sessions designed to support individuals with acquired brain injury work toward their recovery goals. Responsibilities include: -

• To deliver professional, impartial, enabling and outcome focused support to Individuals with acquired brain injury. To provide support for clients with complex needs to support their recovery, wellbeing, independence and autonomy.
• Supporting the Hub Lead to schedule, develop and deliver sessions.
• Provide Key-working to individuals: - to use an enabling approach to support individuals to plan and work toward their recovery goals ensuring that planned activities are delivered and support is tailored to meet the needs of each individual survivor to maximise our contribution to their recovery.
• Providing cover at Headway House where required.
• Ensure that safeguarding training and understanding is kept current and that individuals are safeguarded.

Primarily carrying out the role in community Hubs, you will work to clearly established quality standards. You will be joining a motivated and dynamic team of staff and volunteers working to making a difference to individuals with acquired brain injury in Gloucestershire.

• Producing management accounts for relevant budget holders and contributing to GPA’s client budget process
