The Royal College of Ophthalmologists (RCOphth) is a membership organisation and the voice of the profession, with over 4,000 members in the UK and overseas. Our role is to champion the specialty, set standards of training and practice, and influence change to make a difference to the lives of patients with eye conditions.

Job Purpose

 The Membership Administrator will support work relating to membership customer service, recruitment, retention, subscriptions, data management and communications.

The post requires strong attention to detail, experience in using CRM systems and excellent customer service and communication skills as the first point of contact in our membership team.

Main responsibilities

 Membership

• Respond to enquiries about membership by email and phone, and being the first point of contact for membership issues
• Process applications for membership ensuring applicants meet the criteria and provide correct documentation e.g. sponsors 
• Suggest improvements to the membership application process
• Ensure member information is up to date within the CRM
• Ensure membership pages of the website are up to date
• Facilitate access to membership benefits
• Providing mailing list for the publishers of the Eye journal
• Assist in the production of regular membership communications
• Provide reports for Council on the number and names of new members and those gaining fellowship by examination
• Assist in the production of promotional material for use at courses and events

Subscriptions

• Administrate Direct Debit process
• Apply bank transfer payments to member accounts
• Administrate collection process of overdue membership payments
• dministrate membership concessions and grade changes
• Respond to enquiries about subscription fees
• Respond to enquires re the annual renewal process

General

• Assist the Membership Elections Manager with arrangements for the College elections as appropriate
• Assist the Membership Elections Manager with attendance at various national marketing events to represent the College as appropriate
• Download CRM reports and presenting in information in various formats, e.g. inclusion of graphs
• Assist with the work of the membership working group including arranging meeting logistics, including dates, location and catering
• Assist with the organisation of meeting papers, including preparing the agenda, circulating papers and drafting minutes

To undertake other duties as required:

• Undertake any other reasonable duties as required, including occasional travel and overnight stays.

This Best Companies Top 100 mid-sized company and Top 20 charity is looking to appoint an Executive Assistant to provide proactive and efficient administrative and operational support to the Senior Leadership Team and the Board of Trustees, whilst observing the strictest confidence. This is a part time job share role, working 3 days per week.

About the role

• Review reported AINMs and Safeguarding alerts and work collaboratively with teams to implement effective remedial actions, supporting future mitigation
• Conduct regular service visits and team meetings, focusing on safety reviews, training, and provide practical, informed guidance during these engagements
• Manage data and analyse trends, creating high quality reports, which are clear and readable
• Facilitate and support organisational complaints processes to ensure adherence to policy, timescale, and best practice
• Investigate and lead on whistleblowing concerns and assist the audit and compliance team, champions, Managers, P&C and other relevant teams in acting appropriately on concerns raised and protecting the whistleblower

About you

• Previous experience in complaints and incident handling, safeguarding, data protection, and audits
• Previous experience in governance systems and structures which could include auditing, risk management, investigations, and report writing
• Previous experience in managing quality standards
• Working knowledge of health and safety processes and procedures
• IT Proficiency, ability to learn new software programs, and ability to confidently use and utilise Microsoft programs

Scope of role

The Debt Advisor is responsible for providing comprehensive, face-to-face debt advice to over-indebted Londoners, tailored to their specific circumstances. This role involves conducting detailed interviews to understand clients’ financial problems, researching options, and helping clients make informed decisions. The advisor ensures income maximisation and provides ongoing casework support, acting on behalf of clients where necessary. Key Responsibilities

Accurate, effective and individually tailored advice

• Interviewing those that access our service using sensitive listening and questioning skills to allow them to explain their problem(s) and empower them to set their own priorities.
• Researching and exploring options and implications so that those accessing our service can make informed decisions.
• Ensuring income maximisation through the appropriate take up of income, including those relating to water charges benefits tax and housing.
• Providing in-depth quality advice and on-gong casework, including acting for the client where necessary using appropriate communication skills and channels. 

Detailed case records

• Maintaining detailed case records, ensuring that all work meets all auditing and quality standards and the requirements of the funder.
• Ensuring all case records and written up in a timely manner.

Up-to-date training

• Completing a minimum of 16 hours/ equivalent of technical debt advice DPD accredited training or qualifying activity.

Essential Criteria:

Experience and Skills:

• Previous experience of providing debt advice
• Hold a valid Money Advice Service accredited qualification in debt advice to level three or higher
• Experience of delivering high quality advice, casework and financial capability sessions to meet targets whilst ensuring collection of data to support funder’s monitoring and reporting requirements
• Have essential IT and telephone skills and ability to use an online based Client Management System (CMS) to deliver advice across multiple channels and maintain case records

We are looking for an experienced and passionate direct marketing professional, or someone with relevant transferable skills, to join us as our new Direct Marketing Fundraiser. 

This is an exciting time to join the fundraising team with significant growth across multiple income streams, including individual giving. This role will be integral to developing our individual giving programme to support the growth and sustainability of our income, whilst also driving supporter engagement. You will be responsible for the hospice’s direct mail campaigns and maintaining and developing strong relationships with donors to maximise income generation.
